    Vegan Tofu fried rice

5/5 Sukho Thai never disappoints! I ordered the Tom Kha, Vegan Fried Rice, Crab Fried Rice, and Beef Pad Kee Mao, and every single dish was cooked to absolute perfection. The flavors were rich, balanced, and so delicious -- like a whole symphony on my taste buds. The Tom Kha was creamy and comforting, the Beef Pad Kee Mao had the perfect spicy kick, and both fried rices were packed with flavor. You can really taste the freshness and love in every bite. Yummy doesn't even begin to describe it. Although I got our food to go, the service was excellent, and fast, and I got to enjoy a little bit of ambience that was beautifully Thai exotic -- from the wall art and paintings to the unique furniture and stunning ceiling lamp fixtures. It truly feels like a little escape to Thailand the moment you walk in. Highly recommend for anyone craving amazing, authentic Thai food and a cozy, vibey atmosphere. I'll definitely be back!

Literally everything was perfect until I got down to my last bites and realized there were bugs in my rice. This was really an unfortunate situation and I hope they can really take from this and consider checking their food or storage routine. I'm really sad to say this but I can't trust dining here again.

I've been trying to find a new Thai spot cause my favorite one closed. This by far is the best one in the area. Everything is so well seasoned and will be coming back often. I ordered the roti with yellow curry sauce and pork pad Thai. Again very well seasoned. The roti isn't super greasy like others I've tried. I personally like sweeter pad thai so this is perfect. It's not super sweet but I've had some with almost no flavor and all color. The price is a bit more expensive than others but well worth it for great food. Service is a bit slow only because the served looks young and new but I'm in no rush and again she seems new. Place is clean and lit will, great atmosphere.

Came here on a Thursday evening and it was pretty empty. We got the angel wings as an appetizer since stuffed wings seemed like an interesting concept. They were pretty good. I also got the Kao Soi as my main dish which is my go to at Thai places. I didn't love the initial sweetness in taste (the spicier flavors came as an aftertaste) but it was still pretty solid. Overall, I would return.

Back then, it was located on the main floor of a hotel on Geary St. in the heart of Union Square, back when downtown SF was a bustling and busy epicenter of the most beautiful cities in the world. From there, I went back for all my special occasions: anniversaries, birthdays, celebrations. One day, the lease was up, and you found your new permanent home in Oakland. The vibes and atmosphere changed, but the food remained just as iconic. Unfortunately, it was now at least 1 hour commute for me by public transportation, so I stopped going consistently. Now, you are closing your doors after 30 years of serving your vegan community. Some say that it is another casualty of the decline of veganism. Some say that it was inevitable. But I say, give me a list of restaurants in the Bay Area that have survived 30+ years, even with a cross-bay relocation. And ESPECIALLY for a vegan restaurant. I call that a success. I went for the last time this week and ordered the 5-course chef's tasting menu PLUS 2 additional appetizers. As expected, everything was absolutely delicious. Those crusted fried mushroom appetizers are so divine. The BBQ Tempeh melted in your mouth. I will miss it all so. There have been too many times in recent years when my favorite vegan restaurant announces its closure, and I've been heartbroken one too many times. Wishing the staff of Millennium all the best and that this isn't the final chapter. I look forward to what Chef Eric Tucker and his team will do next, and we will be there to support you all when that happens.

The ambiance was warm, cozy, and elegant without feeling overly formal, and every dish we tried was thoughtful and beautifully prepared. Service was super quick too. So glad we got to experience it before the doors close. Definitely a memorable anniversary dinner for us.

I should've taken a picture of the items we ordered for the appetizer since it was a three portion combo plate, but the pictures are below! Ambience was very relaxed and I really like how there was a half steps down into a little patio area so it seemed like you were almost underground, but you could see out. Things changed: more breading on the chicken (spicy crispy chicken) and reduced protein in some of the other dishes, too. But the flavors still hit and its popularity hasn't dimmed much on the nights I've gone over the last few years. I bought their cookbook years back but much of what I like isn't in it, so I keep coming back for the food and community vibes. There is a communal table, which I appreciate though I tend to sit at the bar when I go alone. It's worth it to get a view of what's happening all around you. The B S in Alameda doesn't have the same energy or coziness, but it is easier to access with safer parking (now windows broken there but I've had that here and been hassled walking to/from) and dramatically shorter waits. The diversity of the diners is much lower than this one though (Alameda is still mostly old white people) and the menu has more options here, so I'll continue to return again and again and recommend it to others ... and hope to not have to replace car windows.

I got it "for here," but it came in foil instead of a plate. Since I was splitting it with my spouse, he requested that it be cut in half. Big mistake. The Crunch Wrap was not crunchy enough to hold up when I lifted my half. I expected a little to fall out because I've split burritos before, but this one was so messy I needed 3 napkins. It was uncomfortable to eat because I was so worried about spilling. In terms of flavor, I thought it was fine. It was a little spicy, though otherwise a bit muted. The vegan meat tasted like a decent alternative to meat (since very little meat will achieve the Impossible Burger standard). The crunch came from the tortilla chips inside, which I liked. The filling was substantial, which is nice, though this might have contributed to making it harder to eat. Given how much food we spilled and the number of napkins we used, I was disappointed that they didn't have a compost bin. Overall, I thought the place was all right. The Crunch Wrap was more of a "Soft Wrap," so if I did come back, I'd choose something else. I hope they use more reusable plates in the future because that would've made it easier for me to eat at the counter. I saw photos on Yelp from other users that got plates, so I'm not sure what happened with my order. At the 22 min mark, the two groups of two behind me got their food before I did, so I went up to the worker behind the bar and asked if my order was ready and I was told mine would be next. All in all- took 32 mins. So again, if you have somewhere to be- order ahead! Food was good. Could definitely tell it was made fresh to order - not only because it took some time but because my friend cauliflower came out PIPING hot. Lots of oil drippings, so if that isn't your thing, may not be for you, but I will say that it was my fav bite. This was a good restaurant- I would say 4 stars for the food alone. BUT if you're in a pinch, either order online or maybe save this spot for when you have more time. Also- I know that good quality food is pricey, this place is no exception.
