Cute place and great concept so hopefully they will improve with a little time and feedback. Service was good and food came out fast but mediocre. The salad is shredded lettuce with torn American cheese slice and wilted tomatoes. My husband ate his burger but thought it paled in comparison to similarly priced burgers in OKC (with Bar Arbolada down the street this isn't even worth a stop). Wife and I were visiting from out of town when our host suggested we give Sun Cattle Co. a try ( they eat there often). Prior to our visit to Sun Cattle, I reviewed the menu and read some customer reviews. Upon entering the restaurant I fell in love with the authentic OKC feel of the place. Decor included numerous heads on cattle on the walls and plenty of generous sized booths. Our party had mostly onion burgers while I had a chili cheese burger with a chili dog on the side. Meat quality and taste were superb. Great beer and cocktails too. Definitely a must visit to truly experience OKC. Highly recommend. read more

For a gals night out we decided to try out sun cattle co because of the raving celebrity reviews and to see if this place was in the running to be a top tier burger joint in OKC. The food was okay. Unfortunately nothing remarkable about the taste, no zesty sauce or presentation...just a bun, patty, and pickles on the side. This greatly disappointed me. I asked if their signature sun sauce was included with the burgers - no, it's not. It's an additional 75 cents (which I absolutely paid for). The sun sauce is Big Mac sauce without any Worcestershire, so it was pretty bland. The service was just fine, employees were there doing their job and trying to have a good time while doing so. The overall ambiance of the place is cute country fast food aesthetic. You would absolutely NEVER imagine that the same folks who operate Luidivine and R&J Supper Club also operate this place (both of those restaurants are excellent dining experiences, food is amazing). That being said I hope someone reads this and decides to add some more creativity to this place. It is bland. Very beige. I had The Big - Jack, tator crowns, and the side salad. The burger was probably one of the better burgers that I have had and the tator crowns were perfectly cooked. The salad wasn't anything special but the ranch was really good. My daughter had the hand dipped corn dog, which I tied, and it was really good. Cute decor and great location, but terrible price. It was expensive and mediocre for food I could get at a fast food joint. For a place this centrally located, I would think they would have a menu with a bigger burger selection or at least find something special to market, such as grass fed beef or a farm to table kind of thing. The food also came out on paper plates, which didn't match the vibe of the decor. This is a great restaurant to get quality food and drinks. Ordering was easy and you can order bar drinks at the same time you order food. The steak sandwich was tender, hamburgers loaded, onion rings were delicious. Parking along the street was easy. I had seen Sun Cattle all over Instagram so we checked it out. The restaurant has a great look/theme and has a very retro/old-timey feel. It's located in a cool part of OKC. Think of it as maybe Cattleman's fraternity brother who graduated OSU - classy and buttoned up but there is definitely dirt on the jeans! I would recommend the steak nuggets (obvi) with a side of onion rings, the onion burger (as it comes) with fries, the Stillwell(?) strawberry for those of you who'd like to pass on the beer, annnddd for those of you looking for a beer, get their Specialty Brew, you won't be disappointed especially if it's hot outside. Make sure to watch the screen while ordering. The guys will roll their eyes and not enter it because "the burgers are smash burgers, they're already crispy".. when i've been there 3 times in two weeks, i know your standard. please give me the food how i ordered, not a hard concept. the food was awesome the first time or two when they first opened. i recommended it to everyone. since then, (8 more visits) i'm not sure if it's because they can't keep it consistent with more business.... but it has been nothing like before. onion rings not holding the batter, fries soggy coming straight out of the fryer, burgers lacking flavor. the cook even knew my wife and my order when we walked in, as we were coming there consistently. probably won't be going back until these things are worked out. very disappointing. read more

Just a few of the things I saw: * Industrial decor on the ceiling, art deco on the chandeliers, country and western everywhere else * A mural photograph where one restaurant partner rides a donkey * A woman with a pixie cut drinking Natty Light at the bar * Hispanic men wearing cowboy hats watching their kids play on smartphones in the booths * Empty nesters out for a night on the town, everywhere * College kids mixed in here and there * The other business partner passing out menus, live, on a Friday night * Most people abiding by the social contract of only taking seats once they have ordered and started drinking (beer or coke, it was mixed) The cuisine pressed the boundaries of what was socially acceptable. Peanut butter and jelly: it's a lunch staple. Ice cream: it's a dessert. Fried PB&J with ice cream: it defies all conventions. I'll be honest. The burger itself is only adequate. Yet the onion rings are 10/10. The house beer is probably Bud Light--maybe rebranded to avoid the boycott? Came here for the first time tonight, after my husband found it on tik tok. I ordered a corn dog, and the husband and kids ordered burgers. Corn dog seemed to have a home made breading. It was decent, my daughter ended up finishing it for me. The burgers were well made. The service was great, food took awhile which usually indicates fresh food. Loved that. Ambiance was uplifting and the vibes of the restaurant were on point. Love the decor and music was very fitting. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Wasn't to busy for a Thursday afternoon. Kind of torn between a 3 or a 4. Hamburgers we very good. The onion rings were totally beautiful but taste didn't live up to presentation. Breading totally came off on all of them completely. That's somewhat normal for most onion rings but these were totally naked onions once you pick them up and start to eat them. The fried pickles were ok. I prefer a larger amount of pickle to breading ration. I think fried dill spears would have been better. Service was good, restaurant was clean and simply but nicely decorated in a cattle theme. Vintage burger place, thin griddle burgers with or without grilled onions, decent fries (fresh cut would be better), onion rings are too thin to enjoy the onion part of the onion ring. Sodas, the Dr. Pepper needs more syrup. You won't lose customers over bad drinks necessarily but, give people a good drink when they pay for it Great milkshakes, great decor. My grandchildren and I started a thing of trying one new restaurant a month. Sun Cattle Co has been on the list for several months and last night was the night. Our family order had burgers -four different ones, French fries, onion rings, fried pickles and chili cheese fries. NOTHING disappointed. The burgers were very good. I really like a good onion burger and their Theta was delicious. French fries were fresh, crispy, tasty. Onion rings were crunchy coated but sweet and tender inside. Maybe most surprising was chili cheese fries. I expected good and not only was it good, they did not skimp on the chili as some do. Wait time was minimal, order staff very patient with our littles. This place was okay. Their beer is delicious! Luckily we got there before the mad rush of people so while I felt our wait for food was long, it wasn't as long as it could have been. The food tasted good, but the burgers are so thin they're not filling. We spent a lot of money and walked away still feeling kinda hungry. Onion rings taste like a bloomin onion but the breading doesn't stay on the onion. The chocolate shake is mediocre, Braums makes a better shake for less money.
