Last night I decided to place an order for pickup and drove a good 30 mins only to find out they were closed, with a sign on their door saying they decided to close early for Eid. I have no issues with restaurants having to close early, especially for a religious holiday, however, make sure your customers are informed. How about turning off the ability to place a pickup order or even leaving a pre-recorded message on the phone so people do not have to waste their time driving... Once I got to the store, I noticed a few people who also drove in to be disappointed the place was closed. This review is not reflective of the food (which is what reviews should be).. I was anticipating eating here after reading all the rave reviews, but it was not to be. Good thing Yelp was able to refund my order.. Maybe one day I'll return to give them a try. read more

Best Chicken Shwarma wrap ever! And such nice people! They were so happy to see us! Truly a great find!

This place is 5 stars for a reason!! We got a couple of combo platters and each meat item was just hands down delicious. beef, kefta kebab, chicken ... all just yummm! I'm not a huge falafel fan because most places are just too oily or burnt, but he falafel here was just perfect, flavorful, soft onthe inside, crisp on the outside and did not taste like it was drowned in oil. We chose Sultan Kebab because we were meeting friends from Oak Park and were looking for someplace in between that was healthy. Sultan's ratings on Yelp were very strong, so it appeared to be what we were looking for. It turned out to be much more than what we were looking for! Everyone loved their meals so much. The meals came with hummus and fresh warm pita. There was also tahini and the best falafel I've ever tasted. Normally I don't like falafel, but I thought I'd give it a try. It was just awesome. I had lamb kebab and it was the tastiest, moistest lamb I've ever had. It had a wonderfully grilled surface with a tender moist interior. Oh my goodness, it was so good! I tasted my husband's dolms and it too was the best I have ever had. This place deserves every five-star rating it has been given. The prices were decent, the waitstaff was terrific, and the food was superb! read more

I always get their very affordable lunch special, combination of meats and falafel! Since the prices are so low, I don't gripe too much about paying for garlic sauce. Stopped here for lunch during a work event at the Hyatt. Absolutely excellent food and service. Got the veggie combination plate with the grape leaves, hummus, baba ganoush, and garden salad. The baba was excellent. Got the lentil soup on the side and it was great. About $12 total, and had extra to go. Got some desserts to take out, very good. Fast, friendly service. I chose to try this place with my family because it had 5 stars and 44 reviews. I now know why they have a perfect rating. The food is delicious! I had the combination plate and everything was so good. I practically licked my plate clean. The service was excellent as well. I unfortunately wasn't able try the soup because it had carrots in it (and I am allergic to carrots) but everyone at my table tried the soup and was very happy with it. Even my two year old niece gave the food a thumbs up several times while eating. Anytime I find myself back in the Chicago area, I will make sure to eat here. I only wish there was a Mediterranean restaurant on this level of deliciousness in New Jersey. I cannot recommend this place enough. I am sad to give it a 3-star review, but just wasn't impressed. The chicken shawarma was good and the hummus was also pretty tasty. Looks to be traditional middle eastern food , but with a clearly Turkish influence. The Adana was simply not very good. I would have loved if they had Turkish bread with the hummus, but instead it was just your average pita bread. It wasn't bad overall, just not great. read more

Ordered pick up from this place today. I am sorry there are no pictures because the food was devoured immediately. I got the grilled lamb kebab plate. 1) the food was prepared in a timely manner 2) the kebabs were super tender and not chewey and perfectly seasoned, not a lot of fat (hard to find for lamb kebab) yet so juicy and tender. The place came with a side of salad and rice, both really good as well. The owner is super nice as well. The place is more like a café not super fancy on the inside but who cares? Exellent service! As we came in 10 minutes before closing, and they still gave us very good serviece, he recommended us the best meals, and even gave us free pita bread with hummus! But, I am not just writing this review just for the free hummus, the food was also very good! The chicken and shish kebabs and the schwarmas were seasoned very well! It had just the right amount of spice and salt! Very good food in general! The service was remearkable, as we sat down, he started to grill our food! Food is fair but they are slow during lunch time. The food is ok if you are craving for authentic middle eastern food. They are serve fresh. It takes a while to get your order. The price is a little higher compare to other places I know that serve the same cuisine. I ordered the lunch special chicken menu and it's a good portion for lunch.
