I've been buying from Summit Racing since 2003 when I built my first Cobra replica. A fantastic source of parts. Great customer service.

So, I'm really glad DX Engineering (the sister company of Summit that is a ham radio supplier) started stocking stuff at the Sparks warehouse. However, after my visit today, my enthusiasm has really cooled. I placed an order for curbside and was notified that it was ready for pickup. So, I drive to Summit, and call the number on the wall to pick up my item knowing that it was already picked... well, they put me on hold for 5 minutes (even though I was the only car in curbside)... not a good sign. The lady came back on, and told me someone would be out with my product. Well, 10 mins later... no one came. Called back. They had no idea how long it would take to pick my order. Another 10 mins, called the main DX Engineering store in Tallmadge, OH (the one at Summit Racing Headquarters) and asked them what was going on in Sparks. They had no idea. Called the Sparks store back, and was then informed they had 14 orders to pull... kinda odd that I was the only one there. Finally showed up after about 30 minutes. I got a call back from James a short time later and he basically said DX and Summit's websites lie about products being ready for pickup. They don't actually pick it from the warehouse until you arrive. He blamed the IT department, which is ludicrous. The plain-text meaning of "ready for pickup" is that it's picked and ready to go. Their curbside isn't going to last long with stunts like this. read more

4 Stars for Summit racing. I have used them for decades. Always wonder service and they stand behind their products when it comes to returns and warranty. Only gave 4 stars because the last intake manifold I bought for my LS didn't fit. I asked for a manifold to fit a LM7 truck engine and they gave me a low rise car manifold. I was recording a YouTube video (@brett media) so when it didn't fit it was a fail on my video. I was bummed. No biggie I could have returned it but just threw it on the shelf for the next built. read more

If you order online for in store pickup and pay for the items why do you have to stop at the cashier to click a button and then still have to wait there for them to pull it? The item is paid for. clearly we are coming to get it. Would it not make more sense to pull the orders so people can come in and pick it up. My car was smoking pretty badly because It needed a oil catch can when I went there they had a lot to choose from. I mean a lot of choices and the prices are reasonable and pretty affordable. They also have oil and oil additives a lot to choose from as well if your doing a oil change your self I would recommend you go here because you will find everything you need. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful it's a little tricky to get some parts because you have to go to information disk to ask for the part then go to cashier to pay for it then go to pick up to pick up your part but I'm pretty sure anyone can figure it out. wait times are good way better then autozone. I am genuinely horrified by my experience with Summit. While the Summit website displayed a picture of a part I purchased along with the correct GM part number, they shipped a different part. Unfortunately, because Summit does not have stock of the actual item that I ordered, I have been asked to pay the return shipping or drive 60-minutes to a retail location to return the item - while paying a restock fee and not being reimbursed for over $150 in shipping costs. If you are shopping on Summit and come across this review, please heed my warning: THESE GUYS ARE DISHONEST CROOKS. Fortunately, I disputed the charges through my bank and Summit will be forced to return the amount paid. read more

I've been shopping here off and on over the last 10 yrs or so. I was pleasantly surprised to find out I could get two air filters for my BMW K1200S from these guys for the price of one at the BMW shop. The spark plugs are $10/ea cheaper here and they even went above and beyond and found the same plug but made by autolite and they are only $7ea. It's been a huge savings by going here instead of the dealership. read more

My radiator blew, not a big issue. My husband can replace this. We came in Friday night and bought what we needed. After we paid, I asked if they offered a Veteran's discount. Some places do, and some don't but an extra few in savings is always nice. We talked to a manager, showed him my husband's Veterans Affairs card and he said that he couldn't give us a discount, since we already paid, but would give us a few more Summit Bucks to our account in place of the discount. We came back two days later for some additional items. When at the cashier I asked for the Veterans discount and showed him the same VA card we presented on Friday. He went to find a manager, and instead the other cashier at the station looked at the VA card and said they only offer discount to," active military, disabled veterans and active duty retirees." Truthfully, I think she was just making up an excuse, so they wouldn't have to find a manager. This kind of in consistency from a store with their customer service isn't something that should happen. You either have a Veterans discount, or you don't. Either way, just stick by whatever policy you choose. read more

