Outstanding Experience I recently took my 2016 F-150 with 100,000 miles to Wayside Garage for its 100K service, and I could not be more impressed with the experience. From the very beginning, Jacob was fantastic. The night before I brought the truck in, he called, went over everything with me, had pricing ready, and made sure we were all on the same page. Once I dropped it off, they performed a thorough inspection, sent me the results, called me to discuss everything, and were completely upfront about the recommendations and costs. We were even able to negotiate the work that made the most sense for me. What really stood out was how they handled an oil leak I had noticed. After the initial repair, the leak unfortunately returned. I brought it back, and they found another issue, explained that it hadn't been something they could have reasonably identified during the original inspection, covered the labor, and sent me on my way. When the leak happened again, they ultimately determined it was a manufacturer-related issue. They took care of my truck, provided me with a loaner, worked through the warranty process, and kept me updated throughout the entire process. When I picked it up, Jacob even showed me the old part and explained what had happened, including the difficulty they had encountered with Ford no longer manufacturing the valve covers for my 5.0 Coyote for that model year. That's the kind of service you hope to find in a repair shop. Things happen, especially with a 100,000-mile vehicle, but what matters is how a shop handles those situations. Wayside was professional, honest, transparent, communicative, and genuinely helpful every step of the way. This truck means a lot to me. I plan on keeping it forever and eventually passing it down to my kids, so finding a shop I can trust with it is extremely important to me. I honestly could not recommend Wayside Garage more. Called... I said hey can you give me a rough estimate on a tranny for 2012 GMC? Response: no you gotta bring it in, so we can make sure it's the tranny. Me: but I know it's the tranny and I want it replaced, can you just tell me a rough estimate? Response: no, we really want to make sure before we give out and estimate. Lots of complaints here from a first visit gone wrong but I think these guys are crooks and Abraham is a snake. I'm pretty reasonable and was given many excuses why my issue was 1/1000 on how expensive and time consuming it turned out to be. AI inquiry and speaking with the dealership shop we have a relationship indicated we were being bamboozled. Abraham said google reviews are the bane of his existence and they're obsessed with getting positive ones and dismissing the negative ones and flipping blame on the customer or situation. The negative reviews aren't outliers, they are likely the majority of real reviews. You can assume many positive reviews are fake or innocuous oil changes, they're playing the game. I asked around AFTER going there and several other locals confirmed they've been ripped off too. Expect any quote given to be wildly underestimated. Use AI, ask other mechanics, most importantly look elsewhere for service. They gave us some goody bag after the hose job and asked for a review. Here you go. Details: Had a parasitic battery draw, they said best case $250, worst case $1000 1-2 days. Then they said that didn't work and tested 40/50 spots and needed up to 2 full days and up to $2500 more. Guess what? It took that full time and full amount more! Dealership and AI inquiry confirmed it wasn't that hard and this was a scam. They returned the car with running boards that weren't working and told us that would be extra AFTER we called to complain. Abraham admitted to gaming google review system. Tried to gift us into leaving a good review. Nah, a free t shirt isn't gonna do it. read more

Drove the car in. Had to have it towed out. I wish we had seen these reviews before my daughter got backed into a corner by this posse of smooth talkers (so smooth, they had me sucked in for a bit). Sadly, the experience of numerous other disappointed reviewers is almost identical to ours. I am fairly confident that many of the obsequiously positive reviews (on both Yelp and Google) are written by family and friends. The saddest part is that this much needed service, to a vulnerable and trusting segment of the market, actually CAN be done honestly. TLDR: My car started overheating and I had trouble accelerating so I ended up rolling into Wayside Garage... And man, what a phenomenal experience. As I was walking up I was greeted by Abraham who was extremely nice and personable. They gave me a timeframe for when they would look at my car and stuck to that timeframe. As it turns out a belt became loose due to a squirrel who crept up near my engine along with a couple other minor issues. When they called me with the damage they went through to tell me what was necessary to get back on the road, what they recommended, and finally what all was wrong with my car. We discussed everything that was recommend and I was under no pressure to get everything done all at once. Actually, it was recommended that the diagnostic was a guide to ensure my car could be driven for as long as possible. I really appreciate the thorough nature of the inspection as I have a 2014 Nissan Altima and I know that several things on the car could be fixed. 10/10 would recommend. Update, November 17, 2025, the clockspring they replaced just broke today, 9 months after the overpriced "work." Not only did we pay a huge premium, but they evidently didn't use quality OEM parts. Just unbelievable. They constantly tout a "Nationwide 3 year 36,000 mile warranty" as justification for their exorbitant and deceptive labor pricing, so my daughter will see what exactly that covers, and I'll report back here. I predict it covers their knockoff parts only, and they will still want hundreds more in labor. We'll see. read more

