** *Worst Head Spa Experience Ever -- Stay Away* I tried Sunday Head Spa for the first (and last) time yesterday and would never recommend this place to anyone. I've had countless head spa treatments at various places, and this was by far the worst -- and somehow double the price of anywhere else. The person doing my service felt completely untrained, like it was her very first day. The touch was so light I could barely feel anything, even after asking her to press harder. There was no real massage or acupressure -- just a vague brushing over my scalp with no technique. At times she moved my head from side to side so roughly that it jolted me out of relaxation, and she actually dropped my head onto the table at one point. The water temperature kept swinging between scalding hot and freezing cold, so I alternated between goosebumps and feeling like my scalp was burning. It was impossible to relax. And when the service ended, she tried to tie a towel around my head to take me to the dry station, but couldn't manage it -- it took her about six attempts before I finally said, "Don't worry about it, I don't care if my hair is wet on my back." At that point I wasn't sure if she was brand new, completely spaced out, or just having a bad day, but it did nothing to inspire confidence. To top it off, they don't even dry your hair when you're done. For $250 -- yes, $250 -- you'd expect at least to leave with dry hair. No styling necessary, but sending someone out into the world with wet hair after a "luxury" service is absurd. I left feeling completely dissatisfied, shocked at the price, and regretting that I ever booked here. There are so many better, more professional, and far more affordable options in San Francisco. Save your money and stay far away from Sunday Head Spa. read more

I think that businesses that are new and hope to improve the quality of the services they offer should take feedback that was meant to be given constructively, with stride and a plan to improve. It's not only childish, but disappointingly an apparent indication that the business has no meaningful plan to actually improve, when it's business owners, here Amanda H., appears more interested in discrediting negative reviews rather than actually internalizing the feedback to improve services. I took time out of my busy schedule to review this business because I frequently rely on Yelp, and did so before coming to establishment, as well. Others do the same my review was meant to provide my honest take on the service I received. It's an expensive service and prospective customers deserve to acquire as much information about the service, should they want it, before deciding to buy it. Also, as a new business in a bustling SF neighborhood, this business has an ethical responsibility to ensure its high priced service is of the utmost quality. By responding to my below review, it does not appear that Amanda H. is at all interested in improving services but rather discrediting the negative reviews on this website. She said below, something to the effect of: " we saw our video footage and your hair was down not up when you left." It appears that this defense by "Amanda H." serves no other purpose but to discredit me. So, to that end, I write this follow up review to address this concern. Amanda H., you are correct, my hair was down when I left the establishment so as to not embarrass the staff on their "work." I was also unsure what to make of my hair and wanted to leave as quickly as possible as soon as it wasn't sopping wet. So, I dried my hair as much as I could until it want went and left. Since, apparently, the timing of when I tied my hair up is of importance to Amanda H., I'll concede that I didn't tie my hair up until I got in my uber.
