    Sun City Chicken -- delicious
    Jules B.

Fantastic! We met some friends for dinner and were floored with how delicious the food was at Sun City along with the portion sizes and freshness -- they hit all the marks! Our meals were so large we were able to eat leftovers 2 more times. My parents also shared the leftovers and enjoyed them so much, they've already been there themselves a couple of times. The queso was delicious -- I highly recommend it along with the Sun City Chicken. The ambiance is quirky and eclectic. If you don't have anything to talk about, the walls of this place will provide plenty of conversation starters.

Beef burrito. It's there and it's huge! Yum!

Another hidden gem! How did I miss this place for so many years? Well I'm glad we stopped. A quaint and offbeat way to serve Mexican dishes. Our meals had a plethora of flavors with each bite. The portions are huge so be prepared to take some home. First time my wife actually ate leftovers the next day. Ask for the spicy salsa! The service was fantastic. We never had to wait for a refill on the salsa or the Cervezas!

Incredible food, fun atmosphere and friendly staff that make you feel at home. After visiting Myrtle Beach for years we grew tired of the same old chain restaurants and sought out local dining options. We hit the jackpot with Sun City. I had the amazing chicken taco which you might think is fairly boring fare but I was blown away by the slow braised chicken! Totally took me by surprise! All the toppings, sides, even our guacamole has fresh ingredients and wonderful seasonings. The portions are SUBSTANTIAL so plan to take your leftovers home! I'm enjoying mine as I write this and relive a really lovely evening at Sun City. Thanks Tracy & Cary!

My father-in-law took us on a little trek away from the main ocean boulevard/boardwalk area, to this cute little local spot for dinner. The staff were so kind and the food was amazing and super fresh. Phenomenal Tex Mex style dishes. The shrimp dip is a must have -- one of the best dip apps I've ever had honestly. The salsas are some of the best as well (the spicy tomatillo-verde one is out of this world!) The burritos are some of the biggest I've probably ever seen (he ordered one and I was slightly jealous, no lie, but my eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach). And the vegetarian/vegan options were great as well. I had the vegan tacos, which may as well have been a burrito also. You definitely get your money's worth portion-wise here.

AHH-MAZING! This shrimp queso dip is the best thing I've ever ate. Don't walk, run and go get yourself some! The salsa and fresh ingredients, so good. All of our food was awesome, and the place itself is super cute. This is a hidden gem that you don't want to miss.

Jamie Broadhurst, a local personality, had been talking about this place for years, so my family decided to give it a shot. We were the first seated. The waitress was very accommodating; she spoke well to the menu and was attentive to keeping the chip and salsa bowls filled. The kids ordered "build your own taco" and cheese dip, my wife ordered black bean tacos, and I ordered the potato burrito. We ordered a small guacamole for the table, and it was fantastic. The potatoe burrito was stuffed with a mashed potato/black bean/tomato mixture and topped with a spinach queso and lettuce, limes, radishes, and sour cream. If being a vegetarian meant I could eat this every meal, I might consider it. All in all, great food and service in what is definitely a local dive.

WOW..Exceeded my expectations. Old school burrito was full of flavor and the freshness of the ingredients was obvious. Also the portions were healthy to say the least. It was a pleasure to meet Tracy as she made me feel genuinely welcome. I will be back.

Beautifully kept secret in Myrtle Beach... come hungry! Great environment for family and just a casual hang. The food is both traditional AND unlike anything you'll find anywhere else. Highly recommend.

Huge portions! A fun, cozy, and beachy atmosphere with unique wall decorations. Had my work party here and everyone was satisfied!

My husband and I were starving and saw an ad while picking up our car. I didn't even know that this was on the other direction but it was nearby so we stopped and had some food. You order at the counter and they bring your food to your table. I had a spritz of sorts and my husband had a beer. I ordered fish and chips and it was delicious. The fish batter was very flavorful and the fish was huge and seasoned well. The chips (aka fries) were also well seasoned. My husband enjoyed his pulled pork sandwich as well. The restaurant had several tables inside. They keep everything clean and organized but the menus were slightly sticky. Could be the fact that they serve beer. Still, the experience was great and we left happy with full bellies.

Run, don't walk to try this one! You can probably guess which one I took home from the to-go cooler! My husband got a dessert coffe cake a well. It looked home made and came with ice and whipped cream. Nick is an absolute legend!…read more We came to Portofino not knowing what to expect, and we left completely blown away -- and honestly, a huge part of that was our waiter, Nick. This guy is on another level. From the moment we sat down, Nick's energy, knowledge, and genuine passion for hospitality set the tone for the entire evening. He wasn't just taking our order -- he was curating an experience. Now let's talk about the Cacio e Pepe -- insanely good doesn't even begin to cover it. It was perfectly executed: silky, bold, with just the right bite of pepper. Classic done right. But you know what made it taste even better? Nick. He recommended it with such confidence and enthusiasm that we had to order it, and he absolutely delivered. Nick was attentive without being overbearing, knowledgeable without being pretentious, and just an all-around fantastic human being. He made us feel like VIP guests from start to finish -- checking in at exactly the right moments, offering spot-on suggestions, and keeping the whole experience flowing effortlessly. If you go to Portofino, you absolutely should ask for Nick by name. He is the kind of server that reminds you why going out to dinner is supposed to be a special occasion. We will 100% be back, and Nick is a big reason why. Portofino, you have a gem on your staff. Treat him well!
