Great place for a mani + pedi. The spa is clean and modern, plus the champagne is a nice touch to the relaxation. I always feel spoiled when I visit here as the spa is well equipped. The facial and massage beds have warming blankets which I love since I run cold. The mani+pedis here are reliable. I've gotten a few facials and massages here which have been hit or miss.

First, making the appointment - it was difficult to find an open time that works, but the person who answered my calls twice was super helpful. Okay, vibe - the place was really calming. Right off the bat, as you enter, the aroma was relaxing. Maybe except the bathroom though - they should def have whatever scents they're using put in there as well. Anyway - the receptionist was nice and really helpful. For the service, Hannah did my pedicure and she was very accommodating to my request and the end result was as intended . They don't do nail art, so that's something to note, but overall, will probably be back!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I just tried PureSculpt for the first time here with Kristina! She was super nice and made it easier for me to get through it lol.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had literally no idea what I signed up for and she could tell. She explained it's like rubbing a piece of frozen clay on my body. It felt like a piece of ice being rubbed and melted on my body. This service is messy lol you basically take off your clothes and put on disposable undies that can get messy with clay. You also protect your hair in a shower cap. When it's all done, you get wiped down with towels and you finish getting clean with wipes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Kristina was super friendly and easy to talk to, and it was great distraction while I was getting the service done - which is a bit cold![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you do cold plunges from time to time like I do, you'll be fine though! However, I did do the express version which was quicker/easier than the full service. She told me it's like half the amount of clay as the full service. The price difference for Express vs. regular is $170 vs. $210 respectively. Express only took like 25 minutes even though I was booked for an hour. Maybe Kristina is just a pro and got done efficiently! But yeah, that threw me off in terms of me expecting it to be a longer service. I did feel great after even though I'm not sure if I'll see the effects after just one service. My mom on the other hand got the endermologie service done and she really liked it! 50 minutes for $210. It was fully that length of time. She said the machine was newer than one she has used before at another place. One of the things I didn't expect but loved was the waiting lobby! They have a ridiculously comfortable living room - vibe type space. There's a sofa, and two lounge chairs where you can fully lay down while waiting. I happily waited for my mom in one of these chairs! The ambiance is dimly lit, so relaxing, and there is tea and water available. Not to mention, when you first arrive, you are offered a glass of bubbly! (Prosecco) There was also WiFi to use so my dad could fully indulge on his phone without using all his data, since I came with my parents while they were visiting. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Kysa helped us with payment stuff over the phone when we had a question about payment afterwards - she was super helpful![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall it was a luxurious experience and highly recommend if you feel like pampering yourself!

Just received a 60 minute facial here. My nose has been bothering me for the past few months and it needed some nurturing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Kathleen worked with me and she was great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]She had a great bedside manner and was very calm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This was my first time here, and I thought this was a great place for both a massage, facial or mani/pedi. Great service and I will be back for a massage.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Had a great massage experience at Cocoon![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I love that they have a relaxation room where you can enjoy your tea/water/champagne before your treatment :) The massage itself was great - Carolina did a great job working through my knots and checking in with me through the treatment. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Amanda at the reception desk was also super sweet and made sure our glasses were never empty.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would definitely come back!

massage room, very quiet and peaceful

i've been getting massages for almost 10 years now, and can confidently say that this is the best massage experience i've ever had! [[HIGHLIGHT]]nicole did a wonderful job at making sure i was pampered and taken care of for my birthday.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] the ambience and attention to detail was everything to me and enhanced my overall experience at cocoon. this is my first time here and it certainly won't be my last!

LOVE this place! Their nail technicians are detail-oriented and do great manicures. The service is warm and guests are always offered some champagne or tea/coffee. Their dermaplaning and oxygen facial is amazing, and leaves my skin feeling fresh!

think, wavy nails on one with old gel not removed properly and the other more reasonable

NOT a returning costumer! this is what my last night visit has concluded with. 1) How can you be a manicurist and don't want/know to use a regular dry hand file?! blows my mind. 2) 138 of the comments here say you're greeted with prosecco, I was offered tap water and hot tea, I thought they ran out-turned out they did have, when half way through appt some guy asked for it and they silently brought it to him alone. I had a hard gel long manicure on that they didn't know how to remove. their argument was they don't have the tool (the drill-auto file) to use because they don't offer that service but they have regular files which they don't know how to use! put a lot of acetone on which I told the lady will not work, then she used some chemical dissolvent like 3 times and every time with a long sigh. It took a lot longer than she anticipated and her next appt was there so she rushed a lot which led to more deep sighs and me knowing I was going to get out with crappy nails. I cut them shortest you can cut a nail, ended up with wavy nails, super thick on one hand (old gel not being fully removed) and thinner on the other (the hand that was closer to her ended up better). the gel on a thumb nail shrinked under UV light and she just put a thicker layer on top to even out which I discovered this morning is not even dry well. :((( I just moved across the street, but definitely not my next go to salon!

Ask the Community - Cocoon Day Spa San Francisco - Soma

Hi Sarah, Do you take parties of 5. We have a special event coming up and would like 2-facial services and 5 mani-pedis. Are you able to accommodate our party?…

Hi Valerie, yes we definitely can. I would suggest you call the spa. We will be happy to assist you with this reservation!

