The alternator I purchased from O'Reilly's on Prater failed for the 3rd time since last November. O'Reillys was on the hook to pay for the labor to replace it, AGAIN, but once you factor in the cost of towing, rental car, time away from work... I'm still guaranteed a loss... end of story. Horrible service, rude and lazy staff, more wasted time dealing with these people than remotely necessary. Call in an order or make it online, show up at the store, nothing. The old guy started arguing with me that the radiator hose they sold me was the right one and that I should just keep it and try it again. Couldn't believe it. I told it's not even close in size, and I need a much larger diameter hose, even gave him the part number that I had previously called in that day and they said they'd set it aside for me (nothing there). He continued to argue with me until I said Look can you just go get me the part I came in for??? The lazy bum didn't want to do the return! Lol. I also had a gallon of coolant to return with the incorrect and unused hose. He opens it and spends at least two minutes inspecting the seal with a little crybaby scowl on his face. Petty! Like I emptied the $10 coolant and spent the time to glue the foil back on lmao. Incredible. SOOO lazy. Will not be back to that filthy store. read more

Yesterday I placed an online order for a part at this location with the understanding that I would receive an email letting me know that my part was ready for pic up, 7 hours after I ordered the part I still had no email. Since this location is on my way home I decided to stop in and see if it was ready. The employee that helped me could not find my order on his computer I offered to give him the order number and he said no. Then I guess I must look like an idiot cuz he asked me if I was sure I ordered at this location. I was holding my phone with my order confirmation and the store address in my hand so yes I am positive. He finally finds it with someone else's name on the box. Now what really pissed me of is I ask him where the fuses are and he tells me so I go to grab a box. The phone rings while I'm doing that and even with 4 other employees standing there he decides he has to answer the phone. I need to pay for my stuff and he is holding it in his hand!!! So I'm being held hostage by this guy. He could have easily let someone else answer the phone or handed my stuff to another employee but no he just kept it in his hand and talked on the phone!!!!! I looked at him told him he was rude and walked out. I will go out of my way to go to Autozone or Pep Boys from now on read more

Went to O Reilys auto today on corner of Rock and Prater. 2 employees and only 1 customer at around 8 a m. Was going up and down the aisles many times not finding what I need. Finally one of the employees, asked me what I was looking for. I told the man I was looking for an emergency window breaking and seat belt cutting tool. He replied he had never heard of one. I looked at him like he was nuts and said it is a common auto part tool. He took me to the specialty tool section saying it must be a specialty item. Unable to find it I said to him I was headed to Pep Boys and was not happy because it was much farther down the road. As I am approaching Pep Boys near the Iron Horse shopping center still on Prater I see another O Reilys. I enter OReilys and find a charming young man ready to serve. I tell him what I am looking for an he immediately walks me right to it. I tell him about the other store and he looks at the other stores inventory on line and says they should have 2 of those very tools in stock. I end up spending 37 dollars on various items at the store. I am on my way home now. The first O Reileys is up on the left. I pull in and walk into the store with the emergency window breaking tool in hand. I find the man that claimed to not know what the tool was and showed it to him. I also told him that there should be 2 in stock at that I spent close to 40 dollars at the other O Reileys. Said just thought you should know, and left with my tool. read more

I went in this evening to make a purchase. They were busy at the counter and the line was not organized but the counter clerks were making a point of asking for the next customer. So I didn't sweat holding the two gallons of anti freeze for 15 minutes. One of the guys asked "who's next?" To which I stated while looking at the new line that started "he is and then it's me". About 3 minutes later this old guy Burt looks at the newly formed line and motions over to a pretty young lady who had just walked in to come on over. I walked up and said "Excuse me but I was next". At that the old man loudly exclaims "WELL THAT WAS RUDE OF YOU!" I said no it's not , I've been waiting a long time but it is very rude of you to speak with me in that manner and tone and I do not appreciate it". His professional response was "SCREW THIS I DON'T NEED THIS CRAP, I'M OUTTA HERE, I SHOULD HAVE LEFT A WHILE AGO, I'M GOING HOME!" Throwing his arms up in disgust and walks off. The next guy Frank P. said "I'll help you get out of here since you're in such a big hurry". I asked him for the name and number of the General Manager. He said I was speaking with him. I explained that I didn't appreciate being spoken to like that. He immediately said it wasn't Burt's fault because Burt asked for whomever was next. That didn't happen and I told him so. He argued that he heard him ask and then pointed out that he wasn't going to argue with a customer but he heard him say that (which seemed pretty argumentative to me). Not sure if Frank is actually the GM nor do I care because I have the opportunity to spend my hard earned money where Customer Service and Satisfaction is more than just a statement on the doors and windows. It's a reflection in the manner in which they appreciate you supporting their business. Not only will I not return to that store. I'm done with all of the O'Reilly's Auto Parts as are my two roommates after sharing what happened. This is obviously a store that believes the community will support you regardless of how poorly they treat you. read more
