Love that they had a cat waiting room as well. The exam room was nicely decorated with comfortable chairs for the owners. Dr. Olsen came into the room and sat on the floor while my cat hid. She chatted with me and my cat slowly came out to meet her. She was through and explained things well. I was concerned about expenses and was brought an itemized estimate. After the ultrasound and blood work my cat was quickly returned and appeared happy and content. We will be back for sure!

We were using another larger vet clinic previously and I felt like it had become more of a mill. Never being able to maintain care with any single vet and it was difficult to get appointments. Fast forward to our first appointment with Dr. Olsen. She just such a bubbly and caring doctor. She's confident, great at explaining everything and obviously an animal lover. We've had three appointments for puppy wellness and it's been the same level of care and personalized treatment each time. The techs and receptionists are very kind and upbeat as well. The office is conveniently located, bright and welcoming. I've never had a pet who's liked going to the vet, but our corgi runs right in and enjoys charming them every time, even after three visits with vaccinations. I only have praise for these folks. Highly recommend. Plenty of parking available. Easy freeway access.

When you have pets. Stuff happens. We have a great local Vet in Oakland, but when my sweet cattle…read moredog boy Dingo started projectile vomiting and had scary bloody diarrhea we needed urgent help. We called our regular vet, and with it being a Friday afternoon they had no available appointments. Totally understandable, we were referred to an emergency clinic in Berkeley. The traffic in that direction to berkley was terrible, and by this point my poor dog is shaking and pooping blood. My coworker from Pacifica, overheard my panic as I was on the phone at work with my husband who was with our sick dog frantically trying to find an emergency clinic, suggested VEG veterinary emergency group. She said she had heard great things and took her sick pup there, from Pacifica to San Ramon based on others glowing recommendations of them. I instructed my husband to rush to San Ramon, while I called veg to give them a heads up on my dog being rushed in. By this point, I'd called multiple other "emergency" pet clinics and was frustrated with the lack of appointments (and empathy). I called VEG fully expecting to get turned away and I was pleasantly surprised with how Wonderful, supportive and helpful the front desk gal was. She calmly heard me out, understood that I was at work my husband was in the car speeding towards them with a vomiting shaking, mess of a dog. She texted me an intake form to fill out. And told me not to worry and that they would be ready to help my husband and dog as soon as they came through the door. This place has pet emergencies dialed in. My husband said as soon as he came in, they greeted him and my dog dingo by name and took them in side and seen by a vet FAST. They quickly administered IV hydration, gave him anti nausea and anti diarrheal. They took blood for tests and X-rays ( or ultrasound I'm not sure) to check for blockages. My husband was blown away by the open lobby and the efficacy and compassion. Thankfully seems like our Boy will live to see another day, he's feeling much much better. And we now have a go to location for any pet emergencies. Don't hesitate on driving here from anywhere in the Bay Area for an animal emergency. They are worth the drive and the money. I will say it was not a cheap visit but given the circumstances the care and the efficiency was well worth every single penny. This place is great. Thank you so much VEG. The best in pet emergencies

The level of compassion and care that we received from her is unparalleled. She was so patient, kind, called with updates frequently, and genuinely cared about his well-being throughout his stay. When his condition got worse and had to be transferred to specialty hospital, she called hospitals multiple times, trying to get him admitted after being told they wouldn't take him and even escalated to her Director to also make phone calls. She fought for him - fought to keep him alive. After she was finally able to get a specialty care hospital to take him and he was transferred, she called daily to check up on him even after he was discharged from VEG. The world needs more doctors like her especially during difficult times. Dr. Matsuo is a kind human, who gives me hope again that there are doctors out there who actually care about their patients vs. focusing on volume. VEG is so incredibly lucky and fortunate to have her and I highly recommend that if your pet ever has the unfortunate need to go to VEG, you ask for Dr. Matsuo. We thank her so much for being so patient, having tenacity in fighting for patients, and being just an amazing, wonderful, compassionate person. We thank you so much for saving Pinot.

They listened carefully, explained everything clearly, and made me feel supported throughout the whole process. It was obvious that they genuinely care about both pets and their owners. I really appreciated how thorough, patient, and compassionate they were and I appreciated that they gave me several options to treat him. I left feeling much more informed and reassured. I'm very grateful for the excellent care Oliver received and definitely recommend Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center to anyone looking for a veterinary team they can trust.

I rarely write reviews, and in fact I created a Yelp account specifically to write this one…read more My experience with this veterinary hospital was disappointing from start to finish. What initially raised concerns were fees that I felt were not clearly communicated. When I questioned the charges, I received explanations that did not adequately address my concerns. I escalated the issue as far as I could and was repeatedly told someone would call me back. That call never came. Over the course of weeks, I followed up multiple times by phone and email. I was consistently promised communication that never happened. Eventually, I received an email stating that if I had additional questions, they would be happy to call me. I immediately requested a call. Once again, no one contacted me. What bothered me most was not even the money--it was the complete lack of accountability and follow-through. This place gives off all the wrong corporate vibes: plenty of promises, scripted responses, and little genuine concern once an issue is raised. To be fair, there was one veterinarian who earned my trust. They treated my cat during her recovery and showed the compassion, professionalism, and care that I expected from the entire hospital. That veterinarian was the only reason I considered continuing to bring my pets here. Unfortunately, when the time came to make end-of-life decisions for my cat, I wanted nothing to do with this hospital. By that point, the lack of communication, empathy, and personal care had completely eroded my trust. What should have been a compassionate experience instead felt cold, impersonal, and disrespectful. I genuinely do not understand how this facility maintains such high ratings. I have received better communication, better customer service, and far more compassion from small, local veterinary clinics than I ever experienced here. If you are looking for a veterinary team that values communication, transparency, and treating pet owners with respect, I would strongly encourage you to look elsewhere. I regret choosing this hospital and wish I had taken my pets somewhere else from the beginning. The most frustrating part is that this entire situation could have been resolved with a simple phone call. Instead, I was repeatedly told someone would contact me, only to be ignored over and over again. For a business that cares for beloved family pets, that level of disregard is unacceptable. Margaret Simuro the "highest" contact where's my follow up you promised me multiple times? DONT GO HERE - over priced for what they give.