The epitome of the up-sell mechanic shop. They even keep track of the suggested up-sell services you have refused. OK. Lots of places do this. Say "no" and that's that. But not this shop. Sabrina suggested an up-sell on my oil change - for more than a 100% increase in price. I said "no" and she continued with why I should say yes. Oil change mind you, before the appointment, not in regard to a finding through inspection. The next day she called ME to invite me to go someplace else if I don't want to listen to the whole up-sell spiel. When I pointed out the miscommunication, she reverted to demanding I listen to the up-sell speech or go somewhere else. "So you don't want my business knowing I won't be up-sold? Let me speak to the manager". Sabrina said she was making the executive decision and invited me to go to Jiffy Lube. If you have thousands of extra dollars to drop in your dealings with them, they are always nice. If you have time to shop around, you may be offered the service for less somewhere else, or even find out it isn't necessary. I advise caution. read more

Stay away from this place, I have no idea how they are still in business or have any returning customers. Complete waste of time and definitely a waste of money. I love how the owner responded to all the one star reviews to try and please their case on why, but maybe you should try doing better business so you wouldn't have to be so worried about the opinions of your never returning customers. You're not trustworthy, you take advantage of your customers and the "quality" of your work sucks! I desperately needed my license plate removed but the screw got stuck. I just stop by during lunchtime and they told me just come back at 1:30 and he will take care of you. I did come back and they were busy and I just showed my urgency, and they immediately found someone to help me out and they fix the problem for me within less than three minutes. Friendly people but very expensive! Had my car fixed for a lot more than it was worth because needed it for my job. But found out later that they were much more expensive than other mechanics and regretted having it fixed there. For all European car's Owner, BMW, AUDI, Mercedes...don't bring your car over there when your lights are on. There is a $385 charge that included $79.28 Inspection from SmartFlow Digital Vehicle Inspections...it is an open tab and it keeps running, might take days to figured out and there is no limit of the charge$1,000, $2,000... And they are not supposedly to release the car until all lights are off. I was lucky enough to get my car back. Bottom line, it is a software that try to figure out what are the meanings of the of these light...and I think we should have some kind of customers protection. You shouldn't let your app, software run your business or decline, inform owners to take their car to the dealer. As I said, that is an open tab. I was travelling down to Monterey for a weekend with a couple of buddies and was on a schedule. I was flagged down on the freeway that my rear tire was wobbling badly. Pulled off to Wayside to get some help diagnosing and fixing the problem. They understood my anxiety and sent two gentlemen out to pull the tire off almost immediately. It turned out to be a very easy fix and they sent us on our way in under 15 minutes. I can't tell you haw much I appreciate the quick response and kind words from everyone there that I talked to! They try to get you to agree to charges over the phone and won't send you an itemized invoice so you get hit with a huge bill at the end. When I called and tried to speak to the owner, the employee gave me a fake name and told me she didn't remember what the owners name was. Some shady stuff going on. I spent $1200 and all I got was a new battery. The issues with the vehicle have not been resolved. I decided to just pick up the vehicle. But when I got there, it took 35 minutes for them to put an invoice together. They even charge you for the rubber gloves they wear to work on your car. Lol. I've never seen that from any other shop. These people are shady. They put up videos on the Internet attempting to make you believe they'll treat you like family. The greatest trick the devil ever played. This is Stacy's third time commenting. I must've really struck a cord. It was my girlfriends vehicle that I paid for which makes me just as much a customer. My girlfriend signed off electronically on the initial $373 diagnosis, but was never given an itemized invoice beyond that point. Took my car in for an oil change and walked away with a $386+ bill. While I was trying to find an alternative to a dealership for a simple oil change, my father-in-law recommended Wayside Garage. Dropped my car off in the morning and by about noon I received a call that the