Although I didn't end up getting a car with Sun Toyota, Lee Sawicki displayed exemplary service in extending consistent and thorough communication on all of my concerns, was very transparent and was the most dedicated sales rep I've spoken to in the months of discussing deals with Sun Toyota. He is an outstanding gentleman and if any curious customer is reading this; despite the mixed experience I had at Sun Toyota, I think he'd be the most likely to take care of anyone at this dealership after talking with a large handful of people over many months. I found a car yesterday but I was confident Lee would have found me something had I had more time to decide, as I'd only recently been put into contact with him. He easily deserves 5 stars and if anyone is desiring a 5 star experience with a rep who doesn't include unnecessary warranties and will try to work with your budget at this major dealership, he is your rep. I hope management takes note of how he performs and chooses him for a leadership role; because if my experiences had been this way from the start, I likely would have gotten a car a long time ago. The great service they had then seems to be missing now. We were met with arrogance when the salesman said there was no such vehicle at their location. We looked it up online. And today I looked again. Still listed. I am not sure what their deal is, but I bought my new Corolla from a different dealership. I felt trapped into a deal I should have backed away from two weeks afterwards. Since the purchase, I failed to see all the red flags. I have always owned Toyota cars since 1999 and I love the Toyota quality automobiles. I traded in my 2016 Corolla LE for a 2022 RAV4 XLE. My Corolla was paid off and I put additional $3000 down and my credit score was at 800 plus. Toyota wouldn't finance and I had to except an outside lender, which I now triple regret. I do not honestly think that Toyota dealerships are all the same because I have dealings with them in several locations and states but Sun Toyota stinks of corruption on the high scale. I refuse to get any service work done there because I've learned to compare the exact procedure at other reputable places and I find the price gauging is in the hundreds of dollars extra. Purchased a vehicle from Sun Toyota back in February. I came to the dealership to purchase a used vehicle. I already had my own financing in place, and my main goal was to purchase a used vehicle and negotiate the best price. When I arrived, the dealership had a good selection of used vehicles. The pricing on the internet for the vehicles was lower than what they tried to sell the car to me for. When I mentioned the internet pricing, I was told that I had to finance through them to get the price. I had them run the financing but was still unable to get the vehicle for the price as advertised, even using their financing. I ended up purchasing the car and they made me pay for their warranty and an additional warranty. They screwed up the numbers so badly I threatened to leave. They sent a higher-up salesman over to explain to me how they came to the number when I didn't agree to what he explained because it didn't make sense. He agreed to my deal and left, never to be seen again during the deal. When I went to the back, the salesman's math stayed the same, and I was told that he was no longer there that evening and the guy in the back didn't know anything about what we discussed. We worked on the deal a bit more and they were able to lower the cost a bit about $750 of the $1,500 the salesman added along the way. So I made the deal. I was unable to drive the vehicle home that evening, and I scheduled it to be delivered to my home a couple of hours away on the weekend. When the vehicle arrived, there was a large chip in the windshield. I immediately showed it to the salesman who delivered it. When I pointed it out, he said they would fix it, and there was already a work order in progress for the repair. When I tried contacting Sun Toyota the next week I couldn't get in touch with the salesman who i had worked with. After two weeks I finally was able to talk to someone about it and they told me it was not their responsibility to fix it. They set me up with their repair group and I ended up having to use my insurance to complete the repair. After doing so my insurance premiums increased $100 a month. I know the chip occurred during delivery and they would not repair it and its costing me additional money every month. I would suggest taking your business elsewhere. If you do go there, get anything they say verbally to you in writing. Just my suggestion. read more

