I brought my 7-year-old child in for a scheduled dental treatment where nitrous oxide (laughing gas) was planned to be used. Upon arrival, I was informed for the first time that parents are not allowed in the treatment room. This policy had not been communicated to me beforehand during scheduling or in any paperwork. As a parent, I expressed that I was uncomfortable with my 7-year-old undergoing treatment and sedation without my presence. I made it very clear that I was not questioning the dentist's professional ability and was simply advocating for my child's safety and comfort. Unfortunately, the dentist responded defensively and the conversation became unnecessarily confrontational. Rather than calmly explaining the policy or working toward a solution, there was significant pushback when I voiced a reasonable concern as a parent. Because I no longer felt comfortable proceeding under those circumstances, I made the decision to stop the appointment and leave before treatment began. My child will be receiving care at a different dental office. I understand that every practice may have its own policies, but transparency and respectful communication with parents are essential--especially when treating children. Policies regarding parental presence during pediatric treatment and sedation should be clearly communicated prior to the appointment so families can make informed decisions. I hope the practice reviews how these situations are handled moving forward. I would appreciate having someone from office management contact me to discuss this experience. read more

DONT COME HERE! BEWARE! My daughter got braces put on and I was to pay out of pocket for them on a monthly bases but then I got a secondary insurance so I told them to put a pause on my payments and we never made any appointments because we were waiting to see if the new insurance would cover them. Well they continued to charge me every month and then my new insurance started making $500 payments but they said I STILL had to make my payments until I was fulled paid off regardless if my insurance was covering it or not!! How does that make any sense !? Plus it was so absolutely impossible to get ahold of the ortho side for months ! So we haven't gone at all since the initial appointment and I've been charged for MONTHS now. Don't come here. Worst place ever! read more

Went to this dentist in hopes they could get my daughter's cavity filled. She has really bad anxiety and the previous one couldn't do it on laughing gas. After first cleaning waited about two months for appointment and the day before they tell me they are comfortable with using sedation with her meds. However, they did ask her primary doctor for a med clearance and the primary cleared her for sedation with the meds she was on. She would have to be off meds or do it with only numbing, not even laughing gas. They would rather do anesthesia which sure but insurance won't approve unless you try other things first. He won't even try to do the oral sedation to see if she could handle it. And fine it's his practice why make me wait two months to tell me this and keep my kid in pain. They also called me the afternoon on the day before another kids procedure and tried to cancel because they didn't have everything to clear her but didn't ask me for all they needed. Why not ask me a head of time for the info you need. Overall both were hassles. I do not recommend them. read more

I have been bringing my daughter to this office for 14 years. I called on Wednesday to schedule a cleaning for my daughter. The person I spoke with stated it would be $89 for a cleaning for a 15 year old. I went in this afternoon for her appointment with the expectation to pay $89. They have this program that they wanted me to sign up for which I declined and just wanted to lay the out of pocket cost. So she asked someone, whom I guess was the manager what the out of pocket cost would be. She says as of today our prices have gone up and for her cleaning it would be $499. A basic cleaning for almost $500 no thank you. I walked out of there and you should too. They don't care about patient care they want their money. I had 3 children being seen the same morning and I don't know if the front desk lady was in a bad mood but she had no customer service this morning. I checked in one kid and she gave me the paperwork to fill out and moved on to the next client when I wasn't even done checking in all my kids. Then she wouldn't even make eye contact or at least apologize for being so rude and skipping me TWICE, because once she checked in my other two kids she moved on to the next client without telling me we were good to go and to go wait. Then I went to turn in the paperwork and she just took them without even acknowledging me. She just kept talking to her coworker. 100% do not recommend. I would like to share my experience today. My 3 children have been coming to this dentist office for many years. The last few occasions have been much different. I understand with Covid going on we are asked to wait in our vehicle. Today, after sitting in my car in 103 degree weather for 45 minutes (15 minutes after our scheduled appointment) as I went to exit my car and go inside since I saw many others enter the office to include - a mom and daughter enter about 20 min prior and a family of 6 enter at least 15 minutes prior (when our appointment was scheduled for). As I approached the front door of the office the front desk lady exited and said she was coming out to get my daughter. She said that only she can go inside. I explained that my 3 y/o had her second accident due to being stuck in the car for so long. She said I could take her into the restroom if I wanted to. As I need the office, the mom and daughter and the family of 6 were all sitting in the waiting area. I am not going to ask why I was asked to wait in my car while others were allowed to sit and wait inside although when I arrived the office was completely empty. After I took the 3 y/o to the restroom I approached the front desk and asked why I was told to stay outside while others are allowed to sit inside. I demanded my daughter to be brought out and we will never return to this office. read more

