Excellent customer service! I was surprised by how nice and friendly the staff are here. They are ready to help and are very kind. I was looking for some clothes and toys for my puppy, and an employee said there's some clothes in the back corner that are on clearance! Awesome thank you! I went to the back right corner of the store and found the clearance section. At checkout, the employee offered a coupon. How sweet! Amazing customer service. 10/10 I found the cutest harness for my pups! It's a pretty purple color. I love it! I also grabbed a cute Donut toy and she won't leave it alone. It is her favorite now!! No joke. My husband said, "wow she loves the donut you got her." Yes lol I also got a replacement Lamb squeaky toy. She tore up her old one. Great selection on dog toys! 10/10 read more

Some of the adoption staff is very rude. I was "informed" that my previous cat was eaten by coyotes (which was loudly announced in front of the entire adoption area) after I informed the staff member that my previous cat got out due to a family member leaving the door open at night, while I was at work, about a year ago. I understand how the situation most likely ended as I never saw her again and have been grieving ever since, so I really did not need a staff member at PetSmart to confirm that in front of the entire store. I was also asked questions prior to looking at the cats (which I understand as not just anyone should be allowed to adopt and care for an animal if they are not fit to); however, I was somewhat aggressively approached and once I stated I may allow my cat to occasionally wander outside with me (which I did not allow my previous cat to do at all) I was told I would not be allowed to adopt a cat. Again, I understand the fear because it possibly sounded like I would allow my cat to roam free unsupervised; however, I just meant I have a harness to take him/her on walks for exercise if they enjoyed doing so. But, I was rudely cut off and told that if I get a cat I would "just be providing food for the coyotes" which was somewhat disturbing to hear after having lost my cat in that way about a year prior. In all honesty, the staff member seemed to have made her mind up on NOT allowing me to adopt a cat prior to even speaking with me (which may be my own perception I acknowledge that). She had originally told me to leave around 11:40 when I walked in and come back around 12, which is when they hold open adoptions. That makes 100% sense, so I left and came back. When I came back she looked shocked and as I was about to talk to other staff asking about the cats she interrupted us. That is when she said she needed to ask me some questions. Again, it could just be my perception, but she did so in an aggressive and somewhat interrogative way that made me feel as though, regardless of my answers, she would not be allowing me to adopt any cats. Overall, I was rudely told that I could not get a cat because my previous one was eaten by coyotes and, under my care, the new one would be so too. Again, the cat would have been a complete indoor cat besides the occasional walk or training in case of emergencies. I understand and completely respect the concern from the staff, but the way I was addressed and talked down to was not appreciated. read more

We always shop at this PetSmart for our dog food. We decided to try the Grooming here. Not sure that was a great idea. The person that took our boy in was a young man and we reviewed the nasty pad they had for the length of hair we wanted. Then we went over the face and they had a picture behind us of a Yorkie with his furry face. We told him yes we want his face just like that. They took him in and told us it'd be a couple of hours. When we returned to pick our boy up, he did not look even close to what they were supposed to do. They cut all of his hair off of his face so he looked like a Chihuahua and not a Yorkie. WTF???!!!??? really you could not follow the simple directions that we went over with you and spent so much time making sure you knew what to do and even wrote it down. They could not even follow their simple directions. I would not take my dog here anymore ever again or I would not recommend anybody bring their dog here for a Grooming because they don't know what they're doing and they don't even follow what was written down for them. Just a bunch of young kids learning to do Dog Grooming I think. Not very good at following any directions that they receive? Not at all. I would suggest going elsewhere for Grooming. We adopted our two dogs as puppies in front of Petsmart on a Saturday and we were in training the next day. One of our dogs won an award for best behavior. They are now fourteen years old and our training still makes them a pleasure to have in our home. read more

