Ohhh Sullivan's. I've wanted to come here for years but just haven't made the trip. I took my brother-in-law and father here for belated gifts; a birthday and father's day. We went to Sullivan's this past Saturday night. We walked in and the lovely hostess showed us to our table. We put our drink order in but it took a little while for our waiter, who we believe was new, to come back to take our food order. We put our order in, I got the massive 28 oz. House Portherhouse and a bowl of the bisque and we shared three sides: Lobster Horseradish mashed potatoes, asparagus, and broccoli. My brother-in-law also got a bisque. I understand the waiter was new but we received our steaks before our soup and he never gave us any bread, so that took away from the experience a bit. My steak was pretty dang good. The filet part of the Porterhouse was melt-in-your-mouth tender and the entire steak was cooked to a perfect medium-rare. And yes, I ate the whole thing. (I should have just gotten the 12 oz. filet so I wouldn't have to deal with the random muscle and bone in the Porterhouse. I know for next time.) The amount of lobster meat on the mashed potatoes was crazy. It was piled on top! For dessert I got the creme brulee which was good; nothing mind-blowing but still good. All in all, I will definitely go back; probably for a special occasion since it can definitely break the bank. read more

Had a great experience here. Sullivan's has a swanky, more dimly lit ambience. I loved all of their old time photos; made you feel like you took a step back in time! My date and I made a reservation ahead of time just in case (we came on a Friday), but it looked like we would have found a table even if we hadn't. Our server was incredibly friendly and fun. And very helpful with all of our questions! He did a great job checking up on us, but not in an overwhelming way. Their old fashioned was fantastic, would recommend! Their crab cakes were soo flavorful and will fill you up way more than you think they will! Nice and creamy. They also have a deal that if you get an entree you can get a side salad (mixed or Caesar) for only $4! I was too stuffed from my crab cakes, so I had to take my salad home! You do get a banquette with the most delightful whipped butter before your meal comes out as well! We got the asparagus as a side; they were cooked well and delicious. Their establishment doesn't give you sides with your meals, you order them separately if you choose, but they're big enough for two people to share! We also got a free dessert for my birthday! We went with the crème brûlée and it was TO DIE FOR. Such a fun date night spot. Absolutely loved it here. Would definitely like to come back. read more

PROS: wonderful atmosphere, delicious food at a reasonable price, and fantastic service CONS: Really can't think of any. The food was so good I couldn't stop eating! This is definitely one of the best steakhouses I've been to. My friend took us here for the first time for my birthday, and we had a great time. We both ordered The Sure Thing, a Prix Fixe (fixed price) menu. For $48, I got a Caesar salad, 6 ounce filet mignon with bourbon peppercorn sauce, a side of garlic mashed potatoes, and bananas foster. We also enjoyed complimentary freshly baked bread. Everything was absolutely perfect. This was an amazing deal for the price- I felt absolutely stuffed after eating everything. My filet mignon was cooked to a beautiful rare, and even the whipped cream on my bananas foster was better than usual. My friend upgraded his order to add chicken to the Caesar salad, and got a 12 ounce prime New York strip steak with gorgonzola garlic butter and a Bearnaise sauce. (This was an amazing combo, I really loved the gorgonzola with the Bearnaise!!) This came with asparagus and a strawberry cheesecake. We also got 2 glasses of moscato (not listed on the libations menu). Probably not a traditional wine to pair with steak, but I appreciate that we were able to order it, since it's my friend's favorite. Our server was incredibly kind and patient. She was knowledgeable about the menu and I appreciate her answering all of our questions. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at Sullivan's. Service A1...Lexi is awesome, very attentive...always made sure we had what we wanted and needed. I had the NY strip, and i wasn't impressed with the steak. Our date was dining in the bar. Our date was excellent. We went when they opened and we're seated immediately. Service was prompt from the bar staff. We got delicious cocktails, menus, and ordered a sumptuous meal. Distracting from the delicious steaks one knows we got, it's significant to point out that the place is beautiful and elegant in the bar and in the restaurant. Very classy and charming. My steak was huge. Cowboys had big ole ribeye steaks. Go cowboys. We ordered the spinach with cheese, and that was good. She got the steak salad, which did not skimp on the steak. We also ordered an appetizer, and everything arrived so fast that we brought it home. Lunch the next day was leftovers. We got lucky with parking, being on the street across from the restaurant. I don't think that will be so easy when everyone is back out to dinner each weekend, so driver beware. Shout out to the awesome bar staff. They really added to the experience! read more

