What a great place! I recently got into house plants and succulents, specifically, so this was definitely the place to go for me. They had social distance guidelines in place, and they had plenty of workers available to assist me with my thousands of questions (as a newbie, it's part of who I am!). Everyone was super helpful! Upon walking in, I was so amazed and immediately inspired by the amount of flowers, and plants that they had available at this nursery. And lots of vase and pot choices too! I spent most of my time in the succulent area where they had a wonderful selection - all sorts of sizes and types, and I came home with sedum aurora borealis type, and then a sunburst aeonium. The sunburst is doing well now, the sedum has since died :( I wonder if it got too much water. I don't know, but that was a bummer. I'll have to try again. Their vase selection is great though and they're cheaper than most other places that I have been. If anything, I would definitely come back here to get more vases for my plants! I also purchased the calathea ornata over here and it's doing pretty well, so I'm happy about that. They have lots of pretty tropical plants inside which are suitable for the indoors, so definitely check it out. They also have a rewards program - nothing super huge, but at least they offer one! This place is so awesome! I've chosen to devote my quarantine time to accomplish some things on my list. One being make an attempt to spruce up the front yard area near my windowsill. It's in a sad state of affairs right now. I found this place on yelp and came with my husband on a Tuesday around 3:15pm. There was a line as this place is doing a good job with practicing social distancing and abiding by safety regulations. My husband and I have zero green thumbs. So we really needed to assistance of that workers here and everyone was extremely warm, kind and knowledgeable. We left with some nice tomatoes and peppers to grow in our backyard, and flowers to grow in our front yard. This was was orderly and being in there just made me excited to plant things! Last time, I've been to summer winds-Cupertino. Today I'm visiting this second location. They have great selections of herbs, veggies and shrubs, perennials and many more. I enjoy the flowers section and herbs. This location doesn't have much indoor houseplant. Everything looks green and healthy. They really take good care of their plants here. I love this nursery. Great selection of plants both indoor and outdoor. I've purchased quite a few from here in the last few years. I don't get any sun, almost all shade on my patio. This nursery has provided me with a really fun variety of shade plants that thrive year round. Most recently, I needed ferns for my wedding. They had 6 perfect medium sized Bostons which was exactly what I needed. Their prices are reasonable. Pro tip: go in the late afternoon on a weekday to avoid the crazy weekend and midday crowds. read more

Beautiful nursery, one of the best I have seen during the past year. I was looking for tomatillo seeds, plus tomato seeds of all kinds (love to go to nurseries and learn about the variety of fruits and veggies and herbs to grow in pots at home, although most of the them I get a couple tomatoes if I am lucky!). In any case, I found all sorts of seeds, the ones that I needed and the ones that I will probably need if I decided to learn more about gardening and if I have more space to plant too. The store is very well organized, the interior plants are so colorful and fresh looking, and the exterior patio is so charming, with that old car with the peace and love sticker, all run down and rusty, perfect background for a cute 'a day at the nursery' picture. Again, all the plants well organized by category and the general ambience was like visiting a garden, not just a place to shop for plants and accessories. read more

Came here to purchase our first Christmas tree. I didn't have time to shop or go to a tree farm; my work schedule, my personal life, and timing it so Tess can be present took a lot out of me. I was just thinking that I should have taken time off during the holidays because the last time off I took was back in July. Almost 6 months ago! Anyway. The tree selections here were limited. The trees were not full and prices were steep or is it because there was a tree shortage this year? I'm giving this place a 4 because of the wonderful service; from the tree to paying for it at the register. Driving on the freeway w/ the tree on top was a bit scary but nevertheless we arrived home w/ the tree safe and sound. Between the kids and I we put the tree on the stand and started setting up the lights and ornaments; we have the Nightmare Before Christmas theme going on. My family and I usually buy our Christmas tree a few days before Christmas so we can decorate it on Christmas Eve. After trying the corner lot and being told a 3-4 ' tree cost $85.00 we headed over to SummerWinds. The staff were wonderful (unlike the lot person) and all of their trees - fresh and beautiful - were $39.99! Covid Editjon: First of all, this place follows Covid guidelines like a business is supposed to! They carefully monitor everyone's in and out, only letting in one person in at a time. They clean all the carts right in front of your face. Even though the line is a bit long (given for an A1 nursery), the staff are extremely polite. Just to give you an idea of how much I love this place, I drove all the way from San Jose just to come to this nursery. Granted it's not that far but I passed by 3 or 4 nurseries just to get here! There is a great variety of plants and everything is well organized. The staff is also extremely knowledgeable! I was looking for a particular succulent and they found it in a jiffy! Will definitely come back here for my nature related needs or even just to take a stress relieving stroll and look at beautiful plants. read more

