Sooooo I headed into AutoZone to see if they lived up to the ratings hype. I see where they score points. Service is prompt and knowledgeable. They double checked to make sure the application was correct so I left with what I asked for. For extra style points they even suggested the sealant and fluids that I would need to complete the repair. The store was clean (for a parts store) and easy to shop.

I went into the AutoZone at 10560 N McCarran Blvd, Store #4039, specifically looking for Autolite XP5224 spark plugs. The evening before, I had been at my local AutoZone and an employee checked inventory for me. Their system showed that the North McCarran location had 8 of these spark plugs in stock. I even took a picture of the screen showing 8 in stock at Store #4039. When I came into the North McCarran store the next morning, the employee who greeted me checked his computer and told me they had zero. I specifically questioned how the store could have gone from 8 in stock the night before to zero that morning. His response was simply, "Yeah, they go fast." I explained that I had personally seen the inventory at another AutoZone and politely asked him to please walk to the back and physically check because the computer inventory could be wrong. He refused to even look. I asked him again, "So you're actually not going to walk back and see if you have them because your computer says you don't?" He still wouldn't check. So I left the store, went onto AutoZone's own website, selected the SAME 10560 N McCarran location, and was able to order the exact XP5224 spark plugs he had just told me they didn't have. Less than TWO HOURS after this interaction, I ended up purchasing all FOUR spark plugs I needed from that exact same store. When I returned to pick them up, I was helped by Johnny, who provided excellent customer service. What is especially important to me is that I never told Johnny anything about the experience I'd had earlier that morning. He wasn't being extra helpful because he knew I was upset or because I had complained. He simply gave me great customer service from the beginning, which I genuinely appreciated and think deserves to be recognized. I have documentation showing AutoZone's inventory system listed 8 in stock at Store #4039, as well as screenshots of my online order from that location. I don't know whether I was dismissed during my first visit because I'm a woman asking for automotive parts or whether that employee simply couldn't be bothered to help me. What I do know is that I politely asked him more than once to physically check, he refused, and less than two hours later his store sold me FOUR of the exact spark plugs he told me they didn't have. Johnny demonstrated exactly what good customer service should look like, without knowing anything about what had happened earlier. If a customer can be told a part is out of stock, ask an employee to physically check and be refused, then walk out, order that same part from the same store and come back and buy FOUR of them less than two hours later, the problem wasn't the inventory. It was the customer service -- and thankfully, Johnny showed me that the first employee's attitude does not represent everyone working at this location.

We purchased a battery less than six months ago from Napa in Lake County CA. My reno dealership did a diagnostic and told me it was bad. So having my invoice, battery in the car (with a 3 year warranty) I go to this store looking for help. I wanted them to test the battery and if necessary to replace it. I was told I would need to remove the battery and bring it into the store, let them test it and then I would need to take it out of the store and replace it into my car. Other auto part stores I've worked with will test the battery while still in the car. My HUGE disappointment is that the staff didn't seem to care enough to find a solution to help me out. I am saddened that their lack of care or compassion for a fellow human and the "policy" of the store takes precedent.
