S8. General Tso's Chicken lunch special with wonton soup and egg roll.
    Eleanor V.

General Tso's Chicken was pretty good, nice and spicy but the rice tasted funny. It was undercooked and the strong taste of oil used to make it meant it was probably old oil being re-used. The wonton soup was probably the best thing I had, the egg roll was meh... just ok.

Sultan Wok left menus on my door last week and I decided to give them a try this past Friday night and boy was I impressed! I ordered on their online portal (so convenient) and within minutes they called me to get my payment information and within 30 minutes, I had the food delivered to my door. This was extremely impressive, seeing as I am not even in the same town as the restaurant. When the food arrived it was STEAMING hot so I know it didn't sit around waiting to be delivered. I had the chicken and broccoli combo dinner and my boyfriend had the boneless ribs combo. Both were very good. However, the boneless ribs were the better of the 2 meals. What stuck out about the ribs was that they were thick cut unlike many other Chinese restaurants. This made a big difference and they were absolutely delicious. The only negative I can say about my dinner was the fried rice was a bit too salty for my taste- but this didn't stop me from eating the entire portion lol I will be ordering from Sultan Wok in the future for sure.

    Pan fried chicken dumplings

I ordered lunch delivery from Sultan Wok. My lunch special did not make it to the delivery minimum, so I added the pan fried chicken dumplings. I was also given lots of sauce packets, a fortune cookie, fried noodle chips, and utensils. The shrimp chow mein was alright. I kept looking up images of chow mein online to see what I would be receiving. There were many different images, and I wasn't expecting my food to look the way it was. Regardless, it was nice to have a mostly vegetable meal. The pork fried rice was delicious. Not salty or anything. I poured soy sauce and hot sauce over both the shrimp chow mein and pork fried rice for extra flavor. I really loved the pan fried chicken dumplings. They come with a dipping sauce that tastes a little salty. The dumplings were fried to perfection. They had a slight crunch and then were soft on the inside. The chicken on the inside was flavorful. I preferred these over the shrimp chow mein. I'll definitely be ordering the pan fried chicken dumplings from here again.

Ordered delivery and the gentleman who took my order was so pleasant. The satay chicken was superb and enough for three people. Excellent food and value. My husband ordered general tso chicken and boneless spare ribs. Very flavorful and a large portion. Will definitely order from here again!

American roll, Christmas roll, spicy salmon roll, and Alaska roll.

We ordered 4 sushi rolls for delivery. Christmas roll (tuna, avocado, tobiko): for someone who usually hates tuna, this roll was actually not bad. Tuna is fresh. Spicy salmon roll: it's okay. It's a little too mushy for me, but I could see how other people would like it. Alaska roll (cooked salmon and cucumber): this roll is very good. Taste and texture both on point. American roll (shrimp tempura, cucumber, crab cake, avocado): this is my favorite one. There are 4 pieces instead of 6, but the pieces are huge. The rolls fell apart easily and were a little sloppy, but they weren't bad. Overall okay. You cannot login to your account on their website on mobile. If you try to do this, you will get a notification that says the email and password aren't associated with an account. You can only login on an actual computer, so this isn't always the most convenient for placing an order online. Delivery took longer than expected.

Very small low key place. It's more for take out. The wait was not long for my Boston Roll, which was delicious. The only bad thing was that the ginger was really really dry. They have great reasonable prices and they don't limit themselves to just sushi. Came here for lunch from New Brunswick because of their prices. Would definitely come back to try the Chinese food.

Have nothing bad to say about this restaurant, which has been in Highland Park for 17 years (we just never tried them out, surprisingly!) We got their flyers all the time though.... :-) and yes, they deliver to North Brunswick! That's quite a range to cover. Ordered the basics: Chicken w/cashew lunch special and Chicken Pad Thai. I asked for low sodium, low oil preparation, and the server politely said that they do not add salt, except for the soy sauce. And it shows in the result -- it's really not oily, and not salty at all. While the pad thai is missing the basil, it's still delicious. The lunch special has a more than average quality, both with generous portions. The place itself is small and cramped space inside, with only two small tables with high chairs camouflaged among stacks of boxes of take-out menus, so obviously it's geared for take-outs. Overall, pleasantly surprised with this "find".

The Bento Box A :/ it's burnt. Next photo has flash if ur worried about my lighting.

