Also bro, she was gentle and I am a pussy when it comes to pain so it's rare that someone is gentle enough for me. Okay I didn't make the connection with that, and the name of this store until now. Cause a lot of the times nail salon stores be having random adjectives in the name, which I find amusing. Like "crystal sweetie nail." And btw that's not racist, I'm allowed to say that because I am an Asian child of immigrants. Anyway I came in wanting acrylics but she was able to explain to me that even clear acrylics won't be as clear as my inspo pic so we decided to do hard gel aka Russian. Fantastic quality gel manicure- gorgeous color on the cats eye type I got, and my friend really liked their 2 tone. It has lasted greater than a week with zero chips, which, given I work with my hands with lots of mechanical friction and get lots of chemicals on them, is pretty rare. I've gotten gel-x manicure and regular gel manicure and normal pedicure and they are phenomenal at all of them. The technique is flawless, the products are so good, I tried to take the gel off myself and I literally couldn't, which proves how well they did it. My first visit to Gentle Nails Salon proved the business name applies. I love how gentle they are!! They absolutely do not rush, are very attentive to detail and thorough!! They soak off gel polish, they don't rip anything off! My first time having my natural long nails dipped. They were able to save a broken nail, which prevented me from cutting them off. I had my fingers dipped plus a gel polish and a pedicure with same gel polish and it was $120. Higher price than I want to pay, but the quality was worth it and my nails still look fresh (it's been 7days since my visit). I decided to go to this salon based on reviews. I came in for an acrylic fill and my tech struggled to shape my nails properly. She also decided to glob acrylic onto my entire nail making them all thicker and ruining the sleek very natural look of my long acrylics. An hour and a half later and after asking numerous times about the shape and about how the thickness of every nail was different, I think the poor girl gave up. It is a little pricier for a fill than some other places in the bay (65 for a fill + added 20$ for getting a cat eye design) but I will say it is worth the price. I have been going here for around a year now and I have to say the gel manicures here are ridiculously good. My gel manicure always lasts around 5 weeks on natural nails. I also grow out my natural nails and once I got a chip right before I was going to do a manicure and they were able to repair it very easily. Today I asked them to do a cute cat nail art based on my cat (yes I am a crazy cat lady) and the result was sooooo cute. This was over my natural nail too! The price was very reasonable for the nail art! I highly recommend them for gel manicures and pedicures! If you go during a weekday they can usually squeeze you in same day! I've been staying away from getting my nails done because for some reason, I've consistently been nicked/cut at other salons because the nail tech was working too fast and too aggressively. I got a classic mani/pedi at Gentle Nails today for $52 total and I can confidently say that the service was friendly, skilled, and GENTLE like the name states. My cuticles look great (and unharmed) and they even put quick dry drops on my fingers to make sure they dried faster and stronger. Small note: they charge $5 total if you come in and need leftover gel removed, but this fee is waived if you're getting a new gel manicure. (For me, this was expected as this seems to be a standard charge.) I will be back! read more

Called in the early afternoon on a Thursday (July 1, 2021) to see if my friend and I could come in later in the evening for an acrylic set and a gel set. Employees were super friendly and scheduled us for that day at 4 PM. Parking: there's street parking, and most of them don't require payment past 5 PM. A lot of the street parking was residential, and were mostly 2 hour parking. I was able to find parking two blocks down and walked over. It was also a week day, so maybe parking was a little easier. I normally don't come into the city, like, ever; I hate driving in SF, but I did it to hangout with my friend lol. Location: only a few blocks from Golden Gate Park, located in the Sunset area and there were several other nail shops in the vicinity. I almost got confused and went into a different nail shop. Service: 10/10. I don't remember my nail tech's name, but she wore glasses, spoke English well and was pretty soft spoken. She has 2 daughters, lives in SF.. we chatted for a while but I didn't get her name. But she was amazing. PERIOD. I'm writing this review almost 4 weeks after I got my acrylics done, and jesus, the attention to detail on these nails. None of my nails have chipped or come off. This is either some ridiculously strong glue or she just did a great job. I've gone on vacation (boston, nyc, nj) with my corgi, and I went rafting last weekend with 16 corgis. I'm just amazed every single one of my nails is still intact. My friend and I arrived around 4 PM, but we weren't seen immediately. There were 3 customers still in the shop (which is fine because my friend was running a little late). We ended up waiting till around 5 PM, but they did give us tea/water and let us sit down. They also have a really clean restroom in the back that I was able to use, so I didn't really mind waiting. My acrylic set took a little over an hour, but my lady was easy to talk to - we talked about her daughter who is going to college, and her other daughter's shiba. My friend and I were the last ones in the shop after 6 PM, so they were kind enough to let our corgis come inside and sit with us. That was probably the best part because I love dog friendly places, and just dog lovers in general. Price: probably standard for SF, my acrylic set was $70 which is way more expensive than Fremont/SJ, but it's okay. I've never had acrylics last me this long so I guess it was worth it. They take Venmo, card and cash. I tipped in cash, but I paid via Venmo. If I'm ever in need of nails that are gonna last 4 weeks+, and I'm in the city, I'll be back! Walked in on a Monday for a pedicure and was told i would have to wait for about 10 mins, which was fine although in the future I know to make an appt. Very friendly staff and clean establishment. Offered hot tea or water while I waited. Lots of colors to choose from. I thought the manicurist who worked on me was gentle and took care to do a good job. Regular pedicure was $30 and included not only the nail and cuticle care, but was surprised to also receive an exfoliating rub, hot stone massage and lotion. The short massage I received with the pedicure was very relaxing. Next time will consider paying extra for a longer massage. Overall, very relaxing and good service. Great local nail salon in Inner Sunset just around the corner from 9th & Judah Muni stop. This was only my 2nd ever time getting a manicure so I'm no expert. Staff was very friendly and they sat me immediately and offered water or tea. They had lots of color options between regular and gel (I don't know the difference haha). They're full menu of offerings is at the front desk on the printed paper sign. I got regular color and 3 little flowers and cost me $28 before tip. Seems like you can also call ahead and make an appointment.
