    Green and fuzzy
    Jack M.

Joe presented as very knowledgeable and took care of our pool for a year or so. Because the rains were so heavy last year, they ended up letting our pool get away from them. He goes to the pool and spa convention every Spring, right when he should be concentrating his efforts on getting his customers pools ready for swim season. When he came back from the convention, he took another vacation. At that point my pool was a green fuzzy mess. After several visits by the actual pool technician (who is a very nice person), two filer cleans later ($600) he sent me a very nasty text about my pool being a nightmare. He quit during peak pool season. No fore-warning, no hint he was even frustrated. It proved impossible to find another pool company, he left us in a very bad way. The whole situation was unprofessional and to add insult to injury the text he sent to me was mind boggling! He delineated what equipment and what chemicals I would need to purchase to do his job. I hired a professional pool company to take care of our pool and in the end I got a dirty pool and was insulted for his lack of attention.

But, as we always do, we received three (3) bids including Capstone. Their bid was in the middle -- very fair price for high quality work. When we signed the contract, they stated the project (complete pool renovation - surface, waterline tile and coping reset) would take about four (4) to five (4) weeks. They completed the work in two (2) weeks. During the process, they clearly communicated day of service, time, their intentions and scope of work. We were very impressed in how they conduct their business. To say the least, Capstone/Dynamic is very professional, clear in delivery expectations and communications, and incredibly skilled in their craft -- pool renovation, especially surfaces. We have a pebble surface that has been expertly done and gives the water a "Caribbean Blue" color. Without question, I highly recommend Capstone/Dynamic for your pool renovation project. In our opinion, none better!

The project included replacing the original…read moreplaster with PebbleTec, installing new waterline tile, and refinishing the rocks, waterfall, and slide, and new pool lights. Their office staff communicated well throughout the process, but unfortunately the workmanship has resulted in ongoing problems. They have returned approximately five times to address issues, yet we continue to have concerns. One major problem was that the area where the new tile met the skimmer box was never properly sealed, causing the pool to leak. We were told we needed to pay to have the leak detected, so we ultimately fixed the issue ourselves. The pool lights did not work. The paint used on the rocks has also proven to be very poor quality. It continually peels off, exposing the gray primer underneath, making the pool look worn despite only being a few years old. The PebbleTec finish is extremely rough--so rough that it has caused our children's feet to bleed while swimming. We expected a durable, professionally finished pool, not one that has required repeated repairs and still isn't comfortable to use. While the communication from their team was good, the quality of the work did not meet our expectations, and we cannot recommend them based on our experience.

I managed a couple locations a few years back, Vista and a Orange County location. I just finished my last sales event(The SD county Fair) which is the official close of my 39 year career. Champagne spas takes the details in business as well as the responsibilities very seriously. I have always taken my responsibility in doing right by my clients to heart. Actually, more appropriately described as "above and beyond". But that is just the way this country boy was raised. I'm thankful in the loyalty and respect I've recieved by this company. What I am suprised about is Yelp. After having worked my tushie off, going to customers homes, doing everything possible to help make things easier, and everything to serve my clients to the highest level...anyone could even hope for, well...not one movement on the Yelp scale. Ha. Yelp is a joke! Algorithms...hmmmm. Truth be told, if you don't pay yelp as a business for,"protection" against rival companies who might muddy the waters with false reviews and nonsense like that. What a joke. So 5 stars for champagne and -5 for Yelp...lol. I earned every review I recieved from my clients, and I'm proud of the work I have done for so many years. Yelp...you simply suck. Over and out.

We were told that some things needed to be fixed, and the cost would be $1080.00 which we paid. The pool is not fixed and the liner was installed incorrectly and the liner ripped. Swim on will not refund our money. Matt, the owner, was never here, but several times he sent a couple of guys to adjust the pool liner. Each time the pool liner was adjusted, and we started filling the pool with water, the liner would pull away from the pool wall. When we notified Matt, we were told to stop filling the pool and someone would be there to adjust the liner. This happened several times. The last time someone came to adjust the liner, we started filling the pool and the liner ripped. There is another hole in the liner on the opposite side. The seam of the liner is incorrectly placed to the side instead of centered like. We paid Swim on $688.88 for the liner alone which is ripped and cannot be used! Matt ultimately offered us $1388.88 which we refused.

