The classes that I attend are led by well trained instructors who carefully monitor the students. The classes are excellent for strength and balance and for all levels. This location is very busy, so it can be challenging to book classes within your membership limits. It appears they are making every effort to solve the issue.

I started out attending private classes with Sharon mid-pandemic and eventually progressed to group classes. Now my weekly favorites are tower class with Sharon and barre class with Andrea. You really get the feeling that teaching is their calling and they love what they do. They have a way of making "hard work" fun and really can read - and if necessary - adjust your posture or poses to maximize the impact on a muscle group. It's almost like Sharon has a sixth sense for those things! Any time I go to a class it boosts my energy and spirits -- and any time I miss a class, I feel like there's been a loss to my general well being. I can feel my body changing and strengthening for the better each week and I'm truly glad that I made the choice to join the Pilates-Barre studio!

Both are trained rigorously in what you might call classical Pilates, a direct line from Joe Pilates; but being different people, Amy and John bring complementary skills to their teaching, like two sides of the same coin. Both are highly observant and have what seems like x-ray vision; Amy tends to be most aware of nuances of form, and John is more athletic in his approach. I like working with both of them. I've never practiced yoga before but my daughters and I have been very happy with the experience so far. Phoenix is very sensitive to physical, and intellectual difficulties and adapts the class to our needs, breaking down the instructions so we can keep up and get the most out of our time with her. Our last session was a restorative practice which left us all feeling relaxed and de-stressed. It's a great, healthy way to spend time with my girls and we're so glad we found this studio! The atmosphere is calming and peaceful and fees very reasonable. As I said I'm no expert but I would definitely recommend Phoenix!

It really is special.  I would consider myself somewhat of a "yogi nomad" never really finding that studio that resonated with me...however I've found my home. Seymour & the Valley is blessed to have this offering to it's community. The teachers are loving, personable, knowledgeable,and compassionate. They provide caring instructions accompanied by healing words to guide you through your practice, meditation, self awareness, and spiritual journey. I've taken classes with Phoenix, Charles & Rebecca and each has uniquely elevated my practice. The studio is warm and very inviting with a max capacity of roughly 12 in studio 1 . I felt very comfortable the moment I walked in the door. (Btw please remove your shoes when you walk in.) I very much enjoyed the creativity and personal touch each teacher brings to the mat and appreciate the fine balance of personal attention the teachers offer up. The decor is very simplistic and the bay windows shine in just enough to cover the floor in natural light. The pricing is more than reasonable compared to other studios in Fairfield County and the caliber of teachers far surpass any instructor I've experienced at the Edge, LA Fitness or Planet Fitness. Additionally, I wanted to mention the music. Two thumbs way up on the music selections the teachers are bringing into the classes....eclectic, soothing and up lifting. If your a guy who has been considering yoga to improve your flexibility, mental health or physical strength and is apprehensive to step into a studio for whatever reason....this is the spot for you.
