DON'T EAT AT THIS RESTAURANT!!
Let me preface this by saying I am a waiter and have worked in a restaurant for 2 years now. I know how things SHOULD work and how you SHOULD handle an unhappy customer.
This was by far the WORST dining experience I've ever had. PERIOD.
This is long so I'll highlight what's written below:
- Wasn't greeted by the waiter for 20 minutes
- Food took 40 minutes
- Slow service
- Apparently the wrong order was delivered to our table (even though it was exactly what we ordered) and the food runner demanded that we give the food back (even though the plate had already been picked at)
- Asked for a manager, came out and his first words were "yeah?"
- Manager disrespected my mother and told her she was a liar.. threatened to "take me outside".. and said he didn't care what we thought because we "probably weren't coming back"
The full story:
My parents showed up about 10 minutes before me, my girlfriend, my brother and his friend showed up... it took the waiter 20 minutes to even notice there were four more of us at the table... we were at a high top in the middle of the restaurant so there really is no excuse for not even greeting us (but I'll forgive that part... it wasn't that busy or anything, but I understand that can happen from time to time.
We finally put our drink orders in to a guy with a ponytail who rushed us though our order.
After getting our drinks.. it took us another 20 minutes to actually order our food... and we didn't even order from our waiter.. a waitress (who was actually the one person at the restaurant who was pleasant to deal with) took our order after we waived her down.
30 minutes later... still no food... not even a waiter checking in with us..
Finally two dishes come out. A buffalo chicken wrap with no tomato, and another buffalo chicken wrap. My brother's friend saw the sandwich and asked the guy carrying it if it was his.. the mad repeated what he had and my brother's friend said "yup, that's ours." The man dropped the food off and left (me and my girlfriend were still without our food)
2 minutes later the man who dropped the food off came back to the table and told my brother and his friend to give back the food because it was no theirs. They had already put hot sauce and ketchup on their fries.. the man said he would scrape the fries off, put new fries on, and give them to the right table (that's not right). The waitress from earlier came over and told the man just to leave the food.
ANOTHER 10 minutes after that my girlfriend and I finally got out food (let's recap... thats 40 minutes... all we ordered was a salad and a chicken sandwich). My mom was leaving before us so she asked a staff member walking by if we could see the manager)
The manager came out a few minutes later and greeted us with "Yeah?"
My mom told him the situation about the slow service, the guy wanting to take my brothers food away from him, and the amount of time we waited for the food. He listened and then said "The way I heard it, one of your boys on the end demanded the food from my server and it wasn't even his food."
Two things about that:
1. the guy running the food should know what table the food he is carrying is going to
2. If you're in a restaurant and you're hungry.. and you see food coming your way.. which is EXACTLY what you ordered, you're going to assume it's yours... it's the SERVERS job not to give he wrong people the food. My brother did TAKE the food off his tray.. He asked the server if that was his food, the server said it was a buffalo chicken wrap with no tomato and another buffalo chicken wrap.. my brother said yeah that's theirs.. and the guy gave them the food.
My mom pointed this all out and the manager responded with "yeah but that wasn't his food." My mom said but it was exactly what they ordered and he just kept saying that "it wasn't your food."
He then began smirking at my mom while she kept trying to reason with him (which i found extremely disrespectful). So I told the guy stop smirking at my mom like that.. he turned to me and said "I'm not talking to you, the adults are speaking" (I'm 23... and a paying customer..) So I started talking to him and told him that he was handling it terrible and that I've always been told "the customer is always right" (which, in this situation, I really believe to be true.. we weren't asking for much, just wanted to let them know that we didn't like how we were handled that night). He then said again that he was "talking to the adults" and that I should butt out.. I told him not to talk to me like that (and I'll admit I did use a curse word in the process).
He then got in my face and asked if I wanted to "take it outside." I may be 23.. but I was much more of an "adult" than him that night... I stayed calm, in my seat, and continued to try and talk with him.. He told us that he didn't care what we thought because we were probably never going to come back again..
