I recently had the pleasure of reaching out to Simpson Plumbing in Vancouver. I had kind of an odd request when I reached out to them for an estimate to replace a water heater. I had just had a full plumbing inspection from another company and knew exactly what was needed, but I felt the price the other company was quoting seemed a little high. So I decided to reach out to 5 other companies (Simpson being one of those). I knew I did not want to make 5 more appts for plumbers to come out and spend 30 minutes to 1 hour+ assessing the water heater. I just wanted a general idea of what these companies charge to replace our water heater and I would do an actual in-home visit when I chose one to move forward with. I did send pictures of our current set up and our current water heater brand, model, BTUs, home usage info, etc, so it wasn't a completely blind estimate request. Simpson's price was pretty much in line with the others, but overall lower than the majority and they beat the original company's estimate even if I added in signing up for Simpson's annual membership plan. But where I really felt Simpson Plumbing shined was in my interactions with Denise and Adam. Denise especially, as she was the person that answered my initial request and remained my main contact for my interactions with Simpson Plumbing. She was super nice and accommodating. Adam was the person that wrote up the estimate and it was probably the most detailed one that I received. I had a few others that just mentioned "Basic Water Heater Install"...no model number, no mention of whether the expansion tank was included, etc. Even though I did choose another company for this particular job, I can say I would not hesitate to hire Simpson Plumbing in the future. I have even added them to my contact list already. We all know plumbing issues come up with home ownership so it is good to know which companies stand out, especially where Customer Service is concerned. read more

Incompetent on nearly every level. I hired Simpson Plumbing to re-pipe the water lines in my house. They ended up drilling two 3" holes in a load bearing beam (leaving 1-2" of actual beam to support a second floor and roof!!!) to run two 1/2" water lines through. The journeymen plumber supervising failed to mention this. He either didn't inspect the work his crew had done, or he saw the mistake and failed to mention it. I will give them credit for quickly acknowledging their mistake. That's where the quickness ends however. I had to constantly call and harass them for ANY updates on repairing the beam. After nearly six months it was finally finished. For context, I was able to get a similar project (removal of a load bearing wall) engineered and permitted in about two months. If you want Homer Simpson to do your plumbing then these are your guys! read more

Owning a house has been a challenge for many reasons, especially around knowing who you can trust to help you out and not only take your money. Simpson Plumbing proved to us that they exactly that kind of company. We had Simpson come in after we had a repiping company give us the hard sale on a a complete repipe, which we will need at some point. Simpson came in and did a complete inspection on the plumbing for our house and based on the current situation, recommended a workaround that will help us for many years to come. The repipe would have cost us $16K, but the workaround (installing a Moen Flo to help watch water usage and alert us on leaks) for less than $1,600. Not being interested in making tons of money but instead looking out for your customers made them #1 in my list. The team came onsite to do the work and did an excellent job. They were done fast and clean and even answered other questions. Overall, they did an excellent job and I can't recommend them enough. If you need help, call Simpson plumbing. Absolutely wonderful service. We had a sudden bib hose leak that soaked an interior room (wall, floor, etc.). After reading the reviews I called Simpson Plumbing. The customer service representative was very courteous and professional, and got us on the schedule for same day service. I called around 9 or 9:30, and they called back in less than half and hour and said they'd have a plumber out between 12 and 4 PM. At 11:45, Alex called and said he could be here between 12 and 12:15 PM. Amazing turn around time, AND Alex showed up when he said he would. He evaluated the issue, took pictures for the insurance, gave us a detailed estimate and explained it in lay terms. No hidden "gotchas"; everything was straightforward and aboveboard. He completed everything within an hour and a half, and showed us what caused the leak (huge leak), left the part with us, and took pictures of the entire process for insurance purposes. Alex was very professional, friendly, and efficient. Alex also provided the name of a water restoration company. I asked him what he liked about the company and he was open with his response. While he completed the work I researched his recommendation, and liked what I found. Before he left, Alex entered a referral to the restoration company, and also entered a referral for some electrical work we had mentioned. We had a water leak close to the water meter. The scheduling was easy and convenient. Unfortunately, the plumber who arrived clearly struggled to identify and propose a solution for our leak. He told us that he needs to go to Home Depot to buy two different parts, but he was not sure which part he would need ( he was planning to charge us for both parts). He gave us an estimate of $525. He claimed that the justification for this high price is difficult access and complicated job. The leak was in the meter box, clearly visible with excellent access. At this point, we decided to get the second opinion. We paid a fee of $75 and we decided not to go with their service. We had a different company come and repair the leak. The job was done in 20 minutes. They had all the necessary tools and parts. It turned out to be an easy fix and the price was $275. read more

