This place is amazing, a wellness sanctuary. I saw Lindsay today for a 90 minute facial and it was incredibly restorative, relaxing and rejuvenating. Lindsay used various massage modalities in which she has expertise and I relished every minute. My face looked noticeably thinner and more toned upon completion. I found the whole experience therapeutic and like I hit the "life reset button". Lindsay is highly skilled and has a wonderful and kind energy. All the products smelled fantastic too. Once upon a time there was a woman about the town who was supposed to get picked up from the airport by some guy & the folks here said- wow your boyfriend must love you.... But alas while all of that stuff didn't come into fruition, the cards & energy present in this space (which I passed twice this last trip back to my beloved red bridge city/home) were absolutely hands down so astoundingly fantastic that my only regrets are that I didn't have more time or money to get more out of the store. The energy of this place is inviting & welcoming with plants and gold hanging lights that are truly magical to see at night. When I walked by initially it was closed. I wasn't sure what exactly the shop was. A sign outside had a loving message. The branding was fantastic. I knew I had to go in & I was looking forward to exploring it when I did. The store is a cross between a skincare friendly spot (facials & other products as well as treatments) and a mystic shop. There are gorgeous offerings of cards of various sorts(I got a greeting card that has my sign on it), stones, candles, and other items such as a huge display of various tarot cards. I bought my someone (yet another hipster with a story) a Morrissey religious candle. I nearly bought a different one for myself & in hindsight nearly wish I'd gotten the other candle I saw too. I was told that the one I'd bought was rare though so that's fine even if it never ended up with said hipster ultimately. But back to the tarot cards. I have a love of tarot cards & they had many that you were invited to flip through & see for yourself before you chose. I was immediately called to a certain deck that... quite frankly is the most absolute gorgeous deck I'd ever seen & am so so beyond happy that I encountered it & was able to purchase there: The Sasuraibito Tarot by Stasia Burrington which has watercolor absolutely stunning illustrations with gold sides. The folks here are warm & friendly as well. They offer readings as well as skincare services in private rooms for consultation. I am unsure what is going to happen with my love life day to day but I do know this: I will be back here. I will likely buy another deck here. I will buy more products here in the future... and that's one thing I don't need a deck or a reading or consultation with a person or the stars to know for sure. read more

Came here for a facial with Julie - my skin was glowing for weeks ! It's a lot to work into your standard routine but so worth it. Julie was so careful with my skin, and recommend a completely new routine to solve my occasional breakouts (spoiler alert: two months out, they did!). This Magic Life reflects it's name - it indeed couldn't be more MAGICAL. These ladies KNOW skin. They also know beauty - take a look at the space - it is a cornucopia of light, crystals, fragrance, color (plants and fresh flowers brighten up the space) and general healing powers. They offer a vast selection of skin care products, all chosen (and used in facials) by the highly knowledgeable and trained estheticians who manage this sweet spa. I purchased a stunning set of tarot cards, which I ADORE; as well as a couple of face mists from Sally's own line (Birdy Botanicals) of organic skin care products. They have other fun stuff, like a variety of candles (I have a PRINCE one and I LOVE it). Jin gave me a relaxing and delightful facial, which I truly enjoyed. She is sweet, professional and truly cares about your experience). I emerged glowing and ready to take on the Mission! While this spa is on a busy corner of Guerrero street, you wouldn't know it by the serenity, positive energy, elegance and warmth that permeates this space. I'm excited to try a facial by Sally next. I book my ritual facial experiences with Yolanda, and I walk away from the appointment feeling rejuvenated. I initially booked because I was getting cystic acne along my jawline, and every remedy I tried would only solve the problem for a few weeks before it popped up again. I was starting to feel really down about my acne and so I started researching facials and found good reviews for This Magic Life. Ever since I started getting facials here my skin has cleared up noticeably. What a stunning and refreshing place - the space itself, the staff, the service, the atmosphere, everything. This is a charming and serene oasis smack in the middle of busy chaos and I'm so glad it's there for a bit of decompression and self-care. Let's start with the space. It's airy, filled with natural wonders (plant life, crystals, wood, other natural textures, textiles, and materials) with a lowkey mashup of Scandinavian-meets-global eclectic-meets-greenhouse-meets-pure serenity vibes. The palette is soothing and relaxing and there are plenty of beautiful things to look at while you wait for your service. OK now on to service - I had the 'Alchemy' facial with Sally and was blown away. One of top three (impossible to pick) facials I've had in my life. This woman is a true professional and a healer. She customized my treatment to my specific (and, ok, picky) needs and it was phenomenal. When I left the spa I thought I was going to need a taxi because I almost stumbled out like I was drunk, that's how good it was. My skin looks AAAAAHHHHHHHHMAZING and feels spectacular. After making do with months of chain-spa membership facials (geography, convenience), this custom-tailored treat was just what I needed to get my head right. They also do tarot here, a nice twist to the spa experience. I'm looking forward to going in next time, doing a tarot reading and then settling in for a lovely quiet facial (thank you Sally for letting me be introverted and mute and silent while you took care of me) during which I can mull over whatever I find. The staff is really great - I notice at chain spas you get the newest of the new, quite often junior level folks just getting into the industry, and while I have had lots of great experiences with newbies, you can tell the women who run this place are seasoned, experienced beauty/healing professionals who come with lots of wisdom under the belt. I love that. On the horizon it sounds like they'll have cool retail to offer - skin care of course, small gifts, and so on - I'll update when after my next visit when I can check it all out. read more

