If I could give them a zero rating I would. Brought my car there for an oil change after taking my cars there for years. They called and told me they couldn't get the cap off and whoever previously serviced the car damaged it beyond repair. I reminded them THEY serviced the car and they denied it. Luckily I saved the receipt and proved it was last serviced with them. A few hours later they called and said the car was all set. I asked how they fixed it and they said one of the veteran mechanics was able to get the cap off and change the oil and I could pick up the car. Fast forward to this morning when the low oil warning light came on and a pool of oil had leaked in my garage. Had to have the car towed to the dealership where they successfully repaired the car. They found the wrong filter was installed, there was no crush ring, and Firestone left off a piece of hardware. Oil was leaking from both the top and the bottom. So unprofessional! I am currently on the phone with the rudest person ever. condescending and nasty!!!! I will spread the word near and far. no need for this. Here is my story....... Today.... I went into the firestone in Hingham. I asked if one tire could be repaired and if so to rotate my tires. I was told there was a nail in my tire and it couldn't be repaired. My response was it is leaking air very slowly and I would have to think about what i want to do. So the plan was to just take my car as in and make my decision. When they told me the tire was not able to be fixed i told them i would just keep it as it. The very nice helpful man helping me opened the door and asked that my tire be put back on. The response from the technician was "I took the nail out she can't drive on it now." There was never a point in time the instruction was given to take out the nail. I was then told they could put my spare tire on for me or i could buy a new tire. When i got home I realized that the spare was not where the tire with the nail was but rather in the front. I was told after buying 4 new tires.... That 2 could be put on today so i didn't have to dive on the spare for too long. Just got a call that they cannot get my 2 tires today. If I could give them zero stars, I would! Originally I made an appointment yesterday at 2pm to have my car serviced since my check engine light was on. I received a call because the person who needed to do the diagnostics was leaving early. I rescheduled for 9am today. When I called at 1:40pm, my car had not even been looked at! They were busy, short staffed- then why would you reschedule me for a day you could not perform any diagnostics? I just don't understand. Apparently, there were 2 codes and they needed to speak with their manager tomorrow to fully understand them! TERRIBLE service! HORRIBLE experience ! BAD customer service and Unqualified/Incompetent management in this Firestone store. Service in this store has gone from satisfactory to extremely bad in just one year, and let me tell you.. few more firestone stores with terrible service and unprofessional customer relations, such as this one in Hingham,Ma will surely damage this company's brand and its service credibility in the future if no corrective actions are taken. Three services, three negative outcomes in less than a year (shame on me at this point for continuing to trust this place with my vehicles). Recent one almost two weeks ago, we took my wife's car 2010 Rav4 for oil service and courtesy/safety checks but a week later the car's transmission was gone for lack of transmission fluid! My wife specifically asked the adviser to have techs check all important fluids because last time the car was serviced there they failed to check all fluids and just after couple of weeks the car started to stall and we learned that it was out of coolant fluid! Mind you there was never any leaks in both incidents. After calling the store to report the transmission fluid issue and ask why they didn't check it during the oil change service to let us know wether there was enough fluids or not, especially since my wife reminded and requested that all important fluids be looked at during the service visit as part of their supposedly saftey/courtesy checks so we don't have another issue, the store manager Xa...was very defensive, unprofessional, disrespectful and lacked basic requirement of listening skills to hear customers feedback! The way he talked to us was very arrogant ,interruptive and implied our guilt and blame for the transmission incident without admiting even part of their responsibility for not properly checking this fluid which may have saved us the $3500 it costed us to repair the transmission. He stated that the world is not perfect and that his techs aren't perfect and if it was so my car would not have broken down and he would not have been working there and that he may have had his own repair shop instead!!