Unwelcoming First Impression Visited for the first time around 9:15 AM (posted opening is 9:00), and the door I approached was still locked. After waiting a few minutes, someone let me in. When I asked why the door was still locked past opening, the response was rude and dismissive ("these are side doors"), which set a poor tone right away. Inside, I was asked if I needed help, but the interaction felt cold and unwelcoming. I walked around briefly and decided to leave. Just spoke with a lady in the main office and boy was she rude.. My husband purchased a car almost a month ago and he asked me to call and see if his plate was ready yet because the paper plate is expiring next week and he works out of town. I simply called and nicely asked her if a plate for (his name and type of car) was ready.. this lady said well did I call him yet? I said excuse me? She said did I call him yet? In a very snobby way and I said I don't believe so she cut me off and said then it's not ready I have no way of knowing until I get it. The attitude was unnecessary as I didn't call with that energy. Do not trust this dealership. Every single form and any information given to them will be logged incorrectly. I was given the wrong car, had the wrong person listed on the title, and lied to about forms being submitted on time. Every time we shook hands for the end of the deal I received a call three days later saying I needed to come back to fill in just one more form, provide one more bank statement. I picked up a CPO 2025 Kia K4 and when my car was brought back from detailing I noticed the porter and my salesman talking by the driver side rear panel. Apparently, there was some damage there and I was given a pen to try to fix it myself. There is paint on the black portion of the rear panel and there were scuff marks and chips. This was fine at the moment however I cannot buff this out with the pen they gave me. I will be taking this back to the dealership or asking to speak with Tanya Lawand. read more

This dealership is honestly a mess. I've had nothing but issues every time I've dealt with them. They're slow, unprofessional, and they never handle things the right way. Last year I called and the receptionist was rude and hung up on me for no reason. That should've been my sign to never go back. When I got into an accident with my last Kia, it took months for them to approve what they needed to--no urgency, no communication, and no real help. Now with my current car, which is fully under warranty, they want to charge me $180 just to check a seatbelt sensor. Meanwhile, other Kia dealerships don't make you pay that upfront. Make it make sense. They barely answer the phone, and when they finally do call you back, it's right before closing so you can't get anything done. They know exactly what they're doing. I'm over it, and judging by the other reviews, I'm clearly not the only one. Do not buy from here they don't care, and I'm gonna make it known too. I had leased my car from Summit Place three years ago. When I came back to buy my Sportage three years later because my lease was up , I spoke and saw Bryan Carlton there . I was not in the right frame of mind admittedly because I was waiting for my cancer diagnosis. My credit score wasn't as good as it was , so I signed paperwork to buy the car and put a deposit down. Again I saw Bryan there. It was non eventful until Brian texted me two days later to tell me to tell capital one that I had approved an extended car warranty and tire and wheel replacement. I did not know about these add one to my already high interested rate of 19 percent. They asked me to lie to the bank Again , the finance guy never told me about this and yes I should have looked carefully . After calling Kia America , they offered to extend my current lease for 6 months which is what I wanted. When I texted Bryan to tell him this , he said I couldn't extend my lease because summit place bought my car after signing the documents and either I have to continue with my loan or give it back to them ( see text ). After many stressful days of calling consumer affairs and Kia America finance I found out that Bryan and summit place Kia was outright lying to me and playing into my fear of not having a car Kia America still owned the car not Summit Place. I had not taken the loan from capital one yet. Also the add on warranty bs they added could have been taken off without pulling my credit again ( Bryan said if I took off the add ons there was no guarantee I would get the loan again and this too was a lie ) . They offered to cancel those warranties but I'd still have to make the higher monthly payments Yes, they have a large inventory of Kia's. If you have to go there and I mean have to , see anyone eise beside Bryan Carlton and make sure you read your contract thoroughly. These people will do and say anything to get a sale . Scammers . They will use scare and manipulation and lies . When I do buy my Kia in five months after my cancer treatment , I'll go anywhere else. Btw. Please do not call me dear I'm not your dear. I swore to myself I would never do business with Summit Place Kia after a horrible experience I had roughly 10 years