When we first moved in four years ago, cleaning staff cleaned the buildings once a week at least. Now it's no more than once a month. Because of consistent illegal marijuana usage issues around the community, cleaning would be pretty important, to say the least. Terrible daytime customer service in the leasing office in general, and lots of turnover. Although Asma was wonderful. And maintenance team was fabulous. No flexibility on move-out issues, very rude daytime leasing staff. We didn't even bother doing an exit interview. Wrote and turned in a scathing Notice to Vacate with keys. Good riddens. read more

I am a current resident and has resided in the DMV area for over 4 years. My roommate and I both got into long term relationships and decided to move into separate apartments. We chose Sullivan Place because of the location, the way it looked on the outside (bad idea) and its seemingly luxury appeal. I thought it was a great place because it was chic and welcoming, and not priced bad at all (boy did I not think of the extra fees). I have been living on this property for approximately 7 months (the main building) and sadly to say, I can't wait to leave. Well, Let me start with the good, very nice amenities (pool, theater, gym, coffee, dog wash, basket ball court), free exercise classes. Office Staff is pretty nice (although you get the run around every now and then). Neighbors are mostly friendly and not really noisy or anything out of the ordinary. Grounds are clean. Maintenance is quick. Very pet friendly. Grounds Staff are EXTREMELY nice, and though they speak little English, they are the nicest people you could meet. In my head we are all best friend although my Spanish doesn't go far past HOLA and Gatos in los Pantelones. Now I will let you know why I am giving this facility 3 stars: 1) Poor Construction. The floors are weak in a lot of spots (in the halls) and if you are not careful you will crack your ankle right in half. I have had near accidents, I don't know if that means the floor is rotted or what but I have put in a request and I have not heard anything back. I should have taken heed when the cable guy told me that this place was in horrible condition on the day of my installation. 2) Fees. Like I said living in the DMV area I am used to pricey establishments, but for what you pay here (its not that grand considering the construction), its a little over priced. Below you will find an example of my monthly charges taken from the online bill pay portal. (I have a one bedroom with loft in the main building) 1/1/2014 Water/Sewer Reimb 11/01/2013 - 11/30/2013 (1/1/2014) $38.65 1/1/2014 Pest Control 11/01/2013 - 11/30/2013 (1/1/2014) $3.00 1/1/2014 Trash Reimbursement $28.00 1/1/2014 Storage Space $50.00 1/1/2014 Rent $1,802.00 As you see you have to pay for pest control, whether you call or not. 3) Poor Construction. Did I say this already? Although the shell looks really nice (depending on what you are used too) this place can really fool you. 4) Break Ins and Thefts: Cars are broken into (in the secure garage), vandals break the "fob" access doors and then break into storage units, and the basketball court, and homes. To top it off, they never put out anything to let you know. Check the crime statistics, this area is not all that great. The store right infront of the complex was robbed on Halloween so you can't go into it after 11pm you have to talk to someone through a window. I really can't put into words everything that has made me turn off from this apartment. But word for the wise, please look deep before you jump in. Its not all bad, I wouldn't even say that, its just not good. for 1900 rent you could get a nice place some where else and have a piece of mind. TRUST ME. read more

Great place to live...great community...lots of planned events and more than dog friendly. I am able to walk the baby around the complex feeling safe and secure. There is a Panera bread in the front making it easy for nights you do not want to cook I love to use the dry cleaners in front also...the woman there is so friendly and is direct about what they can and cant do regarding alterations. I can NEVER find any packing here. After coming home from work being stressed out, after the traffic im even more stressed out and then I come home and there is no parking at all. Its so frustrating. Everyone I talk to there deals with it. Recently I had a flower delivery at the front desk and they didnt even bother to call me. The flowers rotted and molded. It was so sad because my dad who is 3500 miles away from me sent them to me and my sister, mind you I havent seen him in over a year. Im not happy with the parking and the management. I love my apartment but its just not worth it. I never use the amenities besides the pool however you can only use the pool before 4:30 otherwise the building blocks the sunlight. Fail. read more