( so he was basically meaning for me to just suck it up and move on with my life ). Unbelievable, no responsibility what so ever! I thought they were supposed to be the experts/professional that we go to for car care and guidance! I wasn't obviously happy with this whole experience so I called Firstone company main customer service to place formal complaint and I was told the area manager will reach out to me within 48hrs. This didn't happen, so called again to follow up on the claim # and I was again told that the regional manager will follow up within 48 hrs since i didn't hear from the area manager. No call either. Then a store employee called to say sorry about the whole experience but Firestone wouldn't take any responsibility for the transmission fluid issue because according to their company's guidlines they check all fluids during the courtesy/saftey multipoint checks Except Transmission fluid!!! and he told me that because there was never any "written request"from my wife during the oil service visit to do so.. they ( Firestone auto care )aren't obligated to take any responsibility. Verbal Requests don't count. I guess this is a classic deceiving tactics that chain companies may use to avoid admitting any responsibility. So Be AWARE! I gave this a 3 star review, I have been going to Firestone in Hingham for years as well as my family. We have always loved the service we had there. Unfortunately, this past weekend was different. I had a scheduled oil change in which I was told I could drop my car off early for and leave the keys in the drop box until the appointment as I had tentative plans for the entirety of the day. All was good. I got a call later in the day that the car was ready. Asked *politely!!* if I could leave the car for another hour as I was an hour away still. The woman, (whom I'd never met before), disregarded me and asked "how are you paying". I said, "oh sorry", (thinking she didn't hear me) "do you mind if I could leave the car for another hour I'm on my way back". Again, I was disregarded, this time with a sigh and asked "are you paying on your Firestone card". I said "well you didn't answer my question, I want to make sure that leaving my car will be ok until I am able to pick it up". She said AGAIN "how are you paying for this". I gave in to avoid conflict that was becoming apparent and once I told her she then said, "I'll leave the keys in the front seat". It really could have been THAT easy to answer the first time. It was a Saturday night during the holiday shopping season. I dropped my children and Mother off around 4:30 at Derby St shops while I went to Firestone to have my rear brakes checked. On my way there my rear calipers failed and caused my rear pads to remain engaged. On a Saturday I expected the worse, no Van, no rental and my family would be stranded at the stores. Joe the Service rep and Joe the tech vigorously worked on getting the necessary parts to repair the the brakes. They located rotates, pads and calipers at 5:15, 45 minutes before they closed. The 2 Joe's stayed an hour after closing in order for me to get me on the road safely. 0 stars. Something smells like a scam. Went in for 4 tires. First quote was $517. A week later, same quote was $620. Work it out on price and went in. They said they'd check the tires for alignment for free. They installed the tires. Almost 2 hrs. Then came out and told me all tires we off. I had expressed that I didn't want to pay for the alignment. 10 min later they came back out and said "we checked again" (why, I do not know) " looks like all your tires are fine." During the installation, he brought me out to show me a broken boot on the axel. Another guy had already found it and told us we only needed the boot. They said we needed half the axle to be replaced. They'd do it for $350. I told them I didn't want to spend that kind of money that day, so he tried to sign me up for a credit card... Fast forward a bit. I leave with the car and the new tires. It rides nice and smooth, but now the a/c that was working as recently as my drive to Firestone, doesn't work at all. Just blowing hot air. I called the next day and they told me that the particular car I had does that. The a/c doesn't fade out, it just stops. Got a second and third opinion and they both said that was ridiculous. Firestone said they could get me in there and recharge it for close to $200. Funny how 4 tires quoted for a little over $500 could have turned into a $1130 sale for 4 tires, a half axle, an alignment, and an a/c recharge. read more

I recently went to the store because I required new tires. Once arrive the store manager, Javier, was very kind and informative. He showed me my old tires and explained that the old tires were of poor quality due to the manufacturer. Javier then suggested I get snow tires because it would be better for the long term. My mom took her car here because her a/c stopped working and they were the only ones open on a Sunday. She sat for hours in the waiting room with no one even behind the desk to give her a status update. When someone came back, she was informed they hadn't even started on it yet. So she called me to come pick her up and we drove around killing time. As closing time approached, she still hadn't gotten a call back, so she called them. Apparently they took her car apart and then discovered they didn't have the part they needed. They told her to come get her car and they'd call her later in the week when the part arrived. They also charged her $53 for diagnostics. Fast forward an entire week. No phone call. My mom called them and was told they hadn't ordered the part yet. So she ended up taking it somewhere else, where they discovered that Firestone had not put the car back together correctly or completely. Save yourself the trouble and don't go to a big chain like this where they don't really care about their customers. EDIT: Firestone contacted me after posting this review, and the $53 dollars was reimbursed. The customer service representative