I just bought a car from this dealership on 7/17/26 and they are an absolute scam. I tried to write a google review but it wouldn't let me. I have been given nothing but the run around now that I have an issue with the contract agreement. Cesar Hernandez is an absolute con artist who use power-booking as his sales technique. I've called and texted the sales rep Chris who worked with him and he never responds. I would never send anyone to buy a car from these people. My family has been loyal Toyota customers for many years. We have purchased multiple vehicles over time and have always trusted the brand and its commitment to respect, integrity, and customer care. Unfortunately, an incident last week has left me deeply disappointed and concerned. I was in the process of finalizing a deal for a 2026 RAV4. Although the initial negotiation did not conclude due to pricing differences, I later received a call with a payment offer that was close to what I was looking for. Under normal circumstances, the deal should have been finalized that Sunday (06/28/2026). However, the process was abruptly derailed due to discriminatory treatment I experienced at the dealership. While discussing the details, I spoke Spanish. At that moment, Zack, a representative at the dealership, told me that I was "not allowed to speak Spanish, only English." This statement was not only disrespectful, it was discriminatory. No customer should ever be told they cannot speak their own language, especially in a country where millions of people communicate in Spanish every day. His comment made me feel singled out, unwelcome, and judged based on my language and cultural background rather than treated as a valued customer. Because of this discriminatory behavior, the deal was not completed, and I left the dealership feeling humiliated and deeply disappointed. This experience does not reflect the values Toyota claims to uphold, and it certainly does not align with the respect my family has shown the brand for years. What a headache. And such a love/hate relationship- because there's something funny going on there....wait til you hear this... I bought a Jaguar and a warranty. I went to service a month later and they told me I had no warranty - then they called me months later and told me to return it. When I went there, they parked a vehicle behind mine and a bunch of salesmen stood around it so I couldn't leave. The executive manager basically told me I wasn't getting my money or a car. So I put more money down and bought a Yukon because I was scared and needed a vehicle as a single working mom with lots of doctors appointments ... a week later the air stopped working so I took it in- Then hours later a "manager" called with food in his mouth and said it was not covered and I could not get the vehicle back ever (all my stuffs in it). They did not offer a new car. They did not offer my money back or anything. We missed two baseball practices and church and a week of work. I have begged for documentation and I've gotten nothing. Insurance and the car payment bills keep coming. I am absolutely heartbroken. It's all crickets on their end. What's crazy is everyone knows they're known for this. Huge racket. It has been 3 months and I still don't have my license plate. Tldr; 1) Sales rep was top quality but finance team has been very difficult-- it has been almost 2 months and I still don't have the license plate 2) If you live out-of-state, do not buy from this dealership as they don't know how to process out-of-state Fuller review: - Despite paying for the registration/licensing/tagging fees, it has been 3 months since I bought the car and I still don't have my license plates. For a used car you can't do the registering yourself, but the point still stands on why I paid for this if the work doesn't get completed after all this time. It is a huge time sink -- I've had more than 50 emails back and forth, and on 3 different occasions I reached out to ask about the status, and only them would they tell me last minute that there is an extra step that needs to get done (so if it were left to them, I would have had multiple expired license plates). I am now on my 3rd temporary plate. They once again recently got back to me, only to tell me that they need new material to complete the registration. And they miss the small details, too: I asked them to send me the tracking # for the license plate and they just did not send it after saying that they would on Saturday. - They added ~$4k in extra stuff like gap insurance and I had to call and spend a whole lot of time to get rid of that... they were very difficult to reach. read more

Do not waste your time going to this dealership. I communicated very clearly over hours of texts and phone calls about my budget, financing already being secured, and the fact that I did not want to waste my or my partner's time driving over 2 hours unless there was a realistic deal in place. Their stated policy is that they cannot communicate pricing over the phone, which in practice resulted in significantly different pricing and mandatory "accessory" fees being introduced in person. After hearing and acknowledging my offer I was told multiple times that while pricing could not be finalized over the phone, they believed we could come to a reasonable agreement if I came in person. However, upon arriving, I was told by the same representative that my offer was "ridiculous," followed by the introduction of mandatory "accessory" fees that were never disclosed beforehand. The final out-the-door pricing came in almost $10,000 over the listed price of the 2024 Santa Fe advertised online in the low $30s. After the fact, it became clear that the advertised online price includes conditional discounts (such as military and student incentives), which are not applicable to all buyers and significantly misrepresents the true starting price for many customers. I also spoke directly with a manager and clearly communicated my budget beforehand. He assured me that they would "do their best" to reach an agreement and work something out. Once on site, there was no meaningful effort made to meet the discussed number or negotiate in good faith. In addition, previously discussed incentives (including reimbursement for travel costs such as gas and a Visa gift card) were never provided. The vehicle also had open recalls, and the dealership was unable to clearly confirm whether those issues had been resolved prior to sale. During the test drive, we also noticed a vibration in the brakes. Despite having a service department onsite, there was no effort made to inspect or address the issue. At no point did I feel my time, prior communication, or agreed-upon expectations were respected. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to take their business elsewhere. read more

I bought a 2008 Toyota Solara that was purchased brand new at Sun Toyota. The original owner took it there for service until it was sold with 75,000 miles in 2025. You could see they replaced the cabin filter or cleaned it once at 30,000 miles, this is what it looked like at 75,000 miles and this is the only dealership that served this car since it was new. I messaged the dealer, but they were unable to accept pictures so I figured I would post it here. I don't normally write reviews but this place had to have been begging for a 1-star review. I recently inquired about terminating my lease on my Tundra 6 months early and financing a 4Runner. Just a simple SR5 is all I need. After repetitive phone calls/text messages and even offers to fill up my gas tank and give me a visa gift card if the deal didn't work out, I decided to make my way up there. I was greeted by Gabby, who was great and went along on a test drive with me. The car was perfect. After figuring out the payoff for my Tundra and them paying the remaining payments, they came back with the figures to finance the 4Runner. Devin hit me with a $79,000 out the door price tag. For an SR5, are you kidding me? That would equal around $1400+ per month in payments. Then he came back with $65k out the door which is still absolutely insane for an SR5. Needless to say I packed up my stuff and left. Didn't get the Visa gift card and tank of gas like I was promised. My family is a Toyota family and after this, none of us will be visiting Sun Toyota in the future. read more

