We walked in at 6pm on a Sunday night, and got seated right away. We got the papaya salad, duck larb and curry puff. Our favorite was the duck larb, curry puff , then papaya salad. My friend loves the duck so much, that he ate most of it. I also got Thai ice tea with vegan milk. That's nice surprise, since I'm lactose intolerant. Our favorite item we've had so far on the menu is the Sakoo appetizer. It is these mochi-like dumplings with a filling of peanuts and mushrooms. It is served with a lettuce wrap in individual leaf dishes for the perfect photo before you eat. The most recent time we visited they had a pork spare rib special that we loved as well. The dish was essentially a full rack of ribs that truly was fall-off-the-bone tender and was served with sticky rice and a sweet tamarind sauce. They offer wine and beer, including a Chinese craft jasmine tea lager. We loved the friendly staff and the lamps hanging from the ceiling are really neat with their wooden fish 'shade'. The rolls are taste really fresh and come with two excellent sauces: a creamy peanut dip and a chili-lime mix that has just a bit of bite to it. Pro tip from my waitress: spoon a little of both onto each roll. The pad see ew comes with a fairly large portion of wide rice noodles, which are satisfyingly chewy and well-toasted. They add carrots, which I haven't seen before, and unceremoniously cram some salad on the edge of the plate, but it's otherwise a fantastic dish. The new menu and higher prices must be going to their remodel. Awful, and I do mean awful duck larb salad. Weird chewy yet bone filled duck that I couldn't eat. It just sat on my plate while I ate their sour tasting salad and thought about the japanese place across the street. I didn't even bother with the mango sticky rice because I felt it would be a disappointment, and a hit to my wallet. Like multiple punches from Tyson. My friend's teriyaki chicken thing tasted like the one you get at the mall. You know the one where they chase you down and try to give you a small sample of chicken on a toothpick? Crispy sticky rice - this reminds me of the laos sticky rice my friend makes and i absolutely love it so i would highly recommend this! Drunken Noodle - you can't go wrong with drunken noodle. I'm from LA so most of the Thai food we have isn't as elevated. It was really nice to see different types of Thai food outside of your typical Drunken Noodle, Satay skewers, etc. It also almost felt like some of the dishes were fused with Cambodian, Laos, and other southeastern Asian cuisines. The newly remodeled Nua restaurant has some pros and cons. I've been here 4 times since the name changed to Nua with new remodel. I tried ordering the same as well as different dishes with friends, so have a good idea on their consistency. I'm finally reviewing this restaurant as fairly and generously as possible. Pros: Friendly and fast/hard working waitress on a Sat night; nice lighting with Edison bulbs, no fluorescent lighting; comfortable atmosphere;good noodle dishes. Cons: Only 1 waitress on a Sat night waiting on over 25 people (~ 10 tables full out of 15?); plastic flowers on the tables; loud with no sound dampeners; The rest of the food is mediocre at best. Dishes are not seasoned well and abviously too many shortcuts taken. If wanting to try this restaurant, I recommend their lunches over dinners, with overpriced "specials." I much prefer Charm down the street, Bangkok by the Bay near 6th st/Ashby in Berkeley. Both have much better atmosphere. Bangkok is a large and sophisticated venue and Charm is tiny with many windows surrounding it. I love the parking availability at night at BBB. For no atmosphere, crowded tables but awesome food, Thai Table is great. read more

The sauce has the perfect consistency; it wasn't too watery. Massamun short rib The meat was soft and fell right off from the bone. The curry was delicious and rich. It was perfect to go with rice. Nua BBQ The grilled pork was juicy and flavorful. The sticky rice was aromatic and everything tasted great with the sauce. Pad Thai Saucy but not soggy. Flavor is on point. Basil with Chicken This dish has a beautiful oil shine to it when served. Flavorful but on the saltier side; perfect with rice as well. Mango Sticky Rice Portion is much smaller than i thought. The roti was crispy, chewy, and the yellow curry was delicious. Glad we ordered the extra roti because the 2 kids and 2 adults in our party inhaled the appetizer. The khao soi was really excellent - flavorful and they present it with a trio of chili options. The noodles were the perfect level of al dente chewiness. The mustard greens on the side were just the right mix of sour and salty in addition to the lime wedge and red onion slices that come with the dish. We also enjoyed the pad see ew which was not too salty or too sweet as it is at some Thai restaurants. This place took over Pla Dek, so my spouse and I decided to check it out. The inside looks pretty similar to the previous place, which is smart because it costs less in terms of money and waste. When I went about a week ago, it had a soft opening menu. The two of us ordered a few items to share and didn't have any leftovers. The Sai Oua Croquette had a good crisp. The flavor of the patty was light. I found it to be spicy, but I can't really handle spicy food. The server said this location intentionally lowered the spice in the menu compared to other locations, so spice lovers probably won't think this is spicy enough. When we ordered the Shortribs Noodle, they clarified it came with egg noodles, which is different from the menu. However, I do think the egg noodles is a better fit for the flavor profile than rice noodles. The meat was tasty, and the dish was pretty flavorful, though by the end it got a bit too heavy for me. We also had Mango Sticky Rice for dessert. They made it with pandan, so this was different from the typical dessert. The mango was soft and was lightly sweet. I would've liked the rice to be a bit drier and less soft to provide a bigger contrast, though it was still good. The sauce on the top was a tasty addition. The server was really nice. I like that they use reusables (especially the reusable chopsticks, which is rare) and am interested in coming back to try their other dishes. First time coming here and we had wonderful experience. It's a pretty restaurant, beautifully decorated with relaxing colors and natural elements. Our waitress was so attentive and friendly. The Crispy Rice Ball salad was AMAZING, very flavorful and great texture throughout. We also enjoyed the Crispy Tom Yum Calamari and the Praram. Can't wait to come back again and try their other specialties. read more