I've been coming to London for my skincare needs for a few years now, and this new location is restful, clean, and very inviting. From start to finish, the experience was just what I needed. The space is beautiful, airy, and full of cool little items to check out before or after your appointment. I picked up an awesome novena candle for a friend with Bjork's face on the front. So cool! The treatment room was very comfortable, with great music (Cocteau Twins!) and soft lighting. London was amazing, as usual, with custom-mixed botanicals for my face and great conversation for my brain. I have recommended friends to London in the past, and they have all been very thankful for the recommendation. This Magic Life is an inviting little oasis in the heart of the Mission, offering restoration and rejuvenation. The main room and storefront is filled with lush plants, candles, luxurious products, crystals, and tarot cards. I could keep myself entertained for hours just browsing their finely curated selection of things! While I'm smitten with the space itself its Jin that keeps me coming back! I've seen her now on many occasions for waxing and skin services. She has a quiet, but warm, presence and a healing touch. She leaves me walking out on clouds! She caters her services to my personal needs, and with her guidance I've seen and felt major improvements in my skin! I came into this sweet little shop to get a tarot reading. I'm having some major life changes and opportunities coming up and I was looking for some insight. I looked at their website for an appointment but they had nothing available before my big trip. I went to my early appointment and stopped in on my way to they next appointment giving myself just enough time for a reading if there happened to be someone available. There was, her name is Bruja. I explained a lot of the things that were going on and throughout the reading I was able to see things I wasn't even considering in a new light. If you want someone to help you look at your past, present and possible future, I highly recommend Bruja. I'm ready for my trip with a clearer vision of what I should be focusing on in the future. They also have some beautiful crystals, cards, skin care and tarot cards as well as books for further education on the matter. read more

I wanted to share my experience with Sally at This Magic Life. I first met her two years ago for my very first facial. She made sure to make me feel super comfortable and pampered the entire time. At the end she recommended a few products for me and my skin felt amazing! I love her approach to natural skincare and you can tell her knowledge goes really deep. Today I had another appointment with sally and before we started she sat down with me to talk in depth about my skin, my skincare, and the problems I've been having. Before we started the facial she actually determined that my skin seemed to be having an allergic reaction and she ultimately decided on cancelling the facial. I found this so incredibly professional! She also wanted to walk me through all the products I've been using and help me find out what was causing this reaction (while also encouraging me to see a dermatologist) I'm so thankful for the care and time she took with me! Once I heard about her experience working at the Acne clinic and I heard more more about her approach I knew I was in very safe hands. First of all, the energy of the shop is just divine - it's light, airy, welcoming, and definitely magical. The decor is incredible and there are so many wonderful art pieces and plant life throughout the space that really give it a unique, chic, fresh, classy feel. They offer a wonderful selection of crystals, tarot and oracle decks - in my opinion this alone is worth stopping by! I received a facial and peel today from Julie and it was to die for! She made me feel so comfortable, safe, totally pampered and taken care of in every way. She frequently asked if the pressure was okay, if the temperature was right, and just in general wanted to make sure my needs and comfort were met and she always adjusted seamlessly to meet them. Julie is also adorably funny, sweet, present, attentive, and it honestly feels like we would be friends in "real" life too! Our conversation flowed naturally, and I also really appreciated that she just let me chill while she did her thing instead of trying to force conversation like I've experienced in other similar settings. I followed Sally here from their other spot on Hayes street. I never expected facials to become so important to me after my wife insisted I go for the first time. Unexpected pleasure is the facial massage and the neck/ shoulder massage. It's incredibly relaxing. My face always looks and feels so much better after the service. She's got me on a simple routine that works and has improved my skin immensely. I also saw Jin once when Sally wasn't available. She is super sweet and also gave me a great facial.