Got a car from here on 05/19/26 and they scammed me. We agreed to 33,500 with a 4.79 interest rate. We signed all the paperwork and looked back the following morning (we left there at 10 pm) and the numbers did not match what we had agreed upon. They changed the numbers to 34,680 with a 6.09 interest rate without notification. We had already been pre approved through our bank with a 5% interest rate so we would never have accepted it had we known that they changed it behind our backs. We went in to have the issue resolved and they said nobody could help us. Do not buy from here they are shady and lie. read more

Drove 1400 miles for an FJ cruiser all on a lie/lies from the salesman. "Hawaii Mike" who probably isn't even Hawaiian lied about no rust, lied about the condition of the vehicle, brake lines were done wrong, TPMS sensors were bad, brake calipers were replaced because the old one seized due to rust (this was all verified by an independent mechanics inspection) the vehicle was crap after being assured it was"wonderful" and "had zero issues". I went into Sun Toyota dealership with the intention of trading in my vehicle and exploring my options. While they did appraise my car, the process quickly went downhill. Before showing me any vehicles, discussing pricing, or even asking which car I was interested in, they attempted to pull my credit. The finance manager immediately launched into a generic speech about my loan being "upside down" and insisted on a down payment--without having worked any numbers, identified a vehicle, or presented an actual deal. At no point did they structure an offer, show me options, or attempt to make a deal work. Instead, it felt like they were more focused on pre-qualifying me for their convenience rather than actually helping me purchase a car. The manager was incredibly rude and the staff was unhelpful & pushy, they also specifically told me that when they checked my credit it would be a soft pull and not affect my credit... when I checked credit karma afterward they did in fact do a hard pull that brought my credit down a little. I did not purchase a car with them (thank God) so why do a hard pull on someone's credit? Overall a terrible experience. My 2012 Prius needed some maintenance. I've had two full services here so far and everything has been taken care of. Sat was a very busy day but I had a headlight out and didn't want to drive around without the main light out. Otherwise I would have opted to come back during the week day. I worked with Adam and he was very helpful. He reviewed my past history and all the services I had completed to check to see what was missing. We got it all taken care of and I can definitely feel and notice the difference after having the tires rotated and an alignment done. Some ppl don't like dealerships but we've always kept up with all of the maintenance over the years at Toyota. Although it may seem expensive it has been worth it. With over 200k miles I am very happy having the maintenance and repairs done here. I brought my Southeastern Guide Dog in training with me and Adam was kind enough to have me wait in a smaller quieter space. We waited about 3 hours and then I was able to get a ride and leave it to be picked up later. I would recommend (if you can) dropping your vehicle off and getting it later. I usually do this but again since I really wanted the headlight replace to avoid a traffic ticket I opted to wait. The waiting area is big and has several types of chairs and tables available (should you want to work or bring a computer/charge your phone). They have an area to get drinks and a tv too. I usually enjoy talking with others who are waiting and learn a great deal about the area too. read more

But the problem is I already filled up my tank so I literally got nothing. Long story short these people don't care about customer service and they don't care about your time. I drove over an hour and a half to get here only to find out that the car that I was coming to see has sold the night before. I set an appointment and no one called me to tell me save my gas time and money before driving all the way out here. $12,000 added to the sticker price in fees and taxes. Was told that that I could not decline the Sun Protection Package due to it having to be applied to everyone or it's discriminatory. Lot sticker price was more than the internet listed price. Decided to do some research and found that all of that is in violation of federal law under the FTC CARS rule. I went in for an oil change on 4/5/2025 and technician Derek A damaged my car while driving it into the service bay. I was told they would "make it right" for me but they only comped the oil change and repaired the damages. I needed new tires and asked for a discount based on the inconvenience of having my original car part damaged and having to arrange my own ride to/from Toyota while they dealt with repairing their own fault. All I asked was for $200 to be taken off from my $1200 repair cost for the negligence and inconvenience. The "management" declined my request - they never once reached out to me to make it right and went solely through their service advisor Keith L. Terrible customer service, bad experience and insensitive management at Sun Toyota. *Update* still waiting for my repairs but the service manager Danny R helped me out to make it right. Buying my truck was great. But they will dangle a $300 referral fee for getting them business and then never pay you for it. I've requested it multiple times by email, phone, and in person twice. I even filled out a Tex form for It twice and still no check. Everyone points the finger at someone else who is the reason I haven't received it. And the times I was there in person the person who dropped the ball Wasn't there to fix it that day. So if they offer one. Don't expect to get it. Hubs found a lease trade in Kia K5 here so we made the drive from Tampa to see and test drive the car. Sales folks were very nice and we didn't feel pressured at all. Test drove the car however it really had bad wear and tear and for a 2022 at $28k I wasn't willing to budge on a new car rather than used.