I have lived in many different apartments with many different management companies, and this one has been my worst experience to date! It's not necessarily the companies fault, it's the office staff that runs this particular property. They are incapable of handling daily operations and customer service. I previously worked in property management for 13 yrs., and am astonished with how poorly these folks manage this property. Everything was fine when I moved in, apartment was nice and clean, good condition, and my leasing agent (Becki) was great! A few months into my lease is when things went downhill. I had billing issues to where they charged me for utilities even though I had all my accounts setup before I moved in. The account manager (Alex) was able to fix it, however, he did not know how to speak to people so he was a bit rude and seemed to also hide behind the computer if you know what I mean. I setup an appointment to speak to him, and he completely disregarded it and wasn't even in the office for our scheduled meeting. I also made him aware that the call box for my building hadn't worked since I moved in. It still doesn't work. I can't let anyone into the building such as guests, and food delivery guys. Complete pain. His response was that he doesn't even know which boxes in the community work, and that it will take maintenance a while to do a survey and get them fixed. Let's see, (Aly) a leasing agent has a complete attitude every time I come to the office, (don't ask her to get your package, that's beneath her, she's too good for that) and (Amera) should not be a manager, she doesn't have the knowledge. (Keenan) in leasing is great, very helpful! Next problem I had was with my front door lock. The apts. and building doors are all on the electronic keys, so the batteries die on occasion, we all understand this. I had been living in my apartment for about 5 months, and my front door lock failed three times and I was not able to lock my door. I called emergency maintenance the first time it happened, and they were completely useless because it was a call center and they said all they could do was put in a service ticket, they couldn't page or call the maintenance staff. Well hello, I can do that myself! I need someone ASAP for I can't leave my apt because I can't lock my door! The second time it happened, I put in a service request and called the office so they could get to it immediately, but apparently that message did not get to the maintenance staff because they left my door unlocked for 3 hours while I wasn't home! The third time it happened was when my dog walker came to walk my dog, she couldn't get in because the lock had died. So mgmt. had to let her in, and they had to re-lock my door after she told them she was finished.......that didn't happen. My dog walker told them, but they didn't tell maintenance, so my door was left open again for 3 hours while I wasn't home! No apology or anything from mgmt.! Unacceptable! The next problem I had was with the package system, Parcel Pending lockers. These are great, I've used them in other apartment communities and also worked with them when I worked in property mgmt.! First off, they give the carriers the option to go door to door and deliver packages....mind you this is a controlled access community and the carriers don't have a key to get in the buildings. So some carriers manage to get in the buildings, and leave your package at your door, others just throw your package where ever they feel like it (literally had to go searching for my package on more than one occasion), and even some return your package. This has been a complete headache since the very first package I received at the community, and I get a lot of packages! And some delivery guys that actually use the lockers like their supposed to, smash your package to fit it in the locker. They do this because there is not enough lockers for the size of the community. I wrote a written suggestion/complaint to mgmt. in August 2018 to have them install more lockers......they sent out a notice back in December saying they were going to install more lockers in March......it's now June.....still no lockers. The next problem I've noticed is that they do not have any grounds staff. Usually communities hire a maintenance guy to maintain the grounds make sure trash is picked up and fix things that are broken such as bldg. doors, railings, garage doors, and street lamps. Landscaping is atrocious, and the grass gets cut only when it reaches a foot high. Nothing is ever fixed unless I put a service request in for it. Lastly, elevators are always broken! Currently my elevator has been out for a month now! I would not suggest this property to anyone unless a whole new staff came in! Oh, and my apt stays at a set 80 degrees even in the middle of winter! Never had to use my heat once! Complained twice, to no avail. I have more, but ran out of characters in the form. I moved in a couple of months ago and my experience has been excellent so far. When I've had to communicate with the staff they treated me well, answered my questions, and provided whatever I needed. I had a couple of minor maintenance issues when I first moved in and they were all promptly and professionally taken care of. The units are spacious and the amenities are nice, especially the gym. This is my first time in an apartment as an adult and coming from home and condo ownership and downsizing, this is perfect for me. A few things that might bother some people. The floors are wooden in the living area so you may hear people above you walking. I am fortunate in that the person or people above me are fairly quiet. I rarely hear anyone on either side so the walls must be okay or I have really quiet neighbors. Overall, I am loving the place. read more