I just used Simpson Plumbing to install a pressure line connecting my well to my new whole house well filters and a line back to the line servicing the house. It was challenging. So much sediment had built up in the copper pipes over the years of not having a filter that when we charged the system and ran the cold water we had blockage going to the kitchen. They unblocked it but the blockage returned when the system was turned back on. The second block happened just after they left after 5 hours. The sediment also caused a leak in the vinyl hose leading to the water in the fridge. When I received a follow up call the next morning I told her what had happened and they sent Kenny and Matt out in just a few hours. They spent another 4+ hours running a new dedicated line to the kitchen and replaced the line to the fridge. Kenny gave me a very fair initial bid. The sediment issues were not their fault but I still had to ask Kenny if I could pay him more. Bottom line is Simpson Plumbing will definitely be my first call with ANY plumbing problems. read more

The plumber gave a fair estimate, didn't try to upsell me on unneeded work, and did exactly what was needed in a timely manner. Hot water line in our concession stand burst from the cold. We were able to quickly shut the water line off so it was not an emergency, just urgent. Simpson responded quickly, was analytical in discovering where in the ceiling the leak was, they made a minimal hole in the drywall to access and repair, and did the work quickly. Just wanted to write a review to highlight the great work Simpson did for me. My home in Camas unfortunately had a leak between the street main and house main. Losing lots of water each month and bill skyrocketed. Called Simpson. First, the woman taking the initial request was great. Forgot her name, but friendly and very professional. Trent came out and did the assessment and estimate. He confirmed the problem as I did. Scheduled horizontal drilling under front yard and into basement main. Today, Kenny and coworker Jeff along with the drilling contractor Steve came out promptly as scheduled. They efficiently drilled the hole, repiped the line and resolved the issue. The job was on a fixed cost basis. Price was fair as uncertainties were unknown. Would recommend Simpson 110%. Special thanks to Kenny and Steve for great work! read more

The company came the next day to fix a problem with our water main (between house and water meter) They ended up replacing the whole line. They left our lawn in perfect shape, even though the had to dig a hole. the workers were courteous, professional and very nice.They had the problem fixed in under three hours. While doing a remodel I ran into a plumbing issue and called around trying to find a plumbing company on short notice. I ended up calling Simpson Plumbing and they were the only ones who could get me in on short notice. They sent Kenny Heflin out who patiently worked through a difficult issue and got our kitchen water back up and running. My kitchen sink clogged Saturday night. I asked my neighbors who they recommended and it was a resounding Simpson's Plumbing. And I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. I booked my appointment on line for an email confirmation and text. The day before the appointment they called and were able to get us in early (great). They gave me a two hour appointment window. Kent called nearly on the dot to the time and confirmed he was on his way. And then!! It sent me a text so I could track him and a picture of what he looked like. I love that feature. For me I try and get my dogs out of the house before repair people come over. This allowed me to have them in the garage and help Kent find the house. Personally for me I felt a sense of security, because I already knew what Kent looked like. When he came in the house we discussed price. It's no bullshit they charge for the job not the labor. I appreciate that. Just a flat rate agreed upon up front. He got to work. All in all it took him maybe 15min. Great job! If I need a plumber again. I know who I am calling. read more

He was on time the first visit and early the second (having to do two trips was not his fault, by the way!) This started out to be a great experience, I said the clog is probably right there by the shed. My mom has had it fixed there before. Then once they left I have dirty floors, bag of shit in my carport, big hole not filed in. Telling me to let it dry out, fill with gravel not dirt. It's raining, and winter ... what's the odds it will dry out anytime soon. Charged me 547.00 for a pipe of maybe three feet long and two brackets to hook it on. Outrageous!! Won't call them again. Tried to stay local, shouldn't have!!! 1046.68 dollars later I feel my toilet and shower work but got handed a mess!!! Now I can't enter my shed because there's a huge hole. read more

I discovered our STEP system wasn't working properly and the tank was quickly filling with large amounts of waste. I contacted Simpson Plumbing and they were out the next day first thing in the morning. Kenny was personable and kept us up to date on what he was finding. This ended up being an all day job for him. These guys are expensive. They charged my parents $300 to install a basic kitchen faucet - about an hour of work. Granted, my parents did not ask for a quote before starting (I lectured them), but come on, $300? The faucet itself was only $248. The worker was nice and did a good job, but way too pricey. read more

