We were ignored from the moment we were seated at our table. We didn't get bread till we asked for it. We didn't get a drink menu till we asked for it. And the two parties that arrived and that were seated after us were served and paid before we even got our meal or a refill on our water. It was like something was wrong with me and I wasn't welcome in Sullivans. I've never felt this way before in my life!!! I finally asked after I noticed everyone around us paying for their meals, and we were still waiting to be served, what happened to our meal. I had to get up and physically walk around and look for my server to ask her. This was the most unreal thing I have ever experienced!!! I will never be returning to Sullivans. Writing a review on the bar bites menu only. Decided to check out their happy hour. It was a nice day to sit on their patio. Hadn't had great experiences for dinner the last couple times so I have not been there in a while but decided we wanted to try, their happy hour. It was really good! The beef Wellington pastry bites were super tasty and the shaved prime steak sliders were very tender, made with sliced tenderloin, caramelized, onion, and Gruyere cheese. YUM! And great happy hour prices for sure! Our waitress was amazing. Had some great drink recommendations for NA drinks as well. Also had the blue cheese chips which were pretty good. We had a gift card from Christmas which brought us to try Sullivans for our first and last time tonight. We started off with the hamburger helper tacos. They referred to them as "Cheesesteak eggrolls" made with "filet mignon". My husband and I are fully convinced it was ground beef. The lobster bisque soup had so much cinnamon it tasted and smelled more like an applesauce than a soup...Everything we ordered was a little too bland. The macaroni shells weren't fully cooked. The steak tasted unseasoned. The crab stuffed shrimp were very disappointing as well. Our server was very sweet, and the restaurant had a nice, moody atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food was bland, unseasoned, and not worth half the money that it cost. The best parts were the free bread and the side of wild mushrooms... We ended up spending $234 on one of the most disappointing meals of our lives read more

Dined in at one of my favorite steakhouses, Sullivan's, in Omaha, to treat my family that was visiting for the weekend. I have been ranting and raving about how good this place is, to only be disappointed. Once seated, we were greeted immediately, but it slowly went downhill after that. It took 20 mins for us to receive water, which in past visits, they have a specific person just for pouring and refilling water at the tables, but they were no where to be found. After asking for water, we finally ordered a bottle of Cakebread Cabernet, to only be informed 30 minutes later that they did not have it in stock. Our waitress, Marisela, was super friendly and informative about what was going on, but was waiting on a manager to unlock the wine cellar because they are the only ones to have access. It was not a cheap bottle of wine, so for someone to wait 30+ minutes for a $200+ bottle of wine is ridiculous. After ordering, and receiving our food in a timely manner. My steak was ordered medium. But came out well done. I've been to this restaurant numerous of times and have always had a wonderful experience but tonight did not meet my expectations. On a more positive note, the side dishes, wine and service by Marisela, were phenomenal. We had a bottle of Caymus Cabernet, the garlic mashed potatoes and wild mushrooms, which were some of the best side dishes I've had in the Omaha area. I understand that everyone has their off nights, so this won't keep me from coming back and giving them another chance. read more

FILET MIGNON - 8 OZ. - when you get your side family style looks lonely on that massive plate. But yummy. Cheesecake was solid A friend said the Key Lime was best they ever had, so there's that. Dining at Sullivan's is an experience - in atmosphere, service, and flavor. My husband and I were in town for an event and we're looking for somewhere nearby to get dinner. We were walking around the area and came across Sullivan's. Thankfully we were dressed nicely for the event we were attending, as Sullivan's has a notice on their front door that appropriate attire must be worn. We did not have a reservation but we're able to be seated right away (this was around 5pm on a Saturday). The atmosphere is classy - dark, candle light, "jazzy" if you will. I found it difficult to read the menu due to it being so dark, but I utilized the battery operated candle on the table to see the menu better (and was complimented by one of the servers for using that instead of my phone). The menu is very limited, but their selection is very upscale. Kobe beef, lobster, etc. Everything is priced a la carte. Most of the appetizers, soups, and salads are in the $13-$20 range. Entrees are anywhere from $30-80. My husband and I split two appetizers, a bowl of soup, one of the lesser expensive steaks, two side dishes, and a desert and our bill was around $190. The service was exceptional and the food is splendid. The layers of flavor in every dish - it's well worth the money. Is this a place to visit every week? No, unless you make big bucks. But this is definitely an excellent choice if you're looking for a quiet and intimate place for a special event or a lovely date night. Be sure to ask if Logan B is working and, if so, ask to be seated in his section. He provides superb service! read more