I moved into Sullivan Place at the beginning of October, and was a little worried about it after some of the reviews I had read. I was happy to find that none of the poor reviews were anything like the property. First - the place is quiet! While there are a lot of people, my neighbors are nice, respectful, and I have no issues with noise on any side of the apartment. The entire complex is always spotless, both inside and out. Parking is fine, as the management is excellent at enforcing the parking regulations. The best part about the place is the customer service. Ms. Carolyn Dino has been professional, courteous and welcoming for every question and issue I have brought up. You could not ask for better customer service! Having moved frequently for the military, this is by far the best run apartment place I have had the pleasure of living in. Thank you Carolyn for making this such a positive experience! read more

**Update Feb 18th** Management has rectified my afore mentioned complaints by transferring me into another available unit. The second unit has mostly minor pre-existing/wear & tear damage: i.e., chipped formica countertop, chipped baseboard, chipped porcelain on the bathroom sink, rough/textured surface inside the bathroom drawers & warped floor boards in the kitchen. I also found out the section of the building I was transferred to does not have a trash chute -- the reason cited by mgt was because it is a bottom/ground floor unit. So apparently I will have to drag my garbage up one floor to dispose of it in the 2nd floor trash chute, or cart my garbage from my unit to the outside dumpster, which is about 40+ yards from my unit. Note all residents pay a $30 trash fee. One last thing: parking has been a nightmare. The surrounding businesses soak up most of the available parking garage spaces during the day & evening. I had to lug my groceries from the 3rd level of the parking garage to my unit. There are no elevators in the garage. The garage has six levels and if you have the misfortune of having to park on level 3 or above enjoy the walk down and up to your car. Overall I am improving my 1 star rating to 2 stars mainly due to being transferred to another unit. I do see the transfer as an effort by management to accommodate me, however the replacement unit is not a luxury apartment by any stretch of the imagination. I will not renew at the end of my lease term. **************************************************************************** As of today I have been a renter at Sullivan Place for approximately 5 days. I made the HUGE mistake of deciding to rent a 1 bdrm apartment from this place. First I was never informed the unit I would be renting was not in the main building where all the amenities (gym, business center, pub, & easy access to the garage) are located. In addition, the unit has pre-existing damage and an unpleasant odor. During the initial move-in walk through I noted pre-existing damage, uncleanliness, and cheap/outdated appliances. The unit had to be re-cleaned due to a dirty microwave (found a hair in it), kitchen & bathroom drawers were dirty, and as mentioned there was an unpleasant odor in the unit--smelling of stale smoke + some pungent perfume. There is water damage to the sink/island cabinetry, as well water damage in the bathroom --vanity & cabinets and flooring. As stated, the unit overall is dated (Formica counters, old white appliances--fridge, stove, & microwave, and a linoleum bathroom floor--hideous) and far from anything luxury not worth the rent rate of $1675. I am counting down the days until I can vacate. Within 1 day of renting the unit, I have already submitted my notice to vacate. Please beware and do what I should have --pass on renting at the Sullivan Place totally not worth it. read more