Doggy Day Camp: We have been loyal to this day camp for 2 years. More recently our dog had some issues with reactivity and they have been AMAZING. These amazing people KNOW the dogs, including ours. The employees are skilled, professional and so caring. We tried Smart Parke and the number of dogs to handlers makes it impossible to get to know any of the dogs. DO NOT take your pet to be groomed here. Me and my husband took our kitten (5 months) to do his first grooming, nail trim and ear cleaning. I was already very nervous and hesitant as it's his first time doing this and as we're checking him in a lady grooming a dog was yelling at him. Not even 5 minutes in and we're out the door. My husband saw this young lady with piercings all over her face acting very aggressive with my cat in many ways, needless to say we left. Dog stayed for a couple days and was obviously not doing well medically while there. We had to take him to an emergency 24/7 vet after his stay and he died. I believe they don't look after the dogs enough because he should have been brought to the vet while at the hotel. WORST PLACE FOR BOARDING DOGS!!!! Leaving a 1 star because this place is TERRIBLE when it comes to boarding dogs. We left our dog for 4 days and left our dog his bed and blankets so that he wouldn't have to sleep on the floor. The staff NEVER EVER opened the bag with my dog's bed and blankets. When we picked up our dog, the blankets and bed were folded the way we left it. The employee also came from a different direction with our dogs blanket, water bowl, and bed. It looked unused meaning they didn't even care to take it out for him. Our dog also smelled like pee and all of his paws were stained with pee. The horror in my dog's eyes when we picked him up. It destroyed me seeing my dog in fear because of the way they treated him. Also, when we picked up our dog he was dying of thirst. The minute we got home he went straight to his water bowl and drank THREE bowls of water. That showed to me that this company did not give my dog sufficient water throughout the day. Talk about DOG CRUELTY. WORST place to take your dog boarding. Don't EVER EVERRR bring your dog here unless you want them to be treated like trash. read more

I am truly devastated by what became of my dog after we boarded her here last weekend. We thought we were going to get quality service because we love our veterinarian at Banfield in the same Petsmart that this pet hotel is at. My dog came home completely lethargic and continue to be lethargic for another day. After visiting the vet, she was diagnosed with kennel cough and an ear infection. On top of that, she is now afraid to come inside using her doggy door. I don't know what happened in those few days but now my dog is sick and is a nervous wreck. Because they are in the same building as our vet, my dog would not get out of the car and began trembling before her paws even hit the pavement. I do not recommend boarding your pets here. This was a horrible first experience and will no longer be using petsmart pet hotels as a service. read more

I'm giving this a review a five star as it was my first experience using PetsHotel with this PetSmart location in Yorba Linda. I was recommended by my sister in law as she too also uses PetsHotel with this location. I've read bad reviews and have been recommended by others NOT to use them but at short notice and after researching other boarding companies I felt I was more comfortable using PetsHotel for my pups needs. The person who scheduled the stay was polite and very informative of prices and options for the board. She offered any extra treats for the stay so my pup would stay comfortable. She explained how my pup would get 1 on 1 play since he is not neutered and is not eligible for group play, which was fine with me because you never know how other dogs can be or mine for that matter. The day before drop off I was able to sign any papers and provide a list of his vax to make sure we would have a smooth transition at drop off. The person at the counter was friendly and handled my dog with care. It went as smooth as expected. My pup stayed a total of 4 nights. Pick up was a breeze. I loved the "pawgress" report they provide. My pup came home happy and actually smelled better than when I dropped him off. I didn't add any grooming services but maybe they wiped him down for some reason. My pup actually came home really mellow and relaxed. My previous boarding facility I used would give my dog back stinky from play and hyped up. He would pant like crazy as if he ran a marathon. He would have group play and there and would non stop play all day with no breaks. I was very surprised how relaxed and calm my dog was after using PetsHotel at PetSmart. I felt as if he had been pampered at a spa for the last 4 days. Needless to say excellent service from scheduling, pick up and drop off and the overall care my dog received. This review is for Diego. I started taking my puppy here 12 weeks ago starting with the puppy class. I wanted to get into a certain class that started the soonest according to their calendar unfortunately I was unable to book online due to being full. I called the store and spoke to Diego he was very accommodating and was able to open up a spot for me. I will say many many many years ago I took my bulldog for puppy class and was expecting little training and more socializing with the other puppies , however the training program has completely changed since then and you are definitely getting your money's worth with training. My pup has learned to walk on a leash properly, to ignore other dogs that are barking , sit, stay while I'm out of his eye sight , come when called when there are distractions around (food treats and toys) as well being able to walk with him into stores without him going crazy and trying to pull me, this is just to name a few. All I can say is wow his training and techniques are on point! Diego is really patient in training something I had to learn and takes the time to watch each pup and their owner practice the Techniques he is teaching that day. I could not be more pleased with the training class. We have completed puppy and intermediate level and now entering advanced all this has been learned in just 12 weeks! Going to this grooming department is a crap shoot. This last time, they did everything we asked them NOT TO DO. Very disappointing

