The food is not good. Except for the trash can nachos there isn't a single good thing. The worst thing though is at night the DJ plays music that is so loud, even at the furthest table away from his speakers, you have to yell to be able to have a conversation. Half of the bar becomes a beer bong competition where they beg you to participate multiple times because too few people want to join but they still ruin half the bar for it. I went here for lunch (take out) yesterday and I finally got the Aurf and Turk Mac & Cheesesteak. Holy crap what have I been doing with my life to have been coming here occasionally for the last 3 years and have only just now tried this sandwich? It was incredibly juicy. I personally love Cheese Wiz on my Cheesesteak in Philly so the melted cheese sauce from the Mac and cheese was just perfect. The shrimp was seasoned perfectly. My wife got a triple decker club and she avoiding dairy right now (possible food allergy) even without the cheese that was probably the best club sandwich we've ever had. Their fries! OMG they have got to be the crispiest, tastiest fries around. To top this all off, I live in South Riding so we were picking up this food on our way home from Reston. When I got home the cheesesteak was still burn your tongue hot ! Incredibly fresh food. Bartender who helped me when I got there was incredibly friendly and helpful. The bartender was Gabe and he was friendly and super funny. The service & food were great! I was actually impressed since most dive places aren't always the best service. Sully's has always been good for reliable food - fresh, flavorful ingredients & nice presentation. The service is also very nice. They don't rush or run - but they are attentive & pleasant when we ask for a tweak in our order. (They've never made a mistake.) It's a laid back atmosphere & if you are in a rush, I'm guessing you could tell your server that & they would accommodate. That's how nice they are. With slowly re-opening, they have not dropped the ball at all on serving great food. We walked over Sat night & took a nice, shaded table - appropriately distanced from the others. Hubs had the cheeseburger & killer fries. I had the grilled chicken tacos - with mango slaw. They were so good - perfectly blackened chicken breast & a nice side of tasty rice & beans. Ok, Stevie V here with an update. It has been some time but I am back and about. So after hearing from management here I decided to go ahead and give it a new look... I was not disappointed. Went in with a couple other people and decided to give the menu a fair shake- Between us we ordered 3 apps, 3 meals and 1 desert as we had all too much food- we had Trashcan nachos, Deviled eggs "deep fried", and Loaded Tater tots- because hey even older people like tater tots!. Nachos were great! hearty helping of chips, chili and salsa. Next up deviled eggs - a weird flavor explosion as it was still warm, and the real bacon made for a nice texture. Tots, nice crispy with warm cheese and bacon. Apps were very good. We then had a Bleu bacon burger, Cheesesteak make and cheese with shrimp, and a chicken pot pie. Burger came out just the way we ordered, Med Rare, had good flavor and real bleu cheese with a good taste. Next was this cheesy behemoth - a loaded cheesesteak topped with mac and cheese and shrimp with old bay seasoning-- great flavor good texture and they did not skimp on the steak. Chicken pot pie, loaded with rich creamy filling and topped with mashed taters. added a bit a salt and pepper and it too was great. Holy Sh!t. Your grilled chicken slider needs to be a full sammich meal. How ever, I'm a small plate junkie and I get the small Plate big taste thing. Folks, hands down this is the best grilled chicken sammich (they are sliders) this fella has put down. We've been meaning to stop in for a while and finally made it out this last Sunday! We had a great time despite not being huge Dolphins fans. We didn't realize Sully's was a Dolphin's bar. Then just across the street is Jimmy's where everyone was rooting for the Bills. The friendly rivalry between patrons of the two bars was a hoot. I was craving nachos and my husband and I were debating between the trashcan nachos and the regular nachos on the menu - our server highly recommended the trashcan nachos so that's what we ordered. The nachos were delicious. I don't normally like nachos with chili as they tend to get soggy, but these did not. The tortilla chips were homemade. They were layered in a can with queso, chili, pico and jalapenos. Presentation is fun - the can is flipped on the plate and the nachos ooze out. I would order these again. I didn't even use much of the sour cream that was brought (highly unusual for me as I love sour cream on nachos). The nachos had a great flavor all on their own. We sat at a high top in the middle of the restaurant. There is nothing fancy about Sully's, but it's super clean and comfortable. They have a good selection of liquors and beers. Service was friendly, quick and efficient. Prices are super reasonable. I look forward to coming back to try some of the other items on the menu. read more

Decent little sports bar in downtown Herndon. It's a fairly small place but they have a pretty good layout of TVs to legitimately call themselves a sports bar. They also have video games and a few video poker machines (I think that's what they were) along the wall. They have a really good variety of beer in cans, bottles, and on draft. They also have a full bar and food menu. We stopped in on a college football Saturday and there were only 4 other people in there at the time - none of which were watching football. Regardless of that, they still had the TVs on various games. We ordered the cheese curd appetizer and a couple beers. The appetizer was fairly small, but the perfect size for the two of us. If you have more than 2 people in your party I would suggest ordering more. We didn't stay too long because we were meeting people elsewhere but it was getting busier right before we left. I noticed that they advertise a DJ on Saturday nights so I'm not sure how that affects the atmosphere or clientele. Overall, this is a place that we would probably hang out if we lived closer. read more