My husband and I were looking to renew our lease for another year but got slightly discouraged when we realized our monthly rent was going to increase. Keenan in the front office was there to help explain our monthly rundown and found ways to help us cut back on our rent! Let me start out by providing a little of my background. I am a travel nurse that works third shift (the shift is huge deal with apartment living). I have stayed in multiple apartments, good and terrible, throughout the United States. I'm not a professional when it comes to apartments, but have too much experience in this matter. I'm not going to sit hear and debate others reviews either. I just wish to tell you my experience hear a the Sullivan Place. I have been living at the Sullivan Place for a little over a year. I have been in the DMV for 5 years (kind of long for a travel nurse, but fortunately for me the health care here in the area is in high demand for nurses). I have never in my entire career or life lived at a place like this ever. (Attention: you will sense some Sarcasm soon!) They have everything that looks luxurious and amenities that one would ever possibly need. Then they have the audacity to maintain the property and amenities. What apartment complex does that? They also provide dinners and fitness classes free? That is absurd! They actually provide stuff for free? They keep the grounds manicured and the charcoal grills right out side my door in proper working condition! They changed them this past summer? Why would an apartment do such a thing? Wait, it's a safety thing and they needed to be changed. We do have break ins here like every other apartment complex in DC and they tell us as soon as it is known. What apartment complex does such a thing? If it wasn't for the properly placed and high tech camera system the person would have had more than a few hours on the run or get away with everything. Poor criminal. Why would an apartment care so much? I'm not being woken by unannounced maintenance entries or outlandish noises while I attempt to sleep during the day or night. That is totally crazy! The maintenance men are always on the grounds and improving things daily to make a better place of living. Why would they do that? They already have my lease and money? Oh.... wait! (Sarcasm now ending for those who become confused easily) Because they actually care about the people that live here! They maintaine the grounds better than any apartment complex I have ever encountered. They are always amazing, friendly, and very knowledgeable when I go to the office for anything that I need. They have the best coustomer service I have ever encountered! They try to maintain security and provide adequate lighting outside so you're not walking in the dark and things are safer. They have video cameras set up to catch those do try to be that "Lone Ranger" (which have been very minimal). It has proven to be effective and they also announce any issues to everyone so we can be on the watch out as to not be in a compromising situation. Any issue in my apartment (which has been very minimal at the most) or on the property has been take care of expeditiously and professional! Ok, let look at that.... "professionally", that means they didn't just rig something up or place a bandaid on the problem. It was actually fixed! Parking, name one place in The DMV area that parking isn't a issue unless you live in east bumble! The Parking is tight, but there is always somewhere to park. Plus you can get a reserved parking spot for those of us with crazy hours. I have had very little issues with parking and that includes visitors. They provide classes to residents and dinners as well for free. They even have movie nights in their cinema at time for residents. And let's not forget the awesome pool with life guards! Yes, paid life guards that actually maintains more safety! All of this without extra erroneous fees! Amazing isn't it? I have been blown away by the professionalism and attentiveness myself. When looking at the reviews of an establishment you have to consider those that have a bad experience due to not paying their rent on time or those that have this higher sense of entitlement. People with their hand out wanting something given to them when they don't follow the guidelines that they signed. Hope this helps you decide where to live! read more

I have seen stuff changes so many times, I never once had any problems with any of them till the new member arrive last year, I used to enjoy going through the lobby saying hi to the staff members now I can't even stand it I don't remember the last time I went through the lobby to say hi to anybody. Where do I start? Every door and window has such a bad draft we have to set our thermostat at 80 degrees in the winter just to keep our living room at a bearable temperature and in the summer the coolest it gets during the day is 75 degrees because of the same drafts. When calling maintenance to help with the situation they put a little rubber padding around the door and say there is no problem with the windows. We pay $2,800 a month only to have our utility bills inflated by drafty doors and windows. Then in month 7 of living here we had an ant infestation that, at the time of writing this, still has yet to be resolved after roughly 3 weeks. I have had to pick ants of my 1.5 year old son and have had them crawling all over our dinner table. Sullivan Place has done little to help with the problem and showed 0 urgency when contacting. To be fair they did send pest control out and had a manager come check the place, but after they returned 3 days later I have yet to talk with a manager, and have only been passed around and given general information via email. Lastly, the location is terrible and there are no amenities for parents with young kids, unless you enjoy your child playing in poop and pee filled grass. A huge regret of having spent $2,800 a month to live here. read more

