Better than expected for a tourist trap, as evidenced by the lengthy but confused "fusion" menu. It's definitely not something I'd go out of my way to return to again. The spicy mango margarita got a good kick, but you could tell that it had a lot of sugar as well. Hard to drink more than one. The fries came out undercooked and still cold and mealy in the center. They were able to refire another order pretty quickly and the well-done fries were actually pretty tasty. The octopus was a bit underdone and mildly chewy. I personally like the sauce, but the other 3 people in our group thought it smelled off. The yellowtail tataki also had a bit of a fishy smell, but not bad enough that we'd return the dish. The crispy rice dishes were probably the best. The one with spicy tuna was done well, but generic and could be found in plenty of other Japanese restaurants. We popped in one day out of pure convenience. We were at a conference at the Venetian Expo. During lunch time all the restaurants in the area fill up quickly. Sugarcane had room at the bar so we sat there. My companion had been there for lunch the previous day with co-workers and thought it wasn't bad. I had a waffle which was huge. I loved the fresh fruit on top of the waffle. My companion added the cream to his half (I can't do the cream) and he said it was good. The waffle was so delicious that I didn't even need the syrup. It was a solid good choice. My companion had the house salad and he added skirt steak. Of course he really liked this salad. It was fresh and crisp. The previous day he ordered the sesame noodle salad and didn't care for it but one of his co-workers ordered the house salad and it looked so good he had to try it. Overall, it's a nice little meal choice right outside the expo. It's not a large restaurant but a decent enough size with lots of seating options a for different sized parties. My colleagues and I dined at Sugarcane for breakfast one morning before our conference began. We had only decided the night before that we wanted to convene, and since we didn't want to go far - options were kinda limited. Sugarcane seemed to fit the bill as an option in the Venetian that had a menu with broad appeal, so off we went. We were staying in the Palazzo, so it wasn't a long walk over to Sugarcane - the restaurant is situated amongst several other eateries and shops, though it is not in the Canal Shoppes per se. The decor was minimal - there wasn't anything too interesting, it was just fine. The menu is mostly standard American breakfast fare with touches of South and Southwestern. I wasn't looking for anything crazy, especially since it was breakfast - so I went with their breakfast sandwich. The sandwich contained egg, bacon, cheese, tomato, arugula, and roasted garlic aioli on a brioche roll. The sandwich was good - all the flavors worked well together, though it was a smidge messy as the eggs were scrambled. The fries were good, though the menu said they were shoestring but I got a thicker cut - no big deal. Service was good, everyone was friendly and we were taken care of promptly. Overall, I had a solid experience at Sugarcane - the food wasn't amazing, but it also wasn't bad. Best happy hour experience we've had in Vegas! Everything from the fresh, sweet pacific oysters to their HH drink selection was just perfectly to our liking. It's really not to mention that their pricing was amazing as well for the quality that was received. We were a group of 6 and really enjoyed the mix of intimidate and social vibes that they had going during late night HH. Dinner at Sugarcane was a wonderful way to start off my weekend in Vegas. The place itself is beautiful and the staff was very nice. They have some great cocktails - I went with Purple Rain. For an app, we chose the Crispy Eggplant Parmigiana which was absolutely wonderful. We were so hungry to dig in that I forgot to snap a pic. For my entree, I chose the Griller Salmon. Booked sugarcane because it looked like a perfect spot for brunch and it was! I got the lobster tamale because it looked interesting and my friend got the special steak and eggs. I also got the Brussels sprouts since I wanted to be healthy. The tamale was pretty good. The lobster was part of a sauce on top of the chili/corn tamale. The tamale was good but yea definitely an item that only exists on the strip. The Brussels sprouts were kind of disappointing, it was the longer kind, so more bitter and not crispy at all. Glaze was good but yea the sprouts were bitter. My friend liked her steak and eggs, they looked good. Overall, a nice brunch place on the strip but not outstanding. Decor is gorgeous. read more

We visited Sugarcane twice for breakfast during our stay at the Venetian. This was a perfect place to grab a bite without breaking the bank but still being able to enjoy a sit down breakfast in a nice atmosphere. The service was attentive and very accommodating. I had the traditional breakfast with eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toast both times. Yes sounds boring...but it was so satisfying and a very generous portion!! It was very tender and the sauce was fantastic! The revamp of this restaurant cannot be underestimated. I dined here in 2022 before the remodel and the food was equally as interesting but the decor and ambiance look beautiful now! I was able to score a reservation the same day but I can imagine the weekends being a bit more challenging. They serve brunch all day followed by a dinner menu for the evening. We popped in right before lunch and enjoyed some breakfast items. They have some daily specials such as the lobster benedict we indulged in. I also ordered the Fat Boy hash, which had a very decadent bacon jam in between layers. Service was also kind, and courteous, and we came out in a timely manner. We came here on a weekday evening and it was quite crowded. We had seen that this restaurant hosts larger events because it was closed over the weekend for an event. This is a Spanish tapas styled place that serves some interesting dishes. We ordered the goat cheese croquettes, the corn with cotija cheese and spices, and the seafood tamale. Overall, since this is a tapas place, the dishes are on the smaller side and also are also already being worked on in the kitchen. You'll find that the prices look cheaper than other places nearby but it's because it's a tapas place and so the dishes are smaller and you'll probably want to order more of them. So you'll find that depending on the item you order, it might be lukewarm. I found that to be the case with the goat cheese croquettes and the corn, even though they still had good flavors. My partner really enjoyed the seafood tamale, saying that was the best tamale he'd had because it was moist and flavorful. For 3 small dishes, we paid about $65, including tip. It was a busy time to have dinner so the staff was rushing around but I wanted to give a shoutout to Eric who was not our server but was so attentive it was like he was -- he cleared our tables, brought us water, asked if we wanted dessert, checked in on us, etc. he deserves the kudos and also the gratuity as well. read more

