We ordered delivery as soon as they open (11 am) and included 15 percent tip. It took an hour and a half to arrive. Near this spot is a Chinese food restaurant.You can smell the flavors of shallot, ginger, garlic, and chili. As soon as you walk in you can see a glimpse of the chef cooking fast with a combination of oyster sauce, garlic, green onion and soy sauce. The noodles of beef and chicken is mixed into a hot wok that is high temperature and caramelized sugars. I had arrived around 12, to order the lunch special. I got a shrimp lo me into bar was perfectly cooked and had various fragrant spices. It came with a hot and sour soup came with just a right touch of Sichuan pepper.This is a great place to go as it was 8.00 for a soup and a dish that is on the lunch menu. If you are a vegetarian I would not recommend this Chinese restaurant. Overall, the dishes from this restaurant mirror the essence of soy, lemongrass, and ginger. The people were incredibly nice and my Szechuan chicken was the best I've ever had. I asked him to prepare a certain way and it came out exactly that way. I can't wait to get back and try everything else on the menu. It's also in a pretty town with great little shops for shopping. read more

When you walk up to this restaurant it's really nothing to write home about. However, do not judge a book by its cover. The food here is solid and delicious. We've gotten take out from here multiple times (it's really not the kind of place where you dine in) and no one is ever disappointed. This is Chinese comfort food at its finest. Great fried rice, chicken and broccoli, general tso's chicken, spare ribs, lo mein, chicken wings, wonton soup...I could go on but I think you get the picture...oh and the crab rangoon is SO good! They don't skimp on extras like fried wontons and sauces either. They also always give us a little "free" treat with our order and the prices are very reasonable compared to other Chinese take out in the area. Definitely give this place a try! read more

The thing is with this place, is that although the food was okay for the price I got, they came cold and either under flavored, or over flavored. The sweet and sour chicken was basically soggy from how cold it got! Sweet and sour chicken definitely cannot be cold when arriving. Microwaving it will destroy the crunch it has. The sauce was a watery as well. Maybe it was just that day, but the delivery took over 45 minutes! Might check up on here when I don't have any good Chinese food in the area to eat, but I won't be coming back here for a while. read more

Honestly I'd rather eat a can of cat food than waste my money on the filth this place produces. I had lunch today and I feel so sick to my stomach. When I went in to pick up my food the place stunk like grease trap, which they probably haven't cleaned in years. Been ordering from here at least 20 years and feel bad not having reviewed earlier. The people here are really nice front counter all the way down to the delivery guys. Food is excellent, pork fried rice is not greasy like most places. Spicy shrimp is amazing with fresh scallions and onions. Just a take out joint but with so many Chinese food places in the area this one stands out for quality and freshness of the food, kindness of staff, speed of delivery and how far you can stretch a dollar. There was a short period of time a couple years back where the quality fell off and we stopped ordering from here, that is over now. Ordered tonight and could not have been happier. read more

I am very picky about Chinese Food. It has to be perfect or I won't eat it. Sunrise has always been faithful in quality and quantity for over 20 years. Is the best in the North Shore? It's up there in my opinion. I would recommend the Pineapple Chicken for the sweet sour contrast and also boneless spare ribs. Both are great with white rice. Sunrise is EXACTLY what you want when you want fast Chinese take out. It has a huge menu, everything is tasty, and it's cheap. It's not going to win any Michelin stars, but it's spot on for what it is. Friendly staff to boot! I do wish that the chicken with broccoli had smaller cuts of broccoli, and more chicken though. my nieces and the rest of their friends wanted chinese food and uncle sadri ben will go to sun rise chinese food joint in glen head cause i am a great uncle .your typical chinese fast food take out joint with a small seating area but it's mostly take out and delivery here . the menu is the basic with the usual offering from egg rolls, spare ribs, wanton soup , chicken, pork , shrimp, beef entrees , etc. it's funny how almost every chinese food takeout place has the same colorful pictures of each main entee , i assume they all use the same printing company in chinatown . as for the food i just ordered a large wanton soup for me and the rest of the gang had the assorted menu choices , soup was not bad with plenty of big stuff dumplings and from what i was able to see from each container and plate on the dinner table everyone seemed happy with the food.the place looks clean and the guy behind the counter looked really busy with customers and phone orders . read more
