Stayed at Cava over Valentines/Superbowl weekend. Had a great experience. Check in was busy but organized and fast. Facilities are well maintained. The sites are large and you don't feel on top of each other. We had some problems getting the cable to work and a special mention must go to Ranger Brian for resolving the issues. He truly went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we need. Thanks again Brian! Would definitely go back and highly recommend Cava. read more

This place used to be great to go to when they first opened it has now become party central. Large groups are noisy and obnoxious. Amplified music happens constantly. Outdoor tvs so loud you can hear the show 10 spaces away. Late night parties aren't controlled. The smaller pool used to be adult only. You could workout in the gym and swim laps. Now anyone can go and today there were volleyballs and multiple competing music playing. Kids are driving erratically in golf carts and driving through camp spots. Complaining to staff does no good. No rules are enforced any more. Time to find a new place to go. read more

Our stay here has been great. Check in was a breeze, the sites are spacious and clean, the pool was refreshing and everyone seemed to be having a great time. I would have given this place 5 stars if it wasn't for this one thing.... We have never stayed here before. We booked a trip with one other group and we wanted to have our sites together. When booking the site online, both myself and the other person booking our others friends site were confused by the twenty something dollar "site lock in feel". We both saw the info about that pop up on our screens but we thought for some reason it was just asking us to pay a deposit for our sites. It's our own faults we were confused by that. But once we received our confirmation emails we did notice in the fine print that that fee is what you pay to ensure you are locked into the site you chose. If you do not pay this fee, there is no guarantee you will receive the site you chose to begin with. Once we noticed this, we both started trying to reach them by phone to try to make sure we could pay the fee to get our sites next to each other. My friend called 3 times. No one ever returned his call. I called twice and finally got a call back. I was told there was nothing they could do for us. The lady I spoke to didn't even try. We even asked again when we got here and were once again told that there was nothing they could do. Our group ended up very far apart. We are in site 143 and our friends are in site 175. This made meal sharing very difficult amongst many other inconveniences. We tried to rectify this situation early on and we were met with lack of effort to even try by this staff. We are still here right now getting ready to go home and site 142 right next door to us never was filled. The site remained vacant this entire weekend our friends could have been next to us. We are frustrated and annoyed. This was such a simple thing they could have made right. We even gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought, maybe they kept some sites vacant for social distancing. Nope, we took a drive, this place is FULL, aside from this ONE vacancy right next door to us, where we would have LOVED our group to have been able to stay together. read more

We used to love this resort so much, we have stayed in both the Cabins and the RV spots but since Sun Oitdoors took over it has not been the same. The wristband system is horrible, it is very confusing for retirement age folks like myself and our friends, we just want to use cash or cards. And now the prices have become absurd. I keep getting promotional coupons which are useless since even with % off the cost has skyrocketed. It is a gorgeous place, well thought out, well planned, beautiful pools but whatever management and bright ideas Sun Outdoors put into place after taking over from Cava Robles isn't working. Not sure we will go back now, the extreme rate hike and wristband system is a deal breaker. read more

I reserved a Premium spot at this RV site in April 2023 for a 4-day July 2023 stay at $500.00+. My daughter and son-in-law booked a Premium spot for their RV in July 2023 for $300+, for the same type of spot. I spoke to Emily on the phone and she refused to reduce the price to the current $300.00, because she said that is what I agreed to and it's their policy to not to reduce prices for already booked spots. I called their corporate office to complain and left a v/m, advising someone to call me back from corporate and not the Paso Robles site. Instead, a male manager called me back from the Paso Robles site and he also refused to reduce the price. I cancelled my booking and rebooked it under the lower rate. Sun Outdoors-Paso Robles is a beautiful place to visit and has many amenities. When we arrived, they give us a wristband with a QR Code, so that you can upload bank info to pay for all purchases at the site. All purchases have a 20% gratuity automatically included, even for their store. They take no cash or credit cards! What could go wrong if you lose your wristband? Your banking info can't be guaranteed to be protected. Their business model and customer service is the worst i've ever seen at an RV park. read more

