This is a good neighborhood Chinese. The waiters are polite and the service prompt. We ordered several items but none really was out of this world but none was bad either. it is more of a 3.8 review. What bothered me was the rather monochord flavor lacking spice , sweetness or simply some umami. I asked for some hot sauce but that did not help much either.

Went here for my birthday on recommendation from a friend. Had the chicken and shrimp potstickers. OMG! So delicious! And the hot and sour soup was amazing as well. I also had a chicken dish which was very good. My daughter had the Ma Po Tofu. Will definitely be back. I don't have a picture of the pot stickers. Too busy eating them.

I arrived spontaneously last Friday telling my angel to have a parking space opened up right in front if I was to eat at Lin Jias. And sure enough, there was a space right in front waiting for me. Amazing since the restaurant was packed, with every table full and people standing waiting for orders or to be seated. I ordered the Generals chicken as it is Mary organic chicken and less spicey than the kFC A meat dish is about $21 Then I ordered the east broccoli stir fry which I was around $16. Plus a side of brown rice. The veggies were fresh. The service was excellent. It was a lot of food per dish that I had leftovers. The lady was so nice to top my boxed leftovers with more brown rice. I had a pleasant experience. The food digested blissfully.

I ordered the wonton soup to go and it was so comforting and delicious!! I had a long day and this really hit the spot. The wontons are flavorful and soft- and all the veggies are cooked to perfection. Also has a good veggie to wonton ratio. I added some chili crisp to mine and it was toooooo good. I definitely will be picking this up for dinner again. Also --the staff was really nice!! I had my hands full because I picked this up on my way back from Trader Joe's and the server opened the door for me so I could walk through without a struggle. I really appreciated it. Kindness goes a long way :)

Absolutely hands down the best noodle dish in the Bay Area! The dish- Spicy Canton Noodles. I have extolled this dish before, but I need to add that over the years, this dish has remained consistently excellent. I will travel miles to get it. Lin Jai is a contemporary twist on Chinese cuisine and very creative. Service is always friendly and efficient. Usually, I get it with shrimp, but this time, I tried it with pork... just as good. The noodles are large, 'beefy', delicious, and seared perfectly, with a slight char. The other ingredients just add substance and further d flavor to the dish, including the vegetables. It's hard to adequately describe this dish as it is complex. It just does meld so well together. The spicy level is moderate, and I typically request extra spice. It remains an amazing dish. Try it!

Back again, I have to say this place still deserves a five star rating. The menu changes periodically, and the dishes are always such an amazing array of flavors, textures and aromas. This was a birthday lunch with a friend and we dug deep and ordered - almost everything, that looked good. We had Hakka Fresh Rolls, Won Ton Soup with shrimp, Papaya Salad, Clear Noodles with Shrimp, and Changsha Beef. This was an amazing meal and the only thing preventing us from ordering or eating more was our full bellies. Everything was fresh, colorful and incredibly flavorful. This place is my go to when I want something that feels good to the body and the soul!

I haven't been here for a long time. The food was very good. I really liked the fact that they had okra. It is my favorite vegetable and hardly anyone has it. I really enjoyed everything else. The service was good and the restaurant was nice and clean. I will be back.

I have been here a couple of times; once dine in and once for takeout! This place is became one of our new favorite spots. All the staff work really hard and are so friendly and attentive. The food tastes so clean and there is nothing we didn't like. We had never noodles, shrimp fried rice, shrimp rolls as take out and the take out quality is just as good as dining inside. Recommend the kfc, hot and sour soup, and a amazing noodle plate I forgot what it was called! But amazing!!!! Def must try if in the lakeshore area!!!

Enjoyed a nice meal here on Sunday night with the fam for Mother's Day. We didn't make reservations ahead of time but were seated right away. The team pointed us to a table away from the drafty door which I highly appreciated. We ordered the scallops with pea sprouts, cumin lamb, fish and rice. Everything came out quickly and tasted fresh and delicious! Service was attentive and friendly. Lots of regulars came in for takeout. The creme brûlée dessert was so good, especially with the carmelized ginger. Great spot and would definitely come back regularly!

Another must-try dish was the Special Shan Dong Dumplings, a thick-skinned dumpling filled with minced pork and vegetables. We also tried the House Special Pancake Stuffed with Leeks, a set of three pan-fried pies with a filling of chives, vermicelli, egg, and woodear mushrooms; the Dry Braised Green Beans, stir-fried with black beans and preserved vegetables; the Sautéed On-Choy; and Sliced Fish with zucchini, woodear mushrooms, peas, and carrots in a mild sauce. Overall, the dishes here came in generous portions at decent prices and made for a delicious, balanced meal. The vibe might be loud and the service rude, but the food was worth a visit!

We were immediately greeted by one of the servers, and she seated us at a table near the back. Hot tea and menus were brought to us soon after. I didn't notice any changes to the interior since our last visit. We decided to order two sets of their 3-dish dinner special ($38.95 per set). Free house soup came with the meal. Here's the breakdown on all the dishes: Curry Beef Stew - The meat was tender but on the fatty side. Tasted like it's been sitting around all day. Ginger and Onion Beef - Good flavor. The meat was tender and flavorful. Fish Fillet with Tofu - Light and surprisingly delightful. The fish fillet was tasty and so was the soft tofu. Salt and Pepper Spareribs - Taste was on point. Meatiness was decent. Szechuan Chicken - The sauce tasted a lot like the sauce in Cantonese style beef steak (a concoction of ketchup, HP sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and a few other things). Interesting, and definitely not Szechuan (or Sichuan). Scrambled Eggs with Shrimp and Yellow Chives - Pretty tasty. They only used egg yolks for the dish. Portions were moderate. Service was alright. The staff were friendly, and they refilled our tea without us asking. The total, with tax and tip, was about $107 (rice was $2.50 a bowl). Overall, A slightly above average Cantonese food experience. 3.5 stars rounding up to 4 just because they are in Chinatown.

One place people brought up is Yu Yu Za Zang. Yu Yu Za Zang is a Chinese-Korean spot on the Oakland Temescal intersection of Telegraph and 49th. The noteworthy part about the place is its jajangmyun. There are other dishes like tangsuyuk and the not as common kanjangmyun. The good parts of the place? What I remember is the guy serving me being friendly, taking my order and also running the register along with the phone. The place has an old school look, and this is kind of like an Oakland Chinese-Korean version of Shiki's if you southern Bay Area residents remember the place. I can type that this is the best jajangmyun in the East Bay even though I had maybe two others, and I don't remember the prior experiences that well. Some people type that Paik's jajangmyun is better, but for me, while Paik's has the better technique, Yu Yu's is more homey obviously. (Neither can beat this one place in Los Angeles I forgot though.) I also like how the place has the Pororo drinks because I so can't drink soju if I'm doing a solo drive. The value's actually good as well, and I wish I got the tangsuyuk. The flaws of the place? The parking's tricky. The scenario though is that a star's deducted more so because of the basic service. Yu Yu Za Zang's a good place. While it does have it's there service, its food and drinks make up for the bother. Bay Area folks and non-Bay Area folks, go here for some really good jajangmyun! +/Yu Yu Za Zang makes me think internally "Yay, the place is in the zone!" because of the friendly guy being a one man wrecking crew up front and a batch of really good food and drinks overall. -/The basic service turns its opportunity for a perfect score to ash.