We stopped here for dinner before attending Hamilton at the theater a block away. This is an excellent fine dining experience. The steaks were amazing. It is a bit more expensive, but in line with the quality. This place would be perfect for a special occasion like an anniversary or birthday. They also have a private room for events. read more

So the food was ehhh, my filet mignon was prepared to medium as I've asked, but definitely not the best I've had at this price point. Cesar salad dressing tasted good, but some leaves were wilted, so again, at this price point...ehhhhh. But what really brought down my rating is the service, I was here with three work colleagues, at one point we waited with empty drinks for over 20 min after ordering them, btw they were not at all busy. It actually got so bad that I stepped away and spoke to the manager about it. The drink quality was also sub par. Over all my point is that at this price point you expect exceptional service and an unforgettable product...we got neither. read more

We dined here a couple years back. And we typically enjoy at least one fancy meal out during the holidays. But well, COVID. So we were pretty psyched to find out Sullivan's had a $100 family meal that could be delivered. You can select a salad, two entrees, and two sides. We opted for a mixed salad with a delicious dijon mustard, sliced filet mignon, sliced ribeye, mac n cheese, and mashed potatoes. We also opted to add a bottle of red wine for an additional $35. Ordered food to go. We got a French dip sandwich, two sides of potatoes, asparagus, and a chicken entree. The total came out to 104$. It should have costed close to 50. The french dip was so utterly flavourless, and came with maybe a tablespoon of sauce. The asparagus was good, as well as the chicken. I believe the chicken has jalapenos with it, but wasn't advertised and was unexpected. The fries that came with the French dip were average at best. From the time we walked in Oliver was fantastic. The drinks were yummy! I had a blueberry lemon drop and my husband the local IPA. We started with tenderloin egg rolls, oysters, and mini wellingtons they were so good as was the warm bread. We added lamb chops for my husband who said they were the best he has had in a long time. My steak was fantastic perfectly cooked and even perfect for leftovers the next day. We finished out the meal with a chocolate cake that was huge we couldn't finish until the next day. I write the very occasional review. Two or three a year... mostly when I want to boast, rarely when I need to warn the kind reader away from an experience. Unfortunately for me, but fortunately for you, this is the latter. I gave the place two stars because the service was fantastic. However, this is a steak joint... highish end, and prides itself on cutting its own meat. They shouldn't. The gristle on a Prime New York steak should be somewhat rare, if ever experienced. I actually had to send my steak back. They were very nice to cook me a new one. My hope was that they were going to pull one of the 'good ones' from the 'good ones' fridge... no, they cooked its twin! To my point, my company ordered the 12 oz Filet... cold in the middle. They cut the Filet incorrectly for a grill only joint. So... once you're done with the bread and your second martini... call it quits and go to Jimmy John's across the street and get their rendition of steak. You will chew a lot less. read more