was really friendly and helpful, so I'm adding a star. It was still a wasted day but at least we didn't lose money. UPDATED OMG! I just had the worst experience in my life at this shop.I will start with I have used this shop and other Firestones with mixed results. Overall they have been positive until now. I was in 10k mile ago to do my brakes. They said I only neede front. GREAT. I came back 10k miles later to have my brakes done. The guy comes out with this long list of items I need to be done including new rotors, brake line flush and rear-end flush. If I don't do these I will have problems with my warranty! REALLY!!! My 10 yr old jeep with 80k miles!!! No, I need nothing except my brake pad thank you. He said you need rotors. I said no I don't. It's my 2nd brake job and I never had my rotors resurfaced. All the metal is there! I don't need aftermarket rotors that will cause problems. I have my brakes done long before they are due so I don't have these problems. He is now pointing at the rotor and I said they look GREAT! Look at how thick they. DROP MY CAR! I am out of here! VERY DISAPPOINTED. I believe they are required to push these products to boost sales. This pressure I don't need from any business. OLD I have had a positive experience with this location. Very unreliable and mixed messages. After 20 years getting my vehicles serviced..I'm done! 4 days ago got tires ordered, appt for 7 am today and ( day off for this). Guy takes tires off then tells me the new ones are not here and," don't know what happened". While waiting I asked about the tire 60k warrenty. The day I ordered I was told have to rotate every 5k to be covered. Today I asked ,( before the no tires here was told to me). This guy tells me no just every 2 oil changes or so, Doesn't have to be exact. Ok so how does this happen? who do I believe with the warrenty ? And why doesn't someone check every morning to see if the stock has come in and then call the customer before hand if it is not? Background: New to the area. Have tires from tire rack installed on my car. Wife hit a curb, had a blowout, needed to find a authorized tire rack service center. So - 1 tire. My car has been on the lift for almost 2 hours. There's been episodes of people gathering to look under my wood - wtf? All 4 wheels are off the car. One of the services writers keeps going back to BS with the tire installers - which causes them to completely stop and have frequent, engaged conversations. 45 minutes ago, I got the update "we're just waiting for balancing", really?? I think I'd rather abandon my car then be forced to observe this inept operation any longer. Do yourself a favor - go elsewhere. I sure would have if I checked yelp first. Greeted quickly, professionally and without false pretense of how long I would be waiting. I asked for an oil change and a quote for 4 tires. I was given the oil change price and time it would take before they asked anymore questions. I forget the fellas name who greeted me but he was probably the tech manager or whatever, very helpful and no b.s. They finished up the oil change and gave me the best price on their recommended tire. I don't care for labor costs, especially at a chain location where services are grossly inflated already. So, I told Joe (Sales Manager) that i don't want the tires if I'm paying for "Balancing labor" "Additional Removal fee" and "Valve stem labor". He took the fees out for me. Awesome. It took about 2 hours start to finish for oil change and tires to be mounted. They also tossed on wiper blades for me (which I bought at Wal-Mart). So this is a completely reasonable time frame. When I was handed my bill, another discount was applied they had missed without my having to mention it. Bonus. No pushy bullspit, no hidden fees, no quote tampering or waiting game nonsense. As far as the service team, management etc... And my overall experience as a human, solid B + to A - it's not an easy job and it was uncomfortably warm today. So I'm going with a 90 out of 100 for all things human. ------------ I cannot yet speak to the quality of tires or if they were balanced correctly etc.... ** NOTE THIS IS THE KICKER** If my TPMS light turns off within 50 miles, I was told within 15 miles but I'll be fair and give it 50, then this will be considered a 5 Star review. I got a flat tire on the highway one night, and took my car here the next morning. They were able to take my car in right away and had the matching Bridgestone tire i needed in stock. They installed my new tire, balanced the wheel and re-inflated all my tires including the spare in less than an hour. The pricing was reasonable. Wow. Just wow. I don't even have (appropriate) words to express my utter disgust with this establishment. In summary, my experience with Firestone was appalling, expensive, and unproductive. After initially getting my brakes and rotors "done" there, I ended up having to bring the car back two additional times for repairs (see prior review/update). A few weeks back, I noticed my front brakes sounded terrible, and certainly weren't feeling great either. I thought to myself, how could this be? I just had them done, and redone, and redone a few months back. I decided that I'd had enough of dealing with the people at Firestone and took my car to my actual mechanic who ended up needing to replace the front brakes and rotors because the quality of parts used were so poor. I can not recommend going to this