Starting with the positive: very clean and calming environment, professional and detail oriented staff The negative: more expensive than other salons nearby (gel manicure $70 + $25 for French tip, regular pedicure $60) and both the gel manicure and regular pedicure started chipping and pealing within a week. I'm bummed that the results did not last because they looked beautiful for the first few days and the overall experience at the salon was great. I knew I wanted to try this spot when I walked by. The vibe is very chic and feels fancy. Definitely a more spa-like atmosphere than your average nail salon. I have since been here 3 times for manicures. The staff is very friendly, and I was pleasantly surprised to find out this is a female locally owned business - given the aesthetic I would have thought it was a franchise. I have naturally weak and brittle nails so do not get them done often. I usually can't justify the price of getting my nails done because they don't last long. Unfortunately, there was no exception here with my last gel manicure chipping only 2 days later, *sigh*. Since the gel did not hold up, I will not be going back for this service. I plan to go back to try their pedicure. This place is too great to let one bad experience keep me from returning. My gal, Van, was so meticulous about shaping my nails and cleaning them, it was a full half hour of her taking detailed attention to the quality of my nail. They'll lightly just push off the goo on your nails after applying a polish that softens previous gel on your nails. Mine was completed almost 4 hours later. I had 3 different people work on me, the 2nd one did the wrong type. They left me sitting for 45 minutes after they started mine to do 2 people who came in 2 1/2 hours after me (they were regulars and she asked if I lived in S.F.) even though they did the pedicure 1st and I waited a long time, it was ruined by shoes I put on several hours later. read more
