DO NOT EAT HERE. The fish is BAD. Ordered over $100 worth of take out and this is the product we were given for the nigiri. Not only did they tell us we were lying when we said the fish was bad, denied fixing it, and said "I don't know what to tell you," but the attitude of their manager John was RUDE and immensely unprofessional.

We weren't overly impressed but it's decent weeknight sushi. We came in on a Wednesday night around 530 and it was pretty quiet but the service was decently attentive. The udon noodles were super thick and gooey but that's what our toddler likes so it was a win in his book. The crazy roll was pretty good, I usually avoid deep fried rolls but the fish inside still was good and raw so it was a good balance. There were mostly families inside so it def seemed kid friendly.

I love sumo sushi! The food is amazing, best sushi by far in haslet. The kids that work there are awesome too. They have great customer service and are quick and very attentive.

Most of the time I order food to take home. After all the food is good at this place but just when a was about to eat the salad what a surprise! Not a fresh salad at all!

I got a volcano roll (deep fried) to go today. $15.10 total. Taste was 7.5/10. If I went back, I would try a different roll. The rolls were good size and I was full after eating them. This location is very convenient, but a little too expensive for me. I will be an occasional customer due to convenient location, and I do not want to drive 12 minutes for an equally good sushi for cheaper.

My family went in for dinner tonight and Ryan was our waitress. She was absolutely amazing and was friendly and fun! We ordered the Monkey Brains, Sumo Mussels, Ahi Tuna Tower, and Haslet Roll. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented! We also had the Ruby Ocean Roll, which is a scrumptious hidden gem not in the menu and it just melted in our mouths. The experience at Sumo Sushi was not only yummy but so welcoming . We will definitely be back and are so excited to have some of the best sushi in DFW so close to us!!!! read more

Went in tonight for the first time and placed a Togo order. $48 worth of food! The only thing good out of my whole order was my sushi roll and egg rolls. The teriyaki chicken tasted like it came out of a freezer bag!! And the fried rice was nothing special either. And I also got the vegetable undo noodles!! Literally the worst noodles I've ever had! Crunch, Kani & Spider rolls are amazing! Both Richard and Raymond have been our servers here and always provide the best service. I went for lunch and ordered a Louisiana Roll and 911 Roll...They were absolutely delicious! There are so many more Rolls I have to go back and try! The service was great! My waitress was a sweetheart. The sushi chef was also very nice and polite. When I got my ticket at the end of my meal...I was stunned $10.00 for 2 Classic sushi rolls!!! Winning! read more

Fish was extremely fresh, and soooo delicious! Highly suggest the yellowtail heaven roll, yum yum roll and the haslet roll! We also ordered the bulgogi tower and the short ribs. They were hot meals but my god the meat was so tender and seasoned great (especially for a sushi restaurant). My wife surprisingly wanted to go out for sushi and although I enjoy sushi she isn't a big fan. We got the haslet roll and it was really good and she actually enjoyed it too! I recommend trying this place out...Friendly staff and good atmosphere I will be back for sure! read more

This is the best sushi around bar none. Lunch special 2 for 10.00 rolls, and bento boxes are cheap. The rolls are fantastic and although the place is small is has a nice atmosphere. The chef makes his rolls a work of art, they look almost too pretty to eat, Almost ! If you love sushi then you have to give this place a try. I will be returning again, and again, and again, and well you get the point. read more

They were small, but we have been spoiled by a couple of places were we get really big rolls. Overall and great spot and will stop by again if we are in the area. read more

This place in my opinion is hit or miss. I like my sushi meat cold because fish can go bad really quick and develop a texture coating if you know what I mean. I've had both here. Fresh tasting sushi and sushi I was concerned about. If you want to know if I will be back? It depends if I feel like driving to another sushi restaurant I really really like. I've never gotten sick from eating here so cross my fingers I never do. read more