Do they do powder dip?

Hi there! Yes we are launching it August 1st!

Are the massage rooms private? I wanted to get a couples massage off of Groupon

The massages I have gotten at Cocoon have all been in private rooms.

It was my day off, and I was on the verge of tears with my back/neck pain and aching feet. I've never paid more than $50 for a massage in NYC, but I was desperate and I needed something close by that I could get an appointment at today because I've literally been non-functional all day. Suchada answered my phone call and offered availability within 30 minutes. I didn't know what to get from their long list of options, but explained that I had back/neck pain but I'm very sensitive to pressure. I was recommended the Swedish massage, and I opted to get it for 1.5 hours. They told me there was a first time customer discount ($149 instead of $185). The space is very calming and there was a station with orange-infused cold water, which was nice. Jess, my masseuse, was professional and amazing. All the stress and tension in my body melted away, and I tried to fight it but fell asleep during parts of the massage because it was so relaxing. I did find it a bit colder than I would've liked (but I run cold; I prefer temperatures of 74-78 degrees) but it was fine. I liked that the warm towels used to wipe my body of oil were scented. Now that I'm looking at these Yelp reviews, I'm sad that they did not tell me that there's a dry sauna I could've used :( But I otherwise had an amazing experience and I walked out completely rejuvenated. Very worth it. As a note, they apparently offer 15% off Mondays to Thursdays currently. I saw someone in front of me get upset that they do not stamp the loyalty card if there's a discount on the service.

Be mindful of having to pay for parking on some streets as well as parking time limits. One thing to note is that there are two entrances--if it's your first time, the entrance across from Dumpling Time is where you'll check in. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly warm and welcoming. The waiting area was comfortable and thoughtfully stocked with refreshments, including water, dates, and dried mangoes, which was a nice touch and made the experience feel more hospitable. I booked a 1-hour Thai massage with Vollra. Before the massage, I filled out an intake form where I could indicate my preferred pressure level and any areas that needed extra attention. I requested strong pressure and she absolutely delivered. She was skilled, attentive, and seemed to know exactly where my muscles needed work. My back had been feeling particularly tight, and by the end of the session I could immediately feel a difference. I left feeling relaxed, refreshed, and significantly looser than when I walked in. A few things to know before booking: the massage areas are separated by curtains rather than private rooms. While this didn't take away from the quality of the massage, noise does travel throughout the facility. During my session, I could hear guests checking in, conversations at the front desk, and people being escorted to their treatment areas. If you're looking for complete silence or total privacy, it's something to keep in mind. I also noticed that this location has a sauna available, though it was never mentioned or offered during my visit. If you're interested in using it, I'd recommend asking when you check in. Overall, the exceptional massage quality, welcoming staff, and thoughtful amenities far outweighed the minor drawbacks. While the open-concept layout may not be ideal for those seeking complete quiet and privacy, the skill of the massage therapists and the warm customer service make this a place I would happily return to. Vollra provided one of the best massages I've ever received, and I'll absolutely be booking again. Be sure to ask about their stamp card rewards program if you plan to go back.

Facilities were clean and lovely, they have the spas and massage rooms on the first floor and a clay and salt room on the second floor. There is a vanity room where there are plenty of snacks and water/coffee/tea for you to rehydrate yourself with. I believe you get an hour before and after your appointment to enjoy all the amenities. And if you get the scrub highly recommend coming early and softening up your skin in the spas beforehand. I got the silverbell 1 hour message, which comes with the scrub, massage, and also a hair wash. The lady was super gentle and checked in on me whether that was the water temperature, scrub pressure or the massage strength. I thought with everything going on in this it might feel too rushed but time felt well budgeted.

Actual rating: 3 1/2 stars…read more Women only spa by appointment only. Day passes available but only the day of if there happen to be cancellations. Otherwise, you'll need to book a service at least a month in advance. It's situated in Japantown. If you're driving, I recommend parking in the garage as street parking is either by permit and limited to two hours. They kindly pushed our scrub time to later since one of our party members was running a bit behind. This is the first Korean place I've been to where they requested you come an hour earlier versus thirty minutes. Seemed like a long time to soak. There's also no clock inside the actual bathing area, so difficult to keep track of time. Also, first time going to a Korean spa where they want it to be absolutely silent. I get that they are going for a relaxed environment, but kind of difficult to just soak for an hour and not chit chat amongst ourselves. The shower/soaking area is on the smaller side and for some reason, they didn't have any stools for the sitting bathing areas available. There's one hot tub, one ice tub, a dry sauna, and steam sauna. This would have been more of a three-star experience for me if not for the scrub. My ahjumma, Lee, was great; very attentive and did a very thorough job! Not mentioned in the list of services, but they also wash your hair and face as well as part of the thirty-minute scrub. After our scrub, we headed upstairs to try out the Himalayan salt room and the red clay room. They had staff cleaning throughout so they definitely take cleanliness seriously. Locker room area has lots of Aveda product toiletries and blow dryers available for after. As we were leaving, they gave a face and eye mask which was much appreciated. I can see this being a go-to place if you live in the city, especially if you prioritize relaxation and cleanliness. Just be sure to make an appointment ahead of time.
