I had a surprising health-jeopardizing experience at your restaurant on 10/7/2020. I live in Miami. I have been eating here for decades. On this particular night I went there in person. I placed my order. It's then that I noticed the chef was preparing the order before mine wearing a mask on her chin, nostrils and mouth exposed, talking on the phone, and leaning over the counter, the salad station, the meat prep area, the stove, etc. I politely asked the hostess if the cook would mind affixing her mask properly while making my food. She turned to the cook who responded in Spanish that she would not. I asked again. The hostess asked the cook, who again responded in Spanish (which the hostess translated) that the owner had given all of the cooks permission not to wear masks while cooking. The cook was super annoyed and relayed that she did not have one of the items I had wanted for my meal. The hostess apologized for the cook's refusal to wear a mask. I canceled my order, walked out, and ate at STK instead. I asked the mgr at STK about their mask policy before I ordered. She said everyone including cooks and kitchen staff were required to wear masks at all times. Your cook should not have been in the kitchen without a mask. I won't be able to dine there again until that is the case during this pandemic. Your place has been a bright spot for me throughout the pandemic. The staff has always been great. I really liked this place. Very small but pretty comfortable. The kind of place that makes you feel like you can stay there for hours without the server pressuring you to leave the table. A place to get a late night meal or snack after a night out. Tables outside are usually full and inside they are empty. Staff can be kind of standoffish or nice depends on who you get. I went three times during this trip each time telling myself I wouldn't go again but then couldn't find anything else open other than room service. Dined here 3 times of my 4 night stay in Miami. The first night we dined here by accident just waiting on friends so my husband and I sat outside and had a pizza which was tasty. The menu looked pretty good so I came back the next day and had the lamb. It was cooked perfectly! The server on this day was amazing.. she checked on me often and made sure everything was ok. The next day I came back and had the hummus and a Greek salad with chicken. Again the food was amazing but the service was horrible. The server checked on everyone but me, she didn't even bother to bring me my check. The price is reasonable.. I compared prices with other Mediterranean places and they were about the same. Considering I got violently ill last night from eating here (besides Denny's, only place open after a late-night showing of Inception, which ended at around 2:30 a.m.), and this afternoon I am still feeling the after-effects of vomiting and diarrhea all night, I doubt I will ever eat here again. There is nothing Greek about this place, it is below-average Mediterranean food. The pita was hard and cold (probably frozen pita that they just stick in an over), and the olives in the grape leaf appetizer had a very odd after-taste, like rubbing alcohol, and I am thinking that's probably what made me sick. I advise against eating the olives. After eating fresh, homemade pita and Mediterranean food elsewhere, this place pales by comparison but I guess it's in a convenient location for many. All I can say is that they are lucky they're in a good location, because Med Grill (or Grill Med) had much better food, but since they were in a small, dark street nowhere near the clubs, I assume that's why they (sadly) had to close down. read more

PLEASE CALCULATE AND CROSS- CHECK YOUR RECEIPT! Food and service were decent at this casual Mediterranean cafe, but what tainted the experience is that they do a really sneaky thing with calculating the tip. They put it in twice, first automatically before you submit your credit card, then they take your card, add the tip into the total and calculate a new total with another line for the same amount of tip. Unless you're checking, you'll easily sign off on a 30% tip. Now if you think you received service and food to warrant that, go for it, but they are definitely hoping patrons don't notice the double- counting of the tip. :-) read more

Shitty food. Shitty service. Its main draw is that it's cheap, but it really isn't so cheap, especially for the garbage that they serve. Also, when you ask for water, they immediately give you a $2.25 bottle of water, and they automatically add 15% tip on the bill. That probably explains why the service is so shitty. read more
