I hate long winded reviews so I'll keep it simple. I own a Mercedes. I like my car. It's a nice car. The only thing I don't like is my head unit. It's just not giving me what I want. I went to Best Buy. Their install team was afraid of my car and the sales guy was anything but helpful. It breaks down to paying double for a product that doesn't meet my needs and then trusting a newbie install guy to not F-up my car. Um.....NOPE! I read about Sun Valley Stereo here on yelp. I went in and spoke to Ryan. He had EVERYTHING I wanted and at half the price of Best Buy. I set my appointment for my install and came back a few days later. Install was quick, and painless. I was given very bad advise by Handcrafted Audio on what audio equipment I should use for the audio on my Harley Ultra Classic. After being frustrated, I decided to go to Sun Valley Stereo, within a couple of hours they straightened the entire audio system out and it was very affordable. I had a very pleasant and positive experience working with Sun Valley Stereo and Ryan! Seeing all the reviews with them, I called them to get a quote on a radio install, steering wheel module install/manual program, and back up camera. The quote was really great and the same after everything was done, MUCH better than the quotes from Best Buy and other competitors. Being an impatient person, I wanted to get the install done asap and they were willing to work with my schedule. The day comes and I drop the car, they tell me it will probably start around 10am and finish sometime in the afternoon (est 2-3pm). They tell me that pervious experience with my car model took from store open until 2pm. Fast forward to afternoon, I get a call around 1-1:30pm saying it was ready for pick up! So props to finishing the job FASTER than anticipated! I came and picked up the car and the install on everything looks spot on and as if they never took the interior apart! The product looks like it was made to be part of the car and all functionality and quality surpassed my expectations! Nothing was damaged and everything from the quote till picking up my car was professional and efficient. Even the little details like USB and microphone location was well thought out, better than my previous experience with Best Buy (which was also good). Even my old equipment was neatly organized in my trunk and my manual/controller was ready for me when I first sat in the car! A little effort goes a long way and they are prime examples of this! I brought in my own equipment to be installed and got a great quote, I was told that the labor costs would be cheaper if you bought the equipment from them so definitely consider buying their products for an overall already great price! They have a lifetime warranty on their work so that brings me relief. Get this, my SO wanted to get something adjusted on her car while I was picking up mine, she was struggling with it because she didn't have the right tool and one of the pro installers came out and gave us a hand! How can it get better than that?! The people in here are great! Trust all the numerous positive reviews, I'm typically super cautious and consider even the few negative reviews. I worry if some reviews are fake! I took the chance based on the other reviews and they are accurate and this company is legit! Came here because of the great reviews to have a custom box and amp installed from a previous vehicle. Customer service was off the charts, the work was A++ quality. Everybody I talked too from the owner to the guru of installs over there were top shelf very professional and pleasant. I was scared because I have been to several places where after install my bumper and paint was all scratched up from them dragging cords, speaker boxes and equipment over top of the bumper. Arrive early one time and saw it with my own eyes. So I started to do the installs myself. I am new to the area so didnt have any friends to help me but fortunately I went with my instincts this time.When you buy as many cars as I have over the years that are somewhat expensive and you love loud music you want to be able to leave your car and get it back the way you left it. I would reccomend them to anybody and I'm kinda hard to please and I am laid back but when I see something that is jacked up, the irritation comes out. Anyway Sun Valley is A1 in my book. I had just bought a new truck that was so basic that it had no stereo deck installed. I had a deck in a car my wife and I planned to get rid of. Best Buy, Audio Express, and Fry's Electronics all quoted over $200 and jerked my chain concerning install appointments and kept trying to see a new deck as opposed to just installing the one I had. These guys are great! After catching Audio Express(Gilbert) doing a burnout in one of my cars after an alarm install, I was leery of car audio stores in general. I gave this store a shot after the great reviews here and was not disappointed. Ryan is a great salesperson who helped me choose the right alarm for my car and even gave me caveats when I wanted to add more sensors instead of making a quick buck. I just brought my car to this place this morning for installing my LCD Pioneer 4100nex into my Toyota Camry 2007. Got the job done in about 45 minutes which is surprising. I wanted an upgrade to my stock stereo without changing the head unit. The rep at sun valley was the only one that didn't try to sell me a bunch of things I didn't need. He simply suggested an alpine power pack with 4 decent alpine speakers. The price for the entire package wasn't the cheapest I could get installed, but I looked at the reviews and settled purchasing and installing through Sun Valley. What they gave me sounded much better than my stock speakers and it didn't break the bank. The installation was also very clean. About 7 months later I had an issue with the stereo where I was getting some interference and a speaker seemed to drop out a bit. I brought it back to them and within 30 minutes they replaced my power pack with no hassle at all. I have had stereo work done at other places and when I have had issues, it was always a hassle to get anything fixed. I am thankful to the other reviewers here for helping me make the right pick. I hate to be a blemish on a solidly favorable list of reviews. That must be why I waited 7 months to write this. But my experience wasn't that great. Yes the business model is good. No attempt at all at overselling. And the selection is a short and sweet list of economical and and excellent equipment. The markup with installation is reasonable. The problem I had was with the installation in my 2010 Outlander. The driver door pioneer speaker sounded either loose or blown. I live in Buckeye so bringing it back was a bit of a hassle. I was told, upon further inspection that nothing was wrong. After trying to live with it for a couple of months, I bit the bullet, got good instructions and removed the door panel myself to find that a door wiring harness was laying across one side of the speaker. I secured it away from the speaker. Problem solved. After a few months, the new pioneer deck (which is awesome) started rattling in the dash and looking a little lopsided. I removed the dash plate and in minutes secured the deck evenly and solidly. The moral here is that a little TLC goes a long way and I'm not sure that every installer is going to give it that little extra effort. read more

This was one of my first times shopping for electronics at a real, local store (I am a fan of bargain hunting on the internets, where i don't have to interact with real live salespeople). Turns out all I needed was a new cable which they replaced and charged me $15 dollars for! No labor. No charge to figure out what was wrong and the people there were SUPER nice. For 40+ years I have done my own installations so I can say with certainty that Sun Valley Stereo did it right and in fact did a better job than I ever could have. Just finished getting my new car stereo installed. Couldn't be happier! I came in last week looking for a specific head unit for my car. Ryan told me that the unit was back ordered across the country and that they were hoping to get a shipment this week and he promised to call me when they came in. Well he was a man of his word and gave me a call. The install time was so much quicker than I am used to for a car stereo shop. All told I was in and out in about an hour, maybe even a little less. The whole time Ryan was chatting with me while I was in the waiting room, giving me tips on the new unit. Ryan and his crew installed my amp and sub I had purchased elsewhere. Ford Rangers have small cabs and I had the installer remove some parts behind the seat to make room for the equipment. If you are thinking about getting anything upgraded in your car you NEED to go to Sun Valley first!!! I recently had a system installed in my 2013 STI. The only thing i knew i wanted was a double din touch screen unit. As far as the rest of it, i had no idea. I just wanted the sound to be clean and clear. Ryan walked me through some different options and they came up with a great sounding system. They built a custom 10" box that utilized the corner space. As for the rest of the installation.....Super clean, 100%. Here's the best part....When they were installing the amp under the seat they scratched the plastic gas release lever. They could have not said a word about it and i may have not noticed it for a while, but Ryan pointed it out and had the part on order before i even picked up my car. Please do yourself a favor and go see Ryan and the guys / gals at Sun Valley. You will drive out of there a happy customer.
