If I had to pick a favorite restaurant since I have been here in Sacramento I would have to give it to this place here. Hands down everything about this place was amazing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]As SOON as I walked in I got a nostalgic oaky-woodsy type of smell that threw me back to my childhood days.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior is so beautiful I really recommend this spot for any occasion like family dinner, a date and even yapping session.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was amazing I love who attentive the waitress was the entire time. The food was DELICIOUS! Let me tell you, it's better to show up hungry because the portions are huge! They can definitely be shareable which is also nice. Seasoned very well, temperature was great and extremely flavorful. Please give this place a try you definitely won't be disappointed.

PLS STAY THE SAME FOREVER SUMER NIGHTS!!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe is amazing[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], the service is amazing and quick (it was monday), the food was banger and affordable and we had to take everything home because the serving size is amazing and super filling.

What a great restaurant! My husband and I went last night and we had the mixed kabob plate (beef kabob and chicken kabob), which came with a large portion of their rice, pickled vegetables, 2 very large Iraquí flatbreads, and 4 appetizers (mezze style). The appetizers we received (chef's choice) were babaganoush, coleslaw, pasta salad and I cannot recall the name of the fourth item, but our server said it was some vegetables and nuts ground together (almost paste-like) - it was alll tasty! Our server was super nice and when we asked if there were any sauces to try with the food, she brought all three: spicy sauce (amazing; we asked for a second bowl of this), garlic sauce, and tahini. We definitely thought that the kabob plate was shareable because of the appetizers and flatbread that comes included. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is large and there's a good space between the tables, which I appreciate.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Was heading back from Lake Tahoe on Christmas Eve , called them in advance to dine in. We ordered goat Mandi (they call it something else). Basically lamb shank with rice and dry fruits in it. The food was ok , I thought it could have more flavor, the starters / appetizers that come along with the food were awesome. They gave soup as well. Overall the ambience is 10/10 Service 10/10 Food 8/10 Would try something else next time.

The food we ordered it's delicious but the Lamb Tikka was a little bit dry. Next time I maybe ask them to cook it medium rare. Big plates and plenty of food. We went in around 11 AM. Saturday morning so it's no waits time, just walked right in. Good service. Recommend you to try.

Stopped in for lunch on a Monday. We decided to share a Mix Tikka plate, with an added an order of falafel. Our meal also included a Chefs choice appetizer plate, with a Cole slaw, two kinds of eggplant (Baba Ghanouge), a cucumber & yogurt salad (Tzatziki) and a bowl of lentil soup. Plus Iraqi flat bread. Plates were garnished with an assortment of pickled vegetables. THE PROS: Generous portions and quite nicely plated. The yellow rice had a sweet and delicate flavor. The falafel were crunchy and hot. A slightly sour-Tahini yogurt dipping sauce paired well with the dish. The lentil soup was made with a chicken noodle soup base. Staff was attentive, and patient with our questions. The decor was pleasant, with lots of wood and stone. THE CONS: The lamb and chicken Tikka plate had nice pieces of meat, with a good char, but did not have a sauce or seasoning per se. The lamb was a bit stronger than expected, so a sauce of some kind would have been a plus. Also, while not bad at lunch, I can see it being a bit noisy when busy, as there is very little sound- absorbing materials in the restaurant. BOTTOM LINE: I am, by-no-means, any kind of judge of Middle Eastern food. So whether it is authentic or lacking is beyond me. That being said, we both enjoyed the food-lunch was tasty, but I cannot say there was any single outstanding flavor that knocked me out. I'm glad we gave it a try. 6.5/10. Price: About $40

Decided to check out this Iraqi food restaurant in what is and has been a long somewhat abandoned mall and glad I did. Service was very good, prompt, polite and friendly. Food is generous in size and discovered that you get appetizers and a split pea soup with your main dish, as I was eyeing the Appetizers menu but unsure how large the main dish was. Appetizers were beets with date molasses, some pasta curly noddles with a red sweet relish, and some delicious hummus with olive oil that came with two giant football shaped pieces of Iraqi bread and cucumber yogurt dish. My Mix Kebab plate came with enjoyable pickled cucumber, cauliflower, red bell pepper and was tasty, yellow rice with yellow currants and almond slices that was light and tasty, an two very long chicken kebab and lamb and beef together kebab that both kebabs were delicious but more then I could eat so became a second meal! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience and decor was appealing with cool lighting, comfortable seating, and spacious dining area with a bar and reserved area that has a variety of baklavas for dessert![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Formerly a surf style bar a restaurant, Summer Nights is like a trip to Arabian Nights cuisine and worth the trip for some good middle eastern food![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My date has the lamb wrap hot sandwich, which was served in some good bread and had good sized pieces of lamb but lacked some yogurt sauce to make it less dry and make it more savory. Still the all food was tasty and fresh, so deserves a repeat visit.

