The food was good, however, the customer service & friendliness is not much of a priority. The first time I've visited with my toddler, I felt rushed to finish our meal. I thought to give this place another chance with my family on a Sunday morning after church & other than the food being good as it was before, we all had the same experience of feeling rushed by 2 waitresses. We didn't feel very welcomed or felt it's the environment to spend time with your family and relax for a moment. Next time, if anything, I'll be sure we order take out because dining in didn't seem to be very pleasant. read more

My first time visiting this little gem of a restaurant. I was meeting a friend for breakfast and tried the Chicken Fried Steak. The Steak was hand breaded and very well prepared. Also very good portions. The gravy was homemade and obviously not your basic gravy mix. I had a biscuit which again homemade. The Mother (owner) and Daughter running the restaurant were wonderful and very attentive. My Coffee was filled regularly and they made sure we were well taken care of. Sadly I watched 2 people come in that got upset because they were not a "Coffee House" serving gourmet beverages. People!!! This is an awesome Homestyle Cafe! So go there and enjoy a great homestyle meal and your coffee snob attitude at the door! I will definitely be eating here again. Such a cute little place with great food. Family owned and run, with the sweetest staff. Can't go wrong with their breakfasts, just have to get their early on weekends or they run out of Menudo. I wanted to support a local spot so I thought I'd give them a try. My party and I arrived around 1pm(they close at 3). At about 2pm they turned off the A/C when it was 108° outside making it ridiculously hot inside. The entire staff wasn't friendly at all and my waitress had a horrible attitude. She practically threw my plate on my table. The food itself was okay. The coffee was watered down. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I immediately posted my review of this restaurant upon leaving. The owner and her daughter then proceeded to harass us in the parking lot regarding this Yelp review and for not leaving a tip. It's unfortunate to have to leave a negative review but this place deserves it. From the horrible attitude (throwing plates down because of hair found in the food), to yelling at a customer, to harassing us as customers outside in our parked cars and also turning off the air conditioning in 108 degree weather in which unfortunately I brought my 1 year into just so that would make us leave. You would think with everything that was shut down last year they would want to welcome customers but apparently that is not the case. Was looking for a breakfast place after church and came across this place from a google search for breakfast. I went with my brother and my mom. We noticed they were busy, but it took a while for us to get our order in due to constant pick ups etc. A young guy took our drinks and said the waitress will be with us soon. As our waitress, which we found out is the actual owner. She came to take our order, a customer walks in for a pick up. She told us to hold on a min and took about 7 mins helping the customer who had a pick up. As a person who's been a waitress for many years, that customer could have waited for his pick up and she should of taken our orders anyways since we were ready. She rushed to help the guy with the pickup that she left the whole coffee pot on our table, we all just laughed. As the owner (our waitress) came back to our table to take our order she never apologized for the wait or anything. She then takes our order.. my mom didn't like the Turkey burrito she had and talked to the owner about it and she said "ma'am you ate the burrito" (which she yelled so the whole restaurant can hear) which only half was gone. I understand that my mom eating half the food, but it's the service behind it that matters. This place could be so much better if it weren't with the attitudes serviced with the food. I am all for small businesses, but this is a business that could careless about how you feel. We were going to tip well, but we don't tip attitudes. read more

Me, my husband, and our pregnant friend came today to buy some food. this has been our 3rd time here and the owner stated they didnt want outdoor drinks. I brought my Starbucks drink , not for the intent to drink it but to take it out of my hot car because it was already hot and the ice was already melted. today it was 106. the owner explained out loud no outdoor drinks. it was just my drink, my husband came there to eat and we brought our friend and my baby. I put my drink in my water flask because if an outdoor drink offended her, I would just transfer my drink in a flask and throw away the cup if it's such an issue. well I guess this didn't please her. her service was poor. not only was she passive, but she was rude and treated the other customers nice and was very attentive, but with us she was almost trying to get rid of us, being rude to us and push us out. keep in mind this is my pregnant friends first time here and she didn't even think it would be an issue. plus because we bought 60$ worth of food, not saying we are entitled to bring outdoor foods and drinks, but I did get rid of the view of it and just moved the drink to the hydro flask and threw away the cup. The fact our baby was also there and she was that rude and passive, my husband said don't tip them and never to come back again. And he's usually a nice dude, he loves everyone. But even him saying that the treatment was rude. We weren't even making a problem, we were trying to be nice and be flexible also. read more

This was our first time trying this restaurant. My husband got the Chilaquiles with chorizo. He said it was amazing. I ordered the menudo with the homemade corn tortillas. It was absolutely delicious. It reminded me of my grandmother's menudo. So good!! My kids shared the pancake plate. They loved it. The service was awesome and the staff was kind. RUDE customer service!!!! The food isn't bad, that is why I give it 2 stars. The girls working are rude and unwelcoming. They need help in managing on how they treat a customer and not expect for the customer to return just solely on the food. The peach cobbler isn't nothing special, made from can peaches and to sweet. I would rather get some Patty La Belle peach cobbler from Walmart. The menudo is good but when it's served the rude ladies need to be careful how it's placed on to the table rather than casually handing it over like if it isn't hot! On 9/22/21 my wife and a friend went for lunch at the Sunflower Cafe. When paying the bill my wife inadvertantly left a $50.00 bill on the table instead of a $20.00 plus $6.00 as a tip. Walking out to leave (in the parking lot) the waitress came out and let my wife know (and asked) if she actually wanted to leave a $30.00 tip. My wife had pulled out the wrong $bill at the table not two minutes earlier. She thanked the waitress and all was made whole in the parking lot. Later my wife told me she should have let the 'honest' waitress keep the $30.00 tip. Honestry is still alive an well at the Sunflower Cafe. Let's all go there for breakfast and lunch.