The facilities are beautiful, however the resort caters to the "party crowd". We stayed during Memorial Day weekend, we were overwhelmed by the party atmosphere and lack of safety measures. The "family" pool was filled with adults partying (taking shots, beer bongs, etc) all the while a DJ played and children swam amongst the chaos. Later on, in the evening, we witnessed cars driving way over the 10 MPH speed limits. A child narrowly missed getting hit by one of the speeding cars. There was lack of enforcement and increased safety danger. If you are looking for family friendly atmosphere, this is not the place. read more

The resort is great but unfortunately they are not adhering to strict Covid policies. Went to enjoy class of wine from the bar and there were 6 people with no masks at all in there getting drinks inside and the bartender did not have her mask on. We reserved ~9 RV spots and 8 Chalets. During the check in process the woman at the front desk was beyond rude, it was like we were doing her a favor for staying there. With out us even discussing it between ourselves, as each group in our party checked in about 50% of them asked "was the dark haired woman extremely rude"? Yes In fact I will not come back. Mind you our group spent ~$8,000 there in 5 days. Upon check-out the Site Charge was not correct and the Golf Cart rental went up on Friday? so we booked at $60 and got charged $80? They reversed the charge only after the "nice girl" at check out jumped in and helped. Impossible to get anyone by phone EVER, this MUST be corrected. They charge you $20 more to "Lock in" an actual site number" Really? I tried to buy two bags of ice and waited 10 minutes? they gentlemen behind the counter finally told me he did not know how to use the credit card machine? I left $5 and walked out. For the Past 6 Years our large group has stayed at the Sister Property Wine Country RV. Cheryl treated us like paying guests, not so at Cava. Larry at Cava was a Joy and professional. The Park is beautiful and well maintained, pools are exceptional. Suggestions for Sun RV Resorts Corporate- * Training, then more training * Hire AAA people at the front desk with people and computer skills *Customer service is everything, check -in is the first interface and sets the tone. * Answer the phone, there were 4 people at the front desk and check in was laughable. read more

No question about it, The park is beautiful. We really enjoyed both pools and one of the hot tubs. We had cocktails delivered to us poolside. Showers were nice. Our concerns were parental responsibilities who let their children ride bikes with no helmets. They were riding after dark in the roadways. Your rules are helmets under 18. I never saw any staff riding around in carts checking to make sure guests followed rules. We witnessed children using both hot tubs without any parent present. Music not suitable for families being played by the hot tub, some families left and went to the lap pool, and champagne being sprayed on guests by the family pool. Again never saw any staff present to make sure all rules were followed. Lap pools restrooms were not freshly cleaned by 10 am Sunday. We will stay here again, I'd just like to see more staff at such a large resort. read more

I have HIGHLY recommended this place to all my friends and family. They have it all here 2 pools,on site wine tasting, golf cart rentals, kids splash pad, laundry, WiFi, concrete slabs with a picnic table and fire pit provided, etc. We had the BEST time staying here. Since we were first timers they gave us 20% off (you may want to call and ask about that.) Everything here was done top notch and they have clean and well maintained pools, showers, and grounds! There was some fun activities for us to do and a lot of businesses are very close by if you need anything. We WILL be returning multiple times to enjoy the experience more with friends and family. **My only feedback to improve on would be there lack communication with answering their phones it took us an hour to get a hold of someone, but once they answered they had GREAT customer service skills and personally I could look past it because we had such a great experience here otherwise. read more

