I discovered Bronzed at their Santa Monica location over a year ago when travelling here for work. I was looking for something with natural ingredients and was super impressed with the homemade sugar beet solution which left a flawless bronzed color, customized to the level of the client. Now I moved here and go to the Newport Beach location. I made a conscious decision to avoid sun exposure, hopefully keeping my skin melanoma and wrinkle-free. I love it so much, I signed up for the monthly membership, which saves me a TON of money and I am tan all year round - includes two tans/ month and unlimited face sprays. This was my first experience with sugaring, and Daniela made it a great first time! She was very professional and friendly, and she explained everything to me clearly. She didn't rush anything and let me have breathers when I needed them (and I definitely needed a lot of them for my first time)! I have been to quite a few sugaring places since moving from LA and sugared and bronzed is by far the best experience Ive had. The girls there are efficient, quick,and detail oriented. No sugar or sticky feeling after. I was an avid waxer but have never gone back after sugaring. No sensitivity, less ingrown hairs and the hair comes back softer and finer. read more

Have been in twice and each time the tan has been exactly what I had hoped for. The location is great on a 2nd floor on PCH above summer house. The ladies who work there are really upbeat, pleasant and professional. They offer a variety of color options and have helpful items like shower caps in the tanning room. This is the second Bronzed location I visit (first was in Beverly Hills) and I'm just as impressed as the first time. I was down at the beach in OC and needed a last minute tanning appointment. I went on yelp and was REALLY excited to find another Bronzed nearby. I was able to book online within all of a few minutes and got a text confirmation a few hours later (love that). The girls at the salon were not typical were really nice and helpful. They even told me that if I follow them on twitter or insta they'd offer free sessions once in awhile. 100% recommend this place. read more

Yesterday was my first time coming to Sugar and Bronzed. I live in downtown La and spend my weekends in Newport so I decided to give this place a try and I'm so glad that I did. They are located on pch but the entrance and parking is in the rear of the building which is nice and creates a private and exclusive entrance. The office is clean and elegant and the waxing rooms are private and cozy. I was waxed by a lady named Hailey who was so fast and efficient. I got a Brazilian and it took about 10 minutes max. The wax that they use is softer than any other sugar wax I've experienced. I've been getting waxed for over 10 years and this place was definitely the best I've experienced. i have been consistently getting sugared here for the past year. i have yet to be disappointed. the girls are extremely friendly, and they seem to know how to carry a conversation to alleviate the pain of the sugaring process. my first sugaring hurt a lot, and the girls claimed that after a couple times it gets better (not really, but maybe my pain tolerance is just that low). regardless, it is an extremely effective method of keeping the hair at bay, and much more efficient than waxing or shaving. the facility is extremely clean and beautiful as well. new clients get 2 brazillians for $49! occasionally, there are opportunities to receive a discount ($10 off) your treatments. these discounts do not only apply when major festivals (coachella) or holidays approach. + parking | there is a lot in the back, but only two spots are reserved for s+b. after 7:30pm, you can park in any spot. the street leading into the lot is residential and narrow, but there are typically some open spaces if you are unable to park in the lot. read more

I rarely write reviews; unless something is really good or very bad. Unfortunately my experience with Sugared + bronzed was horrible. I bought the 2 tanning package and the first time I went I wasn't happy with the results at all.. spray tanning all over the bottom of feet & streaky areas. However, I felt bad to write a review since the girl who sprayed me was super nice. The second time was about 10 days ago, & I got the 4 hour spray tan -I literally the salon left furious- same thing, spray tanning all over the bottom of my feet & I could see right away the difference in color between my thighs and my calves , so I called the girl again and she fixed it. Then I told her about my feet and I say can you please put a new towel since this one is covered in spray and now the bottom of my feet are covered in spray tanning and I can't be on the pool like this tomorrow. She refuses & say it's clean - like I can't see the bottom my feet- Anyways I get out of the room and I ask her if she can get my anything for the bottom of my feet, she gives me some sort of solution but she comments that it won't do anything at this point and there is no place for me to even sit down and try if I can scrub the bottom of my feet. 4 hours later and according to the instructions, I shower and my legs and streaky, & one leg is darker than the other!!!! I call them up, they told me to send pictures so they can have the manager call me bs k . I send the pictures & waited and nothing.. I called back no answer! Nice, lovely place. Parking kind of sucks though but it's not the end of the world. My friend and I both came in today for our Brazilian (first timers) and it went by so SMOOTHLY. We both got to our appointments early but they were able to get us in before our actual appointments, which was awesome. The service itself was really quick, less than 10 minutes. I got my first sugaring and tanning (express) here and loved the experience. I'm more familiar with waxing, but sugaring was a much better experience for my sensitive skin. The sugaring is less painful for me, goes more quickly, and seemed to require fewer pulls than traditional waxing. The tanning is really great because they have someone spray you rather than going in a room with a machine, so you can be sure it's done evenly and you don't have to hold your breath. The girls are super kind and the shop in newport is clean and cute. They even have coffee! Would highly recommend! read more

I absolutely LOVE my spray tan! I've been going to a different place for about a year and was curious to check out other places for tanning. My spray tan at Sugared + Bronzed is the BEST spray tan I've ever had! The color-dark which was described as a "week in Hawaii" is perfect and gorgeous. The Creme de la creme! I wouldn't dare go anywhere else, this place is a gem. The product speaks for itself, my last spay tan lasted almost two weeks with minimal splotching and the girls who work here are down to earth and professional. So, if you're one of those people who gets awkward stripping down to your skivvies, trust that these ladies make you feel extremely comfortable. The prices are reasonable and I've never had an issue with making appointments, they're very accommodating. They have their own parking space but sometimes parking is an issue, I'd suggest just parking on the street. In regard to the tan, I'm very fair skinned and I typically go for the medium to dark spray, the first 10 hrs I look DARK but after I'm able to shower, it looks completely natural. If I could give 0 stars for this experience I would. I had been coming to this establishment for a while to get sugar waxed. This was the first time I decided to do an appointment with a trainee. Little did I know I was putting myself under a person who would give me an infection that would have me hospitalized. As we know sugar waxing is not always the most aseptic procedure. My gynecologist informed me that many of her clients that have gone to Sugared and Bronzed have made appointments with her in the following days complaining about very painful infected bumps from messy waxing procedures. I understand we have to sign a waiver, I understand we are not supposed to press charges on trainees. However, what I don't understand is what I, the customer, is supposed to do when I am in the hospital due to an incompetent trainee? Full disclosure of what happened, the trainee had waxed over one area too many times and honestly she was shaking and nervous and didn't know what she was doing the entire time. This over waxing and non existent technique formed an infected ingrown hair that became the most painful abscess I have ever experienced in life directly ON my vagina. It had to be drained and bandaged in the ER. I have never experienced such pain there, in all my years of womanhood. I called Sugared and Bronzed to let them know what had happened and I kid you not they did not care. At all. :( read more