Needed a new laundry faucet installed. Plumber left the apprentice here to put in a new faucet which took hours and then was charged over $400.00 for a faucet install! And I had already purchased the faucet. He Spent a lot of time on the phone with his better half. Also, charged 75.00 dollars to look and see if washing machine hose had a screen on it. Won't use them again at those prices and it was annoying how long he was here. read more

If I could rate it lower, I would. We recently had our kitchen remodeled. Our Contractor subbed the plumbing work to Simpson Plumbing. They came in did their part of work and left. Kitchen was completed. During this period of time and for a couple months after the remodel the weather was good..mostly sun. We did have a shower or two...One evening I noticed a leak in my basement (bedroom). Watched very closely, did not notice the leak again (until it rained) I noticed some discolored area's on my ceiling, pushed on it...caved in (sheet rock was wet) Had mold all over the wall, insulation was wet. Called the contractor, who called the Plumber. Plumber came out..."was not our fault...we did nothing wrong" well we googled mold and found it actually grows pretty quickly. In any case, our contractor tore everything apart (which included removing cabinets in the kitchen) and in the process found the issue. Vent on roof, comes down to sink...there is a point where it comes to a T and the 2 ends were clamped together (were supposed to be) there was a hose clamp on one side...BUT was not tight other side, no hose clamp. They also ran a water line from the source to my refrigerator and just laid it in the floor, did not secure it to anything. In my opinion, and the opinion of my contractors employee's the plumbing was half ass at best. I would NOT recommend hiring this Plumber, as the work is sub par, and then when called on it "it's not our fault". NOT eligible for rehire !! read more

Unfair and Deceptive Billing: Simpson Plumbing came to my home for 75 minutes last week. They fixed a leaky sprayer hose in my kitchen sink, tightened the hot water handle in the shower and adjusted the orientation of the sink handles in the kitchen. They provided NO PARTS and charged $250 for the 75 minute visit! They charge $60 to "evaluate" what needs to be done, but refuse to remove the charge when they do the work! EVERY other contractor I've ever had do work removes the "evaluation / diagnosis" fee when you hire them. To make matters worse, I called their office to explain my shock. They refused to remove the charge and stated that I had been informed when booking the appointment...which was 100% not true. Seriously, look for somebody else. read more

DO NOT USE SIMPSON PLUMBING LLC!!!!! Like others, I would give "no stars", or "negative stars", if I could. These guys are wildly overpriced and will rip you off if you let them. They say that can't give ballpark estimates over the phone, but rather they need to send someone out (for $70) to "evaluate". Long story short, we had three simple jobs--two running toilets and a kitchen sink faucet that needed to be replaced--and we even had the replacement faucet! The cost--to install a $5 flapper in one toilet (which is still leaking by the way)--$68. To install a new ($10-$15) flush valve and ($5) flapper in another toilet--$146. To install the kitchen sink faucet that WE provided--$383. The whole job, which took two hours to complete, ended up costing us $722.97!! What the?!?!? If you consider the $20-$25 of parts that Simpson supplied, that works out to be about $350/hour for labor. Welcome to........Camas?!?! Brad Simpson won't return our calls and when we emailed him about it his response was "that's our price". He couldn't give us an estimate over the phone, but when the plumber arrived, he immediately flipped open the fixed price book to "replace kitchen faucet when customer supplies faucet" and said "that'll be $383". And WHY couldn't we be told that over the phone BEFORE we were into Simpson for a $70 site visit?!?!? Oh yeah--because then they wouldn't be able to make as much money as they do. I repeat--DO NOT USE SIMPSON PLUMBING LLC!!! (unless you've got money to throw away!). read more

I hate to write a bad review, better to let things go and just move on, but I really do not want someone else treated as bad as we were. We had a leaky steam shower, one of the guys came over and was just lost how to fix it, he said he would contact the company that made the shower and we never heard back from him again. We called, left messages with a nice girl in the office on a weekly basis and still nothing. They should have just said this repair was above their heads, instead the just left us hanging. So a month later I started looking up another plumber to call, but my wife wanted an answer why no one ever called back, so we got a manager who wanted to defend his company so he came over, made a horrible temporary repair and charged us almost $300 dollars, I said one of the parts did not look like a quality part, he said that was all he had on the truck, and IT BROKE 4 DAYS LATER. All of this was after we had talked about a possible $20,000 bathroom remodel. Not good plumbers and worst business people. read more