We initially interviewed several companies when it was time to refinish our pool and ultimately settled on Sol Pacific due to the fact that they were PebbleTec certified and said they could install the PebbleBreeze finish we wanted (which no other companies had installed before). Everything seemed great at first. He was very responsive through text and the job progressed quickly. I told him from the start that I was willing to upgrade the finish because I DID NOT want bloody feet from the pebbles. He assured me that wouldn't happen. During the job, I noticed that parts of the pool seemed streaky and the finish seemed uneven. He assured me it would look great once water was in the pool. He finished the job on time (end of June 2024) and we had our first pool party. ALL the kids had bloody feet. I emailed him about the bloody feet and the streaky finish and he offered to drain the pool, grind it down to smooth it out more, and pay for the refill of our pool. For these reasons, I gave him two stars. He attempted to fix his mistakes. Everything after this point is zero stars. Long story short over the last two years, I have been trying to make them follow up on their promises but they aren't. I have never been reimbursed for my second pool refill, like he promised. I provided him with multiple water bills, but he told me it was too much money. I'm with Padre Dam. It's expensive. His communication is awful, usually taking several weeks or months to respond and only doing so if I get a bit pushy with him. After ignoring multiple messages from me about the flagstone grout being loose just a couple months after the install, he reached out to ask if a potential client could view my pool. I only agreed to the viewing to get him over here so we could discuss the coping and streak issues. While he was here, he agreed with all my concerns. He eventually (3.5 months and several ignored texts later) sent a crew to fix the coping. They worked hard, but left my yard a mess and their work was mediocre. There are several raised edges, gaps, and thick grout lines. My drip lines are damaged and a very full and extremely heavy trash can full of construction debris still sits on my pool deck! They broke some of my pool tile and tried to stick flagstone in its place, thinking I wouldn't notice. Eventually, due to my complaints, they did find some replacement pool tile to fix the damaged area. I repeatedly asked Kyle to meet me at my residence to discuss my concerns, but instead he came on my property without telling me while I wasn't home to look at it by himself and then told me it all looked fine. The lack of professionalism is unreal and my pool just looks OKAY considering how much money was spent!!! Do not recommend.

After receiving a recommendation for Sol Pacific Pools, we contracted with their company to…read morecompletely rebuild our 34+ year old fiberglass pool. To say we are unhappy with the final results is an understatement and we would warn others to think twice before choosing them for any pool construction. After they came out and measured our pool (incorrectly) we signed a contract and went to their office to pick out our tile, coping and Pebble Sheen. We brought several samples of Travertine coping tiles to our home and realized, due to the coloring of our cement patio and walkways, they did not work. We went back to their office and one of the owners, Kyle Buettgenbach, brought out a coping material that looked perfect with the side tiles we had selected. Because it was a very dark gray, they warned us the coping would get hot in the sun and it would also require a sealer every one to two years. We chose the coping because it achieved the look we wanted and we thought we could deal with an annual or bi-annual sealer being applied. We trusted they were presenting us with good products that would would last for years. During their construction, we discovered our well water was leaving marks on the coping and the tiles were not suitable for bullnosed edges. Kyle came to our house and assured us when the sealer was applied, neither would be an issue. But after the sealer was applied, the problems continued. We were told they had used the wrong sealer and a rep came out to figure out what should have been used. He commented he had never seen their product used on a pool as coping but "thought it would probably work". When the coping was completed, they finished it with the "correct" sealer. They also applied polymeric sand around the coping and spa edges instead of using mastic. When I questioned that it wouldn't last, I was assured they would come back and replace it with another material if there was a problem. When the pool was completed we weren't overly happy with the final result but, with what we thought was the correct sealer, we agreed it was acceptable and made the final payment. About four months later, after receiving 3-4 inches of rain, we found one of the coping tiles chipped, the sealer they applied was completely washed off all of the coping, and the sand compound was washing away from the edges. We took photos of the damages and sent them to Kyle. His response has been that it looked like we or our pool cleaner had dropped something on the tile causing the damage and there was no warranty. He advised us the tile could be repaired but at our cost. He has ignored our requests for him to come to our home to see the overall condition of our pool. Even though he personally presented the coping at their office as an option for our pool, Kyle put the blame on us for selecting a coping that was not a good product without researching it first! He has completely ignored all of our complaints about the coping damages and the finishing materials they used. He has responded by putting the blame on us. We paid Sol Pacific Pools about $37,000 to refinish our pool and, without our ever using it, the pool looks worse than the old one we replaced. Since this started, we have consulted with two pool companies regarding the coping and finishing materials. They independently advised us we have three or four additional tiles that feel like they will probably start peeling away as the first one has. The tiles should never have been marketed as pool coping, and neither man had ever seen a pool finished with polymeric sand instead of mastic. Sol Pacific Pools couldn't be less concerned about the condition of our pool. They are a great company to begin with but when there is a problem with their work or the materials they use, they will treat you like crap. We recommend anyone looking for a reputable pool company to go elsewhere!