First time I called to schedule appointments for my children during normal hours I received a voicemail and had to leave a message asking for a call back. I never received a call back however tried again a few days later and was able to schedule an appointment almost 3 weeks out for my two kids. I received a text message this morning (2 days out from the appointments) asking for me to confirm the appointment, which I did. Then at 3:30pm today I get a text saying an appointment is cancelled. I called to ask if one or both of my kids were cancelled and was told both because the doctor is not going to be in the office. Don't bother Waikato g your time with this office! Dentists, assistants and ortho staff have good social skills but it's the girls at the front desk.. After my kids being patients for years we are extremely dissatisfied with the front desk customer service. They are rude and quite incompetent to say the least. They schedule appointments and when you arrive they have the audacity to tell you your appointment was cancelled because your chart was inactive. They don't even call you to let you know your appointment was cancelled on their on own behalf. They try to tell you that you wouldn't understand how dental schedules work as if it's complicated. Having a bachelors in healthcare administration, that was the dumbest thing they could've told me. Office manager does not return phone calls. They have preferences in patients and I have a great examples. When I called and gave them my info, they did not have any appointments until a month out, but when I called later that day and asked for an appointment without giving them my info, they surprisingly had several that week! Another example; we arrived 20 minutes before our appointment that was at 8:30 and still waited 2 hours in the lobby for a dental check up on a 1 year old, all while another family arrived at 8:25 that had the same time appointment as us and they were taken in right away. They don't have good explanations as to why they do the crap they pull on many patients. This is my second bad review but hopefully they don't delete this one. read more

Waited an hour and 15 min for an exam and cleaning. They booked a waiting room full of people for the same time slot. As a customer service employee in the health care field you do NOT let your patients wait an hour without saying something to them. this was the WORST customer service experience ever! We haven't been there in a year and the GIRL in front didn't even bother to confirm any demo or recent health history information with ANYONE. for all they know my son could have health concerns. Usually my husband takes him to the dentist so this was my first time in this particular office. they didn't even bother to find out who I was. I MOSTLY upset that they didn't even acknowledge us and the blatant disrespect for my time. 3 exam chairs in 1 room was also disturbing. That cant be sanitary when all drills are going and spit flying. I would NOT say they are trusted dental practice when they couldn't even greet us or confirm my son was actually a patient. 3 ladies sat at the desks and did nothing to ensure the patients felt welcomed. oh ya and 1 guy was chatting with the girl in the front about faxing something personal. NEVER EVER going back and ill NEVER recommend this place. Stay away if your getting your kids braces. After we had the consultation they said it would cost me one price if paid in full. So the day came and daughter was getting her braces installed and the rude lady said I had to pay 300.00 dollars more because I was paying with CareCredit. No where in the paperwork did that say that. She also claimed she never said that. This was my second run in with payment issues with her. She doesn't have a clue what she is doing. My three kids have been going for 8 years. After this treatment of braces we will be finding another place. This office seems to schedule as many patients as possible during the day and it is not uncommon to wait over an hour plus to be seen by a hygienist. I have spent thousands of dollars between my 3 kids- braces, cavities, sealants and I cannot comprehend how every time we are in the office we are just waiting and waiting. I was told they have an anesthesiologists that works with my insurance so I drove further away to take my daughter there for an evaluation. They proceeded to clean her teeth without asking so they could charge my insurance. Then only after did they tell me that they can't work with my insurance for the anesthesiologists. Then I was told I was pre approved for a oral sedation. The day before the appointment I am told I now have to pay 430.00 out of pocket. They have wasted over 3 months of my time to fix my daughters teeth. I was really impressed with this Dentist and the whole office staff. We were there at 6:50am for a 7am appointment and the entire staff was very friendly... who the heck is so friendly being at work that early? Well they are! We were seen quickly, my daughter was told everything being done before they started, the techs were very patient with her and the Dentist was very thorough. My poor daughter is a teenager and has very poor teeth but they didn't judge or make her feel bad. She needed some pretty urgent things done so they made time to do it the same day so she can get some relief. I was extremely impressed with the office and although we are moving 5 hours away to another state, I will make sure we keep seeing this dentist when we are back in town. They even are working with me to get some awesome pricing on things not being covered by insurance. My only complaint is that the parents need to wait in the waiting room when the kids are getting fillings or anything done other than a cleaning. I'm sure there is a good reason why but I wish they would make the waiting area a bit more comfortable if parents have to wait for a few hours. At least offer some free WiFi to allow us parents to distract ourselves from the hard chairs, screaming kids, cartoons on TV and that rude parent sleeping with his shoes off next to us (yeah that really happened but it's not their fault people have no manners). I could tell I wasn't the only parent wondering why we couldn't go back so it would be super nice to be told a reason why or to post a sign explaining the reasoning. But now I know for next weeks visit to plan to be there for several hours so I will at least bring a book. read more