While the food want the best quality, it's bar food, so I can't knock it for that. (I had wings and my buddy had the steak sandwich) The beer selection was pretty great and the people were friendly. Where this place gets the 3 stars for me was timely service. We sat around waiting for our easy food for about 45 minutes while we were listening to, in my pinion, a subpar comedian. Wow. My wife, son, and myself were staying in DC for the week and found this place on Yelp. Folks-the service is great, it's got a 'clean/dive bar' motif down pat (it's very clean, but feels 'working class'), and it's got a stellar beer selection along with a bartender that knows his brews. But it's the food, people. Comfort meets unique tastes. The Mac and Cheese Surf and Turf steak sandwich was too big to finish, and the chicken and waffles with gravy and syrup left my wife speechless the whole meal. A pretty good Irish pub in Herndon. The back of the bar is a major local area parking lot which makes it very easy to get to/from the bar to your car. The bar itself isn't too big but I thought had a lot of character, with a slight bit of dive bar feel but not really there, as they had all kinds of trinkets from the bar's history and a bar counter with lots of little beer bottle caps. The menu was decent, with a variety of Irish foods and beers as well as those of a more general taste. I enjoyed the Shepard's Pie, though it felt a bit expensive for what one got. Situated across the street from Jimmy's Old Town Tavern, Sully's Pour House is the other "anchor" to Herndon's night life. The food's good, with the chicken curry being one of my personal favourites. The drink menu is solid with a selection of local VA beers, national and other famous brands. Their Sunday Brunch rocks, with a wonderful selection of pretty much anything you could want. Another nice thing they have is local trivia night, live music, and comedy acts. In short, you're going to find something you really like and want to come back to experience again. read more

I brought my Friends from Albany Ny who happen to be Marine Veterans and they got to sign a WALL that was placed in the front of the restaurant where they did it with a huge smile. They gave us tortilla chips that arre oily and tasteless and frankly taste at stale. And who doesn't give celery stick with buffalo dip?! That goes without saying! I had a blast here. But this is the kind of place its great to find after flying across the country being starving almost nothing is open and you just want some beer and edible filling something or other... Well the end result of my last weekend away was to arrive here. A couple of craft beers from various local breweries and the ability to sample one or two made me quite pleased with the choices I made of what to drink. The selection was pretty good and was broad based. They have some of the typical mass produced crap that I don't drink, a regional brew or two, and the aforementioned local craft brews. Additionally they have a number of spirits behind the bar and I was eyeing a few of the whiskeys, but with an early morning and it having been late already, I decided to just stick with my couple of beers. As for the food. It was typical pub/sports bar grub. The prices seemed typical, until I got the quantities. I ordered the cheesy bacon tots. I mean who doesn't love a good plate of tots covered with melting cheeses and bacon? Well for me this was absolutely my favorite part of the stop. I received a full pasta bowl full of tots covered in bacon and with cheese heavily layered over the bacon and tots. It was delicious. I wish my local bars served this kind of quantity with reasonable prices. The whole bill for a couple of craft pints and a mega plate of tots was under $20. That is entirely reasonable as well. The crowd and staff took me in and brought me into the conversation. That was awesome when you could tell it was pretty much just a locals haunt. Even more fun was that it was on a Thursday night. Who woulda thought that? Regardless Cheers to this place for taking in a random wayfarer and showing them a great time for a reasonable price. This placed used to be called O Sullivan's and I think being an Irish bar specifically was hard for first impressions- I mean come on, the Irish aren't known for their food..... But they're now a sports bar and a pretty decent one from what I can see. Kitchen appears slammed on this Football Sunday. Food is decent and service definitely hustles. Kitchen should be careful of overloading salads with dressing. Not to mention my salad had a piece of french fry that didn't belong... Had quite a few servers say hello and make eye contact while making sure we were ok. I was just eyeing all the fried food going past me lol. The only reason I had to down grade their rating is the women's bathroom. There are two toilets in the bathroom ....but no divider between them?? WTH?? Yeah... I'm not trying to share my toilet activities with even my best female friends....they need to fix that. Otherwise lots of Steelers fans here to watch the game. Nice location and beer selection, but that's where the "nice" stops. Small outdoor seating space, but no active service. Once inside, the bartender (bearded, elbow tattoo), was unexpectedly rude. And not in a dive bar sort of way. I would have actually enjoyed that. (Me: "Do you have a draft list?" Bartender: points to wall. Me: "Vodka cranberry with Stoli." Bartender: "Uh, yeah, no one drinks Stoli anymore."). Well, at least two people in my group do. I'll get over it, just won't patronize and we'll move to Jimmy's across the street next time.