We had a reservation for 630 on a Saturday night. Even though the parking was a huge challenge, we were on time for a reservation. However, we had to wait over 35 minutes for a table that was so unexpected. After that long of a wait, we seated were near the kitchen, That completely ruined the ambience. The food was wonderful. There was a long wait after the appetizers and an equally long. Wait for additional drinks. I will think twice before going back. read more

I've been to Sullivans many times for business dinners, dates with the wife, etc, and the food and service are usually quite good. But my recent visit with my family on Thanksgiving as an absolute disaster, so I wanted to write a review that would reflect dining here as a whole, not just the one time that was awful. On your average night Sullivans is a great choice for steak and seafood, the wine list is good, the cocktails are on point and the service is always prompt. Some of my favorite dishes are the cheese steak egg rolls, the new York strip and the filet mignon. The steaks are always cooked and seasoned very nicely. They also have really good desserts, the new York style cheesecake is excellent. The dining room has that classic white tablecloth steakhouse feel, simple but elegant. Now, if you are ever thinking of going here for thanksgiving I would strongly suggest you reconsider. I made reservations for 5 people at like 5pm, when we walked in the bar was full, and the hallway and waiting area was lined with people. I was told it would be at least 40 minutes until we could be seated, it ended up being 60 minutes by the way. What is the point of making reservations if this happens? We were finally seated, then we all ordered the same thing, the thanksgiving pre fixe, and we didn't get our food until 90 minutes later, it was insane how long it took. The food was good, but that is a lot to ask of your customers for a $50 plate of turkey and sides. I have no idea what the problem was, they said people were staying longer and that was backing everything up. The kitchen seemed way behind to me, and if I'm not mistaken they were serving the whole menu. I'm sorry, but for an event like thanksgiving you should probably just offer a few options and that's it. If people were lingering too long ask them politely to leave so others can have a seat. Maybe it's not that simple, I'm not a restaurant owner, but damn it was a painful experience. 3.5 stars. read more

If I could give it zero, I would. Worst dining experience - if you can call it that - in decades. Sullivans tries to recreate the atmosphere of the old Omaha steak houses that once were the pride of the region. Instead, all they provide is poor service, ridiculous prices and unprofessional interactions with the customer. Here's the rub: Went at the recommendation of a local hotel concierge. Was seated directly on our 7:30 reservation with a grand total of three other couples in the restaurant. Twenty minutes later, we finally were asked for our drink order. Twenty minutes after that, the drinks finally arrived. My wife had a smoky old fashioned, served in a birdcage-like presentation that would have been cool if a.) the drink wasn't tipped when the waiter hit the table and b.) the accompanying house red I had ordered didn't taste like the bottle had been heated and cooled repeatedly leaving the wine flat and blah. Both undrinkable - they were nevertheless $38 combined. When the waiter finally returned to take our food order, we learned that three of their signature menu items were not available - two of their premier (see $100+ steaks when you get independently priced sides, and the only poultry offering). No apology... no explanation. Forty-five minutes into our evening and we still did not have an order to the kitchen. A 20-something, claiming to be the general manager, asked as we paid for our drinks without food service, if we enjoyed our meal. THREE couples were in the restaurant and she was so oblivious to not understand we never had a meal to enjoy. Vastly over-rated; completely unaware of the customer experience, bring back the great restaurants of the past that understood customer service built the reputation, not untrained wait staff, unqualified managers and vastly overpriced products. read more