The worst management you could have for your property. I need to meditate for about 10 min each time I need to stop by the office so I won't get angry or upset. They seem just not to care, they doing me a huge favor talking to me. At least maintains guys are cool, always come on time, maybe because the request is done online, not through the office. I recently had a terrible experience before even moving into this complex. After touring Sullivan's Place, I decided to put in my application for a unit I was interested in. My application got accepted and I paid a security deposit to hold the unit until my move-in date. 30 days before my move-in date, I received orders for a permanent change of station and had to cancel my application. When I called the leasing office, I was told that not only will I not get my security deposit back but that I am "financially responsible for the unit until it is rented out". I called several numbers/individuals, including corporate, and got the runaround. Forfeiting my security deposit is one thing but being financially responsible for a place I wasn't even scheduled to move into until 30 days is absurd. A few days later they decided to not hold me financially responsible for the unit but then they charged me an additional $500 "cancellation fee". Again, absurd. Nowhere in my lease does it state anything about a cancellation fee prior to moving in and I was not informed of this upon applying. In my search for a new place closer to my new station, I brought up this scenario with several different apartments and every single one of them told me that they've never heard anything like this and that you should be able to walk away from the unit prior to you moving in with no penalty, especially given that I gave 30 days notice BEFORE my move in date. This review is not simply because of the cancellation fee but also because of how I was treated from the staff there after I mentioned I needed to cancel my lease. The attitude drastically change the second I called and said I needed to cancel. At that point, everyone was rude I had no sympathy for the fact that actively in the military and this was 100% out of my control. At the end of the day, I am still human and was not treated as such. Beckie was excellent! I moved across the country and she made my process seamless. Even though she was not working the Saturday I moved in she left everything for me with the weekend staff! Later the following week I contacted her for a tour and to address a few other concerns and questions and she was right there and had no issue walking nearly the entire property with me! I did a lot of looking around before I moved here and compared to the other apartment complexes I saw none came close the amenities here and customer service they showed me. At first I didn't understand the visitor parking ticket station but it's really helped make resident space availability a priority. I've heard they're upgrading the gym soon. It's not outdated but I can't wait to see the new gym when it's done. Walking to Panera to study is really convenient too. I'll definitely be renewing my lease in a couple more months. read more

We just moved in a couple weeks ago and so far everything has been great! The apartment was super clean and newly painted and carpeted. I still can't get over how quiet it is!! It's so nice to not be able to hear all my neighbors like I did at all my previous apartments. I was nervous about moving here from Atlanta and trying to handle all the details and lease documents long distance, but the leasing staff could not have been more accommodating. Keenan was FANTASTIC! He helped me take care of all the paperwork and always responded super fast to all of my questions (even on his days off!). His willingness to go above-and-beyond to help me feel comfortable with my out of state move, alleviated all my anxiety and allowed me to get excited about my new adventure. I want to give Amera a shoutout too! I didn't have the opportunity to work with her much, but she was wonderful!! The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is we haven't moved in yet... This review is solely based off customer service, comfort, cleanliness and overall first impressions. I've been in here twice and both times I could feel the warmth of this place and staff. The people in the common areas are also extremely friendly. Also, let me add how wonderful Rebecca (leasing staff) is.. I've never wanted to or felt the need to stay in a place that I'm simply looking at more than a 30 min. I was there maybe 2hrs and I signed my lease on the spot mostly based off her customer service. Lived there for a year and the place was a nightmare. They use the cheapest GE appliances the Dishwasher always leaked, to the point that it warped the laminate. The toilet from the floor above me leaked and dirty toilet water flooded the hallway and both bedroom carpets to include the closet carpet. Mold grew in the carpet and I am guessing on the wood carpet strips, as well as the laminate flooring in the hallway. Made many attempts to have the issue fixed while I lived there and it never was. Informed management and maintenance that the laminate and the carpets in both bedrooms needed to be replaced because of the flooding from the toilet above and nothing was ever done. Now the place is charging me for carpet cleaning when the carpets need to be replaced. They expect people to live in toilet water infested carpet and flooring. The apartment that this took place in was 5589 Callcott Way Unit 1008. would not surprise me if this is how they handle all their apartment issues. I have pictures of all the mold and damage caused by the toilet leak if anyone would like to see them. read more