I was rudely told that I couldn't purchase a small pet even though the pet enclosure sold by PetSmart was approved for this animal. The overly sensitive strange young sales associate was very pushy for the up sell to a higher priced fish tank even though the animal wasn't even close to being a fish. I requested the manager come explain the situation to this young kid, and which the manager agreed that I was correct in the situation, but threw in his nonsensical opinion at the end as well. Be careful of these overly political aggressive employees pushing their opinions on you. I had hundreds of dollars in my shopping and just walked out without anything and took my business elsewhere. Maybe with enough lost revenue corporate will reconsider who they hire. read more

Five Stars for Christie only. Pet Smart better appreciate her. About a week ago my doggie got to feel like a puppy again. I posted a picture of her return ride home. She was sitting up on her own and she ran around again like a puppy. Christie gave her that "extra loving brushing" that made her feel so happy and that is reflected in the picture. She loves brushes and car rides. Thanks Christie. Shortly after, my doggie's hip problems kicked back in. This last week, she stopped walking and eating. She didn't drink water at all today. She went for her last car ride with me holding her. She couldn't sit on her own. My doggie, Scoobie, went to doggie heaven tonight. Thank you Christie. She really was happy that day and the next. She really did feel like a puppy again. She really was happy again for at least two days. I know Christie layed her a special way also during the bath and the brush to address the hip problem. Christie is a special caring animal lover and we all love her for giving scoobie one last shot at puppy-ness. read more

Direct quote from girl at the Pet Hotel (or was it Banfield? Whatever is straight down the middle aisle at the back of the store) to fellow employee on Christmas Eve: "I can't STAND that barking. Sometimes I just forget that it's not soundproof back there, and I scream, "SHUUUUUUT UUUUUUP....!" Um, that's disgusting. Did you also forget that the counter you're standing behind is also not soundproof? Have some grace and professionalism in front of (and away from) customers. This job is not for you. To be fair, this particular dog's bark was pretty high-pitched. But clearly it was in distress about being boarded. The girl showed zero compassion about that. I know I would sooooooo not be okay if it was my dog that was being yelled at like that, especially during a time of distress. One of three things needs to happen: a) girl needs to find a different non-animal related job; b) management needs to dismiss her from their employ; c) you need not board your dog there (and warn those you know to do the same). No dog deserves to be treated like that, especially if it's anxious about missing its family. I haven't had a problem with the store portion of Petsmart (I've even had my dog groomed here), but the Pet Hotel needs to review its practices (and its employees). read more

I took my dog to get groomed and I paid for a package that includes a bandana and additional treatment ( a package I book regularly). And every single time they forget the bandana, which is what I pay for. Now I know it's ridiculous to be upset over a lack of bandana but what concerns me is that the package I get that comes with the bandana, includes other things too. If I'm not getting the bandana, I can't help but wonder what else I'm not getting either. For the past three times I've taken my dog, they always "forget" to give me the bandana and when I ask I always get attitude. Today was my last straw. I finished paying, they bring my dog, I ask for the bandana, and I was told no. Wasn't even worth the argument anymore, I just hope my dog got the treatment I paid for. read more