ago, but as they are the leading dealership in the country when it comes to Sportage availability I decided to give them another shot. To say I am disappointed would be a massive understatement. My wife and I went in and met with Chris Manns on October 17, 2022 as we were both interested in leasing new cars. I followed up with him via email (and text as well as he stated that was his preferred contact method) the next day requesting more info and to get some pricing on a custom build I was interested in. He responded the next day stating he would generate the numbers and get back to me by the end of the day and it's been radio silence ever since. We are now entering into December and I have followed up with three more emails and three additional texts as well only to be completely ghosted. Unfortunately for you we were no longer willing to wait and opted to go to Fox Volkswagen and worked with Elizabeth Carr over there to purchase new cars this past weekend. I cannot say enough good things about Elizabeth and would highly recommend seeing her if you are in the market for a new vehicle. Heard Summit Place Kia-East radio ad, you know something about "good credit, bad credit...we're the go-to for other finance business", I'm paraphrasing here, but what a claim! Struggling to secure financing due to mangled credit stemming from recent divorce, I complete the simple credit ap, with quick result, "We don't have offer for you at this time." Even submitted additional documents, so they could "submit to their numerous lenders" which garnered no one "reaching out soon" as stated. I wouldn't be searching if for another vehicle, not the most opportune time personally or globally with out-of-control-inflation, used car prices, etc. But when everything starts going bad on your 20-year-old truck and your work commute is 30-miles one-way, 5-6 days weekly, purchase of a reliable vehicle is imperative. Summit Kia is deceptive and deliberately misleading customers with bloated claims of credit assistance for those who have credit scores much lower than their necessity for transportation. I really do enjoy the service here, I feel welcomed, and I don't feel like I'm being sold on things I don't need. The employee here is very nice and friendly. My sister has gone to the Southfield location before and they're not as welcoming or friendly. I would highly recommend coming here. Came for an oil change and tire rotation. I drove almost an hour. The salesman had my credit score from months before. He re-ran my credit... which I understand why. He asked if I wanted to test drive the car and so I did. He had me pick out the color that I wanted. Then hits my credit 4 times because he sent me over to multiple banks. My credit score tanked. I should have read the reviews before I purchased a vehicle from this dealership. The vehicle (Telluride) is great but their service department is awful. I've been waiting for a center console replacement but no one has ever called me to say it was in. The first time I tried to get it replaced, the service person said he called (he never did) to say it was in but when I didn't call back, he sent the part back. The second time, I called and they said the part was in but the person handling this was out sick so he would call me back. That was three weeks ago And I still haven't received a call. I am also having and issue with voice recognition and the service department told me to go to the Kia website and download some software. Shouldn't they do that? If I could give negative stars, I would. Where to start? I went to sell my car back to them-I had financed a car for my fiancée when we were together. (Stupid, probably, but I did it anyway) I figured my best bet was to take the car back to where I originally purchased it. Boy, was that a mistake. First off, they offered me a ridiculously low price compared to what every other Kia dealership in the area had offered me. Then, their salesman, Erik Carlton had the audacity to send me this text message... I attached the photo below. "Regardless of what you want to do, YOU made the pour choice when you bought that vehicle for your gf"...Poor* choice, yes, but it is not his place to say that to me. I have friends and family for that. I reported him to the management team, but nothing happened. He actually had the nerve to email me AFTER I specifically asked the supervisor to ask him to never contact me again. This place is a joke. Their employees and rude and unprofessional. Avoid going here at ALL COSTS. They will rip you off and then treat you like crap. The employee should have been fired, but instead they are taking my complaint as a joke. If I could give a lower rating I would. I took my vehicle in to have my engine shield replaced. I picked my car up after hours and didn't inspect my vehicle before leaving, the next day I noticed damage to my passenger side. I took the car back in and showed the service director the damage, he denied they caused the damage. I asked to look at the lifts that they put the vehicles on and once I saw it the grooves in the lift match perfectly to the freshly missing paint from my vehicle. The service director again denied they