It's been a while since I went to jen jon in fact I think it was before yelp times! The place looks different since probably has changed owners many times.. still though the experience was great.. and we love supporting small business in fremont.. the Vietnamese coffee was tasty. The spring rolls fresh and the chicken ban Minh awesome Now I know why they are still around.. check out this rare gem hole in the wall establishment

Nice affordable small business ! Will definitely be coming back for seconds :) I got the burger and passion fruit - so good! Service was fast and ambiance was chill - laid back.

Wanted to try something different on my lunch always liked banh mi style sandwiches. Looked up the closest one. Call to make an order when I got there person working in the front didn't have the most welcoming attitude, but I understand people can't be happy 24/7. Anyways, I'd give the sandwich maybe a 6.5 or seven out of 10 was decent, but I've definitely had better for the price I paid .so overall the mid-level review.

My "Extra" jalapeños. This was actually total pepper slices I got!
    Marie J.

Bahn Mi combo was okay. I asked for extra pate' and extra jalapeños, but got the extra pate', and I think extra cilantro (see photos). Only got three small slices of jalapeño in my sandwich TOTAL, but that was not a big issue. The bread was good, but too hard on the outside for me. The Thai iced tea with boba was a little too sweet, but that's my fault for not asking for less sweet when I ordered. My issue was with the boba. They were soft outside, but too firm in the middle....don't you hate that? I do! Like I said, it was okay, but didn't scratch my Bahn Mi and Thai iced tea with boba itch!! Nice little shop, and reasonably priced, but not worth it to me....Sorry.

This café has been here for a long time, and I just tried it for the first time in my life. I didn't order a big meal, unfortunately. I just wanted to test it out. I ordered the pork eggrolls and the sexy (lol) fruit tea. Both came out quickly. The eggrolls were hot, and the tea was perfect. Not too sweet. He added fresh mint and lime to the tea, which was perfect for a hot afternoon. Next time, I want to order a proper meal and give a better review. I will definitely be back.

Been coming here for years and it's always been our go to spot. Our go to order is 3 passion fruit smoothies, 3 BBQPork banhi mi, and teriyaki chicken plate with fried rice grand total $65 ish dollars. It's a super cute small establishment with out door sitting which is also our go to. Good food next to Union city bart. If your in the area if nothing else the smoothies are a MUST! Service is friendly and nice. Food comes out quick and this is hands down my kids favorite place. Menu is pretty large but I stick to what I know, havnt ventured out of our normal go to items.

Can't believe I haven't wrote a review. I love this hole in the wall place. They pack enough ingredients for everything, especially the banh mi. Their summer rolls were so delicious also. As a Vietnamese woman, I do appreciate quality of food and good service. Definitely a must try if you're in the area.

Loves their earl grey and jasmine milktea, also their fruit drink.!!!!!!!! Kid approved!!!!

Combo sandwich - veggies on the side but where is everything else? Disappointing at $7.75.

The banh mi tasted great, the one thing to improve on was the bread. It was too hard and crunchy. I wish they toasted it a bit less.

But don't think there are multiple locations...yet. Upon receiving my sandwiches, it was wrapped in a paper with their company logo, and from a quick glance it is super similar to the Jersey Mikes logo in terms of color, so it has a real familiar vibe. No hate just an observation. This used to be another restaurant (maybe even several) on the edge of an industrial zone/business park, but also not too far from several shopping strips. There's spacious seating inside, but in the later afternoon when I went, nobody was eating in. But quite a few take-out and third party pick-ups. I even saw a poster showcasing their catering aspect for common work lunches on the company dime. Good for them. Niles Canyon ($14.50/4*) I opted to up this to their combo meal which includes a bag of chips and a soda for another $5. So this was easily a $20 lunch meal without tipping yet. Pricey yes, but not because they are pricier than most, but that is just the going rate for eating a meal outside these days. $15 - $20 per person are common and anything under $15 is now considered cheap eats and getting harder to run into. This sandwich had slightly warmed up deli turkey that when stacked with the swiss cheese slices, kinda softened the cheese. It wasn't ooey gooey but the cheese wasn't firm and cold either. There was another layer of prosciutto as well which wasn't too noticeable but did add another dimension. I chose to go with the full produce choice, as I love the freshness of veggies to go with meat sandwiches. There was also a layer of fresh avo slices which lent a creamy richness to the bites. I tried one of their sliced breads to go for this sandwich, as I tried a sourdough roll for another sandwich that I got to-go for my work lunch the next day. That way I got to sample their bread offerings. Their sliced marbled rye bread is thick sliced, very soft and moist with a good bread chew. They use a good bread supplier for sure. On top of mayo and mustard which is common, they also put their Bomb Sauce which seems like a garlic-y spread of sorts. I can definitely smell it, but the taste isn't overly strong. I'd say super similar to Mr Pickles. Prosciutto Sandwich ($13/4*) This was an all-cold traditional sandwich. I took a couple of bites there to see how it was fresh from the counter, and I ate the rest the next day at work. I gotta say I liked it better the next day as all the flavors melded more together. Even tho the veggies get a bit mushier, I've always liked a well dressed salad sensation in sandwiches, kinda like a Muffeletta sandwich where it is refrigerated overnight, meant to be eaten the next day. Their prosciutto isn't the old school imported version, or at least I've never had one quite like it. I'm assuming a domestic version, even seemed more like cappicola to me as I sensed a tinge of fennel up in there. So pretty satisfied with my first visit. I'll definitely get sandwiches here again for work or day trip lunches. Pretty much on the same level as Togo's or Mr. Pickles, but just more local. With sandwich names as The Quarry Lakes, The Decoto and The Dumbarton, just pulls on my local lovin' heartstrings. Props.

First thing that surprised me was the size - it was certainly on the smaller side, especially compared to other sandwich places. Understandably their price is more affordable, but next time I would probably just size up. Flavor-wise, the sandwiches themselves tasted great and I had no complaints there. The issue was the bread. The Dutch crunch was a literal ROCK. On my first bite I actually had to stop and take the sandwich apart just to eat it more comfortably. I thought maybe it was just one, but both sandwiches had the same issue. Dutch crunch is usually a bit firm, but this was on another level. The mac salad and potato salad were solid for what they are, maybe a little more sour than I prefer, but still enjoyable. Huge props to the staff though. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming. The lady at the counter even apologized for the wait, but it honestly wasn't long at all, under 5 minutes for me. The person packing my order also threw in two chocolate chip cookies, which I really appreciated. I picked up a bag of Lay's Masala chips I haven't had since I was in Mumbai, excited to eat it with my sandwich. The sandwich took about 10 minutes to make and panini-press and smelled delicious. However, when I got home I immediately noticed the color and thought they had mistakenly used roast beef. I looked at some of the other reviews and their doordash image and I'm confused on what I got. The pastrami was missing the distinct reddish-pink color from brining and black bark from smoking, I'm not sure how it was prepped in-house but it tasted like roast beef. I did enjoy the blueberry jam and pepperoncini combo.
