My wife and I were supremely happy on our first visit to this place. Last Sunday while at church we found a menu brochure for this place. Wanting to support a new business, we went there today. My wife had French toast with bacon, and I ordered fish and chips. She was very happy with her order, saying it was the best French toast she's had at any restaurant in the AV. My Fish and chips meal was fantastic as well. The fish was light, there was no taste of oil. The server checked on us at least three times to see if all was OK. I tipped them generously. Definitely do not recommend to anyone! I walked in with my daughter and the waiter said to pick any seat. I asked if they accepted tap payment and she immediately changed her attitude and said very rudely NO and gave me the dirtiest look like I didn't have the intention of paying. Then she proceeded to tell my no restaurant around here accepts that type of payment. I wanted to get out of character so bad but I was with my daughter! Definitely don't go to this place. The food is descent but what makes me give it a 3 is the customer service. At first I thought maybe the lady who appears to be the owner was having a bad day but second time around and again the lady was rude and not friendly at all. This place is beautiful it's a hole in the wall place. We found it by accident. We were in our way to Crazy ottos and stumbled across this place. So cute!! The food was really good and homemade. The waffle is really good too. The PERFECT consistency crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The California omelette is really yummy too. They don't have iced coffee but if you ask the waitress she will pour brewed coffee over ice and you can add the creamer and sugar to your liking. As another reviewer said, we were on our way to Crazy Otto's when we discovered Sunflower Café and turned around! We went on a Sunday, about 11 a.m. We were seated immediately and were served drinks promptly. The vibe is awesome! Love the decor and the booths. Great music playing; it was chill and totally fit the vibe. I had the Steak Omelette (very good!) and my wife had the breakfast burrito. Service was prompt, portions were great, prices were reasonable, staff was friendly. The green salsa could use a bit more kick, but was still delicious. Glad to have a "new breakfast spot." Food was decent, prices were high, service was good. The table and chair combination they have chosen in the restaurant is uncomfortable. Because their style of booth has arm rests they sit far from the table to allow you to get in, but for anyone under 250 lb the table ends up sitting too far away to be comfortable so you have to scoot the whole booth inward essentially trapping yourself into the booth. Until you need out and have to scoot the whole thing back. Ambiance wise the music they played made me feel like I should have been at the gym, not eating breakfast. read more

We tried the Chiliaquiles with green sauce and the Papas Con Chorizo. We added Chorizo to the Chiliaquiles. The Chiliaquiles were amazing! The Papas were good too. We prefer the potatoes to be deep fried and were told they can accommodate that. Viviana the owner was very friendly. Unfortunately, there weren't a lot of people in the restaurant. I think people still believe they are the organic restaurant that used to be there. They have a Mexican and American menu. The ambience is really nice and they dressed up the restaurant well. This is by far the best menudo I had anywhere, you also get handmade tortillas and their different kind of salsas are freshly made there. Hands down! Second time being here. Nice cute family restaurant. The music was kinda loud, and the servers were nice and friendly. The food is delicious, I gotta give it up for the cooks they deserve 5 stars. I got the red chilaquiles with chorizo and home fries, it was so good. But damn in order to get a refill on my coffee, I had to hunt someone down. They never asked if I wanted a refill or if I needed anything. One server took her kid to work and she kept babysitting him instead of working, they were even taking turns babysitting. My daughter drove me to this place for our late breakfast. There are plenty of parking spaces. We sat outside. Service was excellent. I ordered menudo since they have a big flag sign. This is my second time here and both times the customer service was bad. She walks around with an attitude as if you're bothering her. Also a fried egg is just that a fried egg. It's different from a over easy, over medium or over hard egg. So when I say fried egg I mean a fried egg. Food is subpar so not sure what everyone else in the comments were tasting. We tried this place because the wife saw their advertisements about having menudo. We brought the kids with us. She got menudo, which she loved. She said it is just like her grandmother used to make. Ordered the huevos rancheros and my husband had the green chilaquiles verde with chorizo. Food was amazing. One of the best chilaquiles in the AV. Food was fresh, with a homemade feel. My wife and I came here a few times. We like the menudo here. I tried the huevos rancheros and it was very disappointing. It was more bell peppers than eggs, and it was swimming in a stale sauce. The younger one (which they mentioned was the owners daughter) was extremely rude. I really wanted to like this place. Walked in. Wasn't that busy. Only two tables were seated inside. Waited a few minutes while a waitress acknowledged us. Another family came in after that and they seemed to know one waitress, she paid attention to them right away. We finally sat down. Waited several more minutes for a waitress to acknowledge us at our table. One came over and asked if anyone had taken our drink order. No one had. We ordered waters. Several more minutes later, a waitress rushed over, almost spilling the drinks, put them down fast and walked away while saying "I'll be back to take your order". We were ready. We'd been ready for a while. She rushed over to the table across from us (to the family that had gotten there several minutes after we did). The waitress chatted with them and in Spanish told them, "that table came in first", and nodded our way. She took their drink and food order. The waitress walked away. A while later, she came back and asked if we were ready to order. To which I said "yup". She didn't care. Wouldn't even make eye contact. So we ordered. 5 minutes after the table across from us ordered, they got their food delivered to their table. Wow. The table next to us was skipped also. They waited longer than we did. After all the waiting we did, 30 minutes after we ordered, our food finally arrived. The table that she gave preference to, was already done eating by that time. The food. We got the Mexican omelette. All jalapeño and cheese. Very little chorizo. Veggie omelette was good. Eggs and sausage, eggs were over medium and were already broken on my plate (you can see the yolks running under the sausage in the pic). Disappointed my plate ate the yolks instead of me. I also got the strawberry crepes (no pic), the crepes were not crepes. They were pancakes. Very thick. There were 5 thin slices of strawberry on top with whipped cream. No cheese filling. Overall my family was disappointed with the service, treatment and the food. I doubt we'll be back. Not worth the money for what we got. Which was mediocre service and food. Oh, they charge $.75 for you to pay with a card. I really hate when companies charge their customers card processing fees. read more

I understand that some places may charge a small fee for using card but not only do they charge $1 for using card but an additional $5 totaling $6 fee for Apple (Tap) pay!? Not sure how that makes sense. Also, they can work on their customer service. read more