caused the damage and was very rude and insisted I ran over something. Now I have $3500 worth of damage to my vehicle because of them. My husband and I went to this location to test drive a car. We were told it would be just a minute while they brought the car around to the front for us. A few minutes pass and then we are told the sales manager has a few items in the car that have to be removed so it will be about 5 minutes more. TWENTY minutes after this my husband goes into the managers office to find him and the salesman sitting around just talking. When he asks again about the car they both go out to remove the stuff. The car was already parked out in front and the manager starts pulling loads of stuff out including a full size practice hunting deer!! At this point we are annoyed with the total lack of respect for our time and have no interest in buying a car that your manager treats as his own and clearly has no interest in selling. We were 100% ready to buy a 2022 Kia Soul today. We had started a new policy with our insurance, gotten approval for the financing, the whole 9 yards. I was there with my wife and my six year old son towards the end of the day, ready to finalize the sale and get a new reliable vehicle for my family. We were in great moods and even had zero problem with not being able to do both the low APR we wanted (our credit is ranked "Excellent") and also use our company discount. We just wanted to understand "why" we couldn't use both and my dad always instilled in me that if you don't ask for something you won't get it. Both my wife and I had actually commented--while the sales person went to get his manager to explain the situation--that the price was fair and we were excited to get a new car. The manager walked up in a hurry saying "What can I help you with!?" I was caught off guard by his tone, but I responded by calmly asking if his sales associate had filled him in on what we had He said "No, I just heard that you have a problem with the price being too high.." We explained that actually we were just asking about whether we could apply our discount, and if not, why not. This seems like a reasonable question, right? His tone, honestly, was 10/10 on the disrespectful meter and acted like we were criminals, instead of customers ready to drop 20 grand+ on a new vehicle. I was taken aback and expected his tone to change when he figured out that we weren't whatever he was imagining we were in his mind, but he just kept ramping up the antagonism. He told my wife who asked about using her company's pin for the discount "Ive dealt with 30 times going back and forth on this thing and this is what the number is next to your name (said her name) and now I am happy to charge you 1000 more if that's what you want." That's when I explained that we have no idea why he was talking to us so confrontationally. He huffed and said we can take it or leave it.. so obviously we left. I was speechless and my wife was totally bummed out. That guy must have either been drunk or having the worst day of his life and felt the need to lash out. Either way I feel bad for him. DO NOT GO HERE! They are so sketchy! I went in because I liked the Sportage and wanted to lease. A weaselly little guy named Michael L. assisted us and lied the entire time. Told me my credit score was too low to lease so I would HAVE to buy and the only Sportage they had available was the most expensive, decked out version (which we knew wasn't true bc we had checked the inventory online before we went and then walked around the lot to see them before we went into the building). When my husband and I said sorry we are only interested in leasing he was magically able to make it work...for an insane amount of payment. He pulled out all stops to try to get me to take this car...even offering it to us for the night with no paper signing! We said we needed to think about it and would call in the morning. Ended up reaching out to a family Ford dealer the next day who said A. My credit was great and could offer me a lease for 0% interest, B. the amount Kia had said I needed to pay wasn't even close to accurate math, and C. it was illegal for them to cook numbers like that. The little Kia guy did a company text thing to me the next day and when I informed him we were not interested bc he had been dishonest he tried to argue that my husband and I didn't see the cars on the lot that we physically looked at and tried to argue with me ("if you can prove me wrong..."). Do not go here. They cook numbers and falsify credit scores to scam people into paying more. Wish I could give zero stars. read more

I would highly recommend purchasing a Kia. However, the Auburn Hills location is horrible and SCAM artist. They will run your credit multiple times, causing hard hits that will seriously hurt your credit score. As for maintenance, be careful! This place has ZERO integrity. I took my car for an oil change (maintenance light comes on) and tire rotation (tires pressure was never checked). Although this seems minor, when you drop your vehicle off for maintenance, you expect the services rendered. Love the car, but I will NEVER do business with the again! read more