I've never deal with such a horrendously bad company. 7 emails,8 days and about nine hours on the telephone (mostly on hold), The only thing my company's achieved is to be double billed $900.00 (According to the last customer service agent's numbers) . And have our original $5000.00 order canceled because they said that I cancelled it!(What?)... We originally wanted to spend about $25,000 on auto air conditioning systems with them. My ordering department forewarned me this was a ridiculously bad company to attempt to deal with but...they are one of the few places in united states that has an ample supply of Auto air conditioners. Thus my journey began. BTW...I'm on hold as I'm making this review. I've been on hold a total of 2 hours this morning...SO FAR! There is no accountability for their so called customer "Dis service" reps.They just don't bothered to do their jobs. With no repercussions what so ever. At this point we are stuck. Customers that have been promised their car would have air conditioning wont...We cant at this point throw up our hands because we are still going to be short 900.00 "AND"...we look like our idiots and liars in our customer's eyes. I clearly ordered rear tires for my Can-Am. When I ordered it stated will ship tomorrow. Two days later I received an email and said unit are out of stock and they don't know when they will ship. I placed an order and paid with PayPal. Somehow, PayPal inserted an old mailing address. I noticed this immediately when the order was placed and notified Summit Racing. The Company has all the order information and Order Number, payment details, address etc. etc. I made a simple request to have the mailing addressed updated. Summit Racing point blank refused with one flakey excuse after another. This was a small order. It is a far cry from helpful Customer Service. They gladly fixed their mistakes and some of mine. It was a pretty easy process. They made a note and basically made sure I got the correct parts and were very helpful. I always thought Summit was for racers and hot rod builders (maybe it's because of the name), but I have bought several regular vehicle parts from them over the years and I have to say they have had the best prices on a variety of things. I always check them out now before I buy from the other local parts houses because of that. Some prices have even been better than Rock Auto! Most recently a Corolla brake rotor and pad kit. I was very surprised. They have a great Veteran's discount as well. Maybe it's because I live local and can pick up my parts at the warehouse, but it just seems that when I need something they have the best price. I'm generally not in a hurry for the part so if they don't have it on the shelf I can wait 'til it comes in. You get free shipping that way too. The store folks are always friendly and courteous and the 800 number help desk people are always responsive. I ordered the wrong part the other day and had to call to modify the order. They did it right then on the phone. Great service. I've also had to return parts too and that was no hassle at all. My experience over the years has been nothing but positive. Horrible service! First time my boyfriend & I came here so we didn't really know how it worked . Finally went to order the parts he needed and got ignored for atleast 2 minutes when clearly the worker wasn't doing anything. After when we went to go pick up the parts a women came up to us to help us and clearly said "it will be ready in about 20 minutes maybe 10 but we'll call you when it's ready for pickup" almost 40 minutes passed and nothing .. went back in and told them we had been waiting for awhile and they immediately said "well why didn't you come in sooner" that's when my boyfriend said they would give a call back and the guy right away said "I never said that" when we weren't even blaming him. I bought replacement stock rocker arms and pivots for my 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass 350. After installing I had a lot of valve train noise. The girl from Summit Racing said that I should check the pushrod length. Oldsmobile rocker arms are non adjustable just tighten down. How could my pushrods change? So they don't charge you to ship tires to you BUT GOD forbid you made a mistake in the size and return them un mounted they will charge you $25 x 2 AND charge you tax on it. Was in a jam on a Sunday. Local parts stores didn't have what I needed. They directed me to Summit. So glad they did. This location reminds me of Kaiser hospital. Th y have stations to process/help you. First one: staff helps look up part you need. Find it, say you need it, they send quote to cashier and to the warehouse to pull part. Second: cashiers. Staff was great here too. Paid for part. Directed to third area. Was told to look at tv and wait for your name to appear. Third: look at tv, shows your name and if part is ready for pick up. Once ready, wait for next member to help you. You're done. Just wished I had time to actually look around. Was in a hurry to repair a car. Next chance I will take my time looking. read more