I am absolutely coming back to Sugarcane! The entire experience from the moment we walked in was a 10/10. From the hostesses, to the servers, bartenders and managers, we felt like VIPs. My and I were in Las Vegas and had tickets to see The Eagles in The Sphere....decided to grab dinner at The Venetian before the show as it is the e closest casino to the venue. We did not have any reservations and it was also a Friday night...we stumbled across this place and saw a couple of chairs at the bar so stayed for dinner. We both had a couple of cocktails and wife ordered Tagliatelle Bolognese and I went with the Le Classic Double Burger....we both very much enjoyed our meals. Lots of flavor and great portions...this place is not cheap but nothing is on the Las Vegas Strip. The restaurant is also the closest to the hallway tunnel that takes you to The Sphere. Great place if you enjoy some happy hour drinks and raw oysters! A couple friends and I visited Sugarcane in between brunch and dinner since it was happy hour. The other 2 (la isla and spicy mango margarita) were tequila based and sounded really good too and I would have gotten those next if we didn't have other drink places later that day. $8 happy hour cocktails and they didn't skimp on the alcohol. It was all delicious. Food-wise, we ordered a dozen oysters, seasoned fries, Brussels sprouts, goat cheese croquettes, a few sliders, and a couple orders of the chicken wings. Oysters - comes with the standard fixings of multiple sauces, the little spoons where you can use to customize your oysters. Pretty good. 6 minimum for the $2.50 happy hourly fresh oysters. If we were staying here longer, we would have done another order. Goat cheese croquettes - these weren't really a big hit. They were OK with me - appreciated the fried piece of cheese and the sauce, but it felt that there was too much filling and not much actual goat cheese based on the flavor and texture. Brussels Sprouts - we got these cause we needed some greens. Not bad. Sliders - we each got one and they were pretty good. Chicken wings - good flavor, but some of it was dry to me. Fries - can't go wrong with these! Service was pretty good. The look of the place didn't quite justify the price of the regular menu items, but perfect for happy hour, though their regular menu items looked sooooo good as well. Very casual spot. "Sugarcane" is located within the restaurant row between the Venetian and Palazzo resorts. This restaurant has a sister location in Miami. As you might guess, the food here is a fusion, drawing influences from Cuban and Hispanic cuisine. On this first visit, our table ordered the duck & waffle ($27.00); Cuban Benedict ($24.00); Toad in the Hole ($21.00); a diet Pepsi ($5.75); coffee ($6.00); orange juice ($7.50); and a bottomless Mimosa ($26.00). With tax ($9.82), our ticket was $127.07 before gratuity. Think of the duck and waffles as a variation of chicken and waffles. It is duck leg confit and fried egg, served on top of a waffle. They offer syrup, but I didn't use it. The duck tasted good by itself; the waffle tasted good with the egg (and a bit of butter). The Cuban Benedict is a variation of Eggs Benedict. It has roasted pork, smoked ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, caramelized onions, mojo garlic, smoked paprika hollandaise, poached eggs on top of sourdough. It's a mélange of a lot of flavors and textures, and it may not be for someone who prefers a simpler blend of tastes. The décor and setting of the restaurant were pleasant. We ordered the breakfast platter: came with 2 eggs (we chose sunny side up), breakfast potatoes (yum!), sourdough toast and breakfast sausage (tasty!) and we also ordered Brioche French Toast which came with vanilla cream, fresh mix berries and maple syrup. The french toast came on a cute skillet and it was delicious. We also ordered a side of bacon, but we ended up taking that back to the hotel to munch on later. Oh and of course we had coffee and shared an orange juice. The ambiance here is so enjoyable. They have Happy Hour daily, so need to come back for that, but looks like a yummy dinner menu they have, too, so need to see how that it is! It is 106 degrees out there and I just walked about 3 blocks from Circus Circus to the Venetian. These blocks are NOT small. To start off I'm having a bottle of Saratoga Sparkling Spring Water. What a relief that is! I haven't had this brand in quite a while. I'm starting it off with a shrimp cocktail (2 piece for Happy Hour). I like their spicy sauce! For my first drink, I'm having a Spicy Mango Margarita made with Jalapeno-infused tequila and lime agave. It is served in an odd glass. It's a bit thick (I'd prefer a bit less sugary) but it definitely has a strong mango taste to it. I like the Tajin rim. For my next food item, I'm having a Pig Ear Papaya Sakkara made with micro cilantro, sweet chili, jalapeños and pad Thai sauce. That's a unique taste! That's a first for me. It's a bit heavy so I'm going to move on quickly to another item. For my next item, I'm having a Homemade Empanada made with hand-cut steak, Oaxaca cheese and potatoes. This is good! They're little round, fried, goat cheese balls. I like them! For my next drink, I'm having a Strawberry Balsamic made with Platinum vodka (ignore the "premium" wording on the menu), lime juice, maple syrup, balsamic and fresh strawberries. This is better! It's perfectly balanced and very refreshing! For my next item, I'm having the Mini Salmon Poke bowl made with hijiki seaweed, rice and sesame-soy. Hijiki (Sargassum fusiforme) is a brown, edible seaweed that grows wild on the rocky coasts of East Asia. What a cute, little bowl! This is good! Next up I'm having a bowl of Tortilla Soup. This is made with organic shredded chicken, avocado, black beans, corn, cilantro and chili pepper (extra, extra). This is good! Nice and spicy! A meal in itself!