Firestone. A visit to them has totally ruined my credit! These guys lied to me and posted a charge to my Firestone credit card that I asked them not to. Because I did not realize the charge had been on that card, some months went by before I even realized I had that charge. Admittedly, I made the problem worse by a clerical blunder on my end (another story altogether), but this charge should never had made it to the card in the first place. Although the store General Manager was helpful in tracking down some information for me, the bottom line is no one there took responsibility for their mistake, nor helped me get this black mark on my credit fixed. I have given this place a fair try but they just either don't know what they're doing or they just like taking your money. First I got tires from there last october. I spun out last february & my wheel weights fell off the rim. Had to go get my tires re-balanced only to have my hubcap fall off the next day. After my hub cap fell off I saw that they put the wrong wheel weights on my rim. So I was really mad that my hubcap was gone & that there were aluminum wheel weights on my iron rim . So I called sullivan tire in marshfield & Firestone in quincy(they seem alright) & asked them "What kind of weights should be on my iron rim?" They both said iron weights immediately. I call hingham what do they say ? "oh Well, it depends..." I cut him off immediately & tell him no & to rebalance my tires correctly & I'm not paying. So they re-balance my car again for the third time. The manager apologized & told me my car was perfectly balanced now. A month later I get my brakes done(else where), and the place asked me why I had aluminum weights on my car. They replaced the aluminum weights on the rim that the hubcap fell off but not the rest ! Again ! Now to boot the guy at the brakes place tells me that they sold me the wrong tires for my car & that's why they rumble so loud. So in short, this place doesn't know what they're doing. They failed to properly secure one of the tires, so much so that immediately afterwards it failed a safety inspection because it was dangerously loose .When I returned to get it fixed, Bob, the manager, dismissed it as "sometimes things happen". Three weeks later, the second tire looses air. Bring it back and they find the stem on the tire is faulty. They said they fixed it. Two days later, same problem. Brought it back. They then wanted to charge me the road hazard fee to fix it. I then decided to go somewhere else out of concern that it wasn't safe, and at that time, they decided to fix it. To top it off, found out few weeks later the improperly set tires and bearings were never correctly set. I learned my lesson and will not be back. read more

I will preface what I am going to write by saying that I carry a Premier Rewards Gold Card from Firestone for the amount of money I have spent there the last few years on two cars. After four attempts at repairing an electrical problem with a door window; spending over $ 300.00 in parts which it turns out I did not need; hours of either waiting in the lobby or dropping off/ picking up my car; and being told it would cost another $ 400.00 to complete the job, I am no longer a Firestone customer. I might not be walking away if this was the first incident. I spent $ 1,000.00 there about 4 months ago when I needed new struts/ suspension on the same car. Within days of this work being done, I had to go back because it sounded as if the entire back end of my was falling apart. It turned out that the technician had not connected the rear sway bar before returning my car to me. This entire story is actually very sad because I sought them out after moving here from Akron OH - the original home to Firestone. I'm sure there are many good reviews here as well as the bad, but the reason I write mine is to send up the "caution" flag to others who are considering doing business here. read more

I've been using Firestone for almost 20 years now at three different locations this one here in Hingham, the one in West Roxbury, and the one in Braintree. Not once have I been upsold or told there was "more work" that needed to be done; they've always been up front and honest. I recommend Firestone to all my friends and family. The staff is professional and courteous and when they tell me I'll be here for a hour to wait for my car it's usually never that long. One of the only places I was talked out of buying something that I figured was necessary but was explained to me that it was an unnecessary purchase and I shouldn't waste my money. read more

I had a 2001 Pontiac Grand am I used to take the car there for repairs .They were fine in the the beginning they changed my brakes ,the inner tire rods and the tires .They took the car in and gave it back on time. Then I had a problem with the steering wheel ,it was not turning , I gave the car to them at 7 in the morning and they said they would look at it. I kept calling them every hour and they said they still did not look at it so it went on till 8 in the night ,finally I had to spent $150 to get it towed to another mechanics. I scheduled an appointment for 8:00 by the website but when I arrive at store at the time scheduled , they just make me wait. They took my car to change the tire 40 minutes after I arrive, due to they were working in other cars. I really don't know why they ask to schedule an appointment if they don't respect the time! read more