We'd just moved into our new house. The boxes were unloaded, the furniture was set up. We needed a little color to brighten the place up and we hadn't yet decided on whether we wanted to go with canvas paintings or framed posters for the walls, so we opted to get plants first. SummerWinds is the place we'd been nudged to by word-of-mouth. My mother endorsed them. My aunts (including the family green thumb) all sang their praises. And I'd lived in Campbell for most of my life without ever being inside of this place. So we figured we'd give them a shot. Well, to be TOTALLY honest... we tried Home Depot first. We figured, why pay more? Might as well check out the cheap selection first and see if anything calls to us. But after surveying the inventory at a local Home Depot (87 & Capital... a very robust HD location, by the way), we found mostly outdoor plants, with very little (to no) indoor selection - aside from the usual succulents. Even when we did find a snake plant that could survive in low light, it was much, much smaller and weaker-looking than what we were looking for. So we ended up at SummerWinds and, immediately, felt like kids in a candy store. The selection was fantastic! We ended up purchasing 4 indoor plants - a large burgundy rubber tree, a medium sized corn plant, a gorgeous looking maiden's hair fern, and a good, healthy looking snake plant. We grabbed pots for all of them - including some absolutely GORGEOUS pottery with complementary colors for each plant. We put the dark forest green rubber tree in a light purple and beige colored pot, the vibrant green snake plant went into a ruby red clay pot, the yellow/green corn plant went into a speckled blue pot, and the verdant maiden's hair ended up in a white, Greek looking pot (that almost looked like marble from 5-feet away). Not only was the selection fantastic, but SummerWinds is staffed by some of the nicest, most insightful aggie nerds in all of the South Bay. So when my wife and I (a couple of admitted amateurs) waltzed up to the register with our pots and plants, we were extraordinarily grateful that our checker asked a myriad of follow-up questions, to ensure we were prepared. She upsold my wife on a moister thermometer... which I'm still not convinced we needed, but other than that, she was very helpful. Got us potting soil, plant feeder, and a nice indoor watering can. Plus, my wife ended up purchasing gardening gloves and a small hand shovel (just because). When we get to the next project (our front and back yards), we'll definitely head back to SummerWinds for our fruit trees, shrubbery, and flowers. read more

Someone answered barely coherently. I asked how much it'd be to deliver, he said "No idea". I asked if he could give me a ballpark and he said no, it's all done by computer. Been a customer of Summerwinds for 10 years now and fortunately I found a lady working there by the name of Lee who is so dedicated in helping me get the rose that I was looking for: Yves Piaget. The rose was sold out in this location, however, she went of her way to contact others locations and had it shipped to the Cambell so it was easy for me to pick up. I visited this location for the first time today. I can truly say, I enjoyed the entire visit. This is a very well kept, organized, stocked and beautiful nursery. Also, it's staffed with people who care and rock! So I have this plant that I have somehow kept alive over the last 3 1/2 years. This is going to sound ridiculous, but I've assigned him a name and gender... enter Pedro. The original pot that he came in did not have a drainage hole. I noticed the leaves were recently starting to yellow, so something had to change. I dedicated this weekend to finding him a new pot to be transplanted into. After visiting two other nurseries, I was really surprised at the various pot options SummerWinds had in stock. Before making a decision on a pot, I asked one of the sales associates for some advice. She seemed pretty knowledgeable and happy to help out. After picking out a pot, I was happy to hear that they could repot my plant for me (I brought him with me) for a minimal price. This saved me time, money (I didn't have to buy extra potting soil), and the stress of possibly killing Pedro during the transplant. I'm not a green thumb and this plant has gone through so much already, so it was important this was done right. Thank you, Jen, for assisting me with my plant. I love the new pot and the transplant you did. I didn't catch the name of the lady at the register, but she was very friendly and knowledgeable too. And I noticed the assistant manager, Nick, was the go to for many other customers in the nursery as well. Overall, I got the impression that the staff who works here really care about what they do.
