Went with a party of 5 for an evening Mother's Day dinner. We arrived and was seated immediately - we did have a reservation. The bus server came over quickly and filled water glasses and shortly after some hot bread and butter. The bread and salted whipped butter was excellent. Our waitress came over about 5 mins later and took our drink orders and asked if we had any questions. The drinks showed up in another 5-10 mins which seemed a bit long, but we kept an open mind. We ordered a couple of apps and finished our first drink before the apps showed up. I ordered the raw oysters (half dozen) and my wife had the grilled oysters (4) which were accompanied by some toasted bread. Both were good and came with cocktail sauce and a bottle of Tobasco. I would have thought that the raw oysters would have a house-made mignonette sauce, but I guess not. After another 20+ minutes, we finally found our server and ordered our entrees and sides. The steaks and chicken came out after a while and were nice and hot. Cooked as ordered. The sides took a bit longer and they ended up forgetting a couple of them. We had ordered quite a few sides for the table so we actually had plenty to eat. The sauteed mushrooms were notably good as well as the sauteed spinach. We mentioned the missing sides to our server and the manager came over and apologized as well as comping all of our sides. So that was nice. Overall bottom line - the place was only 1/3 full at most. There were a lot of servers and workers walking around, but our server was obviously missing - we had to ask for her twice. The manager was super cool, and I respect that. Kudos to him. The food was tasty and well seasoned. Hot and fresh. Not huge portions for the price, but we walked away satisfied. The restrooms were clean and well kept. Everything seemed clean. The lightly was actually a bit bright for the room, but it was fairly early in the evening I guess. The worst part was the slow service for such an expensive dinner. We stopped in last night for the second time! We came last year before our Mama Mia show was cancelled due to the blizzard and we had a wonderful evening with the restaurant practically to ourselves. Unfortunately this experience didn't keep up the hype for us. I placed a reservation during the day and found a table for 7:00. We arrived at 7:02 and were seated right away. Asking for a booth, we ended at the far side of the restaurant in one of the three circle booths. We enjoyed the entertainment of people watching for the long night. Unfortunately, we were not greeted until 7:14. Our server had walked by our table multiple times before letting us know he would be with us shortly, and this theme continued through the night. At 7:45 we received our soup and salad. Lobster bisque is to die for, and my wife especially loves the croutons on her Caesar. After finishing our first plates we received our bread, with an apology for it arriving after and not before. We were told the oven was full of potatoes. 90 minutes after arriving to the restaurant we received our entrees. We both did Filets, mash potato's and ordered macncheese for a shared plate. The steaks were cooked perfectly in the middle but were pretty charred moving to the outside. I would say half of my wife's medium steak (which did look good in the center) was probably well done. Even so, everything was incredibly enjoyable! We both loved the peppercorn sauce and would probably buy a few bottles to take home. We finished with dessert about two hours in. Cheesecake was wonderful. Key lime pie was wonderful. The food was great. The service was slow. Sat at 7:04, we left at 9:15. Thank goodness we didn't have anything going on! read more

First of all, the bone in filet mignon isn't worth the price: $75. First cut came out well done when ordered Medium Rare. The manager made up for it by getting us the correct steak and comp'd us two free sides, a free glass of wine and two free desserts. Worst part: I inquired about the A5 Wagyu steak. Menu said each 4 oz. Portion was $28 so I ordered 8 oz. The waitress knew darn well she should have asked whether or not I knew the ACTUAL price: $112 per 4 oz. Lots of availability, I was seated right away and a waiter greeted me immediately upon seating. I did the 3-course "sure thing" combo and thought the food came out at a good pace to allow me to finish each course before the next one came out. The cosmo tasted good but was a little weak. The steak had great flavor and was cooked perfectly to medium. The mashed potatoes and gravy were just alright. The bread appetizer was so fresh and soft. Lobster bisque was my least favorite which was disappointing for me because I was really looking forward to it. I thought it was pretty thin and not very creamy like I would expect and didn't have very much meat in it. Not pictured but for dessert I had the bananas foster bread pudding. I took it to go because I was so full from all the other courses. The ingredients were separated so it kept well. I ate it later that night and it was so so good! I had a good experience at Sullivan's for a work dinner recently. We were seated in one of the private event rooms, and our servers were attentive and helpful. The decor was reminiscent of a classic steakhouse. We started with cheesesteak eggrolls and Shanghai calamari as appetizers. The eggrolls were delicious! We then had market fresh greens and shrimp and lobster bisque as starters, and my coworkers quite enjoyed the bisque. I got the medium New York strip which was well-seasoned, tender, and juicy. The family-style sides we got included asparagus, mashed potatoes, and mac and cheese. We finally got cheesecake and key lime pie as desserts which were pretty nice as well. The one negative aspect of our meal was the limited vegetarian options for some members of our party, which dampened their experience. read more

