For ramen, I recommend the "red" Aka Fuku. For udon noodles, the tofu was delicious as well if you need a vegetarian option. There is a small kids' menu and other non-noodles traditional Japanese dishes available as well. For drinks, there are the standard soft drink options, hot teas(or cold), beer, and wine. The atmosphere is very casual, but not to the point of feeling like a rushed lunch hour. It was not very crowded on our visit, but I noticed they probably get more to-go orders than seated service. Hoka Hoka Fuku is an excellent choice in the area if you're looking to have Japanese food. I can't wait to go back and try this place for dinner.

Located in a strip mall, parking was ample. We didn't have to wait long to get seated. Menu had a variety, but still maintained a simplicity. Ordered my go to anywhere- tonkotsu black. Delicious rich broth and added some sriracha for a kick. Ramen noodles were ok, but would have preferred my fave, udon. I just love the thicker noodles. Server stated udon was a not possibility for the kuro black soup. Friends also ordered the steamed and pan fried chicken gyoza. Service was prompt and establishment was clean. Good food.

Went on a solo date today and decided to try this place out!…read more The overall look and feel is nice and open. I went around 1 pm cst and it wasn't too busy. Good songs playing! Definitely had me and a few other patrons signing along. I was able to read my book and eat with no pressure which was nice. The waiter checked in on me every now and then - enough time that I didn't feel forgotten or rushed. I ordered the Kani salad w/o sesame seeds and tofu tonkatsu ramen. Since this was my first time I wanted to go simple. Everything was really good with no additions. Kani salad - slightly spicy (used siracha) but very good! I enjoyed it and would order it again Tofu tonkatsu ramen - the portion size is decent, definitely would make the hungriest person satisfied. The tofu is soft and so yummy with the flavorful broth. Strawberry Lychee tea - very good and refreshing I will be back with my family!

Great flavors. The Oishi Sushi Roll definitely offered very crunchy on the outside, moist on the inside and just the right amount of spice. Our party enjoyed the seating with beautiful artwork, parasols hanging from the ceiling and just the Asian flare. Also the drinks, the Pink Sweet, Yuzu jasmine Tea, and the mango slush was delicious.

The garlic ramen was rich, flavorful, and comforting, with perfectly cooked noodles and a broth that clearly had time and care put into it. The chicken tonkatsu bun was another standout--crispy chicken, soft bun, and great sauce that tied everything together. On top of the food, the atmosphere was fun and energetic, and the service was friendly and attentive. This spot hits on flavor, quality, and vibe. Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back.

The service has always been great and the atmosphere is very welcoming, which is why my family and I kept coming back. However, I recently came back yesterday and was honestly really heartbroken to find out that my favorite items are no longer being served. The pozole ramen and the chicharrón ramen are gone, and to top it off, the pork bellies are gone too. Those dishes were the main reason we would come here in the first place. I had actually been looking forward to them because I was having a really rough day, so finding out they were all gone was really disappointing. No offense to the restaurant, but without those items on the menu anymore, there's really no reason for us to return. It's a shame because those dishes were what made this place special for us.

Knowing…read morethat Chef Mike was ending his run, I wanted, no, needed to get one last bowl of the Hakata Ramen. My only regret was never being able to taste Chef Mike's menudo ramen. But still, whatever you order here, you're in for something truly special. Despite the sad news of the closing, service was always given with a smile. Our waitress was attentive, helpful, and sweet. I ordered the Hakata Ramen and a Dr Pepper (after my friend and I had coffee at Indy next door). The six minute egg is probably my favorite part. No wait, it's the broth. Or is it the noodles? Ugh, it's all great. The egg was delicious. Jammy yolk. The noodles were springy and chewy. The broth was rich and unctuous. The pork was soft and flavorful. Even when I took the leftovers home, it was still fantastic. The steam facial I received provided much relief from my mountain cedar allergies. There will be a huge ramen-bowl shaped hole in my heart and San Antonio's heart once Noodle Tree closes. They have the best ramen in the city and ramen shops have some incredibly large shoes to fill. Best of luck to you, Chef Mike. Thank you for all the magic you created in your kitchen.

They also have free arcade games to play on for the kids and the kid in you. I truly recommend Noodle Tree and I will be back there in the near future.

Could be a nice, intimate place for dinner though we were seated next to a pretty loud group. Service was fast and friendly, which was appreciated. The meal itself was decent, not great. Tried the masago and snow crab off the sushi menu; the former was good, but the latter strangely dry, as if it had sat out a little too long. An appetizer portion of the shrimp and vegetable tempura was very good. Particularly puzzling was the unagi roll. Not only did each piece of the roll fall apart, it was doused with so much eel sauce that it was hard to taste anything else. Looking back on it, I should have sent it back to the kitchen. Of note was the tempura banana dessert, which was a sort of Japanese take on a sundae! Putting crisp, hot chunks of fruit up against sweet vanilla ice cream, sprinkles, and chocolate syrup (not berries as the menu claimed) was...well, interesting. I probably wouldn't order it again, but it is novel. Average it out and it's a decent place, though I would only come again if I was in the area for something else to begin with. This place scores a 3 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK having a nosh here with Mother Mary. 3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good. Would be OK having a beer here with Jesus' Dad. 2 out of 5 stars: Come-to-the-Apostles good. Meh. Wouldn't have my last supper here. 1 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Nobody good. I wouldn't have my penultimate supper here, either.