I will say that the fish is good, but not worth the crappy attitude of the new waitstaff. Stopped in yesterday. Had a couple of rolls. Had to flag down our server for refills - he rolled his eyes (!!) and grabbed our glasses. He did not bring ginger or wasabi after we asked twice. We would have asked for a different server but it seemed like he was the only one, though it was busy and no manager in sight. Heard him loudly complaining about a customer to someone in the back. What happened to Raymond??? He could teach this guy a thing or two. Until the staff shapes up, we will drive to Fort Worth for sushi. read more

I went to this restaurant on a recommendation of a co-worker. It was delicious! I had the Lobster roll and a friend of mine had the Geisha roll. We both thought it was fantastic! Excellent! Great atmosphere, so it down service but relaxed, great prices. Lunch special of any two classic rolls for $10 can't be beat. And, they weren't able to do a substitution I requested, which was no problem, but they sent the most beautiful animal carved out of an orange on the house as an apology which our 18 month old loved! read more

Worst sushi I've ever had in my life. Salmon came out with a pale grayish color. Soup was boiled water with green onions. Owner was shocked that I wanted to leave and couldn't understand why. I said you need to check your sushi or someone else will get sick. Would not recommend read more

The restaurant is nice inside, clean, and have a good staff. We had California rolls which were as good as the Sushi bars in North Fort Worth. The total was around $13. The menu is quite large. We will return to explore the menu further. The outside of the restaurant could look better. We turned away previously deciding not to make a mistake. Don't let the outside appearance stop you because it's nice on the inside! read more

Simply put we ordered way too much food today. Their Chicken wings are huge...meaty. I'm not a fan of wings that are as heavily breaded as these were. The buffalo wings for instance were ok. Nothing special. Same with the lemon pepper. The Asian style wings with "fish oil" were our least favorite. The Creamy crab egg rolls were delicious and unique. The chicken eggs rolls were ok. I'm on the hunt for egg rolls that are stuffed with cabbage. These, like the chicken wings are little too heavy on the breading. The Garlic Noodles are sooooo good. Tasty with the right amount of spice. The Kim Chi "stew" was tasty.

We were a bit disappointed considering the ratings. They did have great service! The girl at the front was very friendly

My wife and I have been here twice now. I rarely go out of my way to write a review, but I want to for selfish reasons. This place is awesome!! And I want it to stay. We consider ourselves to be quite experienced sushi consumers and did not expect much out of a place is Haslet, Texas. Boy were we wrong. This is one of my favorite spots in the DFW area. My wife is a vegetarian and has now found her favorite veggie roll of all time...the tempura veggie roll. It was so good the first time that I ordered one myself on our second visit, and I'm pure carnivore. I have tried two specialty rolls. The fully loaded volcano roll is huge and tastes amazing. The Geisha roll was pretty fantastic as well. I love spicy tuna, and Sumo makes a tempura spicy tuna roll that is really good. Also, if you like seaweed salad, theirs is great, and they do not fluff it with cucumbers or lettuce. You get a nice little mound of seaweed. Overall, I have been nothing but impressed, as has been my wife. The waitstaff is great, and the chefs are fun and amiable. Two Fridays in a row now, with a third coming in a few short days. Never thought I would write a glowing review about a sushi joint in Haslet. read more

I can't believe I'm just now writing a review for this place! I've been coming here for a few years now...definitely one of my FAV sushi places (and I've had sushi all over the world). I remember being reluctant to go there because it was in Haslet Tx...how good could sushi be in TX?? lol But it was! They've been super consistent over the years. Never had a bad experience. All their rolls are good and my fav appetizer (and meal sometimes) is monkey brains!! You gotta try it! read more

I eat sushi everywhere I go and I have to say that Sumo is in the top 3. Get the Ahi Tower and the Haslet roll. They also take special requests. The price is reasonable for the size of the rolls that you get and competitive with most other sushi restaurants. For non-sushi eaters the teriyaki chicken bowl is one of the best I've had as well. read more

This is my favorite sushi restaurant. I have had some of the best sushi here. The Chefs are artists. It is a great restaurant. You can call in and pick up your order. I have done this a few times. Try it! read more
