I stopped at Sun King and ordered the chicken quesadilla, which on the menu sounds great: fire-braised chicken, Mexican blend, tomatoes, lime crema, and salsa in a toasted flour tortilla. Unfortunately, what showed up didn't match the description at all. The tortilla was toasted, but the filling was basically cheese and chicken that tasted like it came straight out of a can. The chicken had very little seasoning and none of the "fire-braised" flavor you'd expect. There were no fresh vegetables to speak of--no noticeable tomatoes or Mexican blend--and if there was salsa in there, it was hard to tell. The lime crema had virtually no flavor. On the positive side, the customer service was excellent, and the drinks were solid, which made the experience better overall. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was fine for an airport stop. That said, I wouldn't come here for the food again. If you're just looking for a drink and good service, Sun King works. If you're hungry and expecting the menu to match what's on your plate, you may want to look elsewhere. read more

Airport restaurants and bars all seem to be about the same in terms of food and atmosphere. So, when it comes to reviewing, something needs to stand out. Having had lunch at Sun King in the airport several times now, the thing that always stands out for me is that the servers/bartenders are always so friendly. It was the case again on my last visit. They just make you feel good about waiting in an airport. Another great thing about this location above other restaurant bars is the full selection of Sun King Brewery beers. They are an excellent brewery. I am a big fan of the Cream Ale and of the Scottish Ale. When it came to feed, it is pretty much what I expect, and just average. My Cubano was not very Cubano traditional at all, but it was fresh and tasty. The Chicken Quesadilla was your basic chicken and cheese in a tortilla. But all in all, this place serves the need for an airport meal in a friendly atmosphere. For that reason, I would give it a 7 on a 10-point scale. With just a 5-point scale, it is a solid ranking between 3 and 4. read more

We were taken care of by Bob. It was the end of he day, we were probably even after hours. They were cleaning up stuff. But he did take care of us. The food was good. Good chicken burrito tacos, bean salad and awesome chicken wings. We didn't have any drinks. We were super hungry as just needed some good food. Indianapolis airport doesn't have much options for good food on the B gates. We r very thankful to Bob for this gesture, as our flights were delayed and a total mess, so if we hadn't got any food at Indy Airport, we would have been empty stomach throughout. Sun King's string-light aesthetic at the Indy airport makes it a great place to wait to board your flight. I got the adult grilled cheese which comes with a side of kettle chips, and I really thought the flavor could've been more from both. The chips were unevenly and sparsely seasoned. The interior of the grilled cheese was pretty good, but I thought the bread was kind of cheap. This location serves some of the Sun King beer staples, like Pachanga Mexican lager, as well as seasonal options. The service was great, so this place definitely deserves 4 stars! Service is super important at a sit-down airport restaurant so that you're on time to fly. I've had Sun King all over the city and love it as a local staple in Indy. read more

Hubby got the Sun King Keller Haze IPA draft beer and he enjoyed it and said it's very light for an IPA. Great place to stop in the Indy airport to get some work done. Plenty of outlets on the long counter that faces away from the bar. It took about 10 minutes for them to get my beer for me but it seemed like the other customers got their drinks and food within 5 minutes of ordering. They don't list the seasonal beers on the menu so make sure to ask. It was $10 for the draft pour which I find a bit expensive but I was able to get a good amount of work done while sitting there so I consider it worth it. read more

When your flight gets delayed two hours in concourse B, this is about the only place for dinner worth going to. And... it's good beer and good food. But the place closes at 7pm. I never leave reviews like this but it was terrible. I get there and sit down and it's relatively busy. I'm immediately asked what I was to drink as I'm sitting down. I ask for my drink and about 10 minutes later she brings me one over. I order food when she comes and it took 40 minutes for "nachos" to come out. Some of the coldest food I've ever been served. I had been out of a drink for awhile before my food came out and she never asked if I needed another. It wasn't until I said I'd like to pay ( because my flight was boarding) that she came over and I still had to ask if my food would be coming out. They were so bad I should have just said never mind and to take them off. Do not come here for food read more

