    Veggie burger wrap

Loved this gem of a place! Adorable, huge menu, friendly and knowledgeable staff, cute deck and plenty of seating, free parking. Lots of gluten-free options and whole place is vegan, whoo hoo! Easy to avoid many intolerances for me. We shared the gluten-free lasagna (delicious), and gf veggie burger wrap along with a greens side and a Pad Thai side. Then a sugary dessert (creamy silken tofu chocolate chip). Didn't see the outdoor cats but live that they take care of them!

Yummy!! So glad to finally try this healthy vegan restaurant. Staff were helpful in answering my questions about their different options. They have wraps, bowls, burgers, rotating specialties, sides, etc. I got the burger bowl & especially enjoyed the black bean hummus I added on! I also love the exterior of their building and the fact that they have a cute cat outside to welcome you as you enter! Would love to come again and try something else.

Did not get a pic this time. I tried the southern bbq bowl with a mix of brown rice and quinoa. Hit the spot because I was craving some southern comfort food. I also tried the chocolate mousse. It had a kick of cayenne, a nice surprise. The service was quick; it was a bit after a lunch rush. And I got it to go as my pup was in the car.

Okay well that was one of the yummiest vegan barbecue sandwiches I have had. I also got the bacon ranch chicken wrap to go and it was so yummy! I would get that over and over again! Everything can be made gluten free, yes even the wraps! Which is very rare. Overall, this is a great place to go for a southern flared vegan restaurant that gives you that feel of Nashville. Also, their pad thai cold salad was so great!

One of the best vegan/vegetarian/clean restaurants in the Nashville area - so grateful to live and work close by. My go to is the buffalo tempeh wrap and the famous bbq. Today I need warm, comforting, filling food and went with the famous bbq bowl over season potatoes, melted cashew queso, and a side of garlic aioli and it was absolutely perfection!! The service is consistently friendly and quick, you walk up to order and then are given your food on a tray. They have beautiful indoor and outdoor table space. While their private parking lot is tight, I've never had an issue getting a spot. Their desserts are also a big hit, didn't order any today! They did offer some free halloween candy. I appreciate their self-service items and to-go containers for ease packing leftovers.

Mood: vegan eats! Very very filling & delicious. So fresh and obviously made in house. Really enjoyed the Asian slaw that came with both dishes. Hummus 10/10 Bar b que wrap 8/10 Bar b que bowl 8/10 Overall the place is quiet, clean, with top tier service. Such a hidden gem (to me) but located in a great area.

This place is slightly hidden. parking in the back. This is my second time here and not the last. It will be a staple to come check and have when in Nashville. Everything here is vegan, and packed with flavor. Their burgers are some of the best I've ever had. The jalapeno burger is awesome! Its got a tiny kick to it but the flavor is great. The bbq beef is what they are famous for but it's not my favorite. The service is super quick and friendly. All the food is already prepared and they have cafeteria like set up. You walk up order and pay and pick the food up at the register. I would encourage to try everything on the menu. I don't think you can go wrong. I can tell you one thing, if this place was close to my house i wouldn't hesitate to go vegan.

100% recommend sunflower cafe. A variety of options- bowls, wraps, salads, tacos, nachos, phillies, veggie burger galor, and lots of sides options. I got the roasted roots wrap, it was super good. I also got the black bean hummus. Super refreshing lunch. They have beer, kombucha, and CBD drink options. Order cafeteria style. Indoor and outdoor seating with the cutest feline company on the porch. I will be making my way through this menu.

This is a great spot to go for Vegan/Vegetarian. The food is very good and the staff are friendly. I myself am not vegan or vegetarian but I am completely open to eating it. Food is food :) To the meat eaters out there, go into these places with an open mind, I guarantee you will enjoy it. A good diet consists of "mostly plants" as I heard a doctor say once before. We as Americans eat too much meat I believe. Meat used to be a treat and a special thing. Saying that, yes I am a meat eater, and yes I probably eat too much meat. Now on to the review: I usually opt for their "you pick two" (Not sure if that's what it's called) but I get the soup option and a side. I don't get to eat out as often as I want but each time I have come here, it's always delicious and served with love.

    Is it dog friendly?

I was there the other day and saw a couple sitting outside with their dog.

    What's vegetarian on the menu?

Everything is vegan on the menu. There are some gluten free items too. I've enjoyed their delicious food for years. Even my non vegan family enjoys coming here. They'll help you with food allergies too. Have a fun time!!

Does anybody have a pad Thai copycat recipe? I live in Knoxville and constantly crave Sunflower's pad Thai!

I love their Pad Thai!! I make a vegan Pad Thai and quick easy sauce I use is a Thai Almond sauce. I get mine from thrive market. It is so tasty! Check out this product on Thrive Market: https://thrivemarket.com/yais-thai-almond-sauce…

What are their veggie burgers made out of?

