When Peter checked the left front tire he found nothing wrong and he added the appropriate amount of air. He noticed my other tires were lower than they should be, though not as low as the left front one, and he added air to them. When I asked him what I owed he wouldn't take anything! He didn't even charge me for his time. I was so relieved that I avoided a large expense! Eventually, I will need new tires and I will only go to Tire Depot. As a woman with limited knowledge, I wanted to be sure not to overpay, so I called a few places and East Coast Auto Repair offered to check my car out the next morning, which worked great for me. (I was right about the high quote from the dealership by almost $400.) I asked the person who greeted me at the shop if they had time to complete a thorough check of the car while they had it for my brakes and they did. When completed, their review included the work on the brakes and only the usual maintenance type things with no pressure for any additional, or possible unnecessary work. In fact, they appreciated my need to control my expenses and made suggestions on how I could get the most out of my car. The people working there were polite, knowledgeable and honest. They deserve their high ratings and I am happy to be able to have found this exceptional auto repair shop close to my new home. I highly recommend them.

I told the guy behind the counter (whose name I wish I could remember) why I was there, and told him that I wanted a good tire, but not a super-top-of-the-line one. He could have just kept his mouth shut and let me spend money on a new tire, but instead he said that they'd check it first and see whether or not that was necessary. A short time later, he let me know that they'd found a nail in the tire, and that they'd removed it and patched it up. I was out of there quickly, and on the cheap (under $40). Can't ask for much more than that. I know where I'll be going next time I need tire service.

When…read moreJamie heard what my problem was he ran through a couple of scenarios of low risk vs safety concerns and offered to take a look to make sure the car was safe to drive as he couldn't guarantee he could do more major work by today. Not only did they discover the safety issue but spent the time to fix the issue (and another one they found) and test drive the car to make sure it's be safe. All this for less than the price of an oil change (i.e. surprisingly low) In addition to great, kind, conscientious service it was also friendly and polite. You could hear it over the phone when I first called but I also saw it practiced in person with the two other people ahead of me in the waiting room. Both seemed to be regulars or at least familiar to the Jamie, and the conversations were just that...conversations back and forth and each time the payment came up Jamie said "Please"...now I just spent New Years with family so I know what polite for polite's sake sounds like...and Jamie's was genuine. I now end up taking care of my parent's car's upkeep whenever I visit and I'll be taking it back here!