I signed a 6 months lease with this place and thank god I did because if would have stayed here another month I would have pulled all my hair out. This place to put it nicely is a dump. It looks good on the outside but once you live here its a totally different story. Ridiculously over priced! I was paying 2k a month for a 1 bedroom that was not even renovated because I needed a place fast at the time. During my first 1 week they cut the gas and electricity on me because the previous tenant had not paid theirs. There was a gas leak in the house and Washington Gas had to come and put a label on it saying it was a hazard to make use of the gas in the apt. There was water leakage that took place that damaged my carpets. I found LIVE RATs and DEAD RATs in the apt, there are bugs and insects all over the place. The apartment complex is dark/gloomy and depressing. The surrounding area is extremely loud and noisy, you can't get any sleep because people pull up to the gas station with their 18 wheelers every day. The staff members running this place leave much to be desired. The only staff member that was useful in any shape or form was Moses other then him all others just came to came to collect a paycheck. When I moved out I was charged 250 buck for not brining in the parking sticker (it is literally a sticker) when I clearly dropped it in their dropbox! They charged me an additional 225 for "reglazing countertops" The apartment complex had no countertops to be reglazed, it wasn't renovated. We left that apartment spotless! This is ridiculous and should be illegal to conduct this type of business. read more

Caveat emptor. Don't do it. First things first: get everything in writing. Get clarification for your fees, what you're responsible for when you move out, etc. We just moved out after 15 months in a 2BR/2BA. I will say that everyone is pretty friendly (staff/maintenance-wise), so that's nice. But, they will CHARGE YOU FOR EVERYTHING. Want a parking spot? $25/mo please. And that's just for the first car. Want to use the facilities - which should be free, you pay a huge amount of rent and a "facilities fee" up front? Oh, sure, you can use them for $20-$500/use. Super sketchy water/sewer charges, which have the exact same readings, but are priced out differently? Explain that to me, please. No? Okay, well, I need water, so I guess I will keep paying it. But the elevators seem to go out a lot, and the apartment door locks will also go out (they're all electronic). We lived on the 2nd floor in the main building, and could hear our upstairs neighbors screaming at each other, and many worrisome bumps at night. We called the police a few times. Also, other residents will smoke in the stairwells and leave cigarette butts (and dog poop sometimes! Yay!) in the stairwells and on the balcony over the garage. Also, someone smokes a lot of weed because the hallways and stairwells just reek. Pretty much, people are assholes. Trash in the hallways, emergency exit signs trashed, etc. The parking deck is "secure," but there was recently a spate of car break-ins (all on the fourth floor...), where cars had their windows smashed and all four tires removed. Go big or go home, right? All in the middle of the night, when you apparently can't get in without a key card. Suuuure. Found another car on blocks on the public streets running around the community too. Doubt the lone security guard would do much if they caught the person in the act. The list of stuff they will charge you for when you move out is huge, and they preface all this by saying, "Hey, you can pay us and we will clean your carpets and clean everything so you don't have to! Pay us $150-$250!" So, just beware....the lease is very vague (smart, apartment lawyers, smart) about what you have to do to move out. You must get everything essentially professionally cleaned on your own dime or they will charge you. WHY DO I PAY ALL THESE FEES THEN? I've never had to clean my apartment before moving out...never. And I've lived in a lot of apartments. Yet another charge that gets tacked on to your rent. We painted three walls in the apartment, with the understanding that we'd have to paint them back to their original color when we leave, or we'd be charged. Got it. Didn't want to get charged $100/wall (ridiculous), so we did it ourselves. Got the right paint colors and everything from the maintenance people. Took two coats, because the paint is super cheap. But did that. Then, we get a final move-out bill for $350 for the walls, saying that we smoked in the apartment. Excuse me, what? We don't smoke, never have, and there are no photos for evidence that show there is smoke damage to the walls. When we painted, we also went around to all other walls and painted over any scuffs, etc. If they're charging us for a single scuff on a wall, I'm going to have a (even bigger) cow. They also charged us $125 for four damaged mini-blinds. Again, no photos of any damage. I know for certain our cat ate a 3-inch section of one blind, but not four. We were sent photos of the half down blinds (damage is at the very bottom of one set - so no way of telling damage). We can't address this directly with the property, so we have to call corporate. They seem super nice, and are supposedly requesting that the property provide proof of the charges. I should have insisted on an accompanied maintenance walkthrough, but I didn't follow up. My (huge) mistake. UPDATE: corporate got the smoke wall charges removed, but that's only because nothing was written down. They stayed firm on the $125 for the blinds, saying that because we ruined a part of one, they have to buy an entire set of them, so they match. I'm not sold on that argument. The nice stuff: pool is nice, and parcel pending sometimes works. Maintenance staff usually respond quickly to any issues. Gym is quite nice, and Panera is right outside the main door. There's an express bus stop to the Pentagon, and a shuttle to Van Dorn Metro. I liked the layout of our apartment, its open concept, and the big island. The bedrooms were roommate-style, which made it great for guests. There was very little storage space, so we had to get a storage locker down the road. The built-in closet drawers/shelves were great. Overall, you can get a rental property with no neighbors for the same price and less headache and hassle than Sullivan Place. read more