I asked this weekend! I was told: purple sticky rice, sweet potato, beets, sunflower seeds, and sundried tomato paste.

And I've been missing out all this time?! Well, no longer. Surati is now my go to, to sate my exotic whim. This Caucasian family arrived on a sultry Friday evening. We had to wait until the monsoon had passed before we trekked to our destination. I mean to tell you, that it was a torrential downpour! But we were on a mission. As we approached, and before we even went inside, we were met with the intoxicating aroma of spice. I turned to my daughter, "uhhh Missy, I think that this is going to be epic." Oh yes, daddy, just wait. A very friendly gentleman greeted us at the counter where you order. The poor guy. He had to explain to us several times what we were ordering, as our western ears strained to capture through his thick accent. Every time he explained, and we couldn't understand, my daughters voice got louder as if that would make it better. It didn't, but it sure made it more hilarious! Communication was finally struck and so too an understanding. Our order placed, we found a corner table and settled in. It wasn't beyond our sensing, that us four were the strangers in this land. All the more appealing. It wasn't but for a few short minutes before our first dish found its way to the table. Now, before I go further, I have to warn you that I can't remember, much less, begin to pronounce the names of these items. I can only describe and tell you that they were all fantastic. Our first selection, was a platter of these crunchy puffed things. Our server explained, (a couple of times lol), how we are supposed to handle these delicate bites. "Punch a hole and put water in." We knew that he meant sauce, so that's what we did. Boy was that water ever tasty. Next were the Samosas. Yes, I know. I remembered that name. But only because my daughter kept saying get the Samosas, daddy, get the Samosas. I did, and I conquered. They didn't last long. Next up, fried spinach things. Those may have been the best of all. But wait, there's more....boy was there ever. The big dogs hit the table in short order. A giant crepe pancake stuffed with onion and potato, a spicy rice dish, and lastly a noodle dish. By the time we dug into these, the tanks were almost full, so half of it perfumed our car for the travel home. The only thing left for that evening was to engage with our dreams. At this writing, I'm still having a conversation with Gandhi while on a barge floating down the Ganges. Quick Tip: After indulging, head up the street to the Plaza Mariachi and grab yourself some cooked plantains at Tres Gauchos. Mmmmm plantainy. Those cowboys can sure rustle up a fine dessert. Muy Bueno!

Surati had been on my radar for a long while so when I drove past, I knew that I had made my mind up. Despite it being a Friday night, it wasn't very busy. The inside is small but not so much that you'd have a claustrophobic attack. Parking is easy (thankfully; a rarity these days) so after walking in... I sorta stood there. I'm not new to small mom & pops but I didn't quite know how things worked here and rather than call out, I waited to be greeted. I would have to continue to wait. No wanting to stand in silence with a nearly empty dining room, I asked about the ordering process. Maybe the kitchen (and front of house) was busy with online orders? My service was standoffish at best. Normally I would have left but open hours on Friday night can fluctuate and I didn't want to start over in another queue (it was after 7). Had I eaten in, I would have gone for a dosa. Not knowing how that would travel, I opted for Szechuan fried rice (medium). I hadn't so much as ordered and sat in a booth to look at my phone to waste some time when I was told my food was ready. Either Surati has the fastest chefs in the city or my food was not made to order -- and I certainly didn't experience the 'extras' other Yelpers describe. Not wanting to get into it, I paid and left. I came home to a generous amount of well-seasoned biryani rice and vegetables with just enough heat to let you know you're alive but not so much as to wreck your mouth. I took the W. Food was good enough and I felt that I got my money's worth. Everything else about my experience, though, led me to conclude that this would be a one and done for me. Onto the next.

Orders can be placed on the app and grabbed from the cubbies to the left of the registers. My food has always been ready by the promised time. An employee is always behind the cubbies in case you need to talk to someone. On my last visit an employee noticed I'd have trouble grabbing my order with my toddler on my hip. She grabbed my order and brought it right around. Ordering in line feels like yelling the same thing over and over again. I wonder if marking off options on a sheet of paper would be better for everyone. It's not too bad if you're getting one item, but it's a lot if you have multiple items. The prices are reasonable for a healthier option. I find the bowls to be plenty of food. I like that bowls usually have a couple of protein sources. The bowls for kids are also a generous portion for just under $8. The food is delicious. Everything looks and tastes fresh. There are enough topping options and dressings to mix it up. The seasonal offerings have always been tasty. The Harvest Bowl is my favorite bowl. You choose your rice base and it has sweet potatoes, kale, apples, goat cheese, almonds, and dried cranberries. The white balsamic dressing is great with the other flavors. I enjoy the small piece of bread on the side. Chopt is on my list of favorites for a quick, healthy lunch.