car was ready....BUT.....the air filters were probably due to be replaced. Naïve me, I approved the replacement. When I arrived to pick up my car, I didn't see it on the lot. I went inside, paid my stunning bill and then walked outside and asked where my car was. Waiting, waiting. looking, looking....it was parked on the street a block away. Here's the killer; six weeks later I opened the hood to my car and realized the oil fill cap was never replaced. I was on a quick vacation trip to Seaside CA, but my Ford F350 broke down, a problem with the power steering. The truck itself is pretty huge, but I also have a cabover camper on it, which makes it really, really hard to turn the wheel without power steering. I tried to find a repair shop, but almost everyone said I would have to take the camper off so the truck would go into their repair bay. Finally, I found Wayside Garage! They were extremely helpful, and fixed the truck the same day, without my having to remove the camper. I was in a really tough spot, far from home with a broken truck that I could barely drive. The folks at Wayside Garage really came through for me, and got me back on the road that same day, at a reasonable price. Now, I'm telling everyone: Wayside Garage really Rocks!!! Went in today to help my sister who had her car towed there to fix a flat tire. She was told the tire could not be fixed, had to be replaced. Quoted her $320 or so to replace one (1, singular) tire. Tire (not same as others,) $180, and $150 to install, with road hazard insurance. Again, one tire. Found exact tire on tire rack, $126, (where i purchased initially, still under warranty) asked if i could have it shipped there and installed, yes, for $150. Called another shop asked what it would be to mount and balance one tire....$38. Back into Wayside, now manager involved. asked if they could work with me on price. Started to get a lecture on prices, costs, etc. Save it. Also said they shouldnt allow outside tire to be brought in. liability, noone does it. Really? Nobody buys tires on Tire Rack and has them drop shipped to a shop for install? Really?! Asked if i could just have the wheel (already off) to take to other shop. Yes, but car could not stay on lot then, they would be storing car for free. Really? Again another song and dance from manager on shop loyalty, prices, etc. Save it. Ended up getting car towed (insurance) 1/2 mile down the road to other shop. With warranty covering tire, total expenditure maybe $40. VS $320. For one (1) different brand tire to be replaced. Outrageous. So, unless you want to get lectured on establishing relationship with the "local" shop, and pay their exorbitant prices so they can "help" you, go somewhere else. read more

As a female rider, I always get nervous in a mans world, even when I'm contacting a dealer for a bike for my husband. But I can tell you, at West Coast I was warmly greeted by Terry with dignity, respect and courteousness. Explaining that I made an appointment online with Sonny, Terry immediately called for Sonny to come out and meet us. Both guys explained the process well, with Terry taking us under his wing and walking us through the bike that we were there to see and then some. I myself was itching for an upgrade by the time we left! I'm so appreciative of the friendly nature of the entire crew! We were offered beverages and were kept entertained while the paperwork/financing was being processed. We were quite impressed with how well they have it down. While they crunch the numbers, they send you to the parts dept where they explain the catalog and all the fun stuff you can buy. Then that person walks up to the service dept and they explain how you'll enter and exit from the service area safely. They also explain the best ways to care for your bike. Once that brief concludes, they bring you back into the office where you'll sit for formal paperwork. It was smooth and easy and it made the time fly by. I went to wayside garage because my friend who works as a mechanic recommended them to me. So, I took shot and took my vehicle there. I took my vehicle there to get a diagnostic to find out the root of the problem. Following day I call to see the update on vehicle. Receptionist says the tech is out, but if I leave my name and number they'll call back with update. Never got a call back. Cool, I call back 2 hours later and now the service advisor that's working on my vehicle is now out. Cool, I ask for update on my vehicle. Said they took it on a test drive (lies cuz the car won't even start) They did a computer diagnosis. And looked at the fluids. And they had the audacity to say we still haven't found out the problem and we'll need to charge you another $800. At this point I don't want them even touching my vehicle. Told them I'll pay just make sure my vehicle is outside and I'll have it towed somewhere else. Went price shopping around other shops and $800 was price gouging. $200 to find out what was wrong the same day. Not trying to bash this business, but maybe better customer service and being a little bit more transparent with customers would help. So, if this review helps. It definitely was for me. I booked an appointment, ONLINE, with Wayside (very convenient if convenience is your thing), took the car in, got a fair price, AND discovered they are the most transparent repair shop I've ever seen.