Horrible first impression booking a tour with the leasing office. It's almost as if they don't want business. They were not communicative at all once I arrived for a tour I had an appointment for, did not ensure security of anyone entering the buildings, and were unhelpful in every manner. Virtually gave me access to a floorplan I did not request, and they did not care to answer the phone when I called 4x while still on site. Not sure if the leasing agent I had is new or does not like his job, but this put a nasty taste in my mouth off bat and I wasn't impressed overall...Note: this is the second time me and my boyfriend tried to book a tour. The first time they completely disregarded my boyfriend's request and didn't even return his calls. Pathetic and I will definitely not be recommending...plus the walls were thin and the hallways were dirty. read more

This is my first review EVER, I moved into Sullivan Place and have had nothing but issues. My Washing machine did not work from day one and it took 4 requests and two months to fix, same with ice machine(still not fixed) They do not tell you how loud it is around the complex 24-7. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Again I have never written a review good or bad but my frustration with this place pushed me to. Not sure who Ofe is but I can not believe that his review is honest (must be on the payrole). $75 parking in a garage; quarterly parcel pending fees; trash fees; $40 pest control fees (in the winter) are just some of the ridiculous fees you will pay. You get a key fob that will go out and you will be stuck waiting for someone to charge it (weekend). I suffered through the one year lease and cleaned before I moved out. I got a $175 bill for a one bedroom loft apartment after moving out. Ridiculous! I won't recommend this place to anyone and will post my review everywhere I can. Oh, the door to your apartment is $1500 so don't get locked out and call fire department to let you in. read more

I've lived here for 6 months and was happy with the building and management, but lately things haven't been quite the same. The building's cleanliness was commendable, but it has been slacking. Upgrades like backsplash and hardwood floor are done very fast, and the increase to the rent is very fair. Whenever we've needed work, the turn around had always been 24 hours or less, but that is no longer the case. I put in a request for grout work (bathroom and kitchen tiles) on 6/3 and I'm yet to hear anything from anyone. I am blessed with quiet neighbors and have NEVER experienced a hazle with parking even though I don't pay for a reserved spot. Although I face the street, no noise comes through at night or in the am. Lately there has been a lot of screw ups with one elevator which has been down at least 6 times this year. Very aggravating! Tommy and Tyler are really good at staying on top of things, and David and Keenan are pleasant. The property really needs to invest in security as children who don't live here come in to use the basketball court and there has been issues of vandalism of elevators and vehicle break ins. There is also people who prop the doors open with objects whenever they throw parties to avoid having to buzz guests in. This is dangerous and can cause safety issues. We need security. Recently the carpets were shampooed and this is something that I do appreciate. But little things like appliances left in the hallways really upset me. It's embarrassing to bring guests to my place when kitchens and refrigerators are sitting steps away from your apartment. My morning commute is approximately 40 minutes to Columbia Pike in Arlington, and I don't have to take the highway. Most neighbors are polite and kind. I rate my experience as a C+ read more

