I'm giving Omar 5 stars for being nice. I certainly don't want to hurt his business. BUT I want to stress to folks calling for repairs---if you have an old refrigerator. Ie. 17 years old DON'T waste your money or much more than the initial inspection fee. I suspected that the "fix" would not work and I suspect that Omar did too. Just go get a new refrigerator and stop believing that the old one is so much better than anything new. True, but hardly worth fixing. The hassle of believing and then delaying the purchase was as bad as the broken frig. If the frig is leaking Freon, it's doubtful that a squirt of the stuff will fix all. Omar is a high quality professional: easy to communicate with, arrieved at the appointment on time, excellent apprearence, wore boot covers to protect our floors, and friendly too. My Subzero freezer (from 1997) started leaking profusely from the broken ice cube maker on a Sunday afternoon. If I could give Omar/Summer Fridge 10 stars, I would have done so. Here's why: Our fridge have been acting up since last year. No less than five appliance repair companies came, did what they thought was the solution, charged for it, but the issue remained. Although covered by home warranty, out of desperation we called Omar and explained the problem to him over the phone. Answering a few simple questions, he was able to identify the problem and was kind enough to actually come and inspect it in person to confirm his earlier diagnosis. We had a great experience with Omar. I got him on the phone easily in the morning, and he was able to fit us into his schedule late afternoon. He's a great communicator, fixed the frig in no time, and he returned the following day to bring an additional part he didn't have the first day. Still, he wants to come back when the special-ordered frig bulb he placed comes in. We had gotten used to a dark frig that we didn't even realize the bulb was out! Are Kenmore refrigerator stopped working one morning. After being told by for other companies that they cannot work on my Kenmore refrigerator, Summer Fridge said they would be out the next day. They were there no more than 30 minutes putting my refrigerator back working good as new. These guys knew what they were doing. The other companies said you could not buy parts any longer for Kenmore, they didn't want to work on something older. You can't find compressors or fans for them any longer. And these were five star companies. When I told Summer Fridge, this they looked at me and disbelief. They said there's no problem getting parts and it's not an issue working on them. My freezer was not staying cold enough to freeze. (2004 Amana which has been a great fridge). Had it cranked to highest setting which provided some coolness for a day. I scanned the yelp reviews for repair places in my area. Several 4.5+ reviews but I called Omar as he had straight 5-stars. He was able to get me in the next afternoon. He was running early on account of lighter traffic than expected so was 30min early. He was efficient, professional, and politely answered my questions (i tend to ask questions to learn & understand the work) and in the end gave me a discount to his original quote to replace my compressor switch. He did test the compressor to make sure it was good, which I appreciate he was identifying the right thing to fix. He mentioned keeping the coil clean as well (front panel, below freezer drawer). Cannot recommend them enough. Our Liebherr fridge began to have a series of problems. First, it was not cooling. We had someone come in and fix that, only to break something else. We spent around $2000 on fixes that did not work, and countless weeks of stress over a faulty fridge. Summer fridge actually has experience with Liebherr (rare!!), diagnosed the issue, confirmed with the dealer, and was ACTUALLY responsive and reliable. And was the best prices we had seen. Our 27 year old Whirlpool fridge began making a clicking noise on Sunday evening and within 12-hours everything had melted in the fridge. We called Omar at 8am Monday and he told us that it was probably the compressor switch rather than the compressor and cost would be about $300. He visited that day and the issue was fixed by 2pm- it was the compressor switch and cost was $295. He let us know the compressor is still working fine and the fridge is in good condition. I went through my home warranty and they sent Omar to repair our LG fridge. He immediately was able to recognize the issue with the compressor and started the process of ordering the replacement thru LG immediately. Once the compressor was delivered The control board was not upgrading , luckily Omar had a spare board but still ordered a replacement and installed it when it arrived.