Looking around the area to find an upscale resort to stay at next summer. After reading the comments posted by "friends," I am not only hesitant to stay at such an unwelcoming RV park, I am more inclined to caution my friends and "family" about subjecting themselves to your blatant discrimination. I would suggest you re-evaluate your management team at Cava Robles and provide them with some serious sensitivity training! The setting is beautiful, the sites large, the electrical posts and water fittings are new. Other than that, this place has a real attitude towards some folks and it isn't good. We arrived with a group of about 26 rigs, a planned trip made a year in advance. It was cold, November weather, and instead of the promised meeting room, we were crammed into a room barely big enough to hold the attendees. I should have know there was going to be issues because upon on checking in, the front desk person was not in the least interested in smiling and went through the motions of greeting. I have been RVing for 12 years, 10 with the same group, and we've never been treated so negatively. I will also add that we are a LGBT group with hundreds of members, stay all over California, and have never been treated this way. Our rigs are new, we are respectful, we honor all those around us with our actions always recognizing that there are children in the park so why Cava felt they had to treat us so shabbily is beyond me. I will not recommend or stay in the park, there are too many others to choose from. read more

This place is spectacular! My first stay here - we typically stay at their sister property - Wine Country RV (which we love) but I was tempted to check this place out since I was offered a holiday special rate. So glad I did! The amenities here are over the top - Welcome Center, Fitness Center, Club House and the BEST DOG PARK I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED! The architecture reminds me of a cabin or something you'd find in Tahoe. The RV sites offer lots of space and a fire pit at each location - which is a real treat. The amenities also have communal fire pits so it's a great way to meet people and other dogs. The property is SPRAWLING - and I mean that in a very positive way. It goes on for ever. There is a very nice walking trail around part of the property that boasts (and delivers) on beautiful views. We got here just in time for the free Friday night wine tasting and music. It was OK - not amazing - not quite as fun an environment as the similar feature at Wine Country. We sat outside near the pool and hot tub - which are amazing. What would make it a 5? First, I think they are still working through some glitches since they are so new. We had a terrible experience at the Bistro - not great service and they really messed up our order - and didn't know until we got back to our RV - so that was a bummer. Also the place is so new - it really lacks the "mature" feeling that Wine Country has - i.e. grown trees, etc. This place looks a little like a parking lot. Also - they need a better Customer Service mind set - they are a bit lacking in that! My favorite thing? The dog park really is the best I have seen. Huge, grassy, clean, well groomed, some large Oaks to kick back under. I assume it will start to degrade with time - but in the mean time - it was glorious! And to me - Dog parks at RV parks are one of the most important amenities! We'll be back - but we won't dump Wine Country! read more

First-time visitors. Read prior reviews and was shocked by the number of complaints of people not social distancing, too many people at the pool, and even one that was "anxious" because of too many political flags. When we arrived, check-in staff was friendly and the process was very efficient. All sites and entire resort was new and clean. Once settled, we changed into our swim suits and headed to the pool. We were subsequently turned away because the pool was at its "Covid-19" capacity. We later got in at another scheduled session. Yes, all staff were wearing PPE, social distancing, and very kind. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this was pro-Trump and pro-police country (Paso Robles). This is not the place for those that are afraid of Covid-19 or suffer from "political anxiety." If you are anti-American and anti-police and scared of your shadow because of Covid-19, you should just stay home. Thanks Cava Robles & Sun RV Resorts for the fantastic time! PS: Resort is not beach cruise bike, with no gears, friendly . Take advantage of golf cart rentals or bring your electric bikes or mountain bikes with gears. I wish they could rent them without the 2 night minimum but I understand with cleaning it's what they have to do. FALSE ADVERTISING. Cava Robles is very very expensive. I figured for the price & amenities it would be worth the price. WRONG. I took our 3 kids & figured with my husband out golfing we could have lunch at the Bistro. I asked when I made reservations, confirmed on July 12th when we checked in, they even gave us a menu with Saturday the 13th Menu. So imagine our shock, upset & disappointment when we get to the Bistro & it's closed all day in anticipation of an Event. We can see inside & the tables are all made up. The kids & I were starving after morning of swimming & running around. Had to go back to RV for Cereal. Very disappointed, feel cheated after spending so much money to camp at such a poorly run facility. I attached photo of the Menu, that clearly shows with the date that the bistro should have been open. We had to change all of our eating plans because we did not trust the Bistro to be open. read more