I recently visited the Sullivan Place with my boyfriend to only "look and see" but we ended up looking and leasing. I'm super excited to move there in May. We were greeted by Keenan the leasing consultant that was the first to respond when I expressed my interest to this community online. He was very welcoming and professional from the beginning. He answered all of our questions and I never felt pressured to lease like other places I visited before. This whole entire place deserves a 5 Star. I'm looking forward to my move and I can't wait to take advantage of all the amenities that this place has to offer. read more

This is my 1st year hear at Sullivan's Place and it will be my last. I can't wait to move out. I had different circumstances when searching for a place. I was moving from California been in DC for a few days to apt search and hadn't found anything that caught my eye. Sullivan's Place looked pretty nice; then again I had only seen the outside when driving to Dulles and had to make a decision. I contacted the leasing company spoke to someone about the apartments and ended up signing a lease blind. When I arrived to DC the office was closed. A friend was able to collect the keys for me. I never had a sit down/ walk through of my apartment with a staff member, what I was given was what I had. I believe they took advantage of the fact I was coming in blind and failed to properly go over any issues I might have had. I guess I will know better this next go around. There were and still are issues with my apartment that I hope to not get blamed for. Maintenance came in when I was out of the country and fixed a few, which I appreciate, but I expect to get blamed for and charged upon move out for the other small issues that they did not fix. Parking here is a more trouble that it should be. When I am unable to park outside my own building due to guest parking in our spots it's becomes very annoying. (Trust me after my mother's rental car was towed at 4:15am I checked the surrounding cars for stickers, not everyone is a resident). When I contacted the office they told me it should not have been towed because it was a holiday weekend and they had canceled towing. When I told the office about my mother's car, I was given the response that it was no longer the weekend. It was 4:15am Monday morning. There are flyers in the common areas about parking with the flow of traffic, yet every day I see cars going every which way. Notes posted about smoking areas, yet there are butts by the mailboxes, and outside my doors. There has been dog droppings in the hallway of the main building and always a nasty smell as you enter the builing on Callcot Way The main doors to the buildings where all broken for a period of time due to vandals, leaving the residents vulnerable to non residents entering the buildings. I travel with work often and would like to know that my property is safe when I am gone. I will go one step further and say when I am sleeping at night I like to know that I am safe and will have no one entering my apartment while I am there. I have seen dead roaches in the building daily. I guess it's a plus that they are dead, but to see them daily in the stairwells is disgusting. Maybe it's because I am by the community trash dump that is constantly overflowing, none the less it is disgusting. When management changed I was alerted that Sullivan's Place had been paying my gas bill. This was the 1st time in over 7 months I had been notified of this. So I was told that I needed to switch the bill over. I have no problem doing this it is my bill, the issue I had was the 600.00 dollar bill that came all at once due lack to properly inform residents or just plan laziness. I have an email from the property manager apologizing for the issue and telling me if there is any way they can assist to let them know. When I finally received the bill and informed him about the amount, all I received was a "sorry". For the cost of rent at Sullivan's Place I would think these issues could/would be easily addressed to keep the residents happy. When I bring an issue to the management I am not given solutions I am only given "buts" I would not recommend this apt community to anyone who values quality. read more

The management at this establishment does not care and take care for its residents. I got a loaner car one day ago due to having work done on my car as a resident and returned back home to the complex at 1030 at night. This was well after the guest lots were closed and locked off for the evening. This morning I realized that my car had been towed and that I must find my way out to Lorton VA to pick up the vehicle. I was also notified that I would not be able to have the towing fee reimbursed due to the misunderstanding. Thanks Sullivan Place! You really take care of your residents that rightfully pay you each month. I'm dumbfounded by the disrespect and brush off of the issue. read more

Apartment-seekers BEWARE. This is one of the worst apartment communities I've lived in. Hallways constantly smell like dog urine, appliances are old and constantly break down. The trash compactor has been broken for months yet they still charge residents a monthly fee for it. Pay $20 for Parcel Pending yet packages are still being directly delivered to the front door and then stolen by residents. There is a rat and bug infestation that many residents have complained to management about. They do not care about tenants and only want your money. They will charge you FOR EVERYTHING and add mysterious fees to your monthly bill with no explanation. Definitely not "luxury" or worth the money. Find another apartment. read more
