I came to Sulod with a friend based off his recommendation. Sulod is located upstairs once you walk into the establishment. For the atmosphere: Perfect for a speakeasy. It's dark and the r&b music set the vibe. Sulod is much bigger than I expected for a speakeasy, which is a good thing. There was plenty of seating available on a Wednesday after work. For the drinks: The menu is presented well with photos which is always fun. I went with the Leaf and Barrel, their play on an old fashioned. It was strong and well balanced. For the food: Sulod's food comes from their second concept, Zane. There is an open kitchen in Sulod. We started with the breaking bread- which came out soft and hot! The chili honey butter deserves an award! We tried the gem salad and cast iron cabbage next. The gem salad was AMAZING! It's Zane's take on a Caesar salad. For our entrees we had the crab noodles and wagyu steak. Both were delicious! I'd come back! Ask for Dominque to be your server!

Decided to pop in here for a night cap with friends to wind down the night. Since it was towards the end of the night there was a little space at the bar but some patrons were nice enough to slide over some too. They have a cool cocktail menu with Filipino inspired drinks and a food menu that looked pretty tasty but I didn't get any food this go round. I got a hot toddy because it was crazy cold and windy! Plus you can't always get a hot toddy. Delano was our bartender and he was great. He made good drink suggestions or made good substitutions if there was something they didn't have. All of us enjoyed the drinks he made. I would definitely come back here to try the food or just for another night cap. Cheers!

I stopped in Sulod on a Saturday evening. While it says "speakeasy" in the description it's not! This is a restaurant. It's upstairs from the Hall on H street . We sat at the bar, a cute space with graffit walls and about 15ish tables for dining, with a backdrop of R&B music it could be a vibe. The drink menu leaves some things to be desired... their take on some of the Filipino drinks from the previous restaurant possibly (I only tried the coffee/breakfast cafe). A few friends were there so I enjoyed myself but the bartender wasn't super personable and when I said the drink menu didn't speak to me there was no effort to see if we wanted something different. My friend and I ordered a prosecco. A few people were eating ... the food looked good (and they were moderately busy for a Saturday). It was cool to check it out I'm not sure if I would choose this as my destination to return.

What a VIBE! From walking into their entrance or H St Food Hall doors, It's the perfect place added to this eatery. Curated cocktails from some of the best bartenders in the city to the perfect mix of Caribbean cuisine and Asian- How could you really go wrong?! Staff is friendly and personable to make your experience top notch. Make sure you try the Ube Espresso Martini and the Suka Martini (just 2 of my personal go-tos). As I walked in thus last time there was a couple standing outside not sure where to go and I told them to at least check it out. They thanked me on their way out for recommending. CHECK IT OUT! AND DONT MISS Happy Hour weekly and Karaoke nights!

I was already sitting at the bar when the person finally texted me back, sigh. Piss poor communication all around The music downstairs was VERY loud. The bartendar would change the music based on the "type" of people that came in. This was apparent to me & my guest. We listen to all types of music so it wasn't a bother, but she did it for Every Single couple/group that walked in The Place smelled like OLD sitting water. Soon as I walked into the pizza place, my face soured up. Same deal downstairs, where they masked the smell with incense. Cheeze pizza slice was good. The decor is nice and the bartender was friendly. It was a little confusing getting a reservation because the website is down. So I called the pizza shop, he told me to hang up and.call back. I was able to speak to someone and get a reservation. He said he would text me the confirmation and access code. I received the confirmation but not the access code. I texted the number when I arrived and got the code. I was there 630 on a Saturday so it was pretty empty. Service was quick. They do have a food menu and you are able to order small appetizers, pizza and sandwiches. I just had a drink but Will definitely be back to try the food.

It honestly felt like one of those "come as you are" church situations .lol There were people in dressed in rompers, tights, Jordans . I actually felt a little overdressed. That said, the place was packed, which made for a fun atmosphere. The DJ was good overall, though at one point he started playing church music. I'm not sure if people were just tipsy or didn't notice, because everyone kept dancing anyway. lol The drinks were decent, and the final bill was surprisingly low, which was a nice bonus. Since we were celebrating a birthday, our waitress even gave us a complimentary birthday shot. I'd definitely return. I'm curious to see what the vibe is like during the week. Also, parking was easy there's was parking lot right across the street, which made things super convenient.

Service for a slow night was nonexistent, we sat down at a booth in the back and waited. People (workers) at the bar, several people, were talking amongst themselves. My friend finally got up to get us drinks. Not cool on their part. Drinks were okay, we didn't stay long as it was a work night. Navy Yard has had tons of robberies lately and it's definitely not safe to be roaming these streets. These folks are not playing, men, women they are robbing anyone in broad day light, be careful Navy Yard patrons. All in all, this place is cute, I came, conquered and lucky to have been introduced to this chic little speakeasy! One and done for me unless I'm a plus one again.

There is plenty of free parking and availability on a weeknight so if you are interested in checking this place out for the food, drinks, and chill vibes definitely come on a weeknight. As many have previously stated, you enter in through a flower shop and are greeted by a pleasant hostess who leads you through a wooden door, down some stairs into a lounge that has plenty of plush seating and a DJ spinning classic hits with some international variations (which I thought were really cool). This place has an extensive cocktail/Mocktail list and a seasonal menu with that showcase modern twists on Argentinian cuisine. My friend ordered the oysters that come topped with chimichurri and the zucchini salad. I got the king crab empanadas with a side of fries. For drinks, she got the chai carrot cake composed of gin, scotch and a purple carrot liqueur. I got the Milo's Lemonade which is a mocktail composed of Yerba mate tereré, lemon verbena grapefruit, and peach cordial strawberry oleo. Everything that we had here was delicious and our server was on point. Definitely recommend of you are in the area for good drinks and small bites.

Everyone we encountered, from the hostess to the bartender to our waitress, was incredibly kind. They even have a coat check, which was a great perk! it was so nice to sit and relax without dealing with our bags. The whole ambiance felt really classy. The menu is in Spanish, that was a nice touch. I ordered an espresso martini, which wasn't on the menu, but they made it and it was delicious! I also tried the El Dorado cocktail, it's very sweet, perfect if you're not into the taste of alcohol, though it's still strong, so definitely know your limit. We ordered a few small plates but the prawns were our favorite. Can't wait to go back!