I regularly visit Omaha for work (6x/yr) but this one was special because I was hosting a continuing education event on behalf of my employer. This event also included my direct supervisor. To celebrate the occasion we all agreed on an ala carte steakhouse. There are plenty in the area and Sullivan's won out by proximity. We started with drinks. The bourbon selection was small. Very disappointing because every time I'm in this town I'm drinking a unicorn of some sort at lower priced restaurants like Jams. We moved on to apps and salads. These were nothing to write home about. Moving on to main entrees, I went with my steakhouse usual, New York strip done medium rare. We also ordered three "family sized" sides to share amongst five of us. The steak did arrive a perfect medium rare. No complaints on temp, but the last ala carte steak I had fed me for two days. This one I finished easily. The sides were small. Seriously, we could've doubled what we ordered and not walked away with leftovers. Not only that but the asparagus they served was yellow. Oh and we wanted broccoli but they were out of it (????). My wife's stuffed shrimp was cold, like chilled almost. Just unacceptable. Desserts were meh at best. Celebrating a union between two people is a magical experience. I had the fortunate opportunity to witness a marriage of two people and then celebrate them with a lovely dinner at this restaurant. However, since my boyfriend had to be up in the wee hours in the morning we asked the newly weds if it was okay with them for us to head to the restaurant early (since the reservation was about an hour and a half from when the wedding was finished). They completely understood and met up with us at the original reservation time. I was so excited to have dinner at such a nice restaurant with a pretty hefty appetite to boot too. The hostess managed to sit us at the same table set aside for the 6:15 reservation so that the rest of the party could join us and we'd be able to all celebrate together. The ambiance was nice and peaceful with enough distance between tables to main enough social distancing. Once we decided what we wanted the food seemed to come out at a decent amount of time. My boyfriend chose the spicy shrimp eggrolls as our appetizer which turned out to be pretty tasty. They were less spicy than he hoped but they are definitely worth a try. He chose the scallops for dinner along with steakhouse mushrooms as his side and I chose the 6oz filet from the pre fixed menu option along with the lobster bisque soup and bananas fosters bread pudding. My meal also came with a side of garlic mashed potatoes to accompany my medium rare filet. What came out was a charred black and crunchy filet on the outside and purple on the inside. I've had wonderful filets at other steakhouses and made by family members and this was the first time I've ever seen a piece of meat so charred and black on the outside yet so rare on the inside. My boyfriend's scallops came out cool, cooked, but like it had been sitting in wait for awhile. We both continued to eat our meal until the rest of our party joined us. I ate a few more bites but soon got tired of eating such burnt tasting meat I had my boyfriend taste it for himself. The rest of the adults ended up ordering the exact same meal while also ordering a couple of sides and a child's sized meal for the groom's daughter. My boyfriend and I completed our meal by sharing the bread pudding which, other than the shrimp eggrolls, was the real winner in my book. When the rest of the table's order came out we noticed that they each got a side of steak sauce with their pre fixe menu and all of their filets looked like they were cooked according to their requests. At that point, we couldn't let our waitress know about how dissatisfied we were with our meals. He had already finished his scallops and I had already eaten most of mine. I also wasn't aware my filet was supposed to come with a steak sauce. At this point I was feeling a bit uncomfortable knowing that when there were just two people in the dining room eager and ready to be served only to be disappointed by the meals we ordered. Perhaps we put too high of an expectation at a restaurant such as Sullivan's. I'm not sure. But we were both ready to pay our bill and leave. When we got home my boyfriend's brother texted him that when it was time for their bill to be paid, since we paid for ours separately, they were given our bill for their bill. This was probably the kicker in this whole experience. That the restaurant attempted to give them a bill meant for two people to a party of five not once but twice. Our bill for two meals, a side, an appetizer, and a tea was $120. A party of five with four adults ordering a $46 pre fixe menu does not equate to $120 at all. I'm not sure why there was such confusion but it didn't help my experience get any better after having a less than par meal. I absolutely hope that this experience was just a fluke and that on a normal day these incidences are rare. However, how does a party of two when no one else in the dining room was around get such poorly made meals at a pretty pricey restaurant? read more

For such a famous steakhouse, this review is kind of hard to write. I'll start with, not impressed. Boring stale menu. It doesn't look as if the menu or the atmosphere has been updated since the 80's. 34 kinds of Scotch that I could see. 20 kinds of bourbon, except only one of them was something you wouldn't find at a college bar. No aged rum, only Captain Morgan and Bacardi. Side choices are weak. The roasted Parmesan fried are horrible. I had to send them back. It is really bad to have cold soggy fried that have been drenched with garlic juice. I like hot crispy fries, although I'd prefer some other nice side choices. The atmosphere is old and dated, it needs a complete up to date refresh. I'll be surprised if this place is still here in two years. I'm giving it two stars even though it should only get one star for failing to meet expectations. read more
