Ran into this place to grab a quick bite. It looks like some sort of a meeting place, tons of long tables, chairs and elk antlers. The cook was friendly and went out of her way to make sure we were happy. Their version of a Rueben was outstanding. We split one and an order of fries, which are ordered at the bar in front. What a fantastic find in small town Idaho. The Summervilles Steakhouse is amazing. The restaurant is plain and comfortable. It's what you would expect for a town of 400+ people. However, what I didn't expect was 5 star food and service. The food is outstanding and the portions are huge. Probably one of the best Ribeye steaks, I have ever had. The server said it was cut that morning. The meat was thick and juicy and cooked exactly the way I ordered it. The steak fries were were seasoned and equally very good. The meal comes with a huge salad that has all the trimmings. My wife had the salmon which she said was the best she has ever eaten. The baked potato was epic also. They have a great craft beer selection and a full bar. The service was friendly, professional, and prompt. The prices were very reasonable considering the amount of food that you get. This place is a gem. They have new owners and the steakhouse is regrouping and will be open soon, but the bar is such a great atmosphere! They have a pizza room downstairs with games for the kids and the pizza is really good! They have sandwiches too and even the bar food is so good. Great service! If you are there, Kristy was the sweetest bartender and the owner is the sweetest person you will ever meet. 10/10 and highly recommend if you are in the area!! We went to this location on a Friday and arrived a little past 9:30. We were on a long drive and had an option to eat a couple of hours earlier in another location, but based on posted reviews, we opted to wait for steak. The bar was open until 2am, but sadly, we were told the kitchen closes at 10 and was no longer taking orders. They did offer a variety of bar snacks at a reasonable price point, and as we had really had no other option for food at that time of night, we opted to have the "snacks" and my husband decided to have a couple of drinks also. What could have been a disaster turned out to be fine as the bar snack portions were enough to satisfy our hunger. Mozzarella sticks, jalapeño poppers, butterfly shrimp, finger steaks, and more. While they took a little time to prepare due to (air fryer?) capacity, they were cooked thoroughly and tasted great. I even had some leftovers to take with us. Next time, we'll try and get there before the kitchen closes so we can try the steak and other kitchen fare. read more

I asked the manager at the lodge up the street, and she recommended dinner at Summerville's Steakhouse, claiming it was the best steak anywhere. I walked up the street past the coffee roasting, the gouge-eye tree (not dangerous) to come to Summerville's. The place is a little confusing with a bar on the right side and a part of the restaurant serving pizza and on the left side, through another door the steak house, also with a bar. It's a quiet little spot like so many places of it's time period. The waitress and cook were very welcoming. They have a great selection of local beers on tap. I ordered the ribeye steak with baked potato which comes with a salad. Everything was top notch. I've been to plenty of super-high priced steakhouses and, frankly, they did not compare to this steak. Ruth's Chris is very fine, but I'd have had to take out a loan for meal if I had what I had at Summerville's. I ordered the steak medium, and it was exactly that, a real art. The steak was nicely crisp on the outside and richly flavorful. I have never enjoyed a steak more. What a great meal. It's places like this that make travel great. I'll definitely be back and bring family and friends. read more

Probably the best place in town if you want to hang out with the local drunks, but we were passing through town and stopped for lunch, so it was only about a fourth of the local drunks that day. The pizza was like muffin top. Delicious, but so full of toppings it was tall and domed to look like a cathedral. Reuben sandwich was just OK. I guess you have to serve yourself drinks? We decided to take a trip on the bike today. Stopped by there on the way back McCall. I have eaten at numerous steakhouse from Chandlers to Ruth's Chris to high end steakhouses in Las Vegas. This was hands down the best steak I have had in years. I had the ribeye. Asked it to be at 125 degrees. It was!!! No joke, this ribeye was so tender, it literally melted in your mouth and really didn't need a knife. The shrimp cocktail was absolutely amazing too. Not sure if they make their own cocktail sauce, but this was perfect!! My husband had to the T-bone steak. Usually t-bones are tough and not tender. This too was cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth. I have no idea what magic they do to make these steaks, but I would love to find out the secret! Oh, and last but not least, the homemade bread and garlic butter was so good I could make that a meal in itself! Paul, you are amazing chef!! Thank you for a spectacular dinner in place not many have heard of..... I will spread the word!!!! And of course I forgot a picture!! But I'll tell you this, I had about 1/4 left. Loved the atmosphere with a lot of locals. We had a couple of drinks (heavy pours) and took a pizza to go. We got a half veggie and half chicken with their special ranch sauce, and it was delicious, not to mention it was a huge pizza! We have eaten at Summervilles weekly for a couple months and the steaks were great. We even took our neighbors there for their anniversary. Last time we went, my ribeye was terrible. A bunch of gristle and I couldn't eat it. The owner came to our table making a scene and lieing, saying this was the third time we had complained and the last time we were getting a free steak. My husband told him that was not true. I spoke to our waitress who has served us many times in the past. She said it was the first time. I have no idea why he would flat out lie. Our friends had ribeye and said theirs wasn't very good either, but mine was absolutely terrible. Not sure if he changed to a different meat company any cheaper meat.