Great family RV resort. If your looking for a chill place to read a book and not be disturbed, then go somewhere else. I've been here twice now. I find the place to be very clean and well maintained. The golf carts are great and definitely make getting around the large property a ease. Paso Robles Police drove through multiple times each day interacting positively with people and giving kids stickers. My biggest complaint is the swimming pools. Every morning that we showed up on the weekend days, people had towels and personal belongings on all the tables and chairs "reserving" their spots, yet most people didn't show up until later. I also observed many vehicles driving up and dropping loads of people off to use pool that weren't staying at the RV resort. There was no staff to address this issue. The place also needs to build another large swimming pool to accommodate the amount of people who use the resort on the weekends. Another issue is the game rooms aren't available like they should be, the bar/bistro is not open daily, and hours for everything I just mentioned are not consistent. For the amount of money we pay to stay there, all the services should be available everyday. My hopes is the place stays clean and family oriented. Over all the place is fun and it has a close proximity to a lot of cool places. Place has great potential to be the best if it buttoned up a few things. read more

Nice Park, great spaces with really nice views. For the price my only disappointment was the lack of oversight by staff. Kids are running everywhere unsupervised. The park has a long list of rules but absolutely no enforcement of them. Originally I'm pretty sure they advertised having an Adult pool. Now it's referred to as a Lap Pool and open to everyone. I think they are missing the boat here at least with older RV'rs. We'll be heading back to Wine Country RV Park in the future and pass on Cava. read more

We have stayed here several times in the past and always had a great experience. However, last week we stayed four mid-week nights and the experience was not nearly as good. Parties with loud music, loud people, corn hole contests in the streets till late (one group even brought in what looked like construction lights for night play), and kids ripping around on motorized scooters and bikes. Also, looked like the kids got into the bathrooms, emptied the TP holders, and spread the TP all over the floor ... what a mess! While we recognize with the pools and activities for kids this is a family oriented RV resort, seems like there needs to be more control .... especially of the partying adults at night! read more

Kids screaming and jumping into pools like you show in your video on fb is anything but relaxing. Spent thousands there and were asked to leave because of what the neighbors considered "loud music". The police showed up while we weren't in the Rv and destroyed our door by smashing on it with a flashlight. Worst camping experience ever. The music considered loud was during the afternoon into early evening, NOT after quiet time which is at 11pm. The neighbors swore up and down that they didn't complain so I'm sure it was just the park saying they did. The manager was very unprofessional ( never met her until our last day, not sure why she didn't do her job and stop by sooner) but the general manager anton who came to our site was very nice and refunded us immediately. If there was any wrongdoing on our part why did we get a refund? Thats where they admit fault to a flawed system. Whoever called the police also told them we had a baby crying inside our rv , we have NO children and can't have any, so thats very hurtful. We were never once told if you play loud music we will throw you out. Yes people complained "so they say" but at least say hey this is your last warning or we will have to ask you to leave. We were just trying to have fun like everyone else staying there and being way louder than we were. This "was" our favorite park in the US until bad management at the resort ruined that! We stayed here before and it was great and never had 1 complaint. Sun outdoors took over and ruined the whole place. The moral of the story is... either quiet time is 11pm or it isn't. Ps: The guy who complained about us signed up for yelp to tell us we were loud,rude and drunk neighbors. Drunk at 3pm??? Sorry but we weren't drunk, we were working out in our rv listening to music. We would have turned down the music if they didn't have 3 dogs running around off leash after they complained about us and their small child stuck in the drainage on her bike with training wheels screaming her head off for 10 minutes. Very nice place! Very friendly staff. This is a newer RV Park so the trees are not big (lack of shade) in the hot summers they get. In a few years they will be prefect to seat outside or helping to keep the RV a little cooler. WIFI and cable TV worked okay for an RV Park. Streets are all paved and sites were all concert And level. Price is a little high, but I guess due to the area it is normal to others in the area. We did not use the pool or Landry here ( overnight stay), but they looked great. We would stay here again. read more

