He maybe used the pumice stone for 20 seconds on each foot ! THIS is such an important part of a pedicure, coming away with soft feet. My feet were exactly the same when I left as when I came in. SO DISAPPOINTED!!!! Certainly NOT worth spending $70!!! One of the other things that softens feet for a proper pedicure is soaking them in treated warm water. A bowl of tepid water arrived, but it was not warm enough and my feet HARDLY got a chance to soak making the soak useless. I don't know, end of the week (Sunday) late afternoon I got someone who was not so into providing a satisfying service?!? I will give them one more try and speak up about my needs

I do not recommend getting a Gel-X mani here. First, the recommendation I was given didn't make sense. My natural nails had grown out pretty long, so I asked for hard gel. Multiple staff members recommended Gel-X extensions instead for the design I wanted. My natural nails were only slightly shorter than my reference image, but I wanted to trust their expertise. I was wrong. I chose the shorter extension length and it ended up being the same length of my natural nail before the tech cut them, so the extensions added nothing and I unnecessarily had my nails cut. Second, the application quality doesn't match the price. There are ill-fitting corners throughout. Rather than sizing up to an extension that fit my nail bed, the tech filed down my side walls to force the smaller one to fit, which hurt. One extension on my index finger is visibly crooked. I pointed it out and was told it looked straight - looking at it again and in photos, it's clearly off-center. There's also still cured gel on my skin, which is a contact dermatitis risk. Third, the pricing was not transparent. I paid $115 for a Gel-X removal and Gel-X manicure. The pricing on the website and at check-in is confusing, and when I showed my inspiration photo up front, no one quoted me. The tech told me the price, $155, only after she had already started the design. I got it down to $115 by dropping the star flakes, which were $40 on their own. I want to pay techs fairly for their work, but $40 for star flakes isn't worth it. To be fair, there were genuine positives. I called to let them know I was running 10 minutes late and the staff were completely understanding about it. And when I asked for a swirl cat eye design, my tech told me upfront that it was above her skill level rather than overpromising. She still gave it a shot, and I really appreciated that honesty. Overall, I can't recommend this place. The quality of work and service don't match the price, and what frustrates me more is that the staff didn't listen to my questions and were quick to shut me down instead of working with me. Given the reviews here, I'll assume this isn't the standard, and that it's fixable.

Tourists and locals alike be warned! Do NOT come here and fall victim to this scam of a business! I used to be a loyal customer to Sunflowers, but after the several occasions that I came and watched the owner (who I'm guessing is the one with long hair and is fairly tall and scrawny) SCAM customers, especially those visiting from out of town, I stopped supporting this salon. I have seen the manager ask several ladies where they were from as they were getting ready to pay, and charge them more than the actual price for a mani + pedi if they answered with anywhere but SF! She even tried pulling the same trick on me very recently; the price listed on the service menu taped on their window for an underarm wax is $11, however, when I was getting ready to pay, the owner demanded $15 from me as if I didn't know the true price! Keep in mind that I am not overly hairy in my underarm area, and if anything, I only had three or four strands that needed plucking. I wanted to get my underarms waxed because I wear sleeveless dresses to work and tanks to yoga every day, and often forget to shave my underarms, but after being unfairly charged by the rude owner of Sunflowers, I would rather bare the hair than support a business that cheats their customers. NEVER returning here again and I suggest you steer clear too if you don't want to pay unreasonably more than you expect to. read more

I took a few months off from getting my nails done to save money, but after my birthday last week, I decided to treat myself. I've gotten this exact set done at Valencia before and it came out beautifully. Unfortunately this time, I was assigned to Leo. I almost never request a specific tech because I've generally had great experiences here, but this one was different from the start. I showed him my inspiration photo and chose a silver-blue chrome labeled "01." There was also a silver color in the same book with a similar label, so I was very clear that I wanted the blue chrome. As soon as he started painting, I could tell he was using the silver instead. I stopped him, picked up the book again, pointed to the correct color, and explained it was wrong. He stood up, walked to the shelves, came back without grabbing anything, and continued painting with the same color. Normally, if there's a language barrier, they'll kindly call someone over like another tech or the front desk to help clarify. I've also had past experiences at Valencia where a technician realized a design wasn't in their skill set and switched with someone who could deliver, which I always appreciated. That didn't happen here. Leo seemed unwilling to adjust or ask for help. At one point, I even refused to put my hand in the curing lamp to stop him. Eventually, I gave up and assumed the blue chrome might not be available. From there, it only got worse. He started painting directly on a clear base, and I had to ask him to use a natural pink base and re-point to the inspiration photo. When he began the design, he applied the silver like an uneven French tip instead of a blended ombré. You can see visible brush strokes, no natural blending, and the silver ends at completely different points on every nail. The photos speak for themselves. My toes also came out wrong. Normally, when I get a French tip pedicure here, the technician starts the lining and asks me to check the thickness before continuing. That didn't happen this time. Because I was so focused on how badly my hands were going, I didn't even notice my toes until I got home. The French tip is visibly squiggly, and some lines are much thicker than others. I repeatedly told Leo I didn't like the results and asked for the silver to be blended naturally, even suggesting an airbrush and asking him to grab another technician if needed. I paid almost $200 for my nails and toes and cried the entire drive home across the bridge. The entire visit was absolutely horrible and left me feeling taken advantage of. I don't know if I'll be back, but if I do return, I will make sure I don't see anyone outside of the text who have always been respectful and patient and delivered on what I wanted. I want to make it clear, I made all of this known before going home. I advocated for myself over five times directly to him. And I was blatantly ignored.

I'm not a nail technician but any smart person with common sense knows this is so extremely wrong. She filed my nails super uneven, they were all different shapes and lengths. I had to politely ask 2 times to file my nails round and short. She was super rude about it. Immediately, I noticed how extremely scratched up and fragile my nails became, yet she still put polish on. I should have said something, but I felt rude telling her how to do her job. Huge regret. Few days later, every single 10 of my REAL finger nails have broke in half. They weren't even acrylics. Broke so short that the skin under nails are exposed and bled. This has never happened to me before. You can see all of the deep scratches under the gel that's how bad it is. My nail beds are still extremely scratched up, flimsy, and super rough. They are DAMAGED. Out of the hundreds of gel manicures I've had, this was BY FAR the worst, most DAMAGING service. Please avoid unless you want your nails to be broken and damaged. This place should not be in business.

No attention was paid to hangnails or dry skin, and the final result was average at best. Overall not the experience I was hoping for and thus will not be returning.