So I loved this place the sushi was decent UNTILLLLL I got a chicken bento box A. And well, you get the gist from the pictures. Don't get anything from the cooked menu honestly. Last time I got sweet and sour chicken and it was completely soggy by the time it came bc they packed the chicken so tightly in a Chinese take out box that it started to get steamy and soggy. Idk. The quality of this place really isn't it. And I can usually take eating sub-par food well.

I've eaten at Ottoyee for months now, and each experience has been incredibly delicious. However, the only thing is that the wait time can run very long. Not for the food to arrive, but for placing the order. We tried to get the attention of the waiter on staff multiple times, but was either ignored or they were behind the screen attending to something else. The wait time was around 15-20 minutes, but this is likely attributed to the small staff. Otherwise though, they were incredibly kind and knowledgeable of the menu and we still had a delicious experience as usual.

Upon entertaining on a weekend evening, there were a few tables with patrons but not too busy. The restaurant did seem a bit understaffed with only one person taking orders / bringing food out, making it difficult to flag down this one person to successfully take our order and ask for anything additional throughout the night. Gyudon: for the price, we were really surprised at how small of a portion this was. It was not only in a small bowl, but the meat was layered on top perfectly deceiving you to think that there was more than there actually was. The majority of this dish was rice, and with limited sauce at that. As displayed on the menu images it was to be served with a runny egg, but unfortunately we got a fully cooked one (disappointing, as we were looking for something to mix with the rice!) Sushi: We got a 3 rolls and they were just alright. They were pretty small in size, with less rice than I'm used to (which is something I do like - I would rather more fish than rice!) With us getting spicy salmon, spicy tuna, and spicy scallop - they all kind of tasted the same, so I wish the fish wasn't as heavily masked with spicy mayo. Ramen: I got the black garlic ramen, and it wasn't the best, but wasn't the worst. I've purchased fresh ramen packages in the supermarket before and it tasted just like that, so it made me disappointed knowing I could achieve the same at home. The soup itself was extremely rich and fatty, and the charsiu had no flavor whatsoever leaving much to be desired. The main reason I'm rating this so low is upon having my last bites of sushi, I could tell something was off. I don't recall which specifically I had but I made a statement that it was extremely fishy and off putting. Fast forward later that night, I was hunched over the toilet vomiting with stomach pain - and I can deduct that the sushi was the culprit. I might consider trying Ottoyee again due to the great deals they have listed on food delivery apps, but the sushi quality (quite literally) put a bad taste in my mouth.

The ramen is just as rich, flavorful, and comforting as the original. We came with high expectations, and both the tonkotsu and spicy miso ramen were as satisfying as ever. That creamy pork broth? Still unbeatable. The spice and depth of the miso? Well balanced. And yes, we definitely got the takoyaki again (some habits shouldn't be broken). One major plus: street parking is way easier here compared to the Bayard St location. No circling the block endlessly or needing to pay metered parking -- we found free parking right out front, which made the whole experience feel way more relaxed. Any downsides? The Easton spot is smaller, with fewer tables and a tighter layout. It feels more like a ramen bar than a sit-down social restaurant, which is fine for a quick meal or a casual date night, but maybe not ideal for bigger groups or a cozier intimate feel. That said, the staff was helpful and attentive, and the ramen quality hasn't skipped a beat. Like many people today, I'm mindful of what I spend dining out, so I expect good value for the price. Since I live in South Jersey, I brought the food home to eat later. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The ramen included four slices of chashu (pork belly), but three of those slices were entirely fat with no meat. I understand that pork belly naturally contains fat--that's part of what makes it flavorful--but receiving pieces that were essentially all fat made the dish unpleasant and felt like poor quality control. I called the restaurant to share my concern, but the response was underwhelming. I was simply told the manager would be informed. When I asked if there was anything further that could be done, I received no real resolution--just a basic explanation of what pork belly is. As someone who understands the product, that explanation missed the point. The issue wasn't what chashu is--it was the quality of what was served. Everything else about the meal was fine, which is why I'm giving two stars instead of one. However, customer service matters just as much as the food. A simple effort to address the issue or offer a solution would have made a big difference. As a former business owner, I've always believed customer satisfaction should be a top priority. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here, and for that reason, I won't be returning.