This is the second time I have stayed here. I will never stay here again. We went for a 3 night staycation. It was so noisy all 3 nights, we had to call the after hour customer service to help us, because no one is even there at the office after 9:00 pm. There were so many kids riding bikes and playing in the streets it was so stressful, thinking I could run one of them over. The parents and security were not helping at all. This is a beautiful new resort RV Park. It will be even better when the trees grow in providing shade. WiFi works fine. Cable, water, sewer, electric. We have a nice spot with a view. Note there are many spots that are 90 degree angle parking--not easy for some rigs so look at the map before you book. The sites are concrete pad with dirt/gravel. There is a nice picnic table and fire ring. The clubhouses are very nice and new. Front desk very nice and accommodating. All that being said I will agree with other recent reviewers that you do not want to be here on a weekend unless you want massive amounts of people, music, packed swimming pools, kids everywhere riding bikes in the streets (many without helmets), kids driving golf carts, partying, and loud, etc. When we checked in they gave us wristbands that were to be used on the weekends for the pool and other areas yet no one seems to be checking these wristbands anywhere. It's literally a zoo. I also saw people at the pool area as early as 8 a.m. staking out lounge chairs with towels and items and then leaving. I would definitely come back anytime school is in session and not on a weekend. I would never come back in summer on a weekend ever again. Overall I am rating 3-3.5 for the above reasons, I think it would be a 5 if it were not summer and not a weekend. I'm basically just doing laundry and hanging out in the RV today. You won't have much competition for laundry on a hot Saturday in summer. I will update this review if we are back in any other time than summer weekend. read more

So we got an e-mail from a friend inviting us to celebrate his wife's 40th birthday party in Paso Robles at an RV resort. My first thought was "Paso Robles, nice!" My second thought was "What the hell he was thinking dragging us out to an RV park so we could watch Cousin Eddy in his bathrobe smoking a cigarette purging the waste tanks screaming, 'Shitter's full!'" But we really like these friends and we figured the wine would cure the location issues quickly, and we could bring the kids too. So we say yes and book one of the two bedroom chateaus at a price that was comparable to a Bay Area hotel room (we don't have an RV). The office was supposed to be open until 7:00 pm when we arrived, but it had closed and our keys and check-in materials were outside with our names on it. It wasn't hard to find the place though and we were settled easily enough. 'Chateau' may be a liberal use of the word, perhaps a better word is 'mobile home,' but it was cozy, cute and clean with an outdoor grill, patio, two bedrooms, kitchen and small bathroom. After unpacking, I walked around to check out the facilities. Man, I have to admit I was impressed. Most RV parks are lucky to have a water fountain, but this place has two pools, a workout center, a wine and beer bar, pool table, foos ball, card tables, board games...it was packed with things to do for both you and your family. We had a blast at the pool the next day, and our kids had the greatest time going from place to place doing what kids do when their parents are comfortable with them walking around in a safe environment. That there was a band of old guys that clearly knew how to play in the old days and were still pretty good at it was a nice touch. Regarding Cousin Eddy...I would admit some of the people may not have renewed their memberships to the St Francis Yacht Club, but everyone was enjoying themselves in a way where others felt comfortable. So the place was probably five stars except for the price and some of the services needed just a little more attention. But I have to admit I, The Wife, and The Girls really enjoyed ourselves. read more

There are a few options for RV parks in the area but this one is by far the most beautiful and closest to the DT Paso. The "Elite" sites, which are the premium sites are the ones with the best views and sunsets though are not closest to the great bistro, pools or country store. They are actually more private and there is no one right next to your front or back, at all actually. Actually the front and back spacing is really generous and spacious through the whole property but the Elites have the best distant views. All the sites are great IMO, but you can pay more for a more private scenic spot, which could be worth it if you are looking for that kind of experience. You might pass on a premium site if you want to be closer to the action and don't mind the potential for noise or foot traffic that the amenities/attractions can bring.
