Sal was the service tech each visit and I couldn't be more pleased. He's polite, kind and very knowledgeable. In addition, he explains everything he works on in detail...and provides cellphone pics to precisely show where any problem or issue exists. This AC company is extremely reliable and been on-time every time...and on Sal's most revisit service appointment, he was even a little early :-) One thing that stood out to me most about their Yelp page (other than 5-Star reviews) and why I'm so compelled to write a recent review is because most people who search for AC/Heating companies here on Yelp, might not find Ibarra's, because their listing states they're in Indio...and Yelp's algorithms will bypass them for numerous other companies in La Quinta, Indian Wells, Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, Cat City, and Palm Springs. And that's simply not the case with Ibarra's...because they service the entire Coachella Valley. I intend to contact them to suggest they change their listing to "servicing the Coachella Valley" and the cities listed above. When I like a business, not only do I like to support them, I'm happy to stand on my soapbox and express my satisfaction with the Yelpsphere. Our most recent work has been the installation of 2 smart thermostats. Our home has 2 A/C units in 2 zones. Guy quickly and expertly installed one Ecobee4 in July 2018 and another Ecobee4 this week (July 2019). We have PSACR out twice a year for Seasonal Maintenance on our split system: testing capacitors, pumps, & charging; to make sure they're all within range. In the next month we will create a new zone for our guest wing and install another smart thermostat to control it. Naturally, the work will be done by Guy at www.psacr.com.

We had an extraordinarily bad experience with this company related to service at our Palm Springs…read morehome. In May 2014, we requested service for two issues. First, a part time seasonal employee was sent out. He incorrectly assessed a problem with one noisy ac unit, concluding, by prolonged phone consultation, that a new unit would be needed. Then he wasted the balance of the day trying to assess why a different ac unit would not cool. He never did get that figured out. So that was one full day down the tubes. The next day, a more experienced person came out, suggested a sensible fix for the first unit (no it did not need to be scrapped), which we accepted. The second unit was then repaired rather expediently. Then the experienced technician inspected the remaining units and claims they were all installed incorrectly in terms of the internal wiring, a claim we did not doubt. The company was paid in full, more than $1,000. The next day, by telephone, we ordered the part for the first unit. After weeks of waiting, nothing happened. We called again, and the reply was that we never had ordered it, which is incorrect. We again tried to order the part, and again nothing happened. Multiple calls were placed to Mr. Uhlhorn, including one in which we requested a written explanation of the findings concerning the wiring. NO call back again. Then we received a letter dated July 9, 2014 concluding "...we have decided that at this time we are unable to service your needs." We followed-up with a letter, requesting only the information concerning the wiring be provided and making no further claims or requests at all. This was ignored, and we have had no contact since. In conclusion, the conduct of this company was unprofessional and inexplicable. It was responsible for wasting a lot of our time, it employs incompetents, and despite being paid, it refused to document the findings reported. Truly this has been one of the most frustrating home repair experiences we have had in fifteen plus years in the desert. Call them at your own peril.

In 2017, my A/C unit stopped working on a Friday afternoon before a holiday weekend. I had a home…read morewarranty, but if you have home warranty insurance, you know how it goes: You call them. You hold for an hour. They take your service fee. You get transferred. You get disconnected. You call back. Wait again for hours for someone to answer the phone. You beg the warranty company to have one of their "licensed contractors" come out quickly because the outside temperature is approaching 118 degrees. You ultimately come to the realization that because of your crappy home warranty, you will probably be out of air conditioning for at least a week or two. You drink. Ultimately, the warranty company agreed to replace my A/C unit but they wanted to charge me an additional $3500.00 out of pocket to cover the new unit "government regulations upgrade". As a last cry for help, I contacted On Call Air. I spoke with Adrian and he could not have been nicer, more professional, or compassionate. He came out, fixed the problem for a few hundred dollars and it has worked perfectly from 2017 until yesterday. As always, my A/C unit began to make unconscionable noises on a Friday afternoon of a holiday weekend. Raphael (one of the owners) answered the phone after the first ring! He looked at the video that I sent him of my A/C and immediately assisted me with shutting off my A/C unit until they arrived. Adrian arrived within two hours to diagnose the issue. He told me that On Call Air does not contract with home warranty companies any more because they are so dishonest! Adrian diagnosed the issue and gave me two options: He could do another inexpensive "quick fix" or install a new unit (both cost options were very, very fair). I decided to go with the new unit installation...and this is the part of my review where a company transitions from awesome to exceptional.... At 4:00 PM, they drove all the way out to Riverside to pick up my new unit. They returned at around 8:00 PM and with limited lighting and while working in the heat, they installed my new unit. The crew worked nonstop, completing the job around 11:00 PM. The crew were so polite, knowledgeable, hard working, efficient, and above fair with their prices. I can see from all of the other 5 star reviews that these guys are completely legit! Highly, highly recommended!!!!!!! Saved by On Call Air twice!