I have 3 children that attend the Avondale Location. They scheduled my oldest for dental work since scheduling they have rescheduled 2 more times and he has yet to be seen. Two of my children were scheduled for surgery for 8 and 9. Then I get a text message a few days before app telling me there appointments were at 7 and 8. So I call and they sorry conflict in schedule. Then The day before surgery no one called me to confirm the surgery. Keep in mind the office closes at 4pm. I called at 345 and I said so first you change the appointment then you don't even call to confirm the day before. Are my children still having surgery? Lady put me on hold for 5 min. Comes back and says yes we will see you at 7. Upon arrival. We weren't called back till 745. Then at 8:15 we are told we can reschedule because the oxygen machine wasn't properly working. Mind you my husband took the time off 2 weeks ago. Then we get to the desk to reschedule and I said to my husband I think we are just going to go back to the old dentist. Then the lady says oh well you can stay and we will do the procedures In 20 min. 815 they take my 4 year old back and it is now 1015 and the 4 year old is done. In that time her treatment went from 5 to 12 teeth. Half way through a lady comes in and says ok they are starting on your 4 year old, when she was already asleep for over an hour. Clearly this staff don't communicate. Poor scheduling department. Poor poor poor! It's now 1030 & we've been here since 7. Our other child is back in surgery. Get it together seriously update - 1135 In the car and as my husband is carrying out 1 daughter and I carry the other on. The lady at the desk says can 1 of you comeback in, I said for what? She was hollering and they wanted to strap her down and I was not allowed back there with her...Who? Not my child. So when switching to a better dentist that was more patient and understanding I requested copies of the records not realizing the new dentist could get them and they tried to charge me $70. For my child's own records. When I told her that was ridiculous she said, "Well you have Access insurance through the state so it's not like you paid for any of the work." Excuse me? I do not have state insurance! I paid all of my co-pays and I have insurance paid for through my employer, but regardless when is it their place to remind anyone who paid for what? So disrespectful. We have been bring our son here since he was 1 and he's currently 3 years old. They staff is always friendly and helpful and love how they treat the younger patients. My son loves going here and loves the balloon and water bottle full of dental goodies he gets at every visit! He also loves the token that he can use to redeem before we leave for a prize. Wait time has never been longer then 15 minutes but we also always chose the first appointment of the day. Wow, if I could give 0 stars I would. So as of today it has been a week since I was in this office with my daughter. The girl checking me out said, "We will call you tomorrow to schedule the tooth repair; first, we will see if any charges can be waived due to warranty." I was very appreciative, as I was expecting to pay out of pocket regardless. Tomorrow came and went, and here we are a week later. I just called the office today since I figured they'll never ever call me - tomorrow is a hell of a difference from one week. Anyway, when I called I was put on hold for 12 minutes only to be told that because my daughter chipped her tooth during an activity, it would not be covered nor waived, all out of pocket. So I ask, "why wouldn't you tell me this last week? why make me wait until God knows when to let me know that it wasn't covered? I told you exactly how she chipped it when I could have easily lied and I was fully prepared to pay whatever last week, so why give me hope and waste my time?" During this whole experience with them, even with notes in front of them, they can't even tell me why I brought my daughter to them. "How'd she break her tooth?" Me: "It should be in the notes you say are right in front of you becausw i explained this multiple time to multiple people during our visit." As if waiting for an hour and 10 minutes for an appointment is nothing, your time is nothing, and your child loses out on care. I'm livid that they didn't care to seal the broken tooth edge, but as I told them, I'd much rather pay for quality of care. I'll give my daughter the care she deserves elsewhere. read more

I was actually referred out to this office for my son's oral sedation from Tiny Teeth. The dentist was actually quite nice. However, the front office staff was a completely different story. They don't seem to care about the customer service aspect what so ever. Instead of offering to call and get an approval done faster through my son's insurance, I was the one to do it and spent two weeks doing this. Well I have finally got the approval and mind you the oral sedation is to do an extraction on my son's tooth, which is obviously urgent in order to avoid the further spread of infection. Well this morning I called to advise them that approval had gone through and the first date they can do is July 25 at 9am. Frankly, this is quite upsetting and disappointing. If this were considered urgent I would think that they would make exceptions of some sort to get this procedure done as quickly as possibly. Obviously, this is not the case at this point all I can do is wait this is the 2nd dentist office that I will be sure never to come to due to the poor front staff and since obviously they can't seem to prioritize properly as well.