Very disappointed. Though we had reservations, we had to wait and it was suggested we have a drink in their bar. We ordered two coffees with Bailey's Irish Creme - a shot glass of Bailey's for each cup. The cost? It was $40 plus tip. We finished the coffee and there was some kind of sediment on the bottom of our cups. Gross. In the restaurant, the carpeted floor was littered with paper items and someone's food. Gross. The food was mediocre and like their bar, way, way overpriced. Only street parking and we had to walk a couple of blocks to get there. Writing a review on the bar bites menu only. Decided to check out their happy hour. It was a nice day to sit on their patio. Hadn't had great experiences for dinner the last couple times so I have not been there in a while but decided we wanted to try, their happy hour. It was really good! The beef Wellington pastry bites were super tasty and the shaved prime steak sliders were very tender, made with sliced tenderloin, caramelized, onion, and Gruyere cheese. YUM! And great happy hour prices for sure! Our waitress was amazing. Had some great drink recommendations for NA drinks as well. Also had the blue cheese chips which were pretty good. We had a gift card from Christmas which brought us to try Sullivans for our first and last time tonight. We started off with the hamburger helper tacos. They referred to them as "Cheesesteak eggrolls" made with "filet mignon". My husband and I are fully convinced it was ground beef. The lobster bisque soup had so much cinnamon it tasted and smelled more like an applesauce than a soup...Everything we ordered was a little too bland. The macaroni shells weren't fully cooked. The steak tasted unseasoned. The crab stuffed shrimp were very disappointing as well. Our server was very sweet, and the restaurant had a nice, moody atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food was bland, unseasoned, and not worth half the money that it cost. The best parts were the free bread and the side of wild mushrooms... Dined in at one of my favorite steakhouses, Sullivan's, in Omaha, to treat my family that was visiting for the weekend. I have been ranting and raving about how good this place is, to only be disappointed. Once seated, we were greeted immediately, but it slowly went downhill after that. It took 20 mins for us to receive water, which in past visits, they have a specific person just for pouring and refilling water at the tables, but they were no where to be found. After asking for water, we finally ordered a bottle of Cakebread Cabernet, to only be informed 30 minutes later that they did not have it in stock. Our waitress, Marisela, was super friendly and informative about what was going on, but was waiting on a manager to unlock the wine cellar because they are the only ones to have access. It was not a cheap bottle of wine, so for someone to wait 30+ minutes for a $200+ bottle of wine is ridiculous. After ordering, and receiving our food in a timely manner. My steak was ordered medium. But came out well done. I've been to this restaurant numerous of times and have always had a wonderful experience but tonight did not meet my expectations. On a more positive note, the side dishes, wine and service by Marisela, were phenomenal. We had a bottle of Caymus Cabernet, the garlic mashed potatoes and wild mushrooms, which were some of the best side dishes I've had in the Omaha area. Dining at Sullivan's is an experience - in atmosphere, service, and flavor. My husband and I were in town for an event and we're looking for somewhere nearby to get dinner. We were walking around the area and came across Sullivan's. Thankfully we were dressed nicely for the event we were attending, as Sullivan's has a notice on their front door that appropriate attire must be worn. We did not have a reservation but we're able to be seated right away (this was around 5pm on a Saturday). The atmosphere is classy - dark, candle light, "jazzy" if you will. I found it difficult to read the menu due to it being so dark, but I utilized the battery operated candle on the table to see the menu better (and was complimented by one of the servers for using that instead of my phone). The menu is very limited, but their selection is very upscale. Kobe beef, lobster, etc. Everything is priced a la carte. Most of the appetizers, soups, and salads are in the $13-$20 range. Entrees are anywhere from $30-80. My husband and I split two appetizers, a bowl of soup, one of the lesser expensive steaks, two side dishes, and a desert and our bill was around $190. The service was exceptional and the food is splendid. The layers of flavor in every dish - it's well worth the money. Is this a place to visit every week? No, unless you make big bucks. But this is definitely an excellent choice if you're looking for a quiet and intimate place for a special event or a lovely date night. Be sure to ask if Logan B is working and, if so, ask to be seated in his section. He provides superb service! read more

I've been to Sullivans many times for business dinners, dates with the wife, etc, and the food and service are usually quite good. But my recent visit with my family on Thanksgiving as an absolute disaster, so I wanted to write a review that would reflect dining here as a whole, not just the one time that was awful. On your average night Sullivans is a great choice for steak and seafood, the wine list is good, the cocktails are on point and the service is always prompt. Some of my favorite dishes are the cheese steak egg rolls, the new York strip and the filet mignon. The steaks are always cooked and seasoned very nicely. They also have really good desserts, the new York style cheesecake is excellent. The dining room has that classic white tablecloth steakhouse feel, simple but elegant. Now, if you are ever thinking of going here for thanksgiving I would strongly suggest you reconsider. I made reservations for 5 people at like 5pm, when we walked in the bar was full, and the hallway and waiting area was lined with people. I was told it would be at least 40 minutes until we could be seated, it ended up being 60 minutes by the way. What is the point of making reservations if this happens? We were finally seated, then we all ordered the same thing, the thanksgiving pre fixe, and we didn't get our food until 90 minutes later, it was insane how long it took. The food was good, but that is a lot to ask of your customers for a $50 plate of turkey and sides. I have no idea what the problem was, they said people were staying longer and that was backing everything up. The kitchen seemed way behind to me, and if I'm not mistaken they were serving the whole menu. I'm sorry, but for an event like thanksgiving you should probably just offer a few options and that's it. If people were lingering too long ask them politely to leave so others can have a seat. Maybe it's not that simple, I'm not a restaurant owner, but damn it was a painful experience. 3.5 stars. read more