Great to see Sun King represented at the Indianapolis Airport. I always love having access to their beers when I travel to Indy. Located across from gate B14, Sun King has a large(ish) "L" shaped bar and a decent sized seating area. Like most other dining options at IND, the place is very clean and looks very modern and appealing. The staff was very friendly and attentive, though they did not know all that much about the beers. They have (16) taps and a small food menu. I had the Cali Chicken Sandwich with chips, and a Wee Mac (Scottish Ale). The sandwich was decent, it came with a bag of chips (would have been good if they had either house made chips or another house made side option). The beer, as always, was terrific. I really enjoy the Wee Mac, and I had an Osiris as well (also a very good beer). read more

Airport food is often a hit or miss guessing game. Looking through the Yelp options while in Indianapolis airport, we came across Sun King brewing. The rating total was about the same as many others, but this one looked more interesting. In addition to a great selection of Sun King brews, the food was well above average for airport fare. My choice was the brisket taco. These were flout tacos served with corn chips and a pretty good salsa. The brisket had a very good smokey flavor, not Texas great, but if this were served at a restaurant near me, I would go back for it. The taco had salsa and cabbage slaw and a really nice blended flavor. It was a great find for airport fare. If you're in concourse B, try it! read more

Sun king always has great drinks. Pachanga is a good go to and I had the mimosa. The bar tender did pour me a heavy pour of champagne, which I very much appreciated. Today I wasn't that hungry so I ordered a dark beer (forgot the name) and pretzels. The pretzels were decent. They came with honey mustard sauce and Pachanga lager cheese sauce. In a nutshell, our experience at the IND Sun King was Good Beer - So So Food. Details: Chicken Tacos (me) - Chicken Caesar Salad (Gayle) Wine for Gayle and Hazy IPA for me. Declined Christmas Beer (Electric Reindeer) - AKA - A party in your mouth. Past that, our service person was attentive and helpful, and the seating was comfortable and readily available. Ate here yesterday and got probably the worst sandwich I've ever had. Was supposed to be a turkey club. There were two slices of turkey on it, no lettuce, and what looked like a cup of mayo. The sandwich just tasted like cheese and mayo with no texture at all due to the missing lettuce. When I finally flagged down my waitress (I coudln't really wait forever as I had a flight...) and said, hey, what's up with the lettuce? She said "Oh yeah, I noticed that - maybe they're out? I'll ask." Then she came back with a plate of lettuce. Cool.... thanks. Shame bc I had decent tacos and beer here a few years ago, but this was so bad I won't come back. It was seat yourself and it took about 15 minutes to even get acknowledged by the server. It was packed and once I he come over my food and drink was served rather rapidly. I order a Cubano and was secretly disappointed. The was hardly any meat on the sandwich. One slice of ham and small scoop pull pork that ended up on only half the sandwich. I expected more for $18. Service was horrible - server had an attitude, and the food was terrible quality. Got a Cuban sandwich that was so stale that it was hard as a rock. We asked to have it taken off the bill, and the manager also had an attitude and said it was "because it was toasted." Pretty sure you can still bite through toasted bread lol. We also ordered a Mule but it never came out, and when we asked for it again, the server said "yeah you'll get it." 20 mins later, still hadn't come out. Ah traveling by plane can be many things but it's definitely the fastest way to get from A to B. We decided to relax with some brews and lo and behold there was Sun King Brewery!! There isn't too much to say about this airport watering hole but it was satisfying enough to sit, drink a couple beers and have some tacos. The beer is of course, the best thing about it. I do love me a Wee-Mac and a Cream ale!! The food was alright, nothing to get excited about, but when you're hungry and want to loosen up, it gets the job done. I'll also add it was way overpriced, however, you're at the airport, so.....reasons. So happy to have a sun king in the Indy airport! The food was so so. I got the chicken tacos and while the chicken was good, the coleslaw and sour cream were not my personal favorite. I love that it came with a huge portion of tortilla chips and salsa (although the salsa definitely came out of a jar). Of course, the beer was great!! Service was also great. This is one of the only restaurants that I'd open in concourse B past 8pm which is awesome. It was a seat yourself situation and a waitress came take our drink orders as soon as we sat down. I think after our food order went it in it took 15 minutes max to get our food. And it's close to the arrivals/departures TVs so you can keep an eye on your flight.