Great quality kabobs, the beef/lamb one was my favorite but both that one and the chicken were flavorful and not dry at all. The rice, lentil soup, bread, and appetizer mix plate that came with the meal were all good as well. I thought the prices were a bit high but they definitely compensate with large portions. Service was very friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was also clean and spacious inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would come back for sure.

First time trying this place. Service was great. The lamb Quzi was the highlight, fork tender. Enough for 3-4 people. The Tikka skewers were okay. Lamb was a little too well done, wished there was an option for medium rare. Chicken was better, tasty and juicy.

I got the tikka combo which involves skewered lamb and chicken over rice. There's some hummus, a big piece of bread, and a salad involved. Overall, I thought everything could have been more flavorful. While I'm a sauce man, if a place doesn't beg me to ask for sauce or add more, I'm pretty impressed. Further, the lamb was kind of tough. Perhaps, some of the other items could be better. They seem to have some nice baked good options. I guess the $ is competitive, but for $20+ for an entree and soda... Service: order at the register. I have found memories of all the prior Moroccan restaurants I've eaten at in SF and San Jose, and the fun watching the belly dancers that makes it all a festive mood. The service was prompt and attentive but when we asked about the spices used in the carrots appetizer he was unsure of the ingredients, we asked because they were outstanding in flavor. I offered the Sultans Feast meal which gave a large variety of appetizers to include wonderful Lentil Soup, tasty Hummus, carrots and beets are an option depending on the season, and a very unique tasting dish made with filo bread, almonds and eggs called B'Stela Royal that was both rich and light. For the entrees there was a the vegetarian Couscous called OUJDI, and to share also the traditional Moroccan Stew called Tangines, and I wanted the beef stew after having it in Spain as it was delicious, it's called BIDAWI. You must have the Mint Tea, it's a bit sweet here but always refreshing and a taste treat, the meal ends with Baklava and was mouth watering marvelous! Overall a good experience, though I was surprised given the quality of each plate that the peas in the beef stew and couscous seemed like not fresh but canned peas, as they were so squishy and lacked much flavor. All the other meals were tasty, unique and plentiful in serving size. Also a must have is the Honey Sauce and Almonds chicken had an amazing sauce and not to be missed. The chicken was a little overdone and not as moist as expected for a sauce based chicken but still tasty with a bounty of different flavors mixed in and that sauce was addictive , and had some yogurt added ! Casablanca was a fun and satisfying experience and with only one other small group of guests, I hope their business improves as we need unique ethnic cuisine to improve the variety of foods and styles we eat!

Server did offer to let us choose 2 different meats for our two #41 Koobideh plates (2 beef skewers for $25), but I think we would have been better off just ordering one #61 All Koobideh plate (3 different meat skewers for $34). One plate has plenty of basmati rice for two people to share. She suggested the two #41 orders, instead of answering how much an extra order of rice would cost. Maybe you can't order a side of rice? Rice comes with each entree. By ordering the 2nd plate, she offered or included the $8 Bread Basket for no extra charge. It was my friend's birthday. I wanted to pay, and she wanted to order extra to go, so I wanted two separate bills, but it seemed too complicated to explain or disallowed. After the food was delivered to the table, server didn't check on us anymore. I guess the restaurant doesn't do anything special for birthdays. My friend thought all the koobideh tasted the same. I liked them in this order: 1) Lamb, 2) Chicken, and 3) Beef, but they're the same texture, so they aren't all that different. I should have ordered a different 2nd entree, instead of two Koobideh plates. The #18 Bademjan Borani eggplant appetizer was yummy. It did come with some bread, so you don't have to order the bread basket. The bread is served warm. The basmati rice was light and fluffy, but not flavorful or buttery. You can pay a $4 upgrade to switch the rice to salad or a fancier stir fried rice. Read the Vegetarian Dishes menu section to learn about the various fried rice or polo preparations. Our server suggested the Fava Bean Rice or Baghali Polo because it is a Persian New Year dish. Yelp reviewers recommended the Zereshk Polo, which includes barberries, a fruit similar to currants. $10 to add a skewer of veggies. $4 to add a salad is mentioned under the Vegetarian Dishes menu and Seafood & Combination Plates menu. I didn't like how the sugar cubes for the Persian Tea were served. It looked communal and exposed to the elements. You could see sugar dust on the serving bowl. Other Persian restaurants serve the sugar in a smaller covered bowl. Formal dining room. Lunch specials are Monday to Friday, 11 am to 3 pm, excluding holidays. Lunch prices range from $16-$20. 3 different $8 soup offerings: chicken barley, ashe reshteh, or green lentil.