When we first got our dogs, we purchased everything we needed right here. We got their beds, leashes, personalized tags, food, and all of the toys they could ever want at Petsmart. Petsmart has a great staff of people working here. Everyone is always so patient when I ask a ton of questions about which kinds of products are best for our dogs. We have also done some dog training classes here too, and the instructors were so friendly and knowledgeable. The grooming department is also great. The prices are a bit steep, but well worth it. They treat my dogs really well, and both dogs always look so beautiful afterward. My dogs and I really like Petsmart. They have a great selection of general products for your pet and the people that work at this location are very knowledgeable and helpful. read more

Ysenia was at the front waiting for me and already knew my dog's name! She took my information and Simba's as well and talked details in regards to cut. She was polite about me being a nervous puppy mother and said she would take good care of him. when I returned, Simba was very happy and seemed like he had a fun time! Worst place ever. Boarded our 12 year old blind lab , explained in detail she is blind and old. Dropped off in morning that afternoon get a call that my dog has to go to vet I told them no. After explaining why she is acting that way they still take her. Now my vet was never called. I got a bill for over 100.00 from vet and same afternoon they told me to pick up my dog. We boarded our cat here for one night and the way they treated her was completely unacceptable. When we picked her up, we were told that she had a bad stay and we wouldn't be able to bring her back to board for more than one night. On our way home, our cat peed and pooped in her carrier which is something she's never done after being boarded. When we got home, we checked her bag that was left with her while being boarded and all but one container of food was still in her bag...meaning they only fed her ONCE. When I called to complain I was told that they fed her what we asked them to and when I said "that is a lie because I'm looking at the food you were supposed to feed her", she said oh well we had a hard time because she was scratching us. When I asked why they didn't bother to call us if they couldn't feed her, she couldn't answer me. They also didn't tell us when that they couldn't feed her when we picked up our cat. So not only did they lie, but they weren't even going to tell us to begin with and we're instead told that our cat ain't welcome there anymore. I ended up getting a phone call from them the following day and it was confirmed that they didn't feed her when they were supposed to and we were issued a refund. I would never trust them with my pets again. read more

This makes no sense to me how can you buy an animal never holding it and not knowing his personality that seems like a poor decision for the animal and the person purchasing the pet. I took my dog to get groomed here today. Right after I picked him up he pooped and peed all over an aisle. I always take him potty before we go anywhere so it's obvious that nobody from the grooming salon bothered to take him out. Came here to buy several stuff for our dogs and aquarium. Saw a tag that all guppies were 20% off so we bought 8. When we got to the register the fishes did not have a discount. Cashier called the manager named Bryce. We tried to get the discount because thats what it says in the aquarium but he insisted it was not applicable to our purchase for some reason that did not make sense to us. He even said to us "we could remove the sign (20% off) now if you want!" We thought that was a bit rude. Of course, we bought the fishes anyway since our kids were with us. Bottom line is that BRYCE was willing to give up customers satisfaction for a couple of dollars. I would not someone like that to manage any of my stores! read more

Time to update my review. I am way too often at this store, volunteering for cat rescue, dog rescue, dog training. This store has improved a whole lot since the last time I reviewed it. Everyone that works here is so friendly and helpful. I also want to comment about the dog training. I've been taking private dog training classes with Diego, and I can't thank him enough. This particular Petsmart rocks! We have been a long time customer here and have used all of their services except for the grooming and Veterinarian. We have had over the last 23 years 8-9 cats from Cats in Need, various fish, crickets for our lizards and are using their dog training classes now. Demario is one of the best trainers there are as far as we're concerned. He trains us on how to train the dog and has helped us understand how our boy will react to different commands. Their Doggy Daycare has been awesome as well and our boy Percy is well know and loved there. Jen and Amy are wonderful and always stop to say hi to Percy when he's in the store. They don't care about your pet's needs. I asked them to plug my dogs ears, they looked right at me and said of course. They did not so he came home with water in his ears that turned into an infection. They refused to try brushing him and said they needed to cut him all the way down. No other groomers have refused to try first, even other Petsmart locations are more dog friendly. They nicked him when cutting which also led to an infection. I took my dog to the vet two days after his grooming appointment and got to spend an additional $230 and came home with a cone for my sweet, little boy. Worse grooming ever! read more